IMPORTANT: This application is only for WM 5/6 Pro. (i.e Pocket PC with Phone)
TO INSTALL:
- Check you have Windows Mobile 5 or 6/6.1 Pro. (i.e Pocket PC with Phone)
- Check you have .NET Framework 3.5 installed.
- Check you have Flash 7 for Pocket PC (FEWidgets won't work with Flash Lite)
- Install FEWidgets-V1.0.0b8.CAB
- If you have a VGA device or want other backgrounds, place them on images directory on the application directory. Images will NOT be scaled.
LATEST INSTALLER CAB: FEWidgets-V1.0.0b8.CAB
NOTE: You can also activate it as a Today plugin (Settings -> Today -> Plugins, check FEWidgets and uncheck everything else)
IMPORTANT: Tasks/Appointment widgets only support Latin characters.

- [Fixed] If S2P is not installed, the widget will rise an exception instead of not working silently.
- [Fixed] Sometimes the contact widget would throw FormatException.
- [Fixed] Switching pages too fast would result on the page not being changed but the number changes anyway.
- [Fixed] Sometimes after changing pages too fast the application would stop responding (you feel the haptic feedback but nothing happens).
- Widget Bar status is now preserved when app starts.
- Contact and shortcut images can now be selected when the widgets are set to "Allow custom Images" (on config).
- fixed bug of call pad position when scaling for VGA/WVGA.
- Mortscript files now show on the file list of the shortcut widget.
- Now a widget can ignore auto scaling. (for example if it does scaling itself)
- Background picture/swf change now is smoother (white background is no longer displayed.
- Background picture now scales if it's smaller than screen.
- Call panel now provides haptic feedback.
- Now when the SMS widget is dragged onto the bar it will not show. If it's closed using the X button it will remember it's position for the next time and open automatically.

- Weather. Shows you the weather for today. Current temperature and forecasted Min/Max for today.
- SMS information. Once you drop this widget once, if you remove it, it'll spawn automatically the next time you have an SMS message on the same possition you had placed it.

No photos besides it only has 3 widgets hehe, the most important thing was providing the "framework", someone with a little more design capabilities could be better (TWolf flagets look neat hehe).
It looks like the omnia Widgets, (I've only test them on my omnia)..

Instructions are for those who want to create a new Widget, or provide new commands for Widget creators.
To install you must download the Executables rar, create a folder "somewhere" on your device and copy all files there. Then exec KWidgets.exe to run it .
I forgot to mention that I've never tested the app on a bigger screen than that of my omnia... It should work on every Window Mobile Phone... I don't know if it works on a PocketPC. The main difference is that I forgot to place code to resize the window :$
I'll add it on a future version =D
EDIT: I believe .NET CF does it for me so it should work

I also have .NET Framework 3.5 installed and it runs ok here... are you forcing execution on 3.5 for 2.0 programs? I'm not.
What do you mean by "It uses flash lite too though"? it should use Flash Player 7. It won't work with Flash Lite for sure.
What's the Path to KWidgets.exe on your Pocket PC?.. It should be something like
\My Storage\Program Files\KWidgets
And in there all the files... you should also create an images folder inside it (\My Storage\Program Files\KWidgets\images)

nicoedga, thanks for developing this. i have one question. is there a way you can make a today plugin out of this? if you manage to create a today plugin for widgets, we'll be able to intergrate it with different shells such as UltimateLaunch.. and then.. the options are endless.

Hmm I suppose it's doable, it wouldn't have transparent background though :\ (I dont think I can do that)
with ThrottleHTML can add flash on today.. in KWidgets-Executables.rar i found swf files, but i dont know what do with dll and others files ..

- Copy the contents of this rar http://www.sendspace.com/file/57pcar to a folder (KWidgets.exe should end up on something like \My Storage\Program Files\KWidgets\KWidgets.exe)

i have windows 6....... I could only open the swf when i had flash lite installed... now it doesn't even open the swf files.....
..........it's ok...... no worries........ seems awesome though

But are you running the swf Flash files on their own? I don't get it. You should just run the executable.
Width Flash 7 for Power PC you cannot open swf files on their own, it's an ActiveX control.. it needs a host.
Flash Lite is standalone, meaning swf files run. But my swf files cannot be executed on their own, because they rely on my application to run.

OK.... lets try it again....... when you say my storage???? where is that as my device has no such name..... it has my device/ my program files, where i can create a folder in there????? if thats what you mean..... it's mean who's probs messing up so not to worry....... i'm a noob to all this, and learning still.

Application launcher that LOOKS and FEELS like M2D!
Got some free time so I decided to write an application to replace the M2D's "All Programs" application launcher. Basically, this replaces the folderview.exe in your \Windows directory.
NOTE: Hence, this would only work if you have M2D running on your device!
NOTE: I implemented a finger scroll algorithm. So, if you are running FTouchflo or FTouchSL, please include folderview.exe in the exemptions list.
Features:
1) Interface is very similar to M2D. It uses the graphics of your current M2D theme. If you change your theme, you can exit the app launcher and re-launch in order to effect the changes.
2) Navigation is very much similar to M2D. You can scroll up and down the list or drag-scroll the tab icon bar. The icons in the tab bar represents the folders of your Start Menu; the "Main" category represents links in the root of Programs folder. (Limitation: It only reads the folders under \Windows\Start Menu\Programs. Sub-folders are ignored.) You can alternatively use the D-Pad: Up and Down moves up and down the items; while, Left and Right moves through the folders.
3) It uses you current custom folder icons (icons.lnk). If you want to customize your folder icons, just do a search on how to do it. It has been discussed several times in the past. In order to customize the "Main" category (or Root of Start Menu\Programs), just drop an icon.lnk on your \Windows\Start Menu\Programs\ folder.
4) Wherever/whenever possible, I wrote the code to be compatible with any screen resolution/orientation. But, I tested this only on my device (Hermes, QVGA device). Feedbacks are appreciated.

How to install:
1) Copy the attached cab file.
2) IMPORTANT: Make sure folderview.exe is not running on your device. You can use a good task manager to close/kill folderview.exe (or install attached cab file right after a softreset.); otherwise, installation will fail.
3) Copy the cab file to your device and execute to install.
4) Requires netcf 2.0 or higher.

NOTE #2: Build 11042008 doesn't have file checking (will fix that soon). SO, if your M2D graphics files are not in the root of \Windows folder, this will crash. Make sure the graphics files needed by this app are in \Windows folder:

3) "hh_fw_background.png"
4) "hh_fw_background.png"

NOTE #3: Before installing, try to use the built-in File Explorer (or Resco Explorer, etc.) and navigate to your \Windows directory. If it takes you a long time loading the \Windows folder as in more than 10 seconds (!), then this application is "unusable" to you as you may experince noticeable lags as it accesses your \Windows folder often. Based on experience, M2D cooked in to the rom is a lot lot faster than installing it via cab.

That's because of the bitmap mask on the tab bar. Without the mask, scrolling would have been a lot lot faster. I'm using .netcf and I can't find a good class to handle bitmap masks. so i implemented it using lockbits and manipulated the pixels one-by-one. Not an elegant way of doing it, but it works well.

netcf version 2.0 or higher is required.
this looks great. Can't try it yet because I'm trying out m3d, which made of think that this would also be great if you could run it as a stand alone app-launcher (a program that could be run outside of m2d).
I've been looking for an app launcher like this that simply follows the folder structure of my programs folder. It would be great if we could have it as a program and therefore run it from a hw button. Thanks and great job!

Looking into the Exception, I noticed it's actually a "FileNotFound" Exception...
I've got .NET CF 3.5 up and running on my device (HTC Prophet G4).
Is there any additional file to install beside the cab ?

The major problem in beta are some popup messages not displayed in English yet ... however, I think it is not a big obstacle to use this software.
I didn't pack them to cab file, you could copy and then use it directly, this version are free to use/test until 2009/10/01. ( after deadline, it will disable some functions )
You can also download startdict dictionaries (http://stardict.sourceforge.net/Dictionaries_dictd-www.dict.org.php) to customize your BVocabulary.

With version vivid 2.2, there isn't a bar to scroll down and see all the info (and the data doesn't fit the screen - it would be necessary to scroll right also).
With version 2.31 (the last one), though I can scroll, a bug occurs with html dictionaries: they loose formatation (the instructions for alignment and colour and etc. are displayed).

Hi bokiteam, I am new to this site. I would like to know how to install this dict to my wm mobile phone? just follow the steps below that u posted b4?

Yes, we only need the two files ( BVocabulary.exe and BVocabulary.dll ) then we can use this application.
We can find BVocabulary.dll in packages of old versions, or you could get it from http://www.pocketgear.com/en_US/html/display_product.jsp?id=prod7150551pg
Regarding the displaying multi-dictionaries at the same time, this is unsupported yet. ( if we want to get different result, we could manually switch different dictionary )
To install the pronunciation database, please download WyabdcRealPeopleTTS @ sourceforge.net

then uncompressed the zip(tar.bz2) file, put the WyabdcRealPeopleTTS folder to the same directory as BVocabulary.exe
Verification:
Search "book" or "good" in BVocabulary, it should able to pronounce now.

The default in WM devices I guess .Net CF 2.0
We can check .Net CF version in 'Add/Remove program' ( if you installed it manually before )

BVocabulary is really a great peace of software, thanks for coding!
The only nasty problem I've discovered so far, is that BVocabulary doesn't interpret some Stardict tags like <k>, </k>. It's basically the same problem as described here:

It would be very nice if you could fix it in one of the next releases
P.S. One more question? Can BVocabulary accept command line parameters? I mean, if you have many dictionaries and quickly want to access a certain one, it would be very convenient to create a shortcut like "BVocabulary.exe -DictA.ifo" So you could have a shortcut for each dictionary in your start menu like
Dict A - "BVocabulary.exe -DictA.ifo"
Dict B - "BVocabulary.exe -DictB.ifo"
Dict C - "BVocabulary.exe -DictC.ifo"
That would also be great.

For shortcut to load different dict, here is a workaround:
Please find the hidden file in the same folder of BVocabulary.exe ( or BVocabularyViVid.exe )
BVocabulary.cfg ( this is a text file )
Modify the content to necessary dicts ...
ex:
\Storage Card\stardict-quick_eng-kor-2.4.2\EXAMPLE.ifo
then ....
create as many as folders to process them ...

Does anyone have bvocabulary working flawlessly on HTC HD2?
In Vivid version I always have the same bug: the data doesn't autofit the screen and I can't scroll down and right properly.
Well, actually I also can't see any scrollbars on my TP2, but at least I still can use the arrow buttons to scroll up or down. You may try to remap some buttons on your HD2 to up/down-buttons as I did on my TP2.
It would be nice if I could scroll with my fingers on the touchscreen like in Opera, Word or Outlook, but it seems that BVocabulary Vivid doesn't support that yet.

You *may* able to scroll screen by touch screen.
I just tested BVocabulary Standard 2.31 and BVocabulary Vivid 2.2 on HTC diamond (WM6.1), both can do touch scroll.

Okay, my little feedback:
Couldn't test it right now because of the following fact:
It only works with WWE-Roms. My is a german ROM so my startmenu folder differs from yours (my is "PPC:\Windows\Startmenü").
But I have a folder that is named like yours, but only of some wrong installations of some other progs. If I delete this folder your prog starts with an error. We need an option to change the start menu folder.

that's interesting! any more advance users can tell me their Start Menu locations?
What I could do is to make a list of start menu locations (based on your feedbacks about it) and scan if one of those exists. If not then probably I could make a deep folder scan and look for an interesting shortcut files and make it as a Start Menu path.

Well .CAB files are supposed to be like an .MSI on Windows Desktop. If .CAB files are not recognized in your WM, probably something messed your file type associations. I cannot give an additional information about it (there is but, I don't think you're going to like it *eheclearmemoryem*).
I'll try to upload the binaries too in case .. It'll be available later after I finish some path references in codes

EDIT:: Just found the problem the file downloads with the cab extension but after the cab there was an underscore, i have removed that an will try again.

I tried downloading the CAB from my Skydrive and I was able to install it in my WM6.5
not sure what causes your problem. Am not sure either if other users downloaded the CAB have the same problem since I have no feedback from them. Though @lycox was able to install it but it shouts an error due to WM version problem, not sure why his Start Menu path is different (WM German version) probably a character encoding
yer a bit of a strange one, but it works great, maybe he has the same problem where there is an underscore just after the cab, and it's not being recognised like what happened to me, could be as simple as that.
but thankyou for your work this app is really useful at getting the program screen nice and tidy.

I have to say, that after downloading the file from your account, I had the underscore too. But that wasn't a real prob. Just renamed it

READ BEFORE POSTING ANYTHING
Interop Tools can't be installed, like with a lot of other apps that uses restricted CAPs, if you CAP unlocked your phone using vcREG, vcREG changes 2 registry values that breaks the whole deployment system since one build of the rs1 development, so please reset your phone, use only vcREG to install an older NDTK if needed, and install Interop Tools (h/t @vcfan see your DMs)
Interop Tools doesn't require and will never require any CAP unlock
Please read the installation instructions carefully
Interop Tools versions older than or equal to Beta 1.8.1 are not supported in any way, please update the app
I'm not responsible for any damage made by your device if this ever happens even though I'm really careful each time I'm posting a new version
When submitting a bug report, please specify what apps related to Interop/Cap unlock you have installed, if you did anything, some reproduction steps and the phone model you are using, along with if you cap unlocked your device.
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
If you have an IT version older or equal to Beta 1.7 already installed, please uninstall it and reboot your device prior to installing/updating Interop Tools
Download the latest Interop Tools appxbundle for your device architecture and its dependencies
Extract both zips, and extract the certificate file if you're installing Interop Tools on a desktop device
If you're on a Desktop device, double click the certificate file, select Local Machine as the installation location, press next, select place the certificate into the following certificate store, and pick trusted peoples, then press ok, and next.
Install Interop Tools dependencies like any regular appx, by opening up the Device portal for your device, going into the application section, click on browser for the app package, select the dependency appx, and then press install, do that for each dependency
The install Interop Tools main appxbundle by pressing browser, pick it, then press install.
ENABLE SYSTEM REGISTRY ACCESS INSTRUCTIONS
For x50+ lumia devices by Microsoft
Download and install vcREG and proceed to install the older NDTK version as instructed in the vcREG thread, for support about this whole process, please see the vcREG thread in the same forum section
Don't do any CAP unlock, otherwise Interop Tools might not install properly
Install Interop Tools if you never installed it like instructed on this post
For other lumia devices by Microsoft
Go to the Interop Unlock section of Interop Tools
If restore NDTK isn't on, turn it on, and reboot your device
For all other OEM devices

Go to the Interop Unlock section of Interop Tools, and tap the button that says "Enable installing NDTK on any device"
Put the two NDTK cabs in one empty folder on your PC
Open a command prompt as administrator and make sure you're in the directory where the iutool executable is located from the WP(AK) zip
run "iutool -V -p "<fulllocationwherethetwondtkpackagesarestored>" with your phone connected into the PC
if iutool throws an error, please unplug your device, go to the control panel, devices and printer, select your phone, should be ghosted, click on uninstall device, and then replug the device and wait for it to reinstall. If you still have issues, run GETDULOGS from the same CMD prompt, and post the cab you get along with a message in this thread
When the installation is finished, open Interop Tools, go to the Interop Unlock section, and tap restore the original manufacturer info button.

STATE OF THE APP
The app is still in development and has some rough edges. I would appreciate if you could report bugs about it, but before make sure you read the Q&A.
Currently the app has limited support for the registry for all devices running at least Windows 10 Mobile build 10240 by default.
Some specific devices have extra support out of the box, please read the list inside the spoiler below.

Q&A
Q: What does "versatile" means?
A: It means that the app will work on every phone. But that doesn't mean it will work the same everywhere.
Q: Will this app work on Windows Phone 8.1?
A: No this is a Windows 10 UWP app, please fall back to using vcREG and CustomPFD for Windows Phone 8.1.
Q: I'm getting an error while installing one of all dependencies, what should I do?
A: Install all the dependencies first then install the one that throws an error. One of them depends on another one.
Q: The app doesn't install
A: Make sure you're installing the correct package for your processor architecture (x86_x64 is usually for PC, your phone is probably an ARM device) and that you installed all dependencies one by one prior to installing the app.
Q: I have a lumia which is not part of the x50 device family but I can't seem to be able to write some registry values.
A: Make sure under interop unlock, "Restore NDTK" is on, if not turn it on, reboot and try again.
Q; The app crashes.
A: Please submit a bug report with full detailed reproduction steps as well as your device model, if you tampered with ndtk before and other details that may help troubleshoot the crash such as the current running build and etc.
Q: What does TNSTSIGNING do?
A: It enables Test Signing on builds prior or equal to 10572. Don't be stupid and don't turn that on on later builds, your phone will most probably go into a boot loop.
Q: Can't install the versions above Beta 1.7
A: Re-read the installation instructions.

No this is a Windows 10 UWP app only, sorry. You can fall back to using vcreg and custompfd on wp8.1, or upgrade to Windows 10 Mobile if you wish to use this app.
I've already install version 1.7.157.0. When I uninstall it and reinstall with version 1.8 nothing happens. I tried reboot my phone.

Did you install all dependencies provided with beta 1.8.1 one by one before installing the main appxbundle? Dependencies changed between 1.7 and 1.8 and you need to reinstall all of them.

Except Microsoft.NET.Native.Framework.Debug.1.3, I installed all remained dependencies through default File Explorer.
Hope it will work with version 1.9 tommorow.

Without Microsoft.NET.Native.Framework.Debug.1.3 it will obviously not work. You need to install that, even for 1.9
Note: you need to install that debug dependency after all the other ones actually.

It will work yes, but some registry values might not be accessible to you. The Interop page, ssh/sftp/cmd, some tweaks will not work for example.
