I don't know if this problem is real or if I am just being paranoid and imagining something but basically it goes something like this:
I recently rooted and lagfixed my vibrant with OCLF 2+. I am new to rooting and all this so I tried not to do too much, no new ROMs or anything. All I have done so far is download a few root specific programs and applied a theme with metamorph but took it off.
So now when I am browsing on 3G, it loads very very slowly. But if I do speedtest it works really well, high speeds. I also downloaded Dolphin HD to see if it was just the stock browser. Dolphin HD loaded the sites just fine. But market is also having issues, saying no network connection.
Am I just imagining slow connection and being impatient? Or could there be a problem?

Whatever the actual problem may be, I suggest you forget the OCLF lag fix, and just get the Bionix rom. I have heard of far too many problems with the OCLF lag fix, and the Bionix rom does far more than that lag fix can ever do.
But, did you try undoing the lag fix and seeing if that affected your speeds?
Hi there,
First time poster - So, "Hey guys!"
I have a Samsung Galaxy S2 (Hence the post in this sub-forum,) running on Cyanogenmod 9 (10/04) nightly.
For quite some time, i've had issues with loading videos from the youtube application on my mobile network. Wifi works perfectly fine.
Whenever I go to load a video, it always comes up with, "Connection to server lost, touch to retry."
I'm able to bypass this, by enabling HQ (On or off) and the video loads perfectly.
However, this is only a work around - The issue still remains. It's quite annoying, as It's worked once or twice in the past (This was when I was running stock, without root.)
I've tried everything I can think of. (Reflashing to stock (Rom and kernel,) rebooting, fixing permissions, clearing dalvik cache etc, etc, etc...)
I searched for this exact issue all night last night, and half the day today at work - All to no avail.
Does ANYBODY have the same issue and or know about fixing it?
Many thanks,
Josh
Uninstall ur youtube and install again from play store. Or try to remove google account and re-enter ur account.
I am having the same problems.
Does this not have something to do with the 4.0.4 data problem that has been reported?
Reinstalling youtube doesn't help me.

just refresh it a couple of times .. works for me
OK I messed about with different ROM versions and nothing happened even after a factory reset.
Also updating youtube didn't work.
However I have just installed the latest build 31 of Team Kang and installed an older gapps package from Feb 12 (instead of the Mar 12 package).
Youtube then updated itself automatically on reboot and now works fine off wifi.
It didn't have anything to do with 4.0.4. I stand corrected.

I have a Galaxy S2 running CM9RC1 and I'm having exactly the same problem. I've tried GApps packages signed from March and April to no avail.
YouTube's mobile site works fine. The YouTube app works fine over WiFi. It fails to load any videos when I'm connected using 3G though and returns the error above.
I've tried a factory reset, cleared cache, uninstalled/reinstalled the YouTube app, tried enabling/disabling HD from within the YouTube app, tried a number of different APNs, selected/deselected the option to preload videos, ensured my flash player is up to date, reflashed CM9 and reinstalled GApps. I've been Googling a couple of hours now and I'm beginning to lose the will to live! :crying:
Everything worked fine prior to me rooting my phone and flashing CM9. I was originally running the official Vodafone UK ICS rom.
I'm beginning to lose faith that I'll be able to fix the problem so would appreciate any suggestions?
TIA,
Bob.
Edit: Well no sooner have I posted that I think I've managed to crack it. I navigated to Settings > Location Services > GPS Source, and noticed that the radio button to use the internal GPS wasn't depressed. I selected it, backed out and now things seem to be OK.

I'm having the same problem. My GPS Source was also unselected but selecting it hasn't made any change to the situation. I'm not sure how GPS can effect Youtube performance?
I've had the same issue with youtube on both my Epic Touch 4G (Galaxy S2) and Nexus 7 device.....but only at my house. Youtube works perfectly elsewhere. Can it be something with my home wifi network? The nexus 7 is wifi only and I have never been able to get youtube to work at my house but it works when connected to other wifi networks elsewhere. Also, my mother-in-law is visiting this week and her kindle fire will not play youtube while in our house, getting the same "Connection to server lost, touch to retry" error message.
All signs point to something being up with the wifi network but I don't know how to solve this issue.
Wound up being Comcast's throttled DNS. All good now.

Try looking at the apn you are on in your settings. Mine was on EPHRD. Moved it ti LTE and now you tube is working again.
I have the SGN2 WITH SPRINT.
disable "restrict background data" from data usage. or if you have any firewall apps disable it then try. hope it will work for you as like me.
sorry for my bad english

Hi
I have a problem with YouTube in that it won't play a single video unless I'm connected through Wi-Fi. When outside Wi-Fi using 3G as soon as I click on a video I get a "Connection to server lost. Touch to retry" message appear. The same video will play once I connect to Wi-Fi again.
It's been like it for a while now, but never got round to finding out what's happend to it.
I've currently got Omega v32 XXDLJ5 with a stock kernel, it was exactly the same with previous versions of Omega and when I was using CyanogenMod 9.
Can anyone offer some advice (I've tried searching )
I'm 100% sure that the problem is with your Network and not with the phone.

I did think this at first, but then to test it I turned wifi off and set up S3 as a hotspot and tethered my iPad to it and it played a video clip right away. The GS3 just about had a H+ signal yet it worked..
Anyone else have any ideas what my problem could be..?
Thanks
Hi Everybody, new on here but had nowhere else to turn. Sony support told me to turn it off and on and try search for new app updates.
Anyhow problem started right after using the repair tool. I tried to flash a custom rom which failed so I repaired using sony companion. Since I did that the tablet is not offering me the 4.4 update which I previously had running on the tablet. That's not in all too much of an issue but thought I'd give the background. So after all this the apps on my tablet don't seem to want anything streaming, it's really odd. BBC iPlayer, Spotify and Netflix are all having problems. Netflix tells me to check internet connection and date/time and the other apps just say I'm offline. It's really weird because I am online and can download from the internet just fine. The browser allows me to use the internet as normal just these apps seem to be saying im constantly offline whilst I'm connected to the wifi.
Please any help on this would be much appreciated.
Kind regards
I can confirm Netflix works fine on 4G now so must be an Internet issue. Anyone any ideas where to start with this??
