I use GingerReal ROM v1.2. It works superb as long as you don't need to connect to Eclipse to try to develop some apps. Everyone who codes can be a dev - thats the beauty of android right! But I found several errors in setting up the Development environment. I had posted it here - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1269640
It appears to be a ROM problem as there was no problem in the stock ROM (atleast froyo.. i didnt try developing in stock gingerbread).
Can I know which all ROMs are there for SGA which don't give much of a hassle in setting up development with Eclipse? I am asking for ROMs which provide easy DT a2sd and dalvik in sd-ext.
I really liked GingerReal though.. if only it worked smoothly with Eclipse
Please suggest a custom rom with DT A2SD that I can use with eclipse to develop apps

i'd recommend developing on a stock rom, not custom...
But is it possible in stock ROM to have a2sd n dalvik in external?

The only way to have a2sd with stock ROM is to flash a supporting kernel....cf-root kernel.

Hey,i need a rom with support for all apps on sdcard and good performance for Lg p500. Which room is recommended for my criteria?
Maybe void/devoid would fit your needs...

All apps that have Darktremor A2SD.
Like people already said there, void currently is the best choice, fast ROM + a2sd.

You can also try Nessy, its same like megatron rom but updated to Android 2.2.2.
I have tried almost all ROMS here ... ONe word. LOLv1.2 rules all
is there a rom that has no force closes....n lags........im using CM7..n im really pissed at amount of FCs it has.......n really laggy as well...i dont mind froyo...jus need something stabe with NO force closes n NO lags..
To be honest, I love the stock 2.2 V10B. I rooted it and installed Move2SD Enabler and moved all the apps to the SD (Except the widgets) and I currently have about 155 apps and about 60Mbs free on phone memory.
I prefer this because the Iraqi ROM I am using has perfect arabic language that no stock ROM provided.

void ap2sd creates the app folder symlink on sdcard. That way all apps go on sdcard. There is a catch though. The phone will be stuck in boot loop if booted without sdcard. If that is fine with you, then go for void echo.
I use Nessy Fenice
Cheers

Hi everyone,
I have been a happy user of HTC Desire for quite some time, and I had 10 different ROMs on it over time. Now I finally got some extra cash and got SGS2.
For my previous device, I knew where to go and what to look for, but now with SGS2 I'm kinda lost. If anyone could point me out to the following tutorials, I'd be gratefull:
1. How to root
2. How to change recovery?
3. How to install custom ROM
Thanks!
Use "SEARCH" button
Q& Section please .
Custom rom follow roms directions .

So far I rooted and installed CWM Recovery
I'm looking for a NON-AOSP ROM, or lets say, stock ROM with root, CWMR, tweaks and options (for instance, I need 3G toggle in status bar)
Any suggestions?
Light'ning ROM!
So easy to install and it comes rooted of course. Very much stock, with tweaks.

Download Lite'ning 6.1
Download Odin to your pc
Extract, click click, done.

Hello everyone , now I know that there might be a topic on this, but im incredibly paranoid and I need an answer to my question . I have rooted, unlocked the bootloader installed RomRacers recovery and installed faux123's kernel (enhanced 1ghz no OC ) and I'm international (England specifically tmobile). I would like to know if I can install alien.
Sent from my MB860 using xda premium
This is posted in the Q&A section for the ROM:
"I'm not on AT&T and this ROM is completely broken!
This ROM is not yet designed for international compatibility. Please wait for future updates or attempt an install with a proper international kernel."
Now, from what I understand, you will need to pull the AT&T kernel from the build and replace with the international kernel prior to flashing.
So, in essence you can flash it, but not AS IS when you download it.
Don't install Alien. Its old, outdated, buggy, and there are many better ROMs that are being constantly updated and work with international.

personally I didn't think alien was buggy at all, but there are plenty of other newer roms out there. I'm currently on the current CM7 weekly , and have no issues.

Yeah, Alien isnt buggy, its very stable. Just an older ROM.
Sent from my MB860 using xda premium
It is possible to use alien unfortunately I am far from home and can not upload you my costume alien rom for international but you should be able to search for how to change kernel in ROM and make your own build but alien is far outdated I suggest either darksides rom (very stable very fast and very user friendly) or a cm7 build I personally liked the darkside with 1.3 oc cpu
Sent from my MB860 using xda premium
thanks everyone!
and by the way, i flashed Alien, it was REALLY buggy, so i flashed Darkside
Or why don't you try WetDreams. This is his new ROM based on 2.3.6 instead of 2.3.5 on DarkSide.

By really buggy, what do you mean? Alien was one of the most widely used, and best ROM's when it was released. What was not working properly with it?
Also, you should give SUPEROSR a try. It's my daily driver right now, and has been the smoothest of all the ROM's for me.
I mean buggy because when I clicked settings, It didn't show. Manage apps, CRASH! it did not work well. And also just wanted to ask, if I download wet dream, do ihave to wipe cache dalvik cache and full wipe my phone? They are by the same dev right? (Same question For superosr )

It really depends on the ROM. You dont HAVE to wipe for most of them - HOWEVER - You'll have a much cleaner install if you backup all your apps (not system data/apps - NEVER do that) using Titanium Backup, and wipe everything afterwards. I use fastboot to wipe everything before a ROM install.
fastboot erase data
fastboot erase userdata
fastboot erase boot
fastboot erase system
fastboot erase preinstall
fastboot -w
fastboot reboot
Then boot into recovery and install your ROM (should have already placed it on your internal SD before wiping)
This eliminates most problems with a ROM install before they happen.
Since you've unlock the bootloader you can install any rom

Another good Rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1398819 even the ee ver with the normal 1gh is ultra fast and it works so smooth and I get a 4 day battery per charge with regular use (txt msg,lil music and even a bit of gaming) highly recommended to anyone who wants a fast stable Rom.wither you want battery or a performance / battery balance or even if you want something for benchmarking

Hi . First, you must have clockworkmod(cwm5) .. Reboot the recovery . Now wipe cache, data and dalvik. Go to install from SD card . Search your ROM file. Select it example: (IcSrom.zip) Flash it n wait. After that just reboot n wait.. Congrats u have a custom rom on ur phone now.IF u don't like the rom. Flash a stock gingerbread with Odin or use other custom rom. For me All the rom best!!!
