[Q] honeycomb - XPERIA X10 Android Development

hey everyone,
I want to feel the honeycomb in x10 because I could not buy a tablet
anyone have a honeycomb ROM for x10??

Lol...
aZuZu made an alpha honeycomb ROM but he removed the links as he says its on hold. I wasn't sure if it was usable, but you can try MIUI with honeycomb theme made by shiwantha, or have a look inside the themes and apps section.
Good luck and wrong section
Next time post questions in Q&A

aZuZu's hc port is for 2.1, since the libs are 2.1.
That was HoneyComb 3.0. When aZuZu's x10 returns from the service shop, the first tester will test it, and then if all possible bugs are eliminated, then it will be released to the public.
FOR YOUR INFO:
- No camera yet, [WIP]
- Android Version 3.2

oh ****, I just realised, that this is in the development section. Damn, I shouldn't have answered, since well, you dont ask in the dev section. Next time, Q&A.

Ok so last answer on this topic aZuZu said he will be selling his x10 and buying new x10 or repair it himself...

Yes service shop refused to repair my X10 due SEUS usage.
Yes my X10 is in ad and i'm buying new phone.
To try fix it by my-self? No thanks! I did finish school for electronics. But why risk?
And yes i'm porting 2.6.32 to x10 mini.

yerh, thats about right. pretty sad... I mean they say any SW or HW modificaiton is agasint the damn warranty. pretty sad, takes more than 30days to replace the phone... I mean last time i had warranty issues, it took mokia 45min to check for any damage, and then they even gave me a new phone,w hen they could have replaced it, and they ENCOURAGED users to update... sad life.

is that possible to port it into x10?
I saw on htc desire it was very lags..

Yes its possible, but aZuZu's job is a security guard, not a rom developer. So he will release it whenever he is happy.

Where u guys getting this from : devs are working on bootloader? Who is this dev?
Have a look at the tread about it. It's stickied. Custom Rom development: Devs only. There are many collaborating on the bootloader. But for gods sake don't post anything there as its for Devs, not for silly questions.

Its not "multitouch", its " pinch-to-zoom" since, as much as i read SE blog, multitouch will not be fully supported by our Device. Also, as SE blog stated, its not gonna be anything fancy/pro, so we cant expect games like on iPhone (damn..beside zooming in Browser and pictures i see no other use for it). And SE also clearly stated that there will be no more updates of Android platform for x8 and x10 series, just firmware updates. So, we are stuck on 2.1 until someone crack bootloader or SE decide to give us open access to boot (hardly gonna happen).
O.K.. so I signed the petition.. but why do we want a custom "Room"?

my English is not so advanced
in a few words we don't want to stay back with updates and lose compatibility with some app or lose new features that this OS gives us... x10 family can give a lot more than what SE give us

Cracking The bootloader

I know Sony Ericsson has locked their bootloader and that it's a major pain in the rear to crack, but how far have we come with cracking it?
Nowhere by the looks of things...
I think there is somebody doing it but I cant read russian.
Sorry didnt save the link
I saw that the (im)famous Geohot has set his sights on cracking the Xperia Play bootloader. Pretty sure that will spill over into our world.
He is practicing with an x10 he bought
Sorry being a noob, what is a bootloader and what does it do if its cracked?

Bootloader cracked means ability to upload custom kernels to our phones and so not being forced to sony stock one in other words more freedom and simplicity to create custom roms ..

Selling Xperia Mini Pro sk17i

Hi,
I'm selling an almost new Sony Ericcson Xperia Mini Pro (sk17i). I bought it in September and am now changing phones. I bought the phone for 150 Euro, but gonna sell it for 100 Euro. The bootloader is unlocked and the phone is running RealICS6. I can flash any rom beforehand if you wish. The phone itself is in good condition (As it should be after two months of use). If you're in Germany there will still be warranty on it - bought it at Media Markt.
Hope I'll find somebody,

Did not meant to disturb the forum. i just thought, that since the bootloader is unlocked, xda might be the place to sell. People here will understand what it means.

Ya for that you need to post it in the xda marketplace and not in a device specific forum. Read the forum rules please.

Is it a good idea to buy an Xperia P without warranty?

They told me that they would give it for a cheaper price without warranty. Is that a wise idea? 1 year warranty
First of all wrong section
This belongs to ques n ans section
Secondly
Ur answer depends on u
If u get any software problm it can always b corrected bt if its hardware then u need to pay if u dun have warranty
And personal advice
I would have bought it...

I have bought it without warranty for INR 15.5 k i.e. 287$. If your hardware fails, you can always repair it. Hardly there's any problem with the hardware

I am kind of hoping to Root and install ROMs. I am afraid it might get bricked. That is my only fear. usually hardware failures are very rare. Is there some situations that is not possible to fix it again if it was bricked ?

Bricking is hell easy to correct
Unless its a soft Brick which sometimes occurs
All u need to do is flash the official ftf via flashtool
Jz purchase it go ahead

great. but I have heard some stories saying some times phones can be bricked to a level that they can't be fixed/unbricked forever. This is rare i think?
If u do as per instructions ( of installing a rom)
U will b safe
At max u may get a soft brick
Bt if u install a rom of galaxy note on xperia p..... Hehehehe
U wont do that right
And yes thats an extremely rare situation what u wrote about

Well ... I own an Xperia U, and if you ask me, don't go for any electronic device without warranty.
My xperia u developed the infamous "touch screen not detecting in some areas" problem within a few months of buying.
Luckily, mine was within warranty and I got it replaced ASAP. So, for me ... no warranty is not worth buying at all.
I'd also not buy something without a warranty. My W810 had a speaker and camera fail, both can be fixed yourself, but better to get it done proper IMO.
Thinks like mainboard can't be replaced so easily, although they shouldn't fail anyway, depends how much you're paying really.
Or u can test all the hardware there

Hey dude.. Chill. I bought my Xperia U without warranty for a mere 11K INR. I tested much of the hardware there and I knew that software problems can be corrected. I have a sister who has a Galaxy mini and her camera was blurred. She didn't have warranty. She went to the Samsung shop and got it repaired. I had a Huawei ideos u8150. It got stuck in a bootloop because I overclocked it too much. I went into recovery and did a factory reset. That's it. No software issues.. No hardware issues. I would buy it.
By the way does Sony repair your phone if you don't have warranty and are on a custom rom locked /unlocked bootloader? They will charge you. But will they repair it?

I didn't say that every mobile phone on eBay is fake. What I said was that I had a bad experience. When I asked for advice in the eBay Community they said that fake electronics - especially mobile phones - are quite common online and you have to take precautions.
Back to the OP's point, no, I would not recommend buying a phone without a warranty.
