EDIT: Just flashed it VIA ROM Manager, version 5.0.2.3
EDIT2: Erm.. tried to boot into it, no go, my phone just boots up like normal.

ROM Manager now supports Droid X2 and Droid Bionic. You'll need to install @cvpcs's bootstrap first. Official bootstrap coming soon.
EDIT: Correct me if I'm wrong fellas, but I think this is the only bootstrap CVPCS has made. I remember reading in a different thread that someone used it on the x2.

Looks like I have to SBF. A factory reset in stock recovery didn't solve the problem, still stuck on the moto logo.
I recommend holding off on this until an official DX2 Bootstrap apk is released.

Doubtful, when I tried it Tenfar's Bootstrap wasn't even installed on my phone, nor had it previously been installed (had done an SBF a week ago).

There is a ClockWorkMod recovery already... Everyone is waiting for the FXZ files, so when anyone bricks their razr it can be restored back to factory. Until then, not very many people will chance bricking their phones with no way to restore
We don't have an OFFICIAL recovery yet.
Edit: Just trollin through
how about now..
Well, I don't see the clockworkmod recovery yet. Thought I could at least flash that.

Developer HASH has a Safestrap Recovery for the new Droid Razr XT912. You can read about it here:

I have not taken the dive yet. Waiting for the SBF Fast Boot files to be release by Big Red or for a Verizon Employee to leak them -- either one would work for me --LOL.

Just a thought.. I think it would be better if supporting Rom Manager on RAZR as early as now than start porting after a custom ROM becomes available.. Like what the devs did with Clockworkmod even with a very minor issue. (Enters recovery every reboot.)

[Q] ClockWorkMod Install on Droid X2

I've tried several times to install ClockWorkMod on each of two Droid X2 phones. Each time it shows a download of the file but it never installs. I've cleared the ClockWorkMod download directory between tries, but that doesn't help. Is there a trick I'm missing? TIA

Here is our recovery since ROM manager does not work for us

We don't have "official" CWM support
But we do have BSR that works as we need...some things wont work..work is being done to get a full function CWM.
Remember...u will need to be plugged into wall with a charger(usb>computer charge will NOT work)
The BSR hijacks our charge only mode when powered off and.plugged in.
Its the ONLY one we have...gets the job done as far as im concerned for now.
Enjoy!

Introduction to xda

Hi, my name is Travis, I've been a verizon slave since 2009 with the bb storm. Moved to a droid then x and x2. I'm currently on an incredible 2 and I hate it. Through much push and pull, I got to keep my service on the incredible and also keep an x2 along with a free extended battery.
I rooted 2.3.5 on the x2 and now looking into roms. My software learning curve isn't steep so I thought I'd send a shout out to the devs and members here. Looking into finding a great rom for the x2 withing the next few day.
Oh yeah, I'm leaving in a month for basic in the AF, going into cyber surety(basically legal hacking) and looking forward to it.
Thanks for reading, I'll be around!
Welcome. Every one here is awesome and will help if you need it.
Most all x2 roms are built on 2.3.4
Eciplse is on 2.3.5 though, and is a very good, stable rom.
If you want more excitement than try some of the ics, cm9 based roms. Just know that they are buggy and being worked on. Aokp, paranoid android, and of course cm9.
Cm7 is much more stable then th ics builds and could easily work as a Daily driver.
Good Luck.

I was thinking about the eclipse rom, It looks really nice. It will take a bit. I'm still reading and this forum is huge. I haven't found the "how to" thread yet on roms. Sure I'll find it. Thanks for the warm welcome.
I would check out the Cm7 rom thread. It has some good links to the guides you want as far as sbf, root, nandroid backup and bsr(aka cwm recovery).
Eclipse won't let you down.
If there is anything I can help you with, then don't hesitate to pm me.
Sent from my DROID X2 using xda app-developers app
Welcome aboard sir, and as an AF vet good luck with your service and thank you for stepping up.
As for roms you will find much more action happening with the 2.3.4 build as others have already mentioned. CM7 & 9, PA, AOKP are all based on 2.3.4.
You will absolutely want to find the "How to SBF" thread and get setup for doing an SBF. To my knowledge no dx2 has ever been "hard bricked" but "soft bricking" can and does happen which means SBF is your salvation as of course is nandroid backup. And my last piece of advice would be to make a nandroid backup of 2.3.4 Stock/Rooted, particularity if you are a"flashaholic" as some of us are on here...lol
Anyway welcome to the friendliest forum on XDA.
Sent from my MB870 using Tapatalk 2
+1 for eclipse since it is the most stable and sounds like you wont have much time for figuring out any bugs that may occur on the ICS based Roms since you will be serving our country lol. Good luck, and thanks.
Wow. Thanks for all the warm wishes and thanks for pointing me in the right direction. I'll be sure to post back about my Rom upgrade.
I like cm7 for the customizations, I have used eclipse for awhile and it's fantastic as well but i always find myself floating back to cm7. Just curious, there seems to be great roms for the dinc2, what about it did you not like?

First off...welcome! And now on to your question.
After rooting, protecting root with voodoo, and temp unrooting:
Just take the OTA update to 2.3.5 by going to System Updates in Settings-About Phone. Then restore root using voodoo and delete backup.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
System update is the easiest way but to answer your question yes you can just use rsd to get on 2.3.5 b418 because 2.3.5 is now rootable. You don't have to do the long method via voodoo ota rootkeeper any more.

If you have already SBFed and are going to do it that way then yes. Look here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1317707 for any future questions about SBFing or just ask. If you are already on 2.3.5 then there is no need to sbf because you can just root 2.3.5 now.
