Info Mining my Jetstream (hopefully helping devs root it) - HTC Jetstream

[Originally posted in Jetstream General]
So I just got mine, fresh from the store. My permanent device, not the trial unit was using.
Since I love voiding warranties (it's kind of a hobby), I'm going to muck around with the software and see what I can get into. My goal is to stumble across a root method, but I have no idea what I'm doing and will really just be lurking in IRC channels and reading other root guides to see what I can try.
Since I can't post in the development thread yet (stupid lurker status), I'm going to post relevant info here, starting with software versions running on my device.
In Bootloader, I see:
HTC PUCCINILTE PVT SHIP S-ON RL
HBOOT-1.78.0007
eMMC-boot
Standard vol-up/down and power button controls work there, which was to be expected.
Software info:
Android Version: 3.1
HTC Sense version: 1.1 for tablet
Software number: 1.17.502.3
Kernel: 2.6.35.10-g4612ecf
[email protected] #1
Baseband Version: 1.04.550I.15v2_30.60.550I.10L
Build number: 1.17.502.3CL139056 release-keys
adb shows normal information, but adb reboot recovery doesn't work (not surprising)
Running http://revolutionary.io/ shows the following:
Code:
C:\jetstream>revolutionary.exe
=============================================
| Revolutionary S-OFF & Recovery Tool 0.4pre4 |

Note that there's no "unlock" command as with the xoom. I'm wondering if it's disabled somewhere or just a file change somewhere to get the unlock option in there.
http://www.htcdev.com/bootloader/ doesn't give the option to unlock the Jetstream quite yet :-(

In watching logcat, it's constantly trying to connect to AT&T's LTE network. Except that I haven't activated the service and under System Settings I have Mobile Network disabled. I'm sure that's working out great for my battery.

I've joined (and am the only person in) #jetstreamdev on freenode IRC. Come find me there if you want to work with me interactively on this
That's all I've got so far. I'm going to keep digging around in here with adb and such. If anybody has an suggestions (and real devs want to provide insight?) I'll gladly try things out.

Great start looks like there is some telephony built-in as well.

Just got off the phone with HTC, they said that their internal policy is to have the bootloader unlock method on their dev site within 180 days of the device launch.
So, failing the community finding it, HTC will unlock it within the next 5 months.
I've also got a call in to their development team to ask about the process early, we'll see if that gets me anywhere.
Anybody have any other suggestions?

I was talking in a chat with the guys who made Revolutionary a few weeks ago as I got my jetstream on launch day and gave them some info from it. They believe the bootloader version was to old to support the website unlock.

Well I tried some stuff to root it, but got no luck...
Guys did you got the big "*** LOCKED ***" written inside your HBOOT?
I think that the only persons who will be able to help us is Revolutionary team...

Hope someone cracks the code to root it.

I think I just hit a gold mine. I got my hands on a developers Htc jetstream. It's already rooted, with dev tools. I won't leak too much, and considering I don't have access to a USB cable I don't believe I'll be able to info mine. But hopefully this helps.
Some preliminary stuff:
Android Version: 3.1
HTC Sense: 1.1 for tablet
Software version: 1.20.0.0
Kernal Version: [email protected]*snipped* (has information regarding this device, and which one it is) it was built last week of August.

Awesome, cookiesowns! What are the chances you will be able to get at it with a USB cable to grab as much data as possible?

Well, I'll only be playing with the stream for a short days, and the cable is quite expensive. Plus, it's a HTC dev machine, and I can already tell the firmware, kernal, and what not has tag keys, so HTC can track down which machine it was leaked from.
Does anyone know how to access the bootloader though? I tried volume up, down, and both, doesn't seem to enter boot loader.

Volume down during a reboot gets me into fastboot, from there it has an option to reboot into a very basic recovery. Of.coure, using a usb cable with adb works as well.
Does the dev unit not use a normal micro usb cable? I know the cable it comes with looks funny, but a normal micro usb cable works fine as well.

Wow, your fastboot oem command has a lot more options. I'm in IRC now, but don't know how much help I can be, as I'm just getting into this scene myself. I'll be on for the rest of the day, tomorrow is looking bad for my schedule (flying to memphis to set up a convention, then flying back home tomorrow night fir surgery wednesday).
Once thursday rolls around, though, I should have plenty of time to sit around and use the computer :-D

it would be awesome if there was a way to rip and download just that S-OFF bootloader from the device...

Indeed, but we would still need to figure out a way to unlock the device before we could think about flashing the bootloader. I didn't see the unlock command in cookiesowns' "fastboot oem" command still, or anything that looked like it might work.

that's possibily because the bootloader on the puccini doesn't support htc's website unlock tool... like not that it doesn't at the moment, but rather it can't and will not.

you should go on the revolutionary IRC channel and see if there is anything they can get from your device... blocking out serial numbers obv that would allow them to get S-OFF for other tablets.

fastboot oem saveprt2sd hboot -n eng.bin
That will pretty much save the current ENG hboot to your sdcard (which you'd need inserted), so you can upload.
But, as with many factory/eng S-OFF devices, they are of little use in exploiting S-ON.

Awesome, my last day with the device. I'll try that now.
Already got the ENG HBOOT, if any devs or anyone else that wants to have a peek at it, let me know and I'll upload it for them.
Also talked to IEF about backing up the rom, and it's doable. But he doesn't find a necessity or benefit for doing so.

[Q] USB unbrick problem

Hi All,
I tried to usb-unbrick my rooted phone some solutions, but the phone still usb-bricked. The sd card access is working, but the usb works only fastboot. ADB is not working.
I tried this solution http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=751265 but nothing has changed. I flashed the mtd0.img again and again. I have not got error messages and the fatboot oem boot result seems ok.
After this I unrooted the phone to the original stock rom like this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=9889284&postcount=60 , but I still haven't got usb.
I rooted it again with hard work (no adb and usb, only temproot with visionary and terminal command what I used), and I tried some radio image, some rom, but nothing has changed. I still havn't got usb connection.
The fastboot oem boot output:

So I don't know what I have to do. What is the problem? I would be very happy, if somebody could help me.
Thanks!

[Q] HTC One Died from System Update

T-Mobile OTA update crashed my phone. Stops at the White HTC screen, Recovery, Factory Reset etc. did not work. Screen goes black with the red triangle and exclamation point ! Box stock phone no mods etc. Cannot get adb to talk to the phone. The only thing that seems to work is fastboot. I have tried all the recommended drivers for Windows 7 64bit. Any help would be appreciated, I would like to be able to get my pictures and contacts off the phone before sending it back to T-Mobile. Or be able to save it if possible.

Don't give up on it yet, let's try some things first. The black screen with the red triangle is the stock recovery screen when there is an issue otherwise it would have a green triangle. It sounds like the OTA didn't like your setup.
ADB works in OS/Android if USB Debugging is on in Developer's Options or in Recovery.
Your bootloader needs to be locked/relocked to run RUU or firmware when S-ON
Here are the RUU's and OTA to get up to date.
What I would do is flash the firmware 4.19.531.10 first then run the RUU 5.14.531.11. What you really want is for the firmware packages to be consecutive when you are updating.
RUU 3.24.531.3
Stock firmware 4.19.531.10
OTA_M7_UL_K44_SENSE55_MR_TMOUS_4.19.531.10-3.24.531.3_release_351678n41r1lfticqo8m4c.zip
RUU 5.14.531.11
RUU 6.10.531.9
Here are some instructions on how to flash the firmware. Place the firmware in your adb/fastboot folder and rename it firmware.zip or just change the command below to actual firmware name. Boot phone into bootloader/FASTBOOT USB
After that, type:
Code:

NOTE: You should see a silver HTC logo come up on your phone after executing this command.

Thanks majmoz for the reply. I installed the firmware from the link you provided. Still not able to get ADB commands working. Device not found is all I get. Being new at this I could be doing something wrong. Tried recovery again and still get the red triangle. Assume I need ADB commands working to perform the S-OFF locked relocked. I know that before the phone crashed USB debugging was on. When the HTC MTP Device driver tries to install in always fails. Don't know if that matters.

Boot into bootloader/FASTBOOT USB then run the fastboot getvar all again. Check to see if version-main is 4.19.531.10. If it is then you know that the firmware worked. Now I would just run the RUU 5.14.531.11. This will get you back to square one but it may wipe your personal data from the phone.
If you want I can think of one more thing. It is a long shot but it may save your photos and contacts. (As a FYI, I use Google to backup my contacts, apps that way I will not lose them should something happen. In fact, the USB connector on my phone shorted and I could not use it. I just logged into Google and all of my items were back on the temp phone. ) You just need a ROM to push to your phone, this one was made for TMO Users SkyDraon V20.0 TMO or an older version of ARHD 53 or 62. You just want to flash a ROM then boot into OS and remove your personal files. After the files are removed, you can run the RUU. Here is a procedure to accomplish getting the ROM on your phone.

Prerequisites:
You need ADB and FASTBOOT on your computer,
either by installing the Android SDK or Minimal ADB and FASTBOOT
You need to know how to start a fastboot/adb command prompt:
To open a command window prompt, in Windows go to Start Menu --> ''Run'' then type cmd. Change the directory to the ADB folder on your machine:
If using the default install location for the SDK:
Code:
cd C:\adt-bundle-windows-x86_64-<DATE>\sdk\platform-tools
If using the default install location of Minimal ADB and FASTBOOT:
Code:
cd C:\Program Files (x86)\Minimal ADB and Fastboot
Or hold left shift + right click a blank space inside the folder where adb and fastboot are located and select ''Open command window here'' from the contextual menu.

You need TWRP recovery on your device.
We still recommend to use version 2.6.3.3 for all roms
except if another version is specified in the rom OP.
Use 2.7.1.1+ for roms that require "block:by-name" support (CM11)
Unlock bootloader if not already unlocked:
Thanks to Electroz for the video tutorial
Flash TWRP Recovery:
Make sure the recovery.img file is in the same folder where adb and fastboot are located
(C:\adt-bundle-windows-x86_64-<DATE>\sdk\platform-tools or C:\Program Files (x86)\Minimal ADB and Fastboot)
reboot phone in bootloader mode
Flash the recovery:
Code:
fastboot flash recovery name_of_recovery.img
fastboot erase cache
fastboot reboot-bootloader
You need your HTC drivers correctly installed on your PC:
If not, follow this guide (thanks to nkk71):
originally from @nkk71: [GUIDE] [02-MAR-2014] nkk71's SuperGUIDE to returning 100% back to stock
follow the below instructions to fix
Open "Device Manager" -> select the unknown "One" -> right-click -> "Update Driver Software ..." -> "Browse my computer" -> "Let me pick" -> "Android USB Devices" -> select "My HTC ..." -> install that
just in case, HTC Drivers can be found here: [Drivers] HTC Drivers for Windows - Several Versions (credits to @mdmower)
though you should already have them since you have been using your phone anyways
for those who like a visual guide:
okay so I did a fastboot boot command, and as you can see it didnt install correct driver
Open "Device Manager"
there's the culprit
right click and Update Driver Software
select Browse my computer for driver software
select Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer
select Android USB Devices
select My HTC ... (if you have more than one version, choose the latest)
warning, select Yes
successful installation
now it looks better
and can confirm:

Here is a list of the HTC M7 roms. Some other roms can be found here.
Connect your phone to computer using usb cable
(if not using the official HTC USB calble, make sure
you are using a USB data cable and not only a charging
cable. Data cables have 4 contacts: 5V, GND, DATA+, DATA-.
Charging cable only have 5V and GND contact and will not work)
Reboot phone in recovery mode (TWRP):
If phone is booted in OS:
Code:
adb reboot recovery
if not booted or bootlooping, hold power button + volume down until phone boot in bootloader mode
then select BOOTLOADER then RECOVERY using volume up/down to navigate and power button to select.
Make sure your phone is booted in TWRP main menu:
transfer the rom to your /sdcard folder:
Code:
adb push name_of_rom.zip /sdcard/
Wait for the zip file to transfer, this can take several minutes (5-15) and there is no progress bar, the command prompt will be unresponsive for that duration. When the command prompt is responsive again and display how much bytes transferred in X seconds, the transfer is completed:
In TWRP main menu, select ''INSTALL''
Browse the installation menu and select your rom zip file inside /sdcard folder:
Swipe to confirm you want to flash the rom

Thank you again for your time and information majmoz. I verified version-main is 4.19.531.10. Phone still does not respond to ADB commands except a couple of times when it recognized the phone was attached but phone was offline. HTC MTP driver still will not install. I gave up on trying to get anything off of the phone and tried the RUU 5.14.531.11 installation. It will not install as well, it complains the phone is not connected to the USB cable. I think it is toast. I think if I could figure out why the MTP driver fails I would be able to fix it.

I have an idea, have you tried various cables/ports with the same results? Does your phone still charge through the USB port? If yes, maybe either a different computer or using Linux on a USB will help. Here is how you can setup the Linux system on your computer without installing it on your computer:
HOW TO USE LINUX FOR FASTBOOT & ADB VIA USB
This guide originally posted by @Danny201281
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=54272479&postcount=219Linux is your friend; if your drivers are not working the chances of getting them working again without the phone booting are slim. But Linux doesn't need drivers to talk to your device.
Go here: http://www.pendrivelinux.com/ and download Universal USB Installer – Easy as 1 2 3
Then go here: http://releases.ubuntu.com/12.04/ and download Ubuntu from the first link at the top that says PC (Intel x86) desktop CD
Then use these files to create a bootable Linux USB drive with at least a 2 GB persistent file for storing files. You'll also probably need to change your boot settings in the computers bios to boot from USB.
MOVING YOUR FILES TO UBUNTU
Once booted you should be at a screen with options to "Try Ubuntu” or "Install Ubuntu". We don’t need to Install anything so just choose "Try Ubuntu" and the computer will boot to the Ubuntu Desktop (If you get a popup saying "system has encountered an error" or something similar just cancel and ignore it, it should have no effect on what we need to do as it is due to missing Linux OS updates we don’t need). On the left of the screen you'll see the Dock. Open the orange folder icon near the top this is the Home folder. It’s where we need to put any files we need to work with such as a rom.zip you want to push to the device or recovery.img files for flashing.
To get your files here is a simple drag and drop process. In the top left of the Home folder you'll see the drive structure of you pc under devices. Choose your PCs hard drive and Right-Click then" Open in a new window". Locate your .zip or .img files and drag them into the home folder. Now wait for the copy process to complete and rename them for easier typing later, e.g., rom.zip, firmware.zip or recovery.img etc.
USING ADB AND FASTBOOT
First you need to install adb fastboot; this is easy just 3 commands in the terminal. Thanks to Webupd8 team.
Code:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:nilarimogard/webupd8
Code:
sudo apt-get update
Code:
sudo apt-get install android-tools-adb android-tools-fastboot
Make sure your connected to the internet and press Ctrl+Alt+T to open the terminal then type or copy and paste the above commands one at a time waiting for each to complete their output. It may seem to have stopped at times but be patient when the prompt returns to normal enter the next command and when there all done you’re ready to use adb and fastboot.
Once you've moved all the files you need to the home folder that’s it you’re ready to go. Close everything down on the desktop (optional) and press Ctrl+Alt+T this will open the terminal now connect your phone with the USB cable. All fastboot commands need to have the "sudo" prefix added at the start, e.g.
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img becomes sudo fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot devices becomes sudo fastboot devices
However, adb should work basically the same as on windows. If you do have problems with normal adb commands adding “sudo” can help here as well.

If Linux works, you can move your personal files off of your phone by just copying the files to your computer. Your next question how can I run the RUU.exe on Linux. Well, you can not but you can extract the two Rom zips from the RUU. Then you can flash them in Linux using the fastboot oem rebootRUU mode.
How to extract the ROM.zips from RUU 5.14.531.1.EXEOnce you've started the RUU 5.14.531.1.EXE, it will have created a temporary directory in %TEMP%, and within that folder you will find a 1GB+ file called ROM.ZIP <- this is the full ruu.zip which you can flash using Linux.
After starting the RUU 5.14.531.1.EXE, when it's on the first screen and before you select Next, in Windows Explorer type %TEMP% in the search box that will jump you to the folder, sort by date modified, and find the newest folder within that, it's going to have a weird long alpha numeric name, and within that you'll find plenty of files, but one very large file called ROM_02.ZIP and ROM_01.zip, those are the ones you want.
Click to collapse
You will flash these like you flashed the firmware. Flash ROM_01 first, twice if it failed the first time. Then ROM_02 without rebooting. If It fails the first time, then flash it again. Something like this:
Code:
fastboot oem rebootRUU
fastboot flash zip RUU_ROM_01.zip
fastboot flash zip RUU_ROM_01.zip
fastboot flash zip RUU_ROM_02.zip
fastboot reboot-bootloader
Yes, I have tried 2 cables and 3 computers all Windows 7 one 32bit. All with the same problems. I will try the Linux option. Sounds like that will be my best bet to try and save the phone. I'll let you know if it works. Found out that T-Mobile will not warranty it (expired in May) even though their update crashed it. Looking at getting a Galaxy Note 4, I need a phone right away as I use it for work as well. Thanks again majmoz would have been lost without your assistance.
I have the phone up and running finally. I ended up with the latest TMO RUU on my phone. I am still unable to get ADB to see the phone and would like to know what I am doing wrong., so if you could tell me what mode or state the phone needs to be in for ADB to work I would appreciate it. I don't see the USB debugging option anymore with the new ROM. I don't know if it matters but when I boot into recovery I still get the red triangle with the exclamation point. Thanks again!

You have to enable USB Debugging in Developer's Option: http://htc-one.wonderhowto.com/how-to/enable-usb-debugging-your-htc-one-0151177/
ADB will work if the phone is in the OS/Android and USB Debugging is enabled. ADB also works when the phone is in Recovery Mode with a custom recovery.
You do not have a custom recovery installed if you see the red triangle, that is stock recovery. You will have to flash the custom recovery in bootloader/FASTBOOT USB:
Code:
fastboot flash recovery name_of_recovery.img
fastboot erase cache
fastboot reboot-bootloader
Same issue but version-main is weird...

When turn on my phone, I get the HTC One logo in green letters, and white background.. and thats all...
When I tried to turn on in fastboot mode, it turns on.. and changes has fastboot usb, but always I tried to install something, return the "verification failed" message.
Please Help!
Ps. @Dead0ne can you please share the TMO RUU you use to recover your phone?

You can try this RUU 6.10.531.09 it looks to match you have posted.
You will need to lock your bootloader if it is not already locked. You can lock it with the following command:
Code:
fastboot oem lock
Sorry I don't know what could have caused the strange characters.
Thanks @majnoz, I`ll try with that one.
Just one doubt... Should I flash the firmware or I just run the ruu...?
Thanks!

If you have the firmware you can try to flash it and see if it solves your issue, if not then try the RUU. And you can find the updated RUU 6.10.531.10 here.

doesnt sound very nice
try running RUU again (though i would prefer a "htc_fastboot oem rebootRUU" flash, but that involves a few things, so maybe a waste for now)
anyway, run RUU, make sure it succeeds (you can also pull the ruu log from "C:\ruu_log" folder), then boot up, if it hangs, force reboot to bootloader, and:
Code:
fastboot oem last_dmesg
and post that log (increase your command prompt buffer size if necessary)
EDIT: question: is/was/were you, encrypting your device??

Thanks @nkk71, I did has you suggest.
Install de RUU again, it was sucessfull, agains shows the congrats message. A curious thing is that no log file was created in c:/ruu_log... Eventough there is another log from earlier months or dates.

you should increase the buffer size on your command prompt, the output, doesnt show the initial last_dmesg output which would show any emmc errors
Question: do you have "active cmdline overflow (xxxx bytes)" showing in bootloader? (towards the bottom)

About the question.. no.. There is no message regarding cmd overflow. I'm attaching a picture of the display, from the bootloader and the fastboot screens.
Regards!
Hi @cschmitt, I checked this post, were you publish a generic misc partition. I dont know if it will help in my case, but for what I've seen, the problem it's kind of similar.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2739126
I dont know if you some time to check my problem, any suggestion its very welcome. Until now @nkk71 is helping me. Either way, i dont wont to give up on my phone so I'm looking for every help I can. Thanks in advance.
Well, I've unlocked the phone by HTCdev, and flash the recovery with no BCB:
./fastboot flash recovery twrp-recovery-2.7-m7-nobcb.img
target reported max download size of 1514139648 bytes
sending 'recovery' (11278 KB)...
OKAY [ 1.423s]
writing 'recovery'...
OKAY [ 0.827s]
finished. total time: 2.250s
Click to collapse
Then reboot in bootloader, and access to recovery. and I'm receiving error in mounting the /data and /system partition.
E: Could not mount /data and unable to find crypto footer
E: Unable to mount '/data'
E: Unable to recreate /data/media folder
Updating partition details...
E: Unable to mount '/data'
E: Unable to mount '/system'
E: Unable to mount internal storage
E: Unable to mount /data/media during GUI startup
E:: Unable to moount /data/media/TWRP/.twrps when trying to read settings file
E: Unable to find storage partition to mount to USB
And that the step i still can't get passed. I don't know what to do to recover all the filesystem...
Any ideas?

I noticed, that in Settings > System > Developer options > OEM unlocking is not set to 'On'!
After each Restart the set to 'On' gets lost!
This could explain mentioned result:

How can I keep my OEM unlocking setting, or is there a way to enter Fastboot without restart?
Thank you!

How can I keep my OEM unlocking setting, or is there a way to enter Fastboot without restart?
Thank you!

You can try a factory reset or LMSA's Flash Rescue option

Sorry, it took a while, since I first had to obtain another phone; btw. Moto Z play, meanwhile rooted.
Factory reset didn't work.
I need to see, whether LMSA exe can run on Ubuntu. Never had a Windoze PC.
Thanks anyway.

What software channel is it on?
It should be in getvar all as carrier:
And in settings/about phone
Something like RetUS or RetLA or Att
Sorry it's RetEU
Code:
ro.carrier: reteu
Which should be good for unlocking.
Have you tried leaving it connected to wifi to see if there is an update?
Sometimes there is a time delay for the OEM unlock toggle.
the device may need to connect to Wifi during that time.

Forgot password for my Lenovo Yoga YT-X705F, how to unlock?

Hey everyone,
I got a Lenovo tablet from my friend's company. The employer who has set it up left the company. Now they can't do anything with the tablet.
How can I completely reset the device and delete all passwords?
------
I was able to boot into fastboot, but couldn't do anything there:
./fastboot devices
HA11GFCA fastboot
./fastboot oem unlock-go
FAILED (remote: 'oem unlock is not allowed')
fastboot: error: Command failed
./fastboot flashing unlock
FAILED (remote: 'oem unlock is not allowed')
fastboot: error: Command failed
------
I was also able to boot into Android Recovery. I successfully wiped the cache partition and did wipe data/factory reset. The tablet keeps asking for the password if I boot it.
I tried adb sideload with https://mirrors.lolinet.com/firmware/lenovo/Yoga_Smart_Tab/YT-X705F/ but got the instant error: adbd status 1 installation aborted.
How can reset the tablet to set it up from scratch? I don't care about any data. Just want to be able to use the tablet. I have no access to the tablet, so I won't be able to toggle the unlock oem button in settings or anything like this...

May someone does have any advice?
thanks in advance!
If you can access tablet's Android OS by means of ADB then to remove tablet's FRP-lock you can try this ADB-command sequence - one by one:
Code:
adb devices
adb shell "am start -n com.google.android.gsf.login/"
adb shell "am start -n com.google.android.gsf.login.LoginActivity"
adb shell "content insert --uri content://settings/secure --bind name:s:user_setup_complete --bind value:s:1"
adb reboot

Thanks for your answer. Unfortunately, I'm unable to send adb commands. The only option available is the "Apply update from ADB" in recovery mode.
There I can run "adb devices", which shows:
HA11GFCA sideload
If I try to enter "adb shell..." I got "error: closed"
Any further ideas?
ADB Sideload is used to flash Stock ROMs.
BTW:
If USB-debugging (aka ADB) is enabled on your tablet, then when your unconnected tablet got booted into Stock Recovery
Code:
adb reboot recovery
you of course - after connecting PC with tablet - you can run on PC
Code:
adb shell "<COMMAND-HERE>"
commands.

Well, that's the thing here... ADB is not enabled.
I'm in Android Recovery where I have the following options:
Reboot system now
Reboot to bootloader (this get's me to fastboot)
Apply update from ADB (which is only ADB sideload, can't send adb commands there)
Apply update from SD Card
Wipe data/factory reset (already did twice)
Wipe cache partition (already did twice)
Mount /system
View recovery logs
Run graphics test
Run locale test
So basically, the question is:
What do I have to do, to be able to use the tablet again?
How can I enable ADB without having access to the tablet?
Can I enable it with fastboot?
My recommendation: Re-flash tablet's Stock ROM.
FYI:
An Android device can run in one of these modes
Normal ( Android OS )
Recovery
Fastboot ( Bootloader )
Sideload
