Ive been using Glitch V12 (20110720-HL) for a while now with CM7. I stuck with this version because BLN (without app) and sensors work. I tried going to the newer releases but when using GrooveIP, I temporarily lose sound when the screen goes off while im in a call and doesnt come back until I turn the screen back on. Is this the screen state scaling? If so, any recommendations of what governor to use to that I wont get cut off but is also good on battery?
Thanks
If it is something that happens a lot, try either ondemand or disabling screenstate scaling completely.

Thanks for the quick response. Wasnt expecting to have an answer 'til I woke up. I will reflash back to the latest CM7 and Glitch tomorrow and report back.
Well, I flashed the latest Glitch kernel (9-23) along with CM7 (nightly 59) and its not doing it at all. When it did it before was on kernel 9-06. Did that build have a different default screen off governor or maybe it had something to do with the proximity sensors not working and the auto off screen kicking in after about 30 seconds, which is when the sound would stop before?

I decided "hey, I should probably update my MIUI" so I wiped data / cache / dalvik a million times, and installed Ricks MIUI.
I have no LED notifications for texts or whatever it may be, however before I upgraded I did. I see that in the new menu there is no "Trackball" or "LED notification" in the system settings anymore. I downloaded BLN to enable it and still nothing.
I just want my led to light up when I have a text or whatever.
Thanks!
Sometimes upgrading turns out worse than before. What version did you upgrade from, and is Rick's version different than the official releases over at MIUI?
I have rick's 12.9 MIUI and I am using BLN Control Pro and it is working.

Hm, I've tried BLN control (free) and blinky from the market and had mixed results. Blinky worked well, and allowed more control over the notification, but seemed to have a battery drain issue. BLN control only worked for one notification and stopped working after that.. I'm assuming you're running the glitch kernel that Rick's MIUI comes with?
I'm using Glitch V13 with Ricks MIUI, so yes. Before I had a JT kernal from 11/09 or something like that which worked perfectly
I think it might be kernel related then, I think I remember seeing sixstringsg say that there were going to be some changes to BLN in the next glitch release that should fix things. I suppose if you really need it, use that jt kernel. Personally, I couldn't deal with the color and lack of ability to change it with voodoo control on that kernel.
Glitch13 has the BLN notification bug, and CM7.1 has the in-call volume bug. Pick your poison.
Hi guys,
I am currently on Checkrom v4 with darky kernel. Most of the time, when i open the phone from a sleep state or screen of state, the screen will not respond to unlock gesture. I have to turn the unit off for at least 2 times before the screen would eventually respond. Sometimes, when turn it of again, the will just turn black but with button lights open. Then after i turn it off again, the screen will eventually light up and respond.
I also have experience this with other samsung roms such as criskelo, batista which is why i always flash back to Cm7 wherein I don't experience this. BTW, i also dont seem to remember experiencing this on CM9... your thoughts would be appreciated... TIA
yeah buddie.i am facing the excact the same problem.............
dont know how to get rid of this........
Maybe it's kernel related?

Happens to me too with Siyah 2.6.11.
Maybe it's undervolting.

This used to happen to me when I had a screen off profile enabled on SetCPU. If you're using SetCPU, try disabling it to see if that solves the problem.
I think i've found out what's causing this... it's the touch screen tune app... after.I removed this, it seems to be not freezing upon wake up of the device... HTH

What govenor are you using?
I'm new to the SGS2. Coming from my old SGS1 running ICS I couldnt go back to gingerbread.
Leaked ICS on SGS2= No custom kernels BUT!...
With root access and NS tools app you can tweak stock "Ondemand" govenor. Its at 100000micro seconds which is 10th of a second stock sampling rate. This is SLOW. Couple with waking from sleep and known On-demand delay issues I think this might be the culprit... Cant wait for sources
This topic will be posted and discussed bugs CM7.2 by FAT. I did not give a GitHub bugtracker because the mode is more convenient forum to work with users.

Latest Google Maps not working (according to reports, haven't tested), this is an important app!!!
A Github available so you can share your code. Android is open-source, and it is important that you share your fixes with the community, not just compile "closed" ROMs!!!

Same here..And I don't know why CM touch screen sensitivity always have different 'feel' compared to stock ROM, without notice I'm always touch the screen more tightly to prevent miss touch. I think you guys understand well
Ps. Since this ROM is nearest to official then I'll tell more CM bug:
The bass sound's ugly than stock. You can check with mort player with same equalizer (without DSP mgr of course). Also the equalizer freq change from 5 freq (stock) to 6 freq (CM) and if you slide bass booster on mort, the sound more awkward
Um..oh. Laggy gallery! LOL

Not only for messages but when someone is talking to you in WhatApp and others, with all notifications. I think this is to warn you that something happened when the phone was in standby. It's not a bug imo.
The same thing happens with others CM7 roms that I've tested and the AOSP too.
but until you use them do not light. remember that in another CM7 ROM, this does not happen if I went to Settings-> CyanogenMod-> Interface-> LED Notification, except that in this rom, there is no menu Led Notification
is a very good rom but i have a problem, i test smartass, v2, conservative and never enter in deep sleep always 245mhz (my min frequency).
ps: sorry my bad english.

That is common..
Market does not get updated to the latest version. In earlier CM versions, it used to get updated.
Market.
*edit Fixed the problem with market icon
Great ROM so far.
text messaging touch goes rumbled, maybe coz of sensitivity... hope to fix it on next release  more power to Frozen Ace Team...
After two days of usage, I would like to report that this ROM has battery drain issues. Much more than the vo-1 version of CM 7.2
wifi?
Wifi does not work for me. It doesnt scan. When I turn it on in the notifications bar it just turns itself off again after a minute or so.
In the settings the same thing happens. (sometime here it even force-closes)
I found this in the ROM-Thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1263292):

Wi-Fi works fine, but when you turn it ON you can`t see all points, as on stock FW. You must go to the Wireless setting and insert your password there."
When I tried several times to type in the password and SSID it still didnt connect and just turned wifi off again.
Unfortunaly, this link http://forum.cyanogenmod.com/topic/41455-cyanogenmod-7172-samsung-galaxy-ace/ does not work for some reason. (maybe just my computer...)
just checked, it worked: link is not helpfull
I have a question about the proximity sensor on the galaxy s2, mine is lit all of the time even when I press the power button to shut the screen off. Is this normal? I am running SHOStock 1.9.2 and Slyah 2.6.12 I have reflashed a couple of times and cleared the cache.
One more thing I think I found a possible bug in the flashlight toggle, if you rotate the screen with the flashlight on the toggle shuts off but the light stays on so you have to press the toggle twice to turn the light off.

I'm running SHOStock 1.9.2 and have neither of these problems. I even intentionally tried to get the flashlight toggle to break, but it work regardless of the orientation.
I'm not sure how long the sensor has been lit since it is so dim you can only see it in a dark room but I'm pretty sure it wasn't on the stock rom and maybe the first SHOStock rom I loaded which I believe was 1.9.0. The flashlight toggle issue has been there on all three SHOStock roms I have loaded.

I can't speak for the previous SHOStock versions as my first was v1.9.2.
I was coming from UCKH7 Stock (w/ Slyah 2.6.12 kernel). I did a full wipe and flashed v1.92.
I've only been running it for 3 days now, but overall i'm pleased. I did notice the following (not really issues, but a little annoying).
1. I had a random reboot within the first 24 hours of flashing.
2. I don't really care for the Auto Brightness changes (Lowered Auto Brightness a little and added 2 levels that make the changes less abrupt). I use Auto Brightness exclusively and it seems to low and a little choppy when changing.
3. I've gotten stuck in screen capture mode (home + power) twice. I know the screen capture is a feature, but I've got it to stick where I only need to press the power key (not the home + power combo). I'm not sure if this is a feature or a bug, or maybe I'm just a noob.

You are not the only person having an issue with screen cap, tho I do believe it is due to the kernel you're running and not the Rom. A quick search should pull up a bunch of info for you

S2monkey,
Thanks for the tip. I'll do a search and see what I can dig up.

My phone stopped rotating so I flashed back to 1.9.1 (only version I had on my phone at the time). The orientation problem was fixed and I also noticed the proximity sesor was no longer lit. I flashed 1.9.2 and the sensor is lit again, reverted the kernel back to 2.6.11 with no change then flashed the 1.9.1 ROM and the sensor is still lit. I have no idea what caused it to go out the first time I reverted back to 1.9.1 or how to proceed. Does it really make any difference whether it is lit or not? I would think it would impact the battery life so any thought or ideas would be appreciated.

I just updated from cm7 to cm9 and it's great. I used the latest SKankwich rom and the latest icy glitch kernel. However I had no bln which is important to me. I tried using version 3 of icy glitch as well as siriyah and the apps nstools, bln control, and extweaks in different combinations but nothing works.
Can someone tell me what to use and walk me through the process step by step? Maybe I'm not erasing the right stuff. I'm willing to start from stock. Thanks!
I read somewhere that I should be able to get the bln to work if I use an older version of icy glitch but I'm not sure which one to use.
Again, can someone walk me through this from stock? I can get to cwm but after that I'm not sure the proper order of applying things to get this to work.
The end goal is if I get a text or other notification, I don't want the soft keys to turn off at any point until I check that message. Whatever kernel gets me there on cm9
Icyglitch version 3? The latest version is B6.
Yeah it's up to 6. But on 6 I got no bln. Maybe I got bad info but I read someone say that the last time icy glitch was compatible with bln was version 3 or 4
Just throwing this out there too. No matter what I do, my screen won't rotate. All the right boxes are checked under display...
I don't have any of these issues.
As for rotation, you may need nova or apex. Look under launcher settings for rotation there.
Use nstools to set led notifications. They work perfectly here.
Did you wipe data prior to flashing the ics rom?
Sent from my SCH-I500 using xda premium
Yes I believe I wiped data. Did factory reset, wipe cache, wipe dalvik.
Looking at nstools, my led timeout was set to 0. I thought that meant it would never timeout. I just set it to 1800. Think that was the problem?
Also what is cmled?
