There is a problem with Adobe PDF app in the Touchpad. When you zoom in the pdf doesn't scale well the file and it sees blurred.
Is there any other app or a way to fix it?
There is isn't an app, but there is a manual fix that you can apply. Head over to precentral forums and read the following thread on how you can improve the pdf's zoomed in resolution.
here's the relevant post in that thread posted by user sagipe
Sure. I resubmitted the patch- otherwise it would probably be in Preware by now (forgot something in the .patch file, so it got rejected).
If you have Internalz installed, browse to:
/media/cryptofs/apps/usr/palm/applications/com.quickoffice.ar/source/PxxArea.js
and open the file in the editor.
Goto line 156 where it says:
this.pageZoom = this.calculateZoom(this.pageWidth, this.pageHeight, 1200, 1200);
and change it to:
this.pageZoom = this.calculateZoom(this.pageWidth, this.pageHeight, 1800, 1800);
Save the file, and restart Luna (you can do that from the Preware menu), or restart your Touchpad if you don't have Preware installed.
If you don't like the result- try increasing the resolution a bit: keep in mind that changing from 1200 to 1800, resulted in x2 PNG file size (from 300KB to 600KB per page). That's because the numbers in that line go to a function which calculates a zoom level between 5 and 500. This number depends on your specific PDF height and width. You could potentially change the line to:
this.pageZoom = 250;
to enforce a resolution not dependent on your PDFs. Haven't tested it, but it should work fine.

I use 2000 for the page zoom and I no longer have any blurry pdfs, but you can change it to suit your needs.

Hello all,
APOD Astronomy Picture of the Day Browser Description;
Note: When installed on SD Card then, after a hard reset of your device, one does not have to reinstall this application. Creating a link manually to it is enough.
The APOD browser is simple software for the purpose of quering NASA fantastic, unparalleled Astronomy Picture of the Day site. This tool allows searching the site by date, by a keyword or by the site editor's choice. A online connection is required for this application to work.
How to Use:
You can query APOD in basically three modes:
1. By Date
Select a date to view the APOD of that date. Since the first APOD image was presented on June 16, 1995, the calendar is limited to between June 16, 1995 and Today.
2. By Keyword
Enter a keyword of your choice and tap on [Search]. Make sure to avoid too common keys, such as 'moon', 'planet', etc. This would result in too many hits, since each occurance of that search string in APOD's texts will be output as result and is often not related to what you wish to explore.
3. By Choice
This mode searches the editor's choices for the most educational Astronomy Pictures of the Day. Simply select an item from the combo box. Each choice yields three to five hits as so well selected by the authors of APOD.
After closing the settings screen, tap on the GO menu to download the selected image and text. Tap on the image for a shrunk view that fills the screen without scrollbars.
Tap and hold on the image to open a context menu.
# Image info: shows image size.
# Negative image: turns the image negative and back positive.
# Save Image and Text: saves the current image (negative or positive) to a subfolder named 'saved', including the explanation text. Please note that devices running Pocket PC 2003(SE) cannot save JPEG images, but large BMPs only (o/s limitation). You may wish to manually reduce the color depth of BMPs to 256 colors to save space. WM devices save images as JPEG, mostly staying under 100KB.
# Select another Image: turns to the Settings screen.
You can browse saved images with the cursor keys:
# Right key: one image forward
# Left key: one image back
# Up key: goes to the last image
# Down key: goes to the first image
# Center key: goes to the midmost image
:END
As mentioned in the post below (I totally forgot to C/P the link here) *cough* here is the link to APOD;
Astronomy Picture of the Day: http://antwrp.gsfc.nasa.gov/apod/astropix.html
Recently I visited this web page http://www.alfcen.com/pocket/apod.html and download from there an PPC (ActiveSync) unfriendly *.exe.
EDiT: currently the above page is not reachable anymore. Use http://www.requio.com/pocket/apod.html instead.
I really do dislike ActiveSync installs, therefore I extracted it to APOD.CAB (see attachment). IMHO this way more people here on xda can enjoy this nice program too BTW I'm in no way affiliated with this site.
It runs in VGA, so when you too have a WVGA screen, you'll see the background border... If you do not want that then I suggest to use WVGAFIX3.

You must be one of narrow kind of real PDA users.
For quite a while I wondered how to edit my 3D photos, not anything too crazy just things like adjusting the contract, saturation, etc.. By default it seems that our camera captures 3D photos in mpo format, which is not possible to edit as easily as a jpeg in a photo editor. HOWEVER, if you set the format to jps, you can now edit them in any photo editor that can edit jpeg files!! Apparently jps files are just jpeg files with the right and left images side by side. I have attached a sample I did, for upload I had to set the file extension to jpg because jps wouldn't allow a file size over 97kb?! Anyhow I did this one in PicSay Pro but you can of course get more creative and use Photoshop or my favorite, GIMP. It's VERY EASY to do and very fun. For the longest time I didn't know how to do this so I thought I'd post this info for the others like me that didn't know. I was able to open the file for editing without changing the extension from jps to jpg/jpeg, HOWEVER the photo editing applications if they don't recognize or allow you to save it as a "jps" file extension just save it as a normal jpeg/jpg and then manually change the extension to jps and you will be able to view it in 3D like normal on your EVO 3D. ENJOY!!!!!!!
UPDATE:
You can now even edit your MPO 3D images, from your phone, but you have to convert them to SIDE BY SIDE JPEG first, and you can use this great program to do it! Tobidale3D!
Here's how:
1. Install Tobidal3D.
2. View your MPO 3D image from the regular Gallery*.
3. Select SHARE for the photo you want to convert, select Tobidale3D, then select SHARE AS 3D*.
4. Press MENU, then select Parallel Stereo Format (see attached).
*Optional method: You can just open Tobidale3D and view all your pics with it directly then save from there, but I think using the gallery is easier.
Now you can edit the newly saved file as it's converted to a side by side jpeg jps file (it has a jpeg/jpg extension). The rest of the original editing instructions apply.
Awesome editor! I would recommend in addition to PicSay Pro, which costs about 4 bucks, you can use Pixlr-o-matic. It's free and works great and creates high res images, unlike some editors. The default native editor apparently saves in the exact same resolution as the original file. So that's another option if you want to keep full resolution and if you're happy with the editing effects offered by it.
I have attached a zip file with the original MPO file, the file converted to SBS, one edited with the native gallery editor (High Contrast option), then 8 images edited with Pixlr-o-matic. I have optimized the jps files using GIMP on my PC for the sake of file size for this thread, usually however the pics were about a meg in size each.
Hope you guys enjoy editing your 3D pictures!!!!!!!!
Awesome man Thanx....
Nice,I got some work to do now lol

Conversion
Sorry if it's off topic a bit (which it is, or I wouldn't say that right?), but I can't find the result I'm looking for ANYWHERE. I just got an Aiptek 3D Camcorder, and it takes pictures not in .JPS, not in .MPO, but a regular side by side .JPG! I'm trying to find an online tool, or application (I'm on a Mac but I could probably run it in CrossOver if it's a Windows app) to convert FROM .JPG to either .MPO or .JPS. The end result is I want to create a wiggle animated GIF so that I don't need glasses to show people 3D pictures I've taken, so if someone even knows of a process to convert from .JPG to an animated GIF wiggle that would be even better. Thanks in advance!

Rename the jpg files to JPS. Viola! JPS is the same as JPG just has the JPS extension to show it's a STEREO (S) Jpeg. There is an application for windows to convert stereo images here:
http://stereo.jpn.org/eng/stphmkr/
Good luck!
Hi , I'm new here.
As I'm graphic designer (Large Format printing store) , its hard 4 me to see the 8~12MP cameras images that are pretty useless as large images! they lake all the details, no sharpening or aggressive sharpening, and very aggressive noise redaction algorithms.
I was wandering I we can make small camera apk that will take photos via the camera apk we choose, shoot at highest MP and than take the pic and do the following actions:
sharpening(normal)
Img downsize to 50% Via Bicubic sharper method (no need those useless large images)
sharpening(normal)
add noise - in Photoshop its 2%, Uniform, Monochromatic (bcz images are too smooth and unrealistic)
and save image.
in this simple method we will get more realistic, detailed images in effective size.
those are simple filters that I believe can work on android (?) there are java software with those filters http://www.jhlabs.com/ip/filters/

Yes, that´s possible.

Moving to Q&A
sorry I didn't know- I assumed it was related to developing section.
If this possible who can help to make it happen?
Is it hard to code?
all that the apk need to do is receive image file from existing camera apk and add sharpening filter downsize it to 50% of the MP,
this way we would have great shots with our cameras!
How do I convert phone resolution Bootanimation to tablet resolution?
Pretty simple question...
I have 4 boot animations that I want to convert to work on my Nexus 10 full screen.
Also, anyone able to edit http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2159544 to show 10 instead of 4 or completly remove the number so it works nicely on both my Nexus 4 and Nexus 10.
Thanks
- Hyflex
You can't do it directly, so you need to:
Decompress the bootanimation.zip file. You'll get 2 folders (each one with a bunch of images) and a desc.txt file.
Modify the resolution of the images (yeeeees... all of them. I recommend to use a batch-resizer tool, like Fotosizer). Obviously the images will lost quality, it depends of the resizer tool you use, and it can't be avoided.
Open desc.txt, and modify the first line. Change the first two numbers to the desired resolution (768 1280 24 means 768x1280 pixels at 24 fps).
Finally, compress all into a zip file again. Set the compress mode to store (or the compression level to 0), otherwise your bootanimation will not work.
