Best modem to use in Spain? - Vibrant Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm wondering what modem should I use in my country since my ISP uses the 900/2100MHz bands for 3G. I know the European version of the Galaxy S can use 900mhz for 3G, but the Vibrant?
The 900 band uses way less energy and it's better coverage.
Please, tell me your thoughts on this.
Thanks.

[Q] German SGSII

Simple question,
Does the German version SGSII, MPN GT-I9100LKAXEU work on ATT 850/2100 HSDPA network? Or for that matter all bands on HSDPA.
Thanks
R2142
Att hspa network is 850\1900, so if it has this bands then it will work.

Can anyone tell me for certain that this phone has the 850 band for HSDPA?
I cant find any definite tech specs that specify.

that model will work in tmo with 3g, it works in a network similar in mexico
Should work with 3g T Mobile.
I am currently using it with AT&T 3G........and it works perfectly.
Just had to set the APN settings manually.

T-Mobile USA uses AWS (1700/2100) Bands, the LT26i being sold everywhere so far (except somewhere in Japan for Docomo network) has 850/900/1900/2100 bands so it's impossible it will work on T-Mobile 3G. I read there were some small areas where T-Mobile was working with AT&T antennas for some iPhone users (some kind of roaming after the failed acquisition?, nothing confirmed) so that could be your only chance on getting 3G T-Mobile connection with this phone.
so what u try to say is that this xps version can work on at&t 3g network?
YES IT CAN, I got mine and yes you have to enter the APN manually. Mine went straight to hspa doesnt show ATT logo either, just eh H
AWESOMENESS!!!! I love this phone to date more than any other device, i had had my share from apple to droid

No it won't. It doesn't support 1700. Unlike most carriers (who operate on an either OR basis if they use multiple frequencies) T-Mobile US uses both 1700 and 2100 (one for uplink and one for downlink) for their 3G service. If it doesn't support both frequencies you will not get 3G service (as you will be missing either the uplink or the downlink). This device does not support 1700.
DOESN'T WORK ON TMO 3G. YOU WOULD ONLE PICK EDGE. AND IT DOES WORK ON AT&T I KNOW SO CAUSE I'M USING IT AND PICK UP H

i really like the XPERIA S but too bad it doesnt work with tmobile 3G... i guess my only chance is have my tmobile sim card in my current X10 to do hotspot to my XPERIA S for fone calls and everything...
still using tzone $5.99 grandfather plan for 3G speed... the fastest i get is about 5Mbps download
It should work if you flash LT26a firmware (USA frequency baseband).
Im not aware of any lt26a. The only north american Xperia S is the Xperia Ion which is not available yet.

LT26a doesn't exist (so far)...

Then there's nothing you can do until device is released... unless there's some LT26a firmware available somewhere already...

You're also assuming that the *hardware* in that device (which doesn't even exist yet) supports 1700/2100 (which neither the LT26i or LT26a ever listed 1700 as a supported frequency).

Then it probably isn't intended for networks which use 1700 frequency.

Which is what this thread is about, a network that requires 1700 mhz for 3g service, and why it's unlikely to work by flashing a new baseband.

[Q] Can I Change GSM bands to 900/1800?

I was wondering if it were possible to use my phone in China this summer. The network I would like to use (China Mobile) is using the GSM bands 900/1800. Is there any way to convert my phone to use those bands?
Thanks.
No. The radio/modem only works on the manufacturer specified frequencies.
Um. The i717 is quadband GSM and it supports 850/900/1800/1900 2g or GSM.
Of course it will work! But only on 2g and only if unlocked.

I see, I looked it up as well and it seems as though it supports the following bands:
2G Network GSM 850/1800/1900
3G Network HSDPA 850/900/1700/1900/2100
Hopefully I'll be able to just plug it in and go. I've networked unlocked my phone, but are there are any other limitations set by AT&T for usable bands?

[Q] Will this phone work with Simple Mobile?

So it's a bit of a noob question, but as a current owner of an international SII on Simple Mobile that doesn't have 3G, I was wondering if this variant (or any of the U.S./Canada variants) will work on Simple Mobile's 3G network (1700/2100 AWS band). Thanks a lot for your time
EDIT: Found an answer. If anyone else ever has this question, buying a T-Mobile SGSIII (SGH-T999) will allow you to connect to Simple Mobile's 3G/4G network.
Best bet would check the different model variants on gsmarena mate it tells you what bands the devices use unless someone already knows of course lol

No. It does not have the 1700 band.

4g lte

Im in Charleston WV where AT&T is 4g lte does our Atrix support or can?
Nope
Hit the damn thanks button instead!

for the Atrix, 4g means HSPA+, wich is another 3g frequency. This phone was released before LTE.
