Zumocast - Motorola Droid X2

Hello fello forum members,
As some of you might have read, I'm rocking the bionic now. However, I love this community so I'll still be around - and I want to share something if I can.
Zumocast. This is awesome. Similar to Moto phone portal (I think- never used it) in the sense that you can access your computer.
With zumocast, I can grab any file from my computer at any time. I can stream all of my music, grab a work file I forgot, or install an apk I have on my desktop. It is SOLELY my music player now, as I have my entire library available to me without a single file on my phone. Talk about memory savings boys and girls...
I don't want to blindly post the file because I don't know if it will play nice. Does any dev/amateur dev want the file to see if they can make it work? It might work fine, but I'm not going to risk bricking anybody, unless they ask for it
It's the bees knees folks. Highly recommended.

Sounds pretty cool! Be neat if some one did get it working!
I use Google Music for music though, can have up to 20,000 songs, I uploaded 11,000+. Works great. But i like the thought of grabbingbstuff off ky computer anytime anywhere!

Pulled this off a D3 dump a while back and pushed it to system Apps. I agree it is sweet, and does run on the X2. Just doesn't update in market. Works fine for me now so really don't care about any update.
Edit: I emailed support asking why the X2 wasn't on the compatible list. It's been a month, no response, imagine that.

Nice! I didn't know it was on the D3. Yeah man, I'm loving it. Good to know it works fine. I'll upload it now.

I'll stick with SFTP.

Secure FTP (encrypted FTP basically). I have a linux server at my house that hosts all of my media.. etc, and I access anything at home or away from home this way. I do not trust motorola what-so-ever.

So funny, Zumocast support replied back stating someone must of rewrote their program to make work on the X2. I replied "No just installed it and it worked". They replied "They will look into support for the X2"

Installed and ignore the update request. Works great.

does anyone have a link to the zumocast apk? i would love to try it on my x2

I installed it but when i start it up all i get is "unsupported device. this device is currently not supported. check zumocast.com for updates." is there a certain version i should be installing? this is on my x2

You can get the newest version 1.1.1 from here: http://goo.gl/Fp2eB
This is the current version and the device check has been disabled. We even have a 1.1.1 version with working rotation.

yeah, i don't think it matters. the only diff between the .zip files was i had optimized the .png's in one of them which made it a little bit smaller. i believe they each have the same num of pics and the same audio.
honestly, i didn't think anyone really liked it aside from me and then it faded off the first handful of pages, so i kinda let it go.
i'll make the time to fix it.

Hi,
Installed and being awesome only cope is that it appears to take longer to get into the bootanimation than default
A reason not many opened MAY be the lack of instructions. even though it says CWM, you should just add a small sentence and say it is flashed via CWM Recovery!
omg, omg, omg downloading now!

Awesome...everything works from start to finish. Looks and sounds great!!! super cool..totally feeds my fetish for video games and android!!

I got Netflix Working! ON NOOKCOLOR

I got Netflix to work but i cant show anyone how to do it because i they wont EFFING LET ME!!!!
p.m. if you want to know how to do it
what i did if you have a DINC do a TI back-up of the netflix file EVERYTHING APK+DATA then do a restore using your NC after you transfer the files into the TI - backup folder on the NC
i have the files on media fire but cant post them
and the forum upload-er says invalid file every time i try to upload my dinc Netflix files
Most of us got Netflix to work. Not sure what the excitement is about. Am I missing something here?
Netflix has been working on the nook color since the same day it was available on all of the officially supported devices.
You will find several threads about it in this very forum. No need for swapping TB backup files.
Sry Evey time I did what others have done I never worked its not in my market and when I downloaded the Netflix.API from here and installed it, it would say there is an update but neverwork... so was there another way besides this way for the next user?

[Q] 2.3.4 root app?

Hey umm just wanted to ask. Does any one know if anybody is working on a 2.3.4 root app?
I wouldn't recommend any app to root your phone. The root tutorial has all the info, and more, that you'll need right now.

I haven't seen anything about anyone developing and app((I assume u mean similar to gingerbreak)) for the root process.
There is a great new tutorial for rooting made by moon shadow if u need any info
I was hoping someone would be able to create a one click app also but haven't seen anyone doin it yet
Ya that's exactly the app I was thinking about. My computer is to slow so I was wondering if anyone was working on a app
Sent from my DROID X2 using xda premium
It doesn't take s fast Computer. I have used a 10yr old computer running an early XP system and it only took like 15mins to root it
Ya I think I'm gonna try it out again. But it would be cool to have a one click app though
Sent from my DROID X2 using xda premium
Was there a specific spot in process that seemed to hang for u or not work?
Might be able to work around it somehow.
And I agree. Something like gingerbreak would be awesome.
Tho u should be able to go to froyo and use gingerbreak.
then use root explorer and do the maintain rootexplorer across updates method.
There is a thread I did on how to do it in Dev forum. It came from p3droid over at rootzwiki.
I think my computer is fast enough, and it is nearly 4 years old (I built it in South Korea for $1,500, valued over $6,000 in the US).

All joking aside, Pete's root tools should not require much at all.
I was wondering if u would ever post a pic of it lol I remember u talking about it before. Nice setup man. U r pretty proud of it ain't ya lol. Looks sweet.
I am pretty proud of it until I walk into PC direct every now and then lol. I feel like I am due for an overhaul...
Also, you would think I would learn how to dev for Android being that I have a nice setup... but no, lol. I am contemplating starting when I get out of school for winter break though. I need a new hobby since I shutdown/sold all my websites, and cut ties with Wayne over at WJD Designs last year(Long story, we go way back to HS).
Petes one click root is just a standalone executable file so it shouldn't take too much computing power to handle it.
You just plug your phone in, open petes one click and click run. Hell you could even do it on a computer lab or library computer if it allowed flash drive access.

Within 2 hours of me having my dx2 I had already sbf'd to 2.3.4 and used petes one click root. It is very simple, I believe there are directions somewhere around here, I do agree though a one click root app would be nice, or is someone working on a pre rooted version of 2.3.4? I just came from the DX world and they have a rooted version of one of their last updates, not 100% sure if it's possible with the DX2 but hey something to consider. I am really contemplating starting to develop stuff for the dx2 but am currently busy with wedding stuff, buying a house, school, and finishing a motor swap in a friends camaro lol I like to stay busy apparently.

I'm sure your setup is awesome, I have no doubt about that however, at least going on the information in the post and the image, most of that $6,000 was spent on monitors and not the PC.
In addition, the monitor's have very little to do with the speed of your PC, so it's not really relevant to the topic of using Pete's One Click rooting app. Kudos to the setup though, not that I want to take away from it; I simply want to be sure to clear the air with that so that a newbie looking for advice does not see the image and think they need a datacenter style operation just to perform a simple task on their phone.
Pete's One Click rooting tool is very simple. Follow the instructions in the below guide and you'll be rooted in no time.

What a drag. I am really hoping to see an FXZ soon. Honestly it is the lack of FXZ that has me seriously considering the GN.
Personally I require a back out plan...if none exists honestly I don't want the phone. Mostly because the other thing I require is root. I know I can root the Razr as I already have....but I am seriously timid due to lack of FXZ.
This is why over Christmas I bought a Nexus, pretty much screw it up as bad as you want and theres always a way back. That and its been out for 1/2 the time and has 1000% more development on it already. I gave my wife my RAZR, her first smart phone.

Please post the apk, install instructions and what ROM you are running it on.
I does work on the note, you just have to add it to the system/apps folder and paste over the other one that is on the phone. Once you have it in there just tap on it to install it and you are set to go.
The only issue I am having with the app is that the DPI settings seem to be off and the bottom buttons are all on the left side of the screen. Been messing around with the dpi settings but not having a whole lot of luck.

Which it is... you just have to be running ICS and install it correctly. Don't get upset about it, just flash an ICS rom.

My question is do you have to be rooted to run this... I've read in a couple other threads that you have to be cause you have to change the app permissions.. I'm.running stock ics 4.0.3 and its very stable by the way with everything working including chrome beta (which was a big deal for me), was also able do dl NFC apps and Wallet... Another question does all the ICS apps work with the rooted roms? That's like the biggest thing that's keeping me from trying them..

So I downloaded the apk, moved it to system/apps, fixed permissions and installed it, everything went fine. In the beginning it was working pretty good, but now all of a sudden it crashes right after I ask a question. Anything I could do to fix this? Oh yeah it always crashed when I tried to set an alarm which was weird but it always went through apparently cuz I checked the clock app. Was just wondering if this was common for everyone.
