Keep Failed to flash with ODIN - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I have tried flash many different firmwares, but still keep facing the same problem.
Tried on my computers.
now my phone stuck at yellow triangle icon.
My screenshot at here : http://imageshack.us/f/853/unledzqb.jpg/
Hope someone could help me, thanks..

try to flash via cwm or perform a full wipe when you have backuped your data... full wipe will erase all datas...
remove battery insert battery. press up and power is this working anymore?

What was your set up before?

As klarmacker have said, try doing a full wipe. If all else fails, get the jig buddy.

Need Help badly

While flashing param.tar from TriangleAway thread by Chainfire, Odin showed that its a failed operation. Then when I tried to restart my phone (pull battery) screen only shows "nps_fail.jpg" error message. Is there anyway to fixed this? I can only enter download mode and not in recovery. Will this be fixed by flashing a stock firmware?
*Resolved thanks to guide by Phistachio cheers!

That's what I recommend.
Flash a stock ROM with Odin.
Maybe you will have to do a wipe in recovery ... if your phone will be able to boot into recovery after flashing the ROM.
Good luck !

Had a similar problem just minutes ago but was related to Rom Manager not Triangle Away mod but I couldn`t go into recovery and couldn`t boot the Rom.
This is how I solved it:
Installed Stock ICS 4.0.3 Firmware through Odin but then I got stuck at the Galaxy SII Bootanimation.
Then I flashed Chainfire Kernel and got into CWM and then without a full wipe just installed my old rom and it worked. All apps are still there.

[Q] Brick

Hi
I have got a serious problem, suddenly my phone cannot boot, but are stuck at I9300. I can boot into download mode, and when I connect to my PC via USB, 2nas says Attached, Download mode. No information are shown in the information window in 2nas.
When I try to recover from softbrick or try to flash a ROM via 2nas, it say flash boot.img....fail.
What can I do?

Firstly, use the search button. This sort of problem has been discussed at length on here about a billion times.
It isn't serious, yet.
Have you done the obvious....wiping cache, wiping dalvik and try factory reset?
If that didn't work, have you tried using Odin to flash firmware instead of 2nas?
There could be a number of factors as to why it isn't working and I fail to beleive you have explored every avenue.
Tried a different USB cable and port?
Tried re-downloading the same firmware again and flashing?
Tried installing a different firmware package?
Where did you get your firmware? I always use firmware from Sammobile.
If you have tried every possibility and you are still stuck at boot screen, THEN you can post here with a problem. Until then it is merely a set back.
I hope you manage to sort it out mate,
Good luck

Ok, If flashing a firmware through Odin fails then you can try flash a custom recovery through Odin.
As you're having issues with boot.img, I would also use Odin to flash a kernel. try the latest Siyah Kernel.

[Q] Galaxy S2 stuck on boot

[Kernel] v1.x[XWLS8-LSD-LSE-LSJ-LSN & XXLSJ|MS1] JellyBean i9100 [Light & Simple]
Rooted
Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean (Stock from: http://www.androidpit.com/android-4-1-2-jelly-bean-for-galaxy-s2-download-it-here)
I have had on and off hardware issues with my phone even when all was stock, things like apps failing, phone freezing and getting hot when something got stock.
Now after a reboot my phone just keeps booting and never enters the Android OS. To add, I don't know why I got to the scene where "Android is optimizing your apps" this always happened after I changed kernel. But now it is stuck there, the circle is rotating and after some minutes the phone gets hot. I waited over 20 minutes, but it's stuck there.
I can enter CWM mode, and I did a cache and Dalvin cache clean, although it didn't help.
I also have the yellow triangle upon starting the phone...
What is the best solution to try to fix the issue? I rather not wipe the phone, before I try other things. Maybe set a new kernel there or ROM?
Restore nandroid backup in CWRecovery. Or a factory reset if you have no backup, and if the reset doesn't work, flash a stock rom with Odin & start again (re-root your phone, etc).

Just flash a latest .tar (Odin Flashable) kernel file like 'Philz' or 'Siyah v6b5' from Pc odin and then do a wipe data/factory in recovery afterwards and see

If I do a factory reset, I would need to install all apps all over again (300+ )
I will first try to flash the rom.

So you prefer I flash the kernel instead of the rom?

yes, if u flash 'Philz' kernel then u can make a Nandroid bkp of the Data partition in its recovery before making a factory wipe and then u can restore the same later, so that all ur 300+ apps will be intact
How do I access the storage of my phone? So that I can copy over a kernel file.
Wow there, this is not windows.

I'm still stuck after I reflashed my kernel and then also the rom. They passed, but my phone behaves as usual. :crying:
Now I lost CWM too.
Flash this:

Oh noo. :crying: I lost all my 300+ apps, and all my setting etc.
What have I done? I flashed 3 files:
PDA
CSC
MODEM
What do each one of them do? I Know PDA is for flashing rom and kernel...
I kind of like the firmware or rom, don't know what it is called. Although if I want to find a newer version what do I do?
PDA: LSJ
PHONE: LS6
CSC: LS1
300+ apps? do you really use them all?

unknown softbrick problem

hello, my phone is in a bootloop at the samsung start screen, the problem didn't started because of an un proper flash of a rom, I just found my phone in kernel panic mode, tried to enter recovery to do a full wipe, nothing, recovery was unavailable, I had cm 10.1 and dorimax kernel, after that I found a thread that explained what to do in case of soft/hard brick, I did all the steeps, (I can only enter download mode), I have flashed the ics, gb roms in odin with success, no nand rw problem, my phone is still in a boot loop, this happened two weeks ago, today I tried booting the phone, a wierd instaler started (something about cryptic, can't remember exactly) but the instalation stopped it restarted, and the samsung boot loop started, dose any one have any ideeas what else can I try? thx
can any one tell me if the stock roms I'm flashing trough odin do a full wipe? thx
Always do a full wipe, no matter what you do.
Flash a more newer stock firmware, aka a jelly bean firmware..
Have you encrypted your phone before you swap Roms? and not decrypt it before flash?
I have flashed XWLSW trough odin, but still nothing, I didn't encrypt my phone, and I can't do a full wipe, or at least I don't know how to do it trough odin (I can only enter download mode). Thx for the answers, any other suggestions?

I have same problem and i don't know what to do. Someone tell mse about a pit parched because is a memory problem, so, i'm looking for this pit, but, i can't found this pit.
Someone help us, please. Thank you.
Can you not enter recovery? Even after flash and stuck in boot loop? Flash stock and try to get into recovery when this boot loop happends. And yes when you flash through odin the phone is wiped:thumbup:
I solved a similar problem by:
flashing a custom recovery through odin
booting into recovery mode
doing a "wipe data/factory reset"
doing a "wipe cache"
doing a "format /system"
doing a "format /preload"
flashing a current custom ROM

I thought that odin install gives you a fresh start. What do you mean by single md5? Thanks for the info.
The one that you flash in pda.
It's called a non wipe flash, similar to an OTA update.

Dm verity verification failed is problem with Imei.
Have you tried to flash the firmware that I posted?
1st - go into download mode on device. Hold home power and up.
Plug device in to odin.. on odin it should have blue box saying COM:1 or something like that.
Extract the firmware and put the .tar file in AP.
Make sure auto reboot and re partition are UNCHECKED.
Then start.
Try this and post a screenshot on here of odin one it's finished.
I had exactly the same issue and flashing this firmware fixed it.

First though... in odin flash twrp recovery.
Boot into recovery and wipe cache partition and wipe data. Then restart phone. This should work. If not try the first step (flash a different stock)
