For some reason my weather widget when i'm at home always says 14 or current location, not the city name anymore. it has the correct name when i travel if i toggle gps and update the weather but never at home. is the anyway way to reset it clear the saved locations? I already tried the HTC weather widget in setting but all cache clearing options and the likes were grayed out. thanks for any help.
Quite common problem for users .... HTC and Verizon deny the problem exists though. I don't know of a definitive fix.
I figured out what it is, for me atleast. I use advanced task killer as im sure many eris users do (i know they say you dont need it but my eris can get sluggish with lots of apps running). I tried just not closing weather and it still gave me the issue, then on a whim I tried not closing the clock app as well. Voila! problem solved. It updates when I change position and the only apps I have running when idling are clock, weather, and atk.
That should solve it, just don't close out clock and weather and it should work.

For right now I wouldn't go force killing ANYTHING that was preinstalled on the phone when you got it. HTC Sense works in odd ways. As for me I only force kill apps that I put on the phone myself and I don't seem to have as many problems now (lockscreen lockups, jittery touch screen, touch screen not working).
**EDIT** Figured out what it was! It was from the app "power control plus" which adds toggles to your notification pull down..
Sorry this might seem like a dumb question but, what is this symbol to the left on the top of my notification bar? The circle power looking symbol that the red arrow is obviously pointing to..
That I don't know; would assume it's an app that you've downloaded otherwise it would be on the right side, but can you please tell me how you got your lock screen to look so pretty-ful?
What does it say if you open notifications? For some reason, it makes me think think of a timer or stopwatch.
Sent from my MB860 using XDA App
That is almost identical to the universal power button icon, except with the power icon the line points at 12 o'clock.
I searched on a number of sites with legends of Android notification icons, and could not find this one. When did the icon appear, and what had you installed prior to that?
Looks like you have a timer enabled in the alarms menu.
Sent from my MB860 using XDA App
I have checked stock alarm, Gentle Alarm, and Alarm Clock Extreme.
None have this icon. Maybe the OP downloaded another 3rd party alarm app?
You've turned on the timer for a camera..
Ehhhh wrong... notification toggle... I think. I had to use this on my atrix.
Edit: looks like I was wrong too.. I can't remember what its called but I used to use this app. It had a full set of toggles in the notification bar.

Found it.
It's Power Control Plus.
Power Control Plus Widget
Jogged my memory when you mentioned toggles ChongoDroid, so I looked through all my TiBu apps, restored a couple, and found it was this one.

OP, next time could you please update with a new post, or edit the subject with [SOLVED]. When you edit the OP it doesn't update and view that there is a new post/edit, so we typically don't look at the OP again. I just noticed I found what your problem was 2 hours after you posted you had fixed it. Could have saved me quite a bit of time if I knew you had resolved your problem. Cheers.
Some weird over lapping on the main screen. Where it says just type its also saying make it so. There overlapping each other. On the botton where the messenger icon is there is a pandora icon behind it. Where the picture icon is there is tunein radio icon behind it. Do u know how to fix this?
I might had figured it out im restarting now. I was looking at what I installed and thought it was a add icons to home screen but after I uninstalled it they are still there
heres something funny it could be just the background picture im using
Just ran across Floatify in the Playstore: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jamworks.floatify
Seems to work on the lockscreen the way Android Marshmallow notifications should work! I disabled the heads up setting in the app, but in my 5 minutes of playing with it, the lockscreen works GREAT! You can keep your ZTE lockscreen, the notifications just display on top of it and you can swipe them away. You do disable the stock notifications, but this has worked fine in my email and text test as well as a few Dropbox notifications.
It lets you expand the notifications too.
Only down side I've seen so far, you need the "pro" version ($1.49) to get the notifications to stack on top of each other.....Otherwise, with the free version it still works....But the newest one is on top, when you swipe it away there is one under it....so if you get 6 notifications, to see the first one you'll need to swipe away all the others on top. I've already purchased the "pro" version, otherwise I'd test that setting out to make sure I'm correct in telling you this?
But all's I know, I'm really happy with this $1.49 app!
Nice find! How well does it handle music playback notifications?
does it work with the fingerprint scanner?

it does not replace the lockscreen, it just creates notifications on the original one. Thx for the hint, very nice app

Well, when I first tried it, it didn't show anything... Then when I was about to post this, I checked again and it shows up just like a standard notification (along with the others).
I'm using Shuttle+ and the top one is the music notification. No controls, just "what's playing".
Lol.....It even reminds me that my wife took the Kohl's card last month and used it (busted).
Best solution I've seen so far.

It's a flashable .zip font called "ChinaCat". You have to be rooted to use it, since it flashed via TWRP.
Yes, amazing. I hated that bell, now it's six feet under.
I just wanted to provide a different option for anybody who wants the finger print scanner + album art to work.
Hi Locker.
Main benefits: full album art with the audio controls and works with finger print scanner.
The main downfall is if you want to do the finger print scanner, you have to have ZTE's stock lock screen enabled which means you'll have two lock screens.
It works two different ways.
1. If you press the power button, it'll bring up the ZTE lock screen with the bell. If you have your lock screen set at swipe, it'll then go to the Hi Locker lock screen which will display notifications. If you press the button, you can unlock by using the finger print scanner twice. So, ultimately, using the power button and swiping immediately will bring you to the next screen and that will have all your notifications including album art taking over the wall paper and audio controls.
2. If you use the finger print scanner, it'll bypass the ZTE lock screen and go straight to the Hi Locker screen. Now you'll be able to function with all the other above. You can then use the finger print scanner a second time and you'll completely unlock the phone.
It's a weird way but this was the best way to get the finger print scanner and album art going at the same time... until ZTE releases something.

swipe the music notification down and you should see the controls
Great!
tele_jas, Thanks for sharing this one! I think it's much better than having a second lockscreen. I left my native notifications turned on,but just turned on the "Show on the lock screen" option (to kill the bell). Then, inside Floatify's settings, under Heads-up, then under "When", I disable "On Notification", but left "On Lockscreen" set to All Notifications. So I have Floatify only on top the lockscreen, and the default system notifications everywhere else.
Great find!
Thanks for this thread, love this app it's a massive improvement to the Axon 7.

OP, thanks. Love this app, no bell, dark notification theme and can increase notification text size.

Floatify = GREAT "notification bell" replacement (so far)!
Looks very promising.
Just bought it.
Just one question how disable the bell icon being on lock screen or it's not possible to all time hide it?
Edit: I don't know but find it very complicated through setting.
Too many settings and similar option
Missing simplicity from the app.

Sorry but I can't find that option you are talking about.
Can you please write step by step.
Thanks.

When you have two Gmail notifications, is there any way to react to each of them from the lockscreen? I have the pro version and thanks.

Just uninstalled and got refund.
Sorry I find the app too messy and complicated with dozens of similar option and settings.
Prefer next lock screen as lock screen replacement and I'm using glimpse notification to wake up screen on notification alert and double tap to sleep from lock screen.
Or just wait if being stock until ZTE make the bell optional witch not being late until released via software update.

How disable not interact badly on lock screen when pull down notification while playing music??
Also interact badly with player pro widget on notification center when pull down while playing music.
I don't know how disable music player widget on floatify.
Even disable player pro widget on player pro it continues to show both player pro and floating app music player widget together on Notification Center.

Sorry to those not happy with it and are asking me questions on how to use it?..... I liked it and found it useful and posted the link. I don't really know much of, or any of the technical stuff about it, I just set it up and left it alone and haven't touched it since day one. No, it's not perfect and not as useful as real stock android notifications, but I still like it MUCH better than the "bell".
I do know when you "start the app", you'll get the option to disable the stock android notifications (the three choice menu). You want to choose to not show any notifications and this will disable the "bell". There is someone on here uses it a slightly different way and left instructions on how they used it.
Hey folks,
So I was wondering why there are no media controls on my Honor 10's lock screen when music is playing (usually via Spotify).
It's not really cool to unlock the phone, swipe down, open spotify and press next when all you want to do is skip a song.
Do these controls show up on your lockscreen?
Did I maybe disable them without noticing?
Thanks for your answers in advance!

I do have them there, try disabling having to show your face to show notifications on lockscreen in face unlock settings, was a culprit for me before.

Hey thanks for your suggestion, I've now disabled face unlock, gave Spotify every possible permission (like ignore "do not disturb" mode, draw on lockscreen etc). But still nothing shows up on my lockscreen when music is playing from Spotify.
I even logged off from Spotify and on again like some people suggested in another forum. Didn't change anything.
However I noticed the stock music app makes fullscreen controls appear on the lockscreen (but I won't use that app).
Any further suggestions?

Actually yeah, one more suggestion. If you changed your lockscreen theme to anything other than the default one, change it back to default. For some reason notifications and everything that's supposed to be on the lockscreen is banned in custom themes. No clue what's wrong if it isn't this.

Thanks for this suggestion, too.
I already thought this might be a problem and changed it beforehand.
So now after I made all these changes:
Lockscreen design to default
Disabling Face Unlock
Enabling the rights for Spotify to send Lockscreen messages
Enabling all possible rights for Spotify basically
A notification for currently playing Spotify tracks shows up quite randomly.
I assume it needs some time to show up. It doesn't show immediately after I play music and lock the phone.
If turn on the screen like 3 minutes later, it's there sometimes.
Now it would be awesome if it showed up in fullscreen mode on the lockscreen (like the huawei music player does) and show up immediately.
Thanks for your help so far, feel free to post further suggestions if you come up with something.
