[Q] How do I turn off call screening? - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Not sure what I did to activate call screening but when answering a call it now asks to press 1 to answer and 2 to send to voicemail.
I was experimenting with Google Voice, the Voicemail app that came with the phone and youmail voicemail app.
I have removed youmail, disconnected from google voice..but no dice.
Thanks.

Google Voice problem ...

I had Google Voice voicemail working on my phone for months, now, suddenly, even though I have Voice set for voicemail, I only get it through Sprint -- but I don't get any notification.
I'm using SteelH's ROM that I modified. Is Voice dependent on any other apps? I took out the visual voicemail app, but I didn't think Voice needed that.
If I call my Sprint number, I get Sprint's voicemail prompts. If I call my Google number I get Google Voice prompts. I used to be able to call my Sprint number and get Google Voice voicemail.
I've cleared data and uninstalled and re-installed. Next is a data wipe and full install of the ROM again if no one has any ideas.

the description you give of the voicemail prompts after calling the numbers seem to indiciate the issue is beyond your evo 3d and more to do with you gv setup.
try calling your sprint number from a different phone. if you get sprint's voicemail prompts, then you need to setup your gv account again. the easiest way to set it up again is to disable sprint integration online in your gv account, wait a lil bit and enable it again.
the disable and enable codes gv gives you with the sprint integration essentially setup the conditional call forwarding for the voicemail.
hope that helps!
+1 on the conditional call forward, I think it is *28 then the google voice number (or your sprint number if integrated). Presto your calls when unanswered will be routed to google voice again.

this is correct and dont forget to change your voicemail carrier in settings
I was having the same issue. I was too lazy to look it up so I uninstalled and reinstalled the google voice app. everything is working as expected again.

busy tone when i call voicemail

so i searched around and i couldn't find and answer for this. So heres the scenario, I decided to try google voice and i didn't like it so i went to google and turned it off. Since then my voicemail when i call it i get a busy tone and when people call it says something about i don't have voicemail. I checked my settings and i do have voicemail set to carrier. any suggestions or help would be great
Dial *38 then your gv number to fully disable gv, then your sprint vvm should work

it told me the featured code is not valid

Google Voicemail:

I have a question, with the Google Voicemail service, how do you get rid of having to hit 1 on the keypad to answer calls?
log into http://voice.google.com, go to voice settings, click calls, turn call screening from on to off. save, logout....the end
Thanks, that worked.

[Q] Google Voice Voicemail Issue

Is anyone else having trouble setting up Google voice as their voicemail for Sprint? For some reason we dont have the call forwarding option under call settings as everyone else does. I've tried activating through the web and the app but to no avail. The phone just keeps ringing and doesnt go to VM unless the person calls my google voice number directly. I've tried Youmail as well and conditional call forwarding for voicemail does not work.

Google Voice

Anyone successful at activating Google Voice to manage your voicemails on the S8+? I'm coming from a Nexus device where it worked flawelessly. I guess Sprint has disabled the ability to use GV because they want you to use their voicemail app.
I have tried the steps on this page but voicemails still go to the stock app.

Might be able to get it working once we have root and can freeze the voicemail app. I wasn't able to answer phone calls with call forwarding to gv tho, so that will might be an issue.

I used this, and Google Voice is working for me. *73 is the key. *28 no longer works for it like GV mistakenly still states in the setup.
I came from Verizon Note 5 and switched to the Sprint S8+, and could not figure it out until I found the above.
Do you have the google voice app installed? I've tried this every which way I can find and it still reverts to Sprint voicemail.
I don't remember where i copied this from awhile ago but, it has always worked for me as long as google voice is installed and set up.
To activate Missed Call Forwarding:
Enter *73
Enter the 10-digit phone number to forward the calls to (google voice number here)
example =
*73XXXXXXXXXX
Press Talk
Listen for the alert tones that tell you Call Forwarding is activated
To deactivate No Answer Call Forwarding:
Enter *730
Press Talk
Listen for the alert tones that tell you Call Forwarding is deactivated
Busy - forwards calls to an alternate number when your line is busy
To activate Busy Call Forwarding:
Enter *74
Enter the 10-digit phone number to forward the calls to (google voice number here)
example =
*74XXXXXXXXXX
Press Talk
Listen for the alert tones that tell you Call Forwarding is activated
To deactivate Busy Call Forwarding:
Enter *740
Press Talk
Listen for the alert tones that tell you Call Forwarding is deactivated

That's strange, I'm on Sprint and the *28xxxxxxxxxx, worked for me perfectly. I may try busy *74 number, but as for me all my voicemails are being forwarded to Google Voice and the Google Voice app is notifying me accordingly.
did you enable the notifications in the google voice app?

If you are asking me, notifications are enabled in the Voice app and I even have Lightflow set up with a custom led notification.

Do you have any issues using Lightflow, I had terrible experience with s6 edge +. Bought the pro but haven't tried it yet since the 6.

Had to call Sprint and have them remove WiFi calling from my account in order to get GV integration working (where when I make an outgoing call from my phone, my GV voice number is shown instead of my cell number). Now, trying to make a WiFi call, I get this message:
https://goo.gl/photos/ZUHzjq6uWbSrQy4k6
I'm afraid to move forward from this screen because GV integration is important for me... but so is WiFi calling. I was able to do both on my Note 4, which is what I was using before getting the S8+. Wonder why it can't do both now?
I can't see the pic. What does the message say?
I am only using GV for voicemail. I'm not planning on going fully integrated so I have no input on that.
I had to disable Wi-Fi calling to finally get GV voicemail to work.
I believe Sprint do not support both service, GV and Wifi-Calling, you either use one or the other, the only phone so far that i know for sprint able to use both was the Galaxy Note 4 because the Dual antenna for voLTE. "Please dont quote me on this"
Google voice works on s8+
it worked for me only after I called sprint. they did something on their end. that's all I know. sorry not more informative

Google voice is working for me, but I cannot even find wi-fi calling in my settings anywhere. And with the signal I've been getting the last few days it would be really useful.
