Re: bootloader
Has the 4g bootloader issue been fixed yet when using a custom ROM? I love my Photon, but I really miss the custom roms like I had on my old Evo!!

Lol yea if you can figure out the 4g work around method by Loki. Wifi works just fine without any work-around

Doesn't having a locked bootloader only mean we can't permanently flash a recovery?
I mean on the moto defy the bootloader is encrypted as well but you can still restore nandroids as roms. They even have an htc sense port fully working on it. So I don't see what's stopping devs from doing something similar.
Just asking to get some information. Thank you.

Homebase 2.1 with 4.2 update has been flawless for me. No issues like others have had with the stock releases.
Tried a couple of themes over it but they eventually cause minor issues. So left it bare and themed with different launchers.

Can't say it is the best but for me I am still using a locked Rocko rom. For me it has been very solid for my use.

Been running Imperium for a while now and very satisfied with it. Good speed and everything works. No 4G in my area so that is a non-issue for me.

Are you unlocked and rooted?
Sent from my HTC6435LVW using xda premium
yea i am but it didnt work on stock either after the first load right after i got it , ever since that one time did not work :/
It's working great for me, right now.
Still locked and non-rooted
I get the error in the attacked image everytime I try to stream.
Sent from my HTC6435LVW using xda premium
I can't remember if it ever worked for me. I almost want to unroot and re lock just to get it to work if it will.
Sent from my HTC6435LVW using xda premium
it worked for me when I first got the phone, but after I rooted it stopped working... either because of root itself or because I have adfree android (even though I didn't apply it yet)
Works fine on stock for me
I get the same error when it is about to start streaming.... How do we fix this?!?!
It worked great totally stock, however once rooted it stopped working.
I'm still running the stock Rom, just rooted.

I get a somewhat similar error. It sucks because hulu plus is awesome

Anyone have any luck with it working?
Nope, its due to the unlocked bootloader, not so much root.

Is it the CID thing you do when you unlock the bootloader?

I guess it was the ROM not letting hulu work

Hello everyone,
First off I'd like to say that I'm a big fan of the site and have been referencing it ever since i got my HTC EVO years ago. You guys rock!
The reason I'm here is because I have a Motorola Photon currently running CM9 with Jelly Bean. I like it, however I don't like having to tether with 3g speeds when I know something faster is out there.
So my main question is: Have there been any ROMs (Jellybean or otherwise) that allow for 4g usage? If so, could you direct to where I could find them?
Thanks in advance to anyone who can help out.

That thread seems a bit dated now. I am on 198_7. Can I pick any custom rom and lock the bootloader to gain 4g?
Sent from my MB855 using xda app-developers app
No. Custom ROMs (ics, jb, etc.) use custom kernels, which are not supported on a locked bootloader. Sorry.

Does anyone have a recovery that is tested and working on the Motorola electrify? Also a JB ROM would be nice. Appreciate it

You can also find jb roms from there
Thanks I will try it later. By the way, know a stable JB ROM for the electrify. I was going to try CM or ParanoidAndroid but they don't say that they are compatible with the electrify.

Only some electiry phones shipped with the 2.3.5 update can still have thier bootloader unlocked. I know of none who took the update to ever unlock their bootloader. Sorry to disappoint
