WiFi N on P500? - Optimus One, P500, V General

Hello, someone has ported the WiFi N drivers on Samsung Galaxy 5 and on Sony Xperia X8.
Could we do this on our device?

i hope it is possible
maby it is much faster

Isn't the N feature hardware dependent?
IF the WIFI chip in our P500 doesn't support N, then we will never have WIFI-N compatibility.

i tot N type wifi is base on hardware ??
such as the wifi adapter for computer @@

Absolutely correct.... But theres a possibility our chip supports N, but dunno what chip O1 uses for Wifi, i someone could seach for the specs and confirms that our chips has N support then that mod would be doable in our phone too..
AFAICT X8 as well x10 DOES have N support in their chip...

, if got really is a good news

someone need to disassemble the phone and check out what chip is in there.

try finding the chip like here; i can't because i have francoskernel who doesn't support dmesg. use pauloskernel for that

According to the EN_LG-P500_SVC_ENG_101008 manual, the P500 uses a MSM7227 processor + a LBEH19UNBC-338 BT/WIFI module.
All we need to find out if the LBEH19UNBC-338 module supports N.

[INFO] X10 mini Digitizer T1021A and other dualtouch enabled phones that use it

[Open topic discussion]
Greetings !
Hows it going everyone
well I'm new to this fantastic forum that I find extremely helpful specially with the asset of the pro Developers that the forum Managed to gather at the same place
well it happens that I was surfing around trying to find any leads to figure out if the X10 Mini digitizer T1021A is Dual-touch capable or not.
Actually I found a couple of phones that uses the same Controller "T1021A" , and the most interesting one is the Blackberry Torch 9800.
Although the phone runes a BlackBerry OS6 " not an Android" but its fully Dualtouch enabled .
here are some info about the cell
http://www.digitaltrends.com/mobile/blackberry-torch-9800-everything-you-need-to-know/
here you can check out a video review of the phone
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xHnW7Dt1bcIand
and here you can take a look at the Blackberry Torch 9800 teardown
http://www.ubmtechinsights.com/repo...tive-analysis/blackberry-torch-9800/teardown/
they stated at the bottom of the page that the phone has a Clearpad T1021A controller which raises some hopes again that the X10 Mini might be able to have Dualtouch functionality up if we could manage to alter the digitizer driver , I dont claim that I possess any knowledge about firmwares and drivers development , but I believe that if its possible to extract the driver from device which I believe that its coded in C language we could be able to modify it to work for us or if we can manage to extract the driver from another device using the same chip and has Dualtouch enabled , as I've heard that Synaptics agreed to share the Synaptics RMI4 drivers with the Android SDK but I could not find any , seems like they've removed it temporary for some reasons.
I've found another phone that has the same chip T1021A , its the Nokia N8
Here you can see that the phone supports Dualtouch .... this is an Assassin's creed gameplay
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aivlOZs2Ez0
here you can clearly see that the phone has a T1021A chip "Step 10 3rd picture"
http://www.ifixit.com/Teardown/Nokia-N8-Teardown/3641/2
Another phone is Nexus One " no need to represent the phone thought "
here you can see a teardown of the device seems like the one possess a similar controller T1007A
http://www.ifixit.com/Teardown/Nexus-One-Teardown/1654/2
here you can find a full technical article about the Nexus One it indicate that the Nexus one has the same Digitizer as the X10 mini Clearpad2000 , sounds like the T1021A is just a microcontroller that controls the way the digitizer behaves and the T1021A thingy does not mean a ClearPad 1021 as some presumed
http://www.edn.com/file/25845-The_Nexus_One_Google_hits_a_smartphone_home_run_PDF.pdf?force=true
looking forward to read your replies and suggestion about the matter so maybe we could come up with something.
Are you completely sure that the Torch is able to recognize 2 touch points independently and somewhat accurately instead of just supporting dual-touch gestures like pinch-in/out and rotate?

well , I don't own the phone to confirm it , but after what I saw in reviews about the cell , it seems that its the first Multitouch not only dualtouch BlackBerry that uses the BlackBerry OS 6.
it would be nice if we only could manage to find someone who could confirm it
a datasheet woud be nescesary. mabye you could mail synaptics for more info but don't think they give much away, this things are normally not open source. it would be tons of work and mabye noth wort it.

I believe the Kin Two only supports dual touch gestures, like pinch, rotate and so on.
cant we just take the legend driver from the legend kernels and just snap it into our new custom kernels without any modifications ?! same screen res and same digitizer so i guess it wouldn't require lots of work ! thanks

nokia n8 doesn't support real dualtouch!! only gestures and pinch to zoom
It's easy to assume that the Nokia N8 has got dualtouch, but in fact it's got what some would call "software emulated dualtouch" which means dualtouch behavior on a singletouch only digitizer.

I want to know by members which other ROMs are compatible with my phone? My phone has NO Hardware button. There are 5 touch buttons as shown in picture. I tried flashing Star N8000 and i9220 ROMs too. Not working correctly..
Please help. If anyone intend to help me and want more details about this phone please reply.
Have you tried to recalibrate it.
I know there's a DHD recalibrator
but for general use only found this.

Sir,
Thanks for your reply.I resolved the issue and my phone is working fine. I am using Xtreamer ROM as Kobian Mercury PC doesnt feel good yet to share their custom ROM s even to its customers! I want to know how to create custom ROM using a working phone? I have another Mercury Mtab MagiQ with me. Or any other ROMs matching to the hardware requirements of Mtab MagiQ? Please feel free to answer me. Sorry if i troubled you amidst your hectic schedules.
Rom is not something you'll "fabricate" with some good will only.
That's what developers do, so I suggest you check these forums for xtreamer, and ask the devs to give you some reference or advice.
Can you tell me please where to find that rom you installed ?

Which android with HID, OTG support on Honor 5X?

I bought an ipega pg-9025 gamepad
It paires bluetooth OK with my Huawei Honor 5X (KIW-L21), Android 6.0.1
But the controls do not work...
No bluetooth HID support by Huawei/Honor 5X (answer of HiHonor support)
So, which CianogenMod or other alternative android OS supports bluetooth HID, supports USB OTG, and Wifi 5 GHz perhaps?
Does it have all functions of Honor 5X supported as well... fingerprint scanner, ea?
know where to ask questions..
plz know the xda rules before posting threads..
there is a separate Q AND A section for asking your doubts... so first read and then post dont simply spam

Cyanogen Mod 13 support USB OTG.
For Bluetooth HID, I never tried, I don't know.
Wifi 5 GHz will never be supported, hardware limitation.
The best is to try, just make a nandoid backup of your actual ROM (you need to unlock bootloader first), so in (the very unlikely) case you don't like CM13, you can revert easily to your current ROM.
bluetooth HID is the question...
Before I do all this effort/take the risk
Maybe buying a second hand Samsung which has OTG and HID?

How to make the LGs Dual Screen Case work with other phones? There's always a way for everything with Android. I found a development page for the dual screen on LGs site but I don't know how to go about any of that yet. Could you use G8X dual case on V50 Thinq (one that is already set up for dual screen)?

Naah. It surely won't work. Even if anything lights up the second screen somehow, a custom rom like that of LG's would be needed to use the same
The most you could do is mirror your screen and cant use it as seperate screen.

tried v30 and v40
I've tried putting G8X DualScreen case onto v40, V50 korea, v50 us, v30, v50s
Only v50 korea shows usb connection, power supply mode
But the screen, charging, buttons don't work at all
Also you need matching firmware
G8X DualScreen case (v515) works with 901lg & v50s
Velvet DualScreen cases (g905 and g915) for example doesn't work with each other
hhy does anybody know hhow the dualscreen works? try to get it running on my crdroid rom but onnly butttons andd usb conneeection works for now
Can we create an app that would replace the need for the LG ROM or Firmware?
I recognize this is an old thread, but some of the questions here are still valid. I've been using a G8X with Dual Screen for the past year and a half and have no current plans to change up. This phone rocks and is still going strong.
If I understand correctly, the GX8 Dual Screen case is compatible with the V50S (not V50), right?
I'd like to get a V50S for the 5G capability, but keep using my Dual Screen case.

It is, the V50s is pretty much identical to the G8X, but it has more RAM and storage. The 5G is not very well supported, for starters it's the 2.5G variant, 41 NSA that works in some networks in Canada, US (T-Mobile), Saudi Arabia, South Korea, China and Thailand. It also has a smaller selection of languages and you cannot root it without breaking the fingerprint reader (the fixing hack does not work on the V50s as it never had the Android 9 version that has the bug needed to fix it). It does work well with the Dual Screen case thou, and as a Korean model you get the FM radio and the built-in call recording feature that's missing from the US G8X.
Wow, that's great info @zdanee , thank you! The more I look into it the less likely it becomes. While the larger storage and RAM are appealing, I'm on Verizon and wouldn't be able to use the 5G. Plus it has LTE Cat 19 vs the G8X Cat 20 so it has slower data speeds in general.
Thank you again for your insight!
So I'm familiar with windows systems, I'm not familiar with Android, but I know in Windows it's part of the operating system or graphics drivers that says " I have a main monitor, now I see a second monitor. Let's use it. Hey there's another mouse, let's use that."
I'm curious if software could be written to support this or if it's something that would have to be written into the kernel?
I tried to do it and ended up with my DS bricked.
See if this helps you in any way.

Question Which Snapdragon 8 Gen2 Modem Configuration Fast connect 7800 " Wi-Fi 7" or 6900 " Wi-Fi 6e"

As you might all know , Not all Snapdragon 8 Gen2 come with same Bluetooth/ Wi-Fi hardware modem
Some are fast connect 6900 " Wi-Fi 6e" some with fast connect 7800 " Wi-Fi 7" and others use other modems with only Wi-Fi 6 like Vevo & IQ phones
can we know which Modem that S23 Ultra uses , may be by looking into drivers or system dumb of its software ?
Well searching online, according to Qualcomm themselves, the gen 2 for galaxy will have both. According to other sources the S22 Ultra is the one that has Fast Connect 7800, but at the same time I cant find a source that says the S23 Ultra supports Wifi 7. I tried checking on my phone with multiple apps, and secret Samsung codes however I cant find the Bluetooth or Wifi modem.

Yup that is the point , why they put Fast connect 7800 in it and increase cost if they didn't enable WiFi 7 , they could have used only the 6900 model like they did with the S23+ & normal S23, that is why I think that all 3 models have Fast connect 6900 and the mentioning of 7800 was a typo in the article

Confirmed from S23 ultra teardown
It has Qualcomm Fastconnect 7800
But not sure if it is the international version or US version only
Galaxy S23 Ultra Chip ID
Chip ID for the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra...

I can only speak to the WiFi 6/6e part of this and I can tell you that my S23U connects to 6/6e as well as my wife's S22U. Matter of fact, my Z Fold 3 worked fine on 6/6e both.
I can confirm us version contains fastconnect 7800 under wcn7851. Basic support for wifi 7 is there, but the full capabilities likely won't be realized in android 13. Current patches for android 14 show progress for wifi-7 and relevant drivers.
Samsung does have a history of disabling features if they're unstable or caused by hardware defects.
On Qualcomm's devices finder page, it is mentioned that S23U uses 7800, S23 and S23+ use 6900
According to Xiaomi's official information, it is mentioned that after WIFI7 is not open, OTA updates will be open, and I think the same will be the case for Samsung.

Qualcomm website isn't accurate , last year they said the same about the S22 series , but it was discovered that the Wi-Fi ship in S22 ultra was Broadcom not Qualcomm and the only device that have Qualcomm was the normal S22 ,
I know that this year is different & in their website they are mentioning the US version of the S23U not the world wide Version and there is not a single source mentioning that the global version is Using Qualcomm latest tech till now, and from years of experience with Samsung products not all versions have same motherboard components , even Screens and Memory chips sometimes are different between versions
Sure it doesn't matter at this stage , it's full potential is anyway not fully unlocked but it is good to know that your device maybe be better future proofed
