Have you tried manually doing it?? Just place the update.zip on the root of the SD card, then go to recovery and apply update.zip.
If you don't know how to do that you can use one-click root/unroot which is on the bible if I am not wrong.
I just odined backvto jfd.

Bootstrap recovery question

I've already installed the bootstrap recovery and it's working fine, however, I have a question about doing a nandroid backup. When I go to the backup/restore option, I only have 2 options. I believe the options are for the sdcard and the external sdcard. I'm not sure at the moment which one I chose at the time, but the backup files are as listed:
.android_secure.img, cache.img, data.img, nandroid.md5, and system.img
It seems like I'm missing a file, such as boot.img or something else and I don't want to install a custom rom for bootstrap before I know for sure. Also, in the recovery mode, I didn't see an option to nandroid restore.
Can someone explain this?

I back up to the external sdcard it can be removed and has more free space.
Boot strap recovery is not the full CWR and doesn't back up all the system files. (I am pretty sure)

I know its not the full version of CWR but I was thinking I could do a nandroid backup like normal.
I don't really want to unlock the bootloader yet as I'm in a 4G area.

The CWM recovery in the bootstrap is an older version and does not back up the boot.img.

Thanks for your help guys. I may just unlock the bootloader and get a real version of CWM. I just hate to break my 4G.

Not aware of that particular boot anime but if you know the ROM its from, use a root file app, extract in from the ROM, its in
/system/media
then move to
/data/local fix permissions and reboot.

It just says cwm the others have cwm2 and cwm 3 so I'm assuming it only flashes with cwm1

I'm not to hip to installing boot animation, i only flashed one with cwm so far

Read and learn, read and learn, read and learn....
you must have a kernel that accepts custom boot animations...
if you have that, simply flash the zip file via CWM..
(IMPORTANT NOTE) !!!!!!!
run a suitable nandroid backup prior to flashing the zip file. that way, if the rom grenades itself, or something else you didnt plan for, you can restore your backup to try again later...
happy flashing....g

Clockworkmod and TWRP

Hi,
I am currently using TWRP. I have a clockworkmod folder on my device which is rather large. I want to delete this folder and am wondering if this is safe. I don't need the backup file as I have made a new nandroid with TWRP. Do I need to uninstall cmw? (If so, how) Can I safely delete this folder?

You can only have one recovery at the same time so the fact you have twrp means that it replaced cwm. If you now have a backup of your ROM in twrp and have no interest in ever going back to cwm, then you are good to go. Delete the folder if you wish. Its perfectly safe to get rid of the folder at this point
