So, what do i do? I have access to the Recovery mode and Download mode and that, but i can't start the phone. it shows a simple white Android text on a black background. This happened when i flashed it and installed Cyanogen. I installed 2.3 before that, and 2.3 worked like a charm. I really need help ASAP, i need the phone tomorrow, i have an important meeting!
I tried to install the 2.3 ROM again, but after it's finished the white text is still there.
It would be nice to get a reply here.
Have you tried doing a full wipe of data and cache before flashing?

When you say 'flash', do you mean what i do in ODIN or in recovery mode?

Well, guessing that you use ODIN to flash (install the rom of your device) the rom, then there (also done in CWM Recovery). But I am saying, did you format the device before doing this?

If you're talking about formatting the sd card before flashing... no.
If you're talking about formatting the device data in Recovery before flashing... no
Do you think i should try formatting it first, and then flashing? I'm going to have a go at flashing through Odin and then through Recovery, as i originally did. This time with a format first
someone please help

Yes, I meant formatting the device data while in recovery, before flashing.

Hi,
so I tried to install a new theme and during the install the phone froze. I tried to access the recovery again, but I can't, the phone stucks at galaxy s3 screen. However I can access download mode.
My question is, what do I have to do to keep my SD Card content (like pictures)? Which firmware should I flash? I was on Wanam Lite Rom.
Thanks for Help
Matt

Flashing a theme will not mess your recovery partition so it cannot happen that you have lost recovery..so try again..
Once you are able to boot into recovery flash the ROM which you were using without a wipe first...you will not loose anything..if you face problems then wipe data/factory reset in CWM ..even then you will not loose the data on your internal SD..

I know that it seems strange but I'm not able to access it. I tried to install
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1844756
on my wanamlite since someone wrote it would work (I did a nandroid backup first). However the installation froze and I had to pull the battery. Since then it won't boot or boot into recovery (the syiah kernel flash screen doesn't show up either).

*figured it out myself. Data format in teamwin recovery did the trick
Hi Guys,
After trying to fix my i9300 that was having radom freezes with Fstrim and the Dummy File Generator my phone died.
It doesn't boot past the sgs3 logo, but i am still able to boot recovery. I recovery i can see that /data cannot be mounted. Does that mean that my internal memory is now completely broken?
with regards,
Joost

I think he means he formatted is data partition with Twrp recovery (you can do this with any recovery)....Basicly a factory reset which wipes your data partition (so if you don't want to lose anything back it up).

That is indeed what I meant. The weird thing was that I was not able to do a factory reset and was not able to mount the data partition. Only going into your recovery and selecting format -> data partition worked. I can add that the phone is also not experiencing any of the freezes I experienced prior to this incident.

More information is needed for people to be able to help you
(1) What recovery are you using
(2) Are you wiping before flashing (If so explain how you may have missed a step)
(3) Are you doing a factory reset after flashing
Many things cause a bootloop details please more details will stop alot of people suggesting things you may have already tried.

Thankyou for your reply unfortunately you did not answer question (2) fully...The reason I asked for in detail is that you may need to do a full wipe not a standard wipe ie: format system, format data, format cache delvik etc. This will get rid of any residue files left over ready for a clean install (sorry if you do this already) I would suggest trying the above but be careful it leaves you without any rom in system so have one ready to flash from ext sd card.
If that fails I would flash stock with odin and if that boots try again but with a different recovery.

Hi, jd1639 said that if I needed help about my phone, it should be here that I found the answer. So my problem is :
My Galaxy S2 (GT-i9100) won't boot (but I can access recovery mode)
But, I don't know what to do next (wipe data/factory reset doesn't work) and I didn't never set a backup so I can't recover my phone.

You will need to provide a bit more info for anyone to help. Were you on stock rom? Have you tried to flash a rom? You have root access(custom recovery)? Do you have an external sd card and access to a pc?

When you say you have already flashed a rom, which rom is that? In the installation process, was it successful(was there any error messages during install) Did you do factory reset, format system, wipe cache & dalvik cache before flashing?
Do you want a stock rom via odin or are you trying to install a custom rom via recovery?
