[Q] disable overscroll glow in 2.3.5 - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

does anyone know how to remove the overscroll glow from the KI3 rom?
its very annoying!

Would quite like to know this too. I don't mind it on the phones menus but in the browser it looks horrible. Looks very rushed and unfinished

check the themes and apps section

Well, KI3 is a test release, so it probably is unfinished.

2.3.5 browser overscroll glow
It's really most annoying in stock browswer.
Anyone having a browser 2.3.4 update.zip?
Maybe downgrading stock browser would prevent it
from glowing?

Try using the UOT kitchen, disabling over scroll glow is rom specific
Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk

using UOT kitchen will not help, it just remove the blue color
but the scroll effect stay the same..
maybe someone got another idea?

man i have this problem to i dont like that blu in the browser any solutions? i am think to back to 2.3.4 for this problem

The Samung part of over scroll glow is clearly poorly implemented and coded. The over glow on pure android like the system setting list part has no problem and feels right. I found that the galary and browser glow is very buggy. I hope it can be fixed soon. Galaxy S3 is coming out in about 6 months but we are still fixing many stuffs for S2. All devs and tester/customer should get paid from Samsung IMO. LoL

[REQ] Samsung Galaxy S 2.2 LockScreen

Hey, I saw the lockscreen on the 2.2 Samsung Firmware release for the international vibrants.... I like how that looks and how they jazzed it up a lot better.... Is there anyone here that can rip that and build it into an update.zip? Thanks!

Do you have a picture or a video?
Haven't seen the lockscreen for 2.2, but from what I read, the 2.2 lockscreen is kind of buggy in the leaked 2.2 build. I'd just wait for now.
Maybe put a request for Widge Locker to make one.
Heres a picture of the 2.2 Lockscreen, the "<<<<< >>>>>" arrows are a lit animation
If that's the only difference, I can easily wait
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
Why would they add arrows? That's lame. I sweep up. Wonder if they changed the puzzle lock also?
Sent using xda app....
Are you sure that's not just the lock screen that the international has always had?
The arrows are animated, lighting up from inside to out but i really dont think its worth the trouble to port this.
I have this on european galaxy s with 2.1 rom. And there is still the "puzzle" effect if u have some notification.
wasn't sure if this was in the 2.1 or not on the international version.
Bell Galaxy S Vibrant with stock 2.1 eclair, I already have the animated lit arrows.

Overscroll edge glow effect in GB app drawer?

Don't know if anyone remembers or not but when the first few sdk ports for GB came out the overscroll glow effect was present inside the stock GB launcher. For some reason (I personally have no clue) this feature isn't present anymore?
I'm using CM7 and after extracting the stock launcher from the sdk image I get nothing, any tips on where I should be looking? I searched and I can't find this question asked anywhere, thanks.

Overscroll Glow Effect on Community Rom?

sorry if this is a noob question, but does anybody know how to get the gingerbread over scroll glow effect on community rom? also, the droid x has a very cool animation when rotating from portrait to landscape and vice versa. is there anyway we can see this on the fascinate?
Overscroll glow is tied into the Gingerbread and probably can't be ported to Froyo (CommRom). The rotation animation is a special addition of Motorola's Gingerbread Blur UI (which I also think is awesome btw).
Sent from my Fascinate with CM7 Gingerbread
overscroll has been ported to froyo recently on the x8...but i believe it was aosp/cm6
sbrissen has said he d look over the code and see how difficult it would be to be port to tw froyo....but hes a busy man...so who knows
id say its still more likely it wont happen than would...but i cant say for sure

[Q] Gingerbread Animations/Effects on VillainRom 1.1

I installed the VillainROM 1.1, but I deeply miss the awesome gingerbread look I had when I installed Darky's ROM 10.1 on my old SGS 1.
I would like the:
- Gingerbread Overscroll Glow Effect
- Gingerbread Screen OFF animation
Is there any simple way to get it?

Pretty sure you can add CRT via VR Tweaks and if not there are some modded frameworks in the Dev section but have you tried Lite'ning ROM? It has all the effects you want plus a nice blue theme. I switched from VR and after coming from CM7 with Honeybread theme it is almost as good to look at!
Regards.
Thanks! I'll check that out. I also tried to cook a theme @ UOT. Still gotta wait till it's done though.
@Light'ning ROM: Well I personally really don't like the blue theme within Lite'ning ROM. I'd love to have the one from my old SGS1 (Darky 10.1).
Would it be possible to just take the framework-res.apk and systemUI.apk and that everything will be the same as Darky 10.1?
I would not use the framework from another phone. Also files would need to be resigned for VR

I got the zip file and flashed my phone with it. Works nice. I have the overscroll efect now, and through VR Tweaks I managed to get the CRT animation. However.... it comes with a very very ugly battery icon.
Might it be possible that if I install that mod, get the latest framework and systemUI from my phone, and then cook with it, that I would have the CRT-animation in it?
Because when I install the mod, and then apply the cooked theme, the CRT animation is gone.
Btw, the CRT animation is WHITE, normally it uses a sort of screenshot. Plus that animation starts you see 1 frame of black. Any notes on both of that?
When I do what I proposed, I actually do get the CRT-animation in de cook. However... it shows many artifacts when the animation plays. I am missing something probably...? It wants to use a screenshot I think, but instead it uses an image that is white with colorful dots and artifacts.
Any ideas on how to fix this?
EDIT:
Found out I had to download Chainfire 3D and install the driver in there.
EDIT2:
No luck.. Doesn't matter how I try: first apply zip, then install driver, or other way around. Always artifacts..

[Q] Theming On Galaxy SII

Well, I've looked around a lot and I can't find much clear instructions so I figure this post won't be only beneficial to me. I've rooted my GS2 and flashed a few roms and stuff, but I can never get some of the UI elements to my liking. There's always one or two things that's missing from one ROM, that's there in another, but that one misses something from the previous. Anyway, I'd really appreciate some help in learning to theme my GSII. I just got rid of CM7 #116 and went to this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1168836&page=942
CriskeloRom V38. It's pretty nice but I'd like to change some of the icons and stuff. Firstly I'd like to change the battery icon, the wifi and edge icon, and maybe the icons in the notification bar. Also what I'd REALLY love is to figure out how to add my own animations or transitions and stuff. I've always been jealous of how smooth iPhones seem to be because of the transitions they have. And the overscroll bounce has been disabled, I'd also like to add that back. I think some of these things can be done thru JKay mod, but I'm not sure how and I don't wanna go around flashing stuff that I'm clueless about. All helps is appreciated, thanks a lot guys Oh and forgot to mention, I'd also like to know how to increase the number of apps shown in the recent apps
Read a lot, or get an iphone

Yeah, I have been. I'm not finding much info, hence the reason I'm asking a question. I'm not illiterate. I was just hoping some more experienced users could point me in the right direction since I'm still fairly new to this.

you can enable the overscroll bounce with jkay deluxe settings. you can disable it if you want. regarding animations or transitions again you need to find a rom that supports them..look around in the threads and you will find roms that have them.heck themes now add them so if you want to flash a rom and then flash ics theme you are guaranteed to have what you are after...so here is what i would do in your situation:
either get go launcher from market. It gives so you so many options regarding animations or transitions between homescreens and app screens. that is what i am currently using. then no need to flash a rom since the launcher gives you all that
second. go into jkay thread and read on how the settings work and read the changelog
third find a rom and then a theme to suit your needs
Its the Devs and Themers that have that information but they tend not to read the Q&A or General section .
General section of XDA.com may have more info .

Thanks for the reply i tried enabling it but the option is there, and also there aren't any of the overscroll bounce packages available for XXKL1 as far as I've read.. I'm using a rom with an ICS theme and a few transitions right now but I thought it'd be cool to customise them how i like. I'll need to read a bit more about JKay though. I like Widget Locker but last time I tried it, I got bad battery drain. Think I'll give it a go again and see though.

Go launcher is a good shout but if you're really a big theme fan, flash a miui rom. I recommend galnet personally. Enjoy!

Try looking in the android dev threads. Lots of theming info and tools to decompile/recompile etc.
See how you go from there.
