[Q] [Q:] Tmo sgs2 adreno220 vs mali - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I searched and searched and searched, I really want to know if qualcomm 1.5 ghz and adreno 220 in the tmo variant samsung galaxy s 2 is equal in performance as his brethren that sport the exynos and mali gpu. All the benchmarks I can find for the adreno are on qhd resolution. I thought about it but I couldn't find any backing to my theories that the adreno would run faster on a wvga resolution than qhd since the sgs2 is a wvga.
and would the qualcomm 1.5ghz soc run as efficient and fast as the exynos clocked at 1.2?

[Q] a little help from you people........

dear forum...........
im going to buy a new smartphone.....
at this moment i have two ideas.....
1. galaxy sII
2. lg optimus dual[lg 2X]
GALAXY SII with
Dual-core 1.2GHz ARM Cortex-A9 proccessor, Mali-400MP GPU, Exynos chipset
LG OPTIMUS DUAL
Dual-core 1GHz ARM Cortex-A9 proccessor, ULP GeForce GPU, Tegra 2 AP20H chipset
what is the best.........galaxy or lg?
which gpu is the best geforce or Mali-400MP?
i dnt believe user ideas....can anyone tell me real deal?
is it true that these 2 phones have gpu apart of cpu? or is it intergrated to cpu? like laptop shared gpu?
The O2X is one of the most wretched phones ever to exist. It has LCD screen bleed, reboots randomly, overheats, and has Wi-Fi and Bluetooth issues. It's the subject of a class action lawsuit in the U.S. and a petition for recall launched by owners in the EU. Read the O2X and G2X forums.
GSII is the best out there atm. You can't compare LG O2X with that, even Sensation won't come.
Go for GSII eyes closed.
Regards.
thanks
ok im going for GSII......
and my last question is is it true galaxy s2 have a gpu apart of cpu?
something like......
1.2GHZ dual core cortex A9 processor with
MALI MP400 GPU?
or its combined into cpu like intel GMA or HD graphics?
or seperate processor and gpu?
Of course it has a GPU. And thats damn powerful.

GS II is the best!

ULP GeForce VS Adreno 205

Hi guys,
Please tell me which GPU will be the best for both Gaming and smoothly HD video playing, I know it's also depend on the other parameters and hardware but here m talking about only GPU so which will be best and more powerful the Nvidia ULP GeForce Or the Adreno 205 !!
Some body ans. plz ..
hmm in my personal opinion i would go for the nvidia gpu...dont know all the specs of both processors but have benchmarked two 1ghz dual core phones one with nvidia gforce and one with qualcomm adreno 205 and the gforce just is more overstanding with games benchmarks and videos but the mali that is inside the samsung galaxy s2 exynos beats them both

Pantech Burst - 1.5ghz Dual-Core

I just picked up a Pantech Burst and it is advertised as Dual-Core 1.2Ghz, but when I ran Qualcomm's Benchmarking utility (and Quadrant) - they all show 1.5ghz.
I called Pantech Support Line and they confirmed its a mistake!
Anyone else who has a Burst, download Vellamo, which is Qualcomm's Official Benchmarking Utility, to see the specs:
Cores: 2
CPU: 1.5ghz
According to Google it has a APQ8060 CPU. They may have had plans to underclock it originally, my Touchpad shipped with the same chip underclocked to 1.2ghz. But the processor itself is rated at 1.5ghz. Even on devices that ship with it set at 1.2ghz, its relatively safe to overclock it to 1.5ghz.
Hi, if you overclock Pantech Burst from 1.2Ghz to 1.5Ghz, did you notice any battery drain faster , and performance boost ?
Most everything is currently being discussed on another thread. atleast until we can get our own section on here

about adreno 220 real world perfomance 2nd only to mali 400?

in sgs 2 review http://www.anandtech.com/show/4686/samsung-galaxy-s-2-international-review-the-best-redefined/ the adreno 220 fall short compared to ulp geforce and the sgx 540 in omap 4430 on benchmark
if you look at the fill rate table chart the adreno 220 is the weakest while the mali 400 on sgs 2 is the fastest. this lead me to think why the exynos chipset always got the same special FX on gameloft games like the ipad 2 version
but actually in real world perfomance the adreno 220 got the same special effect on gameloft games(NOVA 3 , MC 3) like the mali and can run it fast on QHD resolution witrh playable speed
my lg optimus 2x overclocked (cpu.gpu)with the best kernel + rom cant run nova 3 full effect with playable speed even with reduced texture on wvga resolution
on the other hand i dont have any information if the omap 4430 can run gameloft game with fx turned on in playable speed,so maybe someone can share any info?

krait 400?

Hey guys on gsmarena are mega 6.3 is based on dual core krait 400 which is good than galaxy s4 krait 300 if the battle for single core or dual core only. Do you think if there is a kernel development here we can overclock it to 2.3ghz just like anandtech says.

I think it is snapdragon 400 with krait 200, not krait 400 because krait 400 is belong to snapdragon 800....
I think the most correct is Snapdragon 400 using Krait 300 similar in specs (and performance) with Galaxy S4 mini. You can find the exact chip model in the internet. Krait 200 for Mega is a typo error as according to Qualcomm website Snapdragon 400 with Krait 200 runs only at 1.2 ghz max whereas Krait 300 runs at 1.7 Ghz (Mega 6.3 and S4 mini). Krait 200 is slower vs Krait 300 even when run on same freq and is used by entry level phones (not Mega 6.3). You will also find Snapdragon 400 in quad-cortex A7 flavor for entry level phones (slower than Krait 200).
