What app is causing this notification that is a star in the corner of the menu bar? If I click it says "Great News We're hiring in your area...." it the opens a browser page.
Kind of seems like malware...
Anyone know?
What does Task Manager say is running?
some devs are now pushing ads to the navigation bar. Check out an app called Airpush in the Market which is supposed to block this annoying behavior.

I just recently started hiding my notification bar with launcher pro and I noticed a weird bug with handcent SMS pop-up. When I go to do a quick reply the keyboard covers up the text box so I can't see what I'm typing. Anyone else have this issue or know how to fix it?

That is not a bug of LP.
Can't you disable the KB on the popups in HC? If the error is after you hit reply and bring up the KB, I'd be willing to bet that happens on ADW/TW too.

Basically I get a text and the window pops up. I tap in the quick response window and the KB pops up. When I have the status bar showing the quick response window moves up allowing me to see what I type. When I hide the status bar through LP settings the quick response window doesn't move up when the KB pops up. The issue only happens when I have the status bar is hidden.

I'm pretty sure that's a keyboard glitch. I also use Better Keyboard and get that on settings screens and such, but I use ADW. Although I also hide the status bar so maybe you're on to something.
So.... don't hide the status bar? Problem solved.
Well I've tried couple different keyboards and its the same with all of them. I like handcent for the custom notifications. I also like to hide my notification bar so maybe I'll let the dev of LP know about the bug.

This has been reported at handcent forum, although it happens whenever you receive a popup regardless of what app you're in, if the status bar is hidden (ie fullscreen browser, game, etc) so it being a LP issue doesn't look likely...
Hi all!
I just downloaded the app SwipePad, which lets you swipe from the edge and have a launchpad with my favorite apps, but i don't like the icon in the notification tray. There is an option to hide the icon, but if i close all apps in the task switcher, SwipePad closes too. Is there an app that let me force android to keep open the app without the notification icon? I have seen multiple apps with root support, that hides the icon, but keeps the app running, but that isn't build into SwipePad.
Thank you in advance

Bump! Sorry...
Noticing that the Weather app shows up in Recent Apps even after I close it. I close the app, wait a few then it shows up again like it has to open to refresh. Anyone else see this?
Several apps I have installed like to post momentary notifications when they perform something in the background (presumably so they don't get killed). These notifications bug the crap out of me and I'd like to disable their respective notification channels. However, they don't appear long enough for me to lower the notification shade and long press on them. So I have tried to determine what channel they come from using numerous notification history apps, but none of these apps have been able to show me what channel the notifications are from. Does anyone know of one of these apps that does show the channel or some other way to determine what channel the notifications come from?

Hi,
Maybe you could try to check in the stock notification history. To find it go to widgets and create a setting shortcut. There will be a list which will contain "Notification Log" or smt like that. Create the shortcut and when you'll see those fast notification just check your history right away. In the best case you'll find the channel, but if you're not lucky, you'll still got the app that does it and turn all its notification off (if it is really annoying)
Have a good day

I'm on Samsung Galaxy S20+ so the settings shortcut doesn't work. I have no difficulty getting the offending application, there are dozens of apps that will show a notification history, but I've been unable to find one that shows the notification channel.

If the settings shortcut method doesn't work, I don't have any other alternatives. I've never heard of an app that could retrieve the Channel, but I knew that it was possible to have the Channel ID in the notification log. In Android 11, this "notification history" feature will be added, and you'll have much more infos than right now.
Use the good lock app "Nice Catch".
I have many persistent notifications where the app won't work if it's hidden - E.g. Adguard, Lastpass, Whatsapp and more.
Is there any other way to hide them but still have a full functioning app in background? Using P30 Pro currently.

You mean hiding the notification using notification controls make the app stop working ? I used to hide the spotify player from appearing in my notification shade, but the music kept playing. Maybe let them open in your recent apps menu. Also check in the "Battery optimisation settings. Usually apps stops working because it's stopped by battery optimization.
nope, battery optimization is disabled but if it's not kept running in the background USING persistent notifications, the app will be killed.
anyone knows how to hide all these pesky notifications?
