i have the pro version and im trying to go from 6 to 7. i have all my user apps backed up and when i try and restore them on 7 they all error out. i nandroided back to 6 and verified them and they are all good. when i try and verify them on 7 they all fail
i updated to 7 yesterday and my titanium pro converted without a hitch... sorry this may not really help you but at least you know it should work in theory on that build.
well after not being able to restore adw settings i think its a filesystem problem. mainly that i guess i enabled encryption after the last flash. so im going to undo that and try
edit: nope not it. ill just wait for 8 to come out and flash and start over from scratch

Go back to 0.6 and delete all of your backups and re-backup. Worth a shot.

I'm running CM7 and hadn't been back into WebOS since the first day I got the device. When I went back in this morning it had an unlock password. I tried everything I thought I would have set. So i'm locked out of WebOS. Does anyone know how I can recover the password or change the password or disable to lock while in CM7? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I faced this today. Went surfing and can't find a easy way out .
What I later did is to run cwm backup, run Web doctor, redo novacom after putting cwm and moboot into cminstall, restore Cm7 from cwm backup.
Everything came back nicely

OK I'll give it a try thanks. Did it wipe any data from your Android install? I think it would be really cool if someone could figure out a way to do this when in Android as well.
Why not go online to HP and have them resend it to you. Its easy and also this is a good way to protect if it gets stolen.

Just to make sure, mount as USB mass storage after cwm backup, Copy your backups, anything important stored on the fake sdcard /media etc (I used titanium to backup my apps also so copied the backups for this too ) before running novacom.
From my 1 time experience, the Android partition was gone, only the fake sdcard was left untouched. That's why I suggest cwm backup restore method.
Also, after restoring Android and confirmed it's working, boot Webos to properly setup the account. The other time I just installed cm without bothering with WebOS, thus ended up with a unexpected lock up like you.

Has anyone tried this APK to see if it's compatible with Rezound? I downloaded the free version but want to know if the pro works like it should. I believe the Pro backs up APK data.
https://play.google.com/store/search?q=app2zip
Edit:
I just flashed a new ROM and tried the free version of the APK. It worked with the exception of a couple APK's having FC's. I had to Re Install Swiftkey 3 and Titanium backup was giving me a little problems but it corrected itself. I'll report back any other issues I find but so far this APK is a winner.

Also curious to see whether this works reliably on Rezound. There is one review from Rezound user in Play Market.
Also curious what makes this better than just restoring the \data partition via Amon Ra after flashing ROM update (wouldn't do that between different ROMs, but within ROMs, I have).

I have the free version and it is very easy to re-install all your apps. I did notice that when I went from GB to ICS some of the apps didn't work so I had to re-install from the play store (4-5), much easier than trying to re-install 60 apps manually.
I have the pro version from an older device but I never really used it with the Rezound. What do you want me to test? I can try it.
Maybe I can make a flashable zip for some random app and you can see if you can flash it?

I'm principally interested in whether the app enables persistence of Exchange data across ROM flashes by enabling a backup. Right now, every time a new ROM is flashed, or even if I switch slots in Boot Manager, I have to completely resynch (i.e. recreate) all Exchange data. With 1700+ contacts, that's a serious impediment.
Frankly, I'm not sure where that data is stored...whether in an app or in a setting, or even if it's in the data partition. Maybe I should go hunting for it....
I know MyBackup Pro will back up contacts, but every time I use it to restore contacts, then sync with Exchange, I end up with two of everything.

I used to be big on using the exchange server for contact sync. I never found a way to restore contacts without duplication errors.
Maybe if there was a program that would use pst or ost files you'd be able to install contacts via sd card but it would also have to sync with Exchange server.

CWM is not a reliable recovery on the Rezound (and this is a Rezound thread).
Try with TWRP or better still Amon Ra 3.15 which is the most reliable recovery on this handset.
That having been said, I did try flashing this through Amon Ra immediately after flashing Newtoroot's XxX Sense 4.0 ROM (but before booting the ROM, then returning to recovery) and I got bootloops. Had to rewipe and reflash, then didn't try restore this way.
I had been running Cleanrom4.5 for the last 6 month with out flashing(pretty long run for me) So I finally decided I would try the Nils Business 4.0.3 S3.6 rom. But I did not do my safety back up with TB or make sure that all my contacts were on google. So I have lost what seems to be about 6 month maybe 100+ important contacts entered in the wrong folder so they were not syncing.
I am trying to do a nand restore to go a back up done a month ago but it will not boot just gets stuck after the boot animation comes to a stop. The old back up was with an older version of Amon Ra, so maybe it was just a change in the way back and up restores are done?
Any tips would be great. Some times I get no problems skipping the safety steps of updating and other times I get screwed!
Sorry man, you should always sync your contacts with google.
Are you s-on? You may try fast boot flashing the boot.img after you restore the nandroid.
Yes S-on. Do I need to extract the boot img and place it on the SD or does it place it there for me? I am guessing i will have to move it to the root and rename it PH98IMG...?
Yeah I just got cocky thinking that google had all my contacts, I think i must have had the last 6 months of contacts in a folder that google was not syncing.

You could try reflashing cleanrom, and reboot to bootloader to flash the boot.img just like always. Then restore your nandroid without wiping.
Thank you GreyTheWolf that sounds like a good fix! My brain just got stuck on me being a dumb ass and need a kick like that to get rolling in the right direction again!
This doesn't help your current situation but as an added safety measure you can use MyBackup to back up your contacts (and other stuff like mms) just in case of something like this. It works great.
I am currently running clean rom, and wanted to try out beans town rom. After 4 failed attempts at install, I had no choice but to give up and go back to clean rom.
I followed the directions in the post, I even wiped system and formatted... still no luck. As soon as I swipe to install in TWRP, it says failed in red.
What am I doing wrong? Any thoughts?
I've tried searching, and haven't been able to find an answer.
Thanks in advance.

I would highly recommend redownloading the ROM. I also would take the opportunity while you have CleanROM up and running to update your TWRP to the latest version. You might need a clean TWRP install as well. Do these two things and hopefully you'll have no problem in your next attempt.
Btw, my procedure for flashing is as follows from TWRP (0 Failures to Date):
Wipe Cache --> Wipe Dalvik Cache --> Factory Reset --> System --> Internal Storage --> Format Data --> Install
WARNING: Please be sure that if you're installing from your SD Card (which you should be) that you at least have one ROM that flashes properly (i.e. your CleanROM version) or you might brick yourself if you can't get the Beans9 to flash.
Best of luck to you sir! :good:
Also, Beans has released version 10 of his rom. So at the moment, I would download Beans 10- rather than 9. Also while you are at it, be sure to update your radio if you have not already done so. It improved my 4G speed considerably!
Make sure to check the hash values of the files when you download them. Especially the radio files.
Well...after a lot of headache and strife... I was finally able to get Beans build 10 onto my phone. I can't exactly say what it was for sure that was causing so much trouble. But what I have found is that TWRP 2.4.1.0 wasn't reading the zip files from my extSD card. So I had to install Clockwork recovery, then used it to reinstall TWRP 2.4.1.0
I then downloaded the from zip file directly to the internal storage over WiFi using the factory browser instead of Chrome. Then booted into recovery, wiped both caches, factory reset, and then installed the zip/rom successfully.
This is all after I had to take the phone back to stock, then go back through the rooting and unlocking process. This is because I had wiped system and did a data format in the attempt to clear my phone of whatever was causing it to fail opening the zip/rom for build9. Then not only was I not able to open and install beans9, but I also wasn't able to open/install the CleanRom Lite I was already running.
What and adventure... glad its over and I am enjoying beans build 10.

Wow it sounds like a you went thru a lot getting up and going. But, I'm glad that you did
While you are at it, since you have the Beans 10 up and running, I would do a nandroid backup.

Lol, absolutely.
I forgot to mention, the nandroid I made for my cleanrom wouldn't successfully restore when all the roms wouldn't install. I was really left hanging out to dry there too. Argh.
Needless to say, I don't think I'll be in a hurry to swap roms anytime soon.

I wonder if it has to do with the version of TWRP you are running. I am still on the older 2.3.2.3. I did see that the latest/greatest version is 2.4.1.0 but didn't upgrade to that because I read some posts about folks having issues restoring their nandroids. I would like to use the latest version but if there's issues, and mine is not currently broken, then for the meantime I will stay with my older version I wonder if 2.4.1.0 had anything to do with your issues?
But at any rate, I am glad that all is well now

Hi there ibm2010,
There's only 2 radios:
I605VRALJB
I605VRALL4
VRALJB is the one that came with the Note 2 originally, while VRALL4 was the radio update released OTA on January 18, 2013. Click below for more information, and also to download the modems:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=36942418&postcount=1
Also, to check which version you have, from the main screen on your N2, press the menu button, click "Settings", click on "About phone", and then look for the line that says "Baseband version", and mine is I605VRALL4. Originally had the first one, I605VRALJB, and then updated mine using TWRP to I605VRALL4.
I would recommend that you download both files to your external card before flashing, just in case.
And as always, use at your own risk.
Regards,
Stat
I think I may have found where all my grief stemmed from... I may have very well had gone through all this trouble with trying to load these zip files from the external SD card, when the SD card most likely is responsible for causing all the trouble in the first place by not allowing itself to carry nor open all of the zip files....fake/bad card.... This is a Kingston brand 32gb class 10 sdhc for reference for all those curious.
I used an app from the market called "SD Card Tester." And I did this after reading a couple other posts unrelated to mine that were experiencing bad/fake microSD cards being purchased from eBay, and using software to check their authenticity and size. Kingston is a legit brand as I've owned their 8gb flash drive for about 6 years and haven't had any problems with it even one time. So I don't want to go blaming the brand for anything, rather this batch or maybe the one I got is a knock off from ebay.
Anyways.... Hope this helps others out down the line, as in the future I now know I will be checking any flash memory I buy for using software in order to verify the capacity and readability is accurate as to never have to go through what I went through losing all my app backups and nandroids.

Sero pro 7 USA, Titanium pro, CWR Novice user I have rooted 2 devices.
I'm guessing my questions may have been answered on this forum somewhere but I don't have much luck finding specifics when searching
Thanks to help here I rooted my sero pro 7 USA. I ran the "do all" package of the DoPa6 it failed at the loading part.CWR loaded fine
Then I read I had to start at 2.0. It installed fine. Works great and LOVE the (irritating) snapshot button removal. GPS seems faster/stronger too.
After reading I realized I would prefer DoPa5. Tried it... aborted status 7. Tried a couple other ROMs . .Aborted.. Got tired of reloading went back to 2.0
I like it a lot and is much better than stock but I wish I could try some other things now that I am rooted. I read somewhere that the newer ROMS wont work with CWR they need TWRP to load. CWR is installed now (I'm guessing in a partition because I don't see it in the App drawer.)
Q:What is the problem?
Q:IF needed, How do you switch from CWR to TWRP and get rid of CWR?
Speaking of a partition, I have a little less than 2gb in the system memory and not a lot of visible things using it up. I'm guessing there is a partition somewhere that has titanium backup , CMR backup and other stuff in it. The backups for both never went to my SD card and actually I was afraid when wiping I toasted them but they were there.
Q:Is there a way to adjust the partition to suit my needs and backup Titanium and CWM to SD card by default?
Thanks.
