I have Vegan-tab gingerbread 7.0RC1 pershoot bl1.2.
Flash no longer shows up on my installed apps. When i search for it, It says it is not compatible for my device, google maps does the same thing too. Does anyone else have this problem too. I just noticed it last week.

Yeah, that was the only problem I had with that ROM. It seemed to always happen for me when the tablet would hard freeze and I had to reboot. Once it boots back up, anytime I access the Market, everything was not compatible with GTab.
I never found a solution other than returning to HC. It was a good ROM and that was the only prob I had with it.
Does [BL1.2]VEGAn-TAB GingerEdition v7.1.0 solve this issue?
Yes, it is much better running Vending 3.1.3.
If you have superuser rights, use AntTek App Manager to backup flash, than delete it from system (even sys application version), the Hulufied version from ASOP Ginger posts. You might need to install, update from market, remove, and install Hulufied version to stick.
Just download it on the PC..then hook up your GTab to the PC...drag the Flash 10.3 (Yes that one will work) into the storage on the device. Then download it from there.
All the apps (And there was ALOT) that shows up Non Compatible with your device in the Market...will actually work if you do it that way.
Thank you for all the responses. I went for the upgrade option to Vegantab 7.1. I am very pleased.

Using the latest Vegan experimental build based on gingerbread and loving it. However the market is kicking my butt. It opens and shows apps, although not all apps, and even shows that i have purchased some apps if i come across them in my searches. However the "My Apps" tab is always empty, showing no downloads. I've tried all market fixes i could find and have used market enabler to no avail. Am i the only one with this issue? I should mention that the market was working before with TNT 4.2 and then with Vegan 5.1. Help is appreciated!

seems to be a gingerbread issue with our tabs for the moment. Can't purchase apps either.
Ok,well there is some comfort in numbers! Just curious if i had done something wrong with the install and was the only one havong the problem. Thanks for the info, i'll just keep watching the forums.
Has there been any status on this? Running latest Vegan-Tab 7 Experimental, and now my market myapps is empty as well.
Been using app center app (found in apps section of this forum) to fill in the missing holes from market place works rather well
I've tried every flavor of Gingerbread rom, and it's the same thing on all. When you first install GAPPs, and open the market, everything installed and all purchased apps show up in the "My Apps" section, but as market or something updates, and as soon as you exit that first time it's empty since. When I flashed the latest version of Vegan Ginger back on the 8th I used the universal CM7 gapps off the cyanogen wiki page.

I've still had the empty "My Apps" but am able to download and purchase apps with no problems. As best as I can tell, I have as close to full market as you can get. (Haven't searched for anything that I couldn't find)
Can't find the Market App on Vegan Gingerbread experimental.
Greeting,
I rooted my Gtablet with latest Vegan Gingerbread experimental.
It all went smooth until
Part Three – Install Flash and fix Android Market
Step 3.
Open the Market app. Once it loads close it (press the home button).
I installed flash, but I can't find the Market App of Step 3. Is that expected?
The tablet functions really well in everything else.
Thanks
It's labeled Experimental for a reason. I'm sure when Gojimi gets back from vacation he'll have more time to get more up to date on some of the cm7 fixes. This issue is known in the thread for that rom. If you need a stable market go to 5.1.1. Me I'm dealing with the market woes for now myself.

I wouldn't follow the walkthrough for that step. On the vegan gingerbread thread, gojimi put the market update file there to download. It's on the first post of the thread. Once you install the market with clockwork you can find flash 10.2 in the market. The walkthrough you're following links to 10.1

Thanks,
This tip help clear out my confusion. I expected the market to be there. I had no idea it needed to be installed on it own.
Thanks again
My newbie two-cents
I soft bricked my gtab one hour out of the box, but thanks to the Almighty and you guys I'm running vegan-7 and loving it. Market works great and so does flash. This was my first Rom mode, but it won't be my last. Thanks to all who post here and let the games begin.
Loving my gtablet! Installed vegan and the market and im rocking and rolling with one issue left to solve. So i downloaded and installed the latest version of flash, but in firefox and the stock browser no flash videos will play. They show a link to download flash, which leads me to their site saying the device is not supported. What am i doing wrong here?
Firefox doesnt do flash. I am not sure why the stock browser is not working. What flash did you install and what rom you running? In the settings of the stock browser do you have plugins enabled, off, or on demand?
Info
Flash version is 10.1.120.1
Running VEGAn-Tab v1.0.0b5.1.1
thanks for your help!
Uninstall that 10.1, look around and get the more recent Flash 10.2. You can get it from freeware lovers if you dont have the market set up... Also, not sure about Firefox, but with any of the browsers make sure you're looking at the site in 'Desktop' mode
Got it to work!
Hey it works! I had to fool with the browser settings and install the version of flash recommended and i couldn't be happier! thanks you guys. this is an awesome community.
Can you post the steps you took to resolve this issue? Ie, 1. Uninstalled Flash 10.1, 2. Went to Market, searched for "Flash 10.2", etc. That would be helpful for other people that have this problem (especially what browser setting you had to change).
I know that Flash is bundled with VEGAn 5.1.1, but all of the sites I go to say that it isn't installed (or need higher version than 8 or 7 or whatever).
I went to the market and it doesn't list Flash no matter how I search. Shouldn't 10.2 be listed even though 10.1 is installed?
Thoughts?

I couldn't see Flash 10.2 until I did the market fix.
Settings -> Applications -> Manage Applications -> Press the 'All' tab
Scroll down and look for 'Market'
Clear Cache, Force Stop
Return back to the list and look for 'Google Services Framework'
Clear Data, Force Stop
Now go to your Market and it should error (that's normal)
Reboot and load Market back up and Flash should be there
I did the Market fix 3 times until I could see it.
But that might not work for everyone. In that case you should look into this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1020130
I still cannot see flash videos on sites like espn.com. it just shows a picture instead of the video.
I have done the market fix a number of times and still don't get Flash to show up. Grr...
Maybe I will try a few more times for good measure or try the alternate method mentioned by Hachi2go.
This method worked on the first time when I needed to get the Facebook app.
I was unable to get Flash with this Market fix up.
To frustrate me more, my co-worked just tried this easy fix and Flash just popped up for him. Grr...
I had to go to the other thread and change the device ID in the build.prop file.
I thought I was having a Cyanogen issue, but it turns out this is happening with every rom I've tried. I'll get the rom(Cyanogen 7 stable, latest nightly, Vegan Ginger edition, Calkulin's) and when I try and download a rom, it begins the download then stops, telling me "download was unsuccessful, please try again". I used to be able to get twenty or so apps installed before this became an issue, but now it starts right out the gate. I've NVFlashed a couple of times, still get this happening. I've partitioned the memory(2048/0 I believe), so that's not the issue. Also tried clearing market data, etc, nothing. I'll try another NVFlash tonight, but does anyone have a simpler solution?
Have you tried TNT 4.4 yet?
I love the ability to push from my PC's browser Market and with my TNT 4.4 ROM, it recognizes as Malata TNT Lite 4.4 and works perfectly.
After 3 weeks of flashing/reflashing, I found TNT 4.4 is the most solid, stable ROM and worth to use.
I really enjoy my tablet with TNT 4.4 now rather than flashing...flashing. The part I love the most is my Gtablet TNT 4.4 Market fully functional so I can make the software purchase from my PC browser and push from there....
Good luck!
No, it's not a rom specific issue, it's a problem with my tablet. I cannot download anything from the market with my main Gmail account. Read a post from another forum member with the same problem, and he found something interesting.

*UPDATE 4/18/11 - On a whim, I decided to use ClockworkMod to reset my User Data, and signed my tablet in under another Google account I had. As I type this, I'm downloading all the apps that I was unable to download with my "usual" account. So maybe there's a bug on Google's side? How would I even go about fixing that?

I signed in with a different Gmail account, and sure enough I can download anything with that, just not my "main" Gmail account. I guess I could go on with a different Gmail account for my tablet, but I have so many paid apps that I'd like to use on my G-Tab.
I installed G Harmony V2.6. Kernel ver 2.6.32.42, on my Woot gtab, eveything went well. The Market has all the apps i could ever want, but sometimes when I choose one to download the install button doesnt appear where it should be. For instance adobe flash, no install button. Angry birds rio, has an install button, installs and runs fine. But Angry birds 1.6, no install button. I went through all of the unlocking procedures, got the error message, rebooted twice, and still don't get the install buttons. Any fixes?
"Download" button often missing in new market
I have the exact same problem. I'm running the VEGAn-TAB GE 7 rom. Ever since Market updated itself, many apps no longer have a download button. Apparently Market thinks my device is a "Malata VEGAn-TAB" and prevents download of any apps it thinks are incompatible (e.g., Flash, even Google Maps, etc). Is anyone else having this issue? Anyone know of a fix or have any ideas? Thanks in advance.
Same problem here
no download button
I have tried partitioning the sd card, the market fix, and editing the build.prop file with no luck. There are still apps that dont have a download button for me!
WHAT TO DOOO
I have the same problem with Calkulin + Clemsyn Combo Overclock at 1.5 ghz V6 ROM. I followed instructions at Goodintentions' viewsonic gtablet for dummies website and everything works great except for some apps I can't download. The apps appear in the Market when I search, I see the description, screenshots, etc. but no download/install button. A friend of mine has the same Gtablet with the same ROM and the same issue.
I believe the root cause is how the Gtablet device is being identified in the Market. For example, Starbucks is not downloadable. When I go to market.android.com, it shows the app is installed on my Sprint HTC HERO200 phone (running CM-7.0.3, Gingerbread 2.3.3).
The Gtablet, running Calkulin + Clemsyn V6 ROM shows up as Sprint Malata UPC300-2.2 and it says "This item is not compatible with your device"
I now need to defer to Android experts, can anyone please help with this Market identification issue on the Gtablet?
The problem was how Gingerbread was identifying the device to the Market. I got frustrated and switched to GTabComb. Very glad I did. Everything works great. Once you switch to Honeycomb it will be very hard to imagine going back to Gingerbread. You'll wonder why you waited so long.
It works perfectly now, in Froyo. Follow viewsonics gtablet for dummies website, go to howtos, then market fix. I was doing an extra step which broke the process. Follow goodintentions process exactly and it works!
I'm looking a bit more at rooting via manual nooter on OS 1.4.1.
As of now, the Android Market is not working
In my hands, the BN shop is also not working. Books cannot be downloaded. (The reader does work, though, so you can shop and then download to your PC, then push the files in manually if you like.)
Together, those two elements not working argue against rooting 1.4.1 for anything other than study and development, I think.
- 1.4.1 installs on a device which had already been rooted (this device is rooted but not overclocked.)
- boot from a manual nooter 4-5-18 disks works
- after applying MN 4.5.18 and the APK enabler, the device booted. Root was retained and SU works fine (I was able to use adb wireless)
- install via ADB works
Other things to be aware of:
- this is not a Gingerbread release for the NC.
- the home button behavior is changed a LOT. Home Catcher for the Nook Tablet will also work here, though.
- the device automagically snarfs Google contacts if it's registered to a gmail address, it seems. There is no warning on that. I think that behavior is a Big Effing Problem.
About to try hopefully it works. I know I couldnt install update on 1.3 with CWM going back to complete stock and then update and then MN.
Yes, if CWR is written to your boot, you cannot install BN updates.
It might be possible to use a flashable 1.3 installer to write only /boot, reboot, then update to 1.4.1. I know there is a flashable 1.3, but I do not know where it lives.

Yeah I went back to 1.3 stock and then to 1.4.1 update.
It would be nice if some one conforms about Market
"It would be if some one conforms about Market"
Yeah, wouldn't it?
I'm figuring from the lack of screaming it's probably working.
Market is up. Some apps still missing. Having a bit of problem with Zeam launcher. Nook launcher is taking control.
Straight from my ICS i897 Sonic Screwdriver!!!!!
So from a rooted 1.3.1 you:
Use CWM to install a vanilla 1.3 ROM, then update to 1.4.1 via B&N download, then root using only 4.5.18? I seem to remember to root 1.3.1 you needed to root with 4.5.16 and then 4.5.18.
I have been able to use 4-5-18 without any problems on both 1.2 and 1.3.
You may not even need to install the vanilla ROM - you may well be able to install to a rooted device, so long as you have not meddled with /boot, either by installing a CWR boot internally or by overclocking.
My fast experiment this morning involved updating a rooted 1.3, then rooting that resulting 1.4.1.
Anyone check to see if it will still boot from an SD card, just want to confirm before update, but because it is still rootable I can always downgrade.
Edit: I am in the process of updating as I type this, I will post the results in case anyone else needs them.

Others have tested and confirmed, but that's not something they can change on this device with a software update anyway
Good to know, I hadn't seen it yet but my testing confirms this, thanks for the reply

In my case the Market runs but it's totally useless: I can't see my apps, it doesn't find most of what I want to install and when it does I can't install anything (it just goes back to the Apps menu). So it totally sucks since the B&N market is really lame!

For whatever reason, many Nook Colors that come stock with 1.3 installed just bootloop if rooted with 4.6.16, even if rooted first with 4.5.18. I can confirm this with a new NC purchased for my girlfriend's mom. Runs OK if just rooted with 4.5.18, except for it having the ancient market. Haven't been able to update the market yet, though gmail will update itself.
Updated to 1.4.1 (had to return to stock 1.3 to install the update, even without CWM flashed), using homecatcher to overcome the new "n" button "feature", but market is hit and miss. Was able to download and install Astro, but Titanium Backup doesn't want to download and install. I'll try sideloading it later.
What's the new n button feature? Is it possible to make a flashable update, like with 1.2 and 1.3?

If you press it once, it brings up the B&N "dock" that used to be at the bottom of the screen. If you press it twice, it brings up the B&N launcher.
Correction, I thought I was able to download Astro from market, but apparently I didn't. Now I've got no way to sideload apps, which makes this pretty useless...

ADB commands are your friend! Pretty much as long as you can enable ADB you can sideload with zero issues.

I realize this, but this nook is a gift for my girlfriend's mom, who lives out of state, and I know there's no way she's going to sideload everything using ADB... I need to get her a working market, even if I've got to go back to 1.3 and disable the update.
Ended up using 4.5.18 on my stock 1.3 NC. ADB Sideloaded in the Kindle app and a couple others and used the Nook App Manager to drop icons out on the main stock launcher page. I was really looking to add teh Kindle app so I could read all my purchased books on a single device, so I'm quite content. I'd like to see better market, etc but it's not a dealbreaker for me.
Just in case someone follows this thread, rooted 1.4.1 is working well now. manualnooter-5-12-18.zip does it for ya.
Market works. You can add non-B&N apps to the B&N app and home screens using Nook Color App Manager. Putting the Kindle app on there is no problem. Netflix, HBO GO and Max GO work. Hulu Plus refuses to run on the device. B&N subscriptions download and update the dock. B&N enhanced content (e.g. Wired magazine) work fine.
If non-techie friends and family want an enhanced B&N Nook Walled Garden experience, this will do it!
