Anyone have an idea if we need to add a task manager that will close open applications when we move from one application to the other ?
Does the Jetstream close the applications by its own task manager ?
I didn't manage to find out, anyone has a clue ?
You shouldn't need a task manager, Android manages it very well on it's own. If an app does misbehave just go into settings/applications and close it there.

Is it actually possible to close down the browser (without doing a force close)? e.g. let's say I have four windows open and I want to close them all ... I select menu > windows > close each one down ... but there's always one window that can't be closed.
This is fine if you're on wi-fi, but what if you're out and about on data and the page automatically updates? I guess you'd have to open another non-updating webpage and close the other one.
Or am I missing something? Is it possible, other than through an app manager, to close it properly?
Thanks

Use a task manager.
ex. Advanced Task Killer Free
theoretically, once the browser is no longer the app with focus, it hibernates and does not download anyway...
but yeah, task managers work.
Hi everyone, I got a little question for you: I've noticed that everytime I activate data connections on the phone, all google apps and other internet related apps start automatically in background. is there a way to stop this behaviour?

You can install a task manager like advanced task killer, and add the services and apps that automatically start to the autokill list. That way, if any app shall start, the task killer shall automatically kill the app.
allready tried with this but still programs are autostarting...
How does one do that if it's possible at all?
I'd like to have, say, Opera, stay open until I close it.

dont use advanced task killer, or any task killer for that matter.
i would also like to know if this is possible. i would like to keep widgetlocker and 3G watch dog open at all times but when ever i use task manager to clear the memory, it closes both of them.
Dont use a task killer or manager but if you do normally they have a whitelist in settings so you can check any apps that you want to be left out of the task killer so they stay open.also can be called an "ignore list" too.if you go into settings you should see something that will be called whitelist or ignore list depending of course on what task manager you have as they are not all the same.check the apps that you want to be left alone and save.the next time you manually or automatically kill your apps the ones you have checked will not be touched.
unfortunately, the OOM built into android may close ANY app eventually, depending on the amount of available memory you have. the only real way to prevent it is to adjust the oom grouping and priorities of said app(s), also known as bullet proofing.
i would pm zeppelinrox regarding this, as he developed the v6 supercharger and has vast experience with this subject.
if u make sure u have enough free memory, then no application will be closed. If u have any application killer software then make sure to exclude the application from that software
hi
is there any app that blocks another apps to start. for example if i close the facebook app and remove it from the memory with the task manager, facebook starts after 10 seconds again. i dont mean apps like task killer that kill the app after it started. i hope you understand my question

Android by design kill tasks when the resources become sparse. For this to work, an app must be able to request to be restarted once this occurs - the app (or more correct, "service") is sticky. This is why when you close the facebook app, it's restarted within seconds anyway.
If you are running Android 4 (ICS) or later, you can tell the phone not to autostart apps at boot directly from the Settings menu. Enter settings -> apps -> all, select e.g. Facebook, then click the button "Disable". Now it's gone, and for real this time! The disable button is at the place on the "Uninstall" button, and uninstallable apps are not possible to disable this way - but you can always remove them.
Some apps are neither disable nor uninstallable, though.
But if the autostart app is parental control r something like that, it wold be harder. Firstly the thing would not let you to settings. You could fool it when some settings notification appears, like there is wifi, by clicking on it you will get there without a problem, but you would not be able to delete it. To deal with it, I do personally recommend this: Root your device, get total commander for android (no, trust me, ES would not make it), open TC, get to mnt/asec where are stored installed apps files, find folder attached to that app, change the permisions that everybody could write in it, change ownership and group to some of your other apps and delete that folder. At the end, there shoul be emty folder with an emty folder in it. That should **** up the app so much that its not going to work anymore. Now you can do whatever you want.
Use Purify app
u can use boot manager module in xposed
I'm using clean master and it allows me to bock these app from autostarting.
It can solve by greenify pro smartly. You can google for greenify. After installing greenify (xposed installer) (need allow some feature) allow the modules it will work 100℅. If any errors message me on Facebook/n3xt2u
when i go into manage applications then "running" i see a whole host of applications that i don't want running in the background
is there a way to permanently stop them? i click stop but it just reappears soon after
There are lots of apps for this. If you´re rooted you should try startup manager or some other apps. Try google it
i tried them and they didnt work. apps still shown as running in application manager
