DockService and PortalApp apks - Motorola Photon 4G

So the wifi is starting to annoy me and im finally just going to accept the .7 update that keeps popping up on my screen and just re-root. The issue is it keeps failing (i already know why) so i need the stock DockService.apk and the PortalApp.apk. I know I could download the stock rom and extract them but the service where I am now is god awful so if someone could be so kind and upload those 2 small apk's for me id be truly grateful! I dont know why I failed to make a backup of those but im just going to swap them out with root explorer so this stupid update wont fail anymore....
Thanks in advance!

You do recall the instructions said to copy the originals to .bak files, right? This is why.
You need both the .apk and the .odex files for each.
It will take me a little while to zip the originals up and attach on a later post.

[MODS] Notification Bar Icon Removal

I just had success following this thread here.
I removed Time and Battery icons. I will post a flashable .zip for the current ROM I'm on later tonight.
The instructions are clear in SteelH's thread and can easily be followed. However, if you'd like some help, I can try to do it for you. I can't promise anything though.
This was done on NonSense ROM

downloading now! i'll mess around with it and post up the finish product when done.
ok,
three problems
1.)no audio
2.)waaaay to big, pick your best 40 seconds(at the most)
3.) grainy video, dont know what the res was but try and make it at least 480(720's better).
i would say that the flashing M would make a great ending loop, we just need to fill in the rest. get those things squared away and i can make it up for you(better res is optional, but preferred)

Can someone please help me with Mean Rom

I'm sorry, I can't provide you with one. I can give you some advice though...
Just download a Sammy based ROM and extract the sPlanner.apk. Or write a more detailed post about what you want to do with it. I think people need to take the effort of doing the extraction for you, and for that you need to show them some effort... at least let them know what you are doing with the file.
Amen to that..

Rooting for Dummy (Me)

I got my GS4 today. I love it but there is a TON of things pre installed that I don't want. I've never "rooted" a phone before. I've read over some ways and it looks confusing as HECK. So a few questions. 1: Is there a way to "root" and just take away all the apps that are unwanted, and leave the same basic OS and apps I still want? 2: Should I wait a few weeks until everything has been tested and such before attempting? 3: Should I try to "root" a phone I already have that is inactive? 4: If so, I have a Droid 3, and a Casio Commando that would make good test subjects.
Now remember, I'm a noob. But I love the idea of being in control of my own device. Thanks for the help in advance.

check that link for a root guide.
very simple and straight forward. all links provided for what you need to download and even links for dummys and noobs.
look around, ask around. but always search before you ask otherwise you might get flamed and chewed out.
PM me if you need any further assistance to rooting the S4. I just rooted mine with that guide, took less than 5 minutes. there are way more complicated ways to root, so this guide already dumbs it down A LOT.

It's all in the guide. All the info, step by step, is there. Just follow it. It tells you have to verify root.
After your first flash, you run SuperUser?
Once you do, you can download a root checker on Google Play or use adb shell (you prolly won't use adb shell cmd though).
Once you verified you are rooted, you flash the 2nd file.
But since you seem to have already completed the full process, just go to google play and download a root checker. Run it to verify you have root. Simple.

Get Titanium Backup on google play. It costs money, but well worth it, imho.
This app lets you freeze or delete unwanted apps. Just be careful not to delete something you need that makes the phone function properly.
