Don't flash KI3... its not good firmware at all (IMO).
and regarding you question: yes, i have noticed the pink spot on camera.
I flashed back to KI4 today.

Curious, for me it's by far the best firmware I've tried. Also, lots of people are reporting great results with KI3. So, I suggest give it a try and go back if you don't like it since what some may dislike the other may love and vice-versa. Regarding the pink spot maybe it's harware related and can't be fixed with firmware updates? I don't know, don't know much about cameras really.

Is there a fix for the bad focus on the camera?

I have the same problem. Sometimes it's not there, but sometimes it's ridiculously visible.
2.3.3
2.3.4
2.3.5

if the pink spot is there I don't see a reason to update, I don't have any problems with my rom XXKG5, I need a fix for the pink spot issue.

Have you tried to search "CAMERAS2" on SamsungApps? There was a firmware for the S2 camera. Some say it fix pink spot (anyway it didn't work for my S2).

Sadly no. 720p/1080p videos still stutter and lag while the camera struggles to focus in low light. Only fix is to lower the exposure to -2.

KI3 is the best I have used, next time it would help for you give reasons for your opinion, for all we know it may be user error
And I have the pink spot issue, it only appears in specific conditions and it has not been an issue for me, I have never updated firmware or anything.

Video to Camera mode

I recently received an X10. I was wondering if anyone else has a problem with switching from video to camera mode and vice versa? For me, it's unresponsive and takes forever to switch back and forth between them. Do you just click on the icons? Maybe I'm doing it wrong (though I can't imagine how). If I can't fix minor issues like this, I'm going to pay $105 for a Captivate as a replacement.

All good here, 1-1.5 secs to change. What FW is on the phone?
Same Here - switches between modes quickly..

That's strange. Do you simply press the video camera and then it changes? When I press it, it's delayed so much that I don't even know if it's the phone or not. Everything on the phone is stock.

Ok, thanks. I guess I'll change my phone to either a Captivate or another Xperia. I really don't feel like waiting for 2.1 or the "kits." I know it won't fix a lot of things like multi-touch and 16m colors.

I already exchanged it for the Captivate. It was running whatever is stock with the phone. Thanks for the help, though.

As there are about 6 different versions so that doesn't help, and might have been resolved if you updated from an older version.

Sorry, I didn't know that. Also, I didn't have much time to check since I had to get it done today, and it's not my phone.

It was one of the first things I asked as you'd mentioned replacing it, and as I've already said, that or any other issues you were having might have been resolved with a FW update. Anyway, you've swapped now.

[Q] Why is my friend's camera better?

My friend has the same phone as me, the Galaxy S2. His phone and mine are both running 2.3.4 gingerbread and are on T-Mobile. He bought his a few months after I bought mine and the camera is much better than mine, they both are on the exact same settings and his pictures are much clearer. when comparing pictures of the same thing he can zoom in on pictues he has already took with unbelieveable quality while mine blurs when zoomed in. Does anyone know why this is? My picures aren't bad quality but his are immense. Thanks in advance, Harry.
Edit: We were both on the exact same settings and compared photos almost identical to eachother, taken specifically for comparing. I'm currently on Lite'ning rom v6.1 but even before i rooted his camera was better.
Are you sure you have same camera drivers? I think that might be the case. I'm not an expert, but by reading people problems with camera I guess that might be the problem that you are having.
Check the settings between the 2. Maybe you have it set to macro focus, like my cousin did.

u sure its EXACT same variant? check the exact code for that model ( i9100 international )

Both pictures taken by ensuring the GS2 is on a stable platform? Camera handshake might amount to something.

We have taken a lot of photos making sure they are fair and his phone is always MUCH better when we zoom in on the pictures.
i have similar problems. my photo, taken outside, is quite blurry and smudgy. this is one of the example.
i'm using the international version.
i havent root or change my rom.
my lens are clear, they have no fingerprint on it.
this is one of the example
I posted in http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1543848
But yes, I'm another person who is having the same issue. Same settings all throughout (not dynamic or movie, no macro, superfine etc.). Looked at the screen and it was clearly different. Zooming in looks terrible.

[Q] Screen Burn

I have had this problem for a while now and been reading about it so kinda need some clarification :-/
I currently have a faint keyboard burnt into my background on everything i do on my phone which gets very annoying especially on light coloured backgrounds.
Turning your phone off / on is meant to cancel this problem but it has not worked , I have tried turning it off for short and long periods of times (upto a day).
Is there actually any real way of getting rid of this problem or is it a phone fault ?
BTW - If this helps, I have stock ROM 4.0.4 and currently using Nova Launcher Plus, also using original samsung keyboard.
Could be a problem with the rom. You can try flashing another stock rom, like 4.0.3.

Most ridiculous advice I've read in a while. Amazing :good:
It's just screen burn, because it's an Amoled screen. Nothing you can do about it.

I dont really want to tamper with that kind of stuff. Looked into Flashing your own rom using ODIN whether being stock or not and its not for me tbh
Do you think this is a valid reason to take my phone back and request it to be replaced? Had this phone for just under a year now.

There is really nothing much you can do, because it is usually temporary. Try turning your phone off for more than a day.(you could try) to let the pixels or crystal return to their natural relaxed state.

Problems with the led flash of the camera :S

I'm having troubles with the Note 2 camera Mod. When I take a picture with flash, the photo is very dark , almost you can't see a thing. But without flash, the picture is normal. What could it be? Omega v34 syah kernel 1.8.4 installed.
I've discovered that the problem is the flash. It works well when do the autofocus thing, but when it takes the picture, the flash is really really short and with a low light. What could it be?
Thanks

Problem with camera flash

Hello everyone, a question to all owners of SCL-L01. It happened to me yesterday to take pictures with the flash of the camera and came out with a color tending to purple. I immediately thought of a hardware malfunction but with surprise also in that of my work colleague come out like that. It does not seem normal to me, does it happen to you anyway? Attach sample file.

I tried with daylight and already it's better but I do not understand automatically because of this shade? I have an old Samsung terminal that behaves a lot better .. How are your photos?
At the moment I downloaded Footej and set it with daylight and active flash, so when I need the flash I'll take that one. I really do not understand, even my friend's Huawei Y5 device works very well.

My photos are usually fine , but honestly I don't expect much camera performance from a budget phone let alone with a custom ROM.

One moment, I am now the stock rom but I do not speak of quality in herself than to me is fine, but the flash when activated produces this horrendous purple color.
Have you tried to take a picture on a white surface with activated flash and auto-balancing? Would you be so kind to upload it here?

Thank you very much you have been very kind! At this point I think my device is faulty. I do not think it depends on the rom, I've tried different but the problem remains.

If you got time it would be best if you flashed a ROM and checked if the problem still occurs , if you don't have time the easiest option is to tweak the white balance manually .
how are you with the Viper? If I have time I want to try to install this rom and see if the problem is solved.

Pretty good , but the camera is the same as most ROMs here , below average , going to test desalesouche's latest lineage to see if it's any better .

Audio recording sounds fine from around 25cm , will try to test it.
Install both the Viper and Lineage yesterday and unfortunately the problem remains! I do not know what to think, if a defect of my device or this model has this strange feature. However, it is safe to have a white balance and when set to automatic does not work well. I downloaded yesterday I said Footej that I will use in flash mode with balancing set to daylight and the camera stock for all other situations. If there is someone else with my same "problem" I would be happy to compare myself with it.
