Hello all!
I am trying to find a good app that can play tv shows like the big bang ....and more
thanks for helping!
Not sure if you'll find any on the Market, as there are probably copyright issues and such...
try Hulu if you have their service available...
Good luck!

The TV.com site and app are owned by CBS. That app would let you watch the newest episode of some CBS, CW and Showtime shows. It also has episodes from older, "classic" TV shows. But the number of full episodes is pretty limited. It doesn't require Flash, so even someone with a crappy phone (like myself) can use it.
You can also watch a limited number of TV show episodes with the Crackle app (requires Flash).
ETA: Both of these apps are probably available only to people living in certain countries, like the U.S.

Do you have the market address for this app? I could not find it.
market.android.com/details?id=com.veetle
Crackle lets you watch TV and movies for free they have a pretty good selection. Not going to find recent shows but they have some good ones and a very nice selection of movies.

A couple of guys in the office have recently gotten iPads & the boss is now talking about getting a couple of iTV's for the meeting rooms - to compensate for the fact that they never put proper IT infrastructure in there...
Will it be possible for me to connect with my TP? I'd hope to be able to flick through images, show & mark up .pdf's and possibly open some CAD files on the telly screen. Being able to use YouTube & play movies would be a bonus...

You didn't use use google didn't you?

One option would be doubleTwist with the optional AirSync plug-in (which adds the Airplay functionality). Otherwise, you could just mirror the Prime's display using the micro hdmi output directly to the television for a wider choice of content.

But this doesn't mirror the Prime's screen, which is what I'd like to be able to do. AFAIK that isn't currently possible. Correct me if I'm wrong. We have an AppleTv in one of our conference rooms at work and I would like to link to it for presentations, etc.
Thanks for the responses. It seems that the solution I'm looking for does not exist. Shame... I will however install one of the airplay apps & see how that works out.

I do actually. Do you understand the question I asked, because your link doesn't answer my question...
If you have a 3rd Gen Apple TV then doubletwist doesn't work with Video. It works well with Audio. I had a case going on with doubletwist where they ended up refunding me the cost of the Airsync plug in as it wasn't working as it was supposed.
I think with 2nd Gen Apple TV you might be alright, but I haven't tried it.
I was trying out an app called 'iMediaShare' or something of the likes the other day. I was able to go through photos, videos, music (as long as it is stored on your device and not in gMusic), and youtube over an Apple TV. Looking through it, I do not see any way to go through PDFs or CAD designs though. For everything, your best bet as of now would be to use the mini HDMI and find separate apps for everything.
I have tried both AppleTV media player & iMedia player, but I cannot even see the Apple TV in the devices list. Its a third gen...

I'm UK based so I can watch I player on my computer which also gives me live broadcasts. But on my tablet or phone it will only give me a mobile version that only allows previously screened programs. So no live TV .
So unless you're using a computer and can spoof your location it will not give what you are looking for . You may have better luck with a different European broadcaster.
The only way I can / do watch the Olympics is on regular TV. Sorry I can't be more helpful but it my save you some effort trying to crack something that doesn't show it live.
If you have cable you can use the nbc live extra app and watch live streams. You need to sign in to your cable account.

Not just cable. Satellite and other providers too.
If you're in the US and have a major provider for TV, chances are it's supported by NBC's apps.
Get these:
NBC Olympics
NBC Live Extra
London 2012 Results
The NBC Live Extra app works very well on my touchpad running CM9 alpha 2. The streams have been smooth so far and look pretty good!
It's annoying that NBC won't let me watch replays of the more popular events though :/
Olympics
I've been using the CTV London 2012 app with CM9 7/7 official nightly. Its been good so far

unblock-us
I use unblock-us v2.7. http://unblock-us.com/ It's a one week free trial but it allows you to watch the bbc live streams from http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/olympics/2012
I have it on my desktop and TP. Works just fine and you don't have to put up with all the commercials nbc throws at you.
NBC app works but is too big for the screen. Can't see any of the lower buttons. I just installed CM9 for the first time. So I'm a little behind. Am I supposed to change the DPI? to what?

My PS3 and my smart tv pickup my windows computer over wifi enabling me to show pictures music and videos on it. Im assuming this is a windows feature that allows it to show up like that. Is there any type of app that can fake the tv I to thinking my phone is a wi dows media?
I may be using wrong technology terms here but hope what I am saying makes sense
Hey,
There are many apps for that in Google Play, the technology is called "DLNA", just look for that in Google Play.
I use imediashare for displaying videos and pictures on my Sony TV. But with this app you normally send your media to the TV, and not the other way round.
Just try it!
Greetings,
Phil

I'm away from my TV until after the new year (im with my parents for the holidays. I was trying to get more information regarding if I need to get extra stuff on my TV or what else is needed.
Worked awesome!! I downloaded Skifta
Thanks!
Hey Guys, heres the deal, I own the following.
Galaxy Nexus x2
Nexus 10
Ipad 2.
hanging out at your house with a bunch of people having beers and want to show everyone some cool video you found?
Well guess what, No one wants to stare are your stupid phone or tablet! Nobody cares.
However, Beam it to your sweet tv set and everyone will check it out.
I own a Boxee box and a WD tv live + these stream all my content and are dlna capable, etc..
With my Ipad If I want to shoot a youtube video to the boxee box connected to my I just hit the airplay button. This is seemless and fast.
However it does NOT do HD.
On Android you cant do this manually. BOO!
This is until I found imediashare. This app finds any capable device on your local wifi network. Smart TV's Boxee box - xbmc, etc etc.
Go to youtube app, start a video, hit share - imediashare icon. BOOM, goes right to your tv set.
The best part in all this is that it will beam HD, I tested by beaming the new Lincoln movie trailer,
started the video hit share, and my boxee kicked the tv display to 1080p and it played Beautifully!.
Check it out its pretty sweet.

They have a light version too, but i think its nuetered to sd content..
This also shoots any other media on your android device as well.
cool app and no wires needed!.
Cheers!
Great! I'll give it a shot and report back in a while
Thanks I was looking for a good airplay alternative. This might fit the bill nicely.
I've been using Twonky Beam with pretty good success beaming media to my Roku. It is completely free, which is great. Quality looks fantastic although I'm not 100% sure if its full HD. As far as I can tell its just passing on the link to the video stream directly to the Roku and nothing is actually streamed via the phone.
Anyone else have experience with both?

What will come first the app for flash player on WP8 or a new OS. I think this is biggest lack of app now. It seems there is no end in site for flash, its time MS paid for developing it. Anyone have any insight on this WP8 missing piece.

Meh,
The only page I've come across that needed flash was the one for a local restaurant. The majority of the sites have minimized or move from flash, or aren't intended for mobile devices.
That said, I'm sorry you can't create your new candy concoctions or tend your farms from your phone, thought there are plenty of other games that you can play that run natively on the phone.

perhaps you don't read BBC or stream video from tv sites. Thanks for cotton candy speech.
Adobe as of the year before last pulled out of the mobile market. That means flash is not even available on Android devices now unless you get a third party app that may still be floating around. All websites are supposed to be converting to HTML5 if they want mobile viewer traffic. If they have not converted then they are only interested in PC traffic and you should boycott the site to show them the traffic they are missing. Rather than make your work, you should make the sites do what they are supposed to do.
My android phone (Asus PadFone 2) is capable of showing live streams on Twitch.tv with the default browser, but I have no idea how. If I try to play a video from the day before on the website, it says I need flash player, so it only works if the channel is live. On my Lumia 920 however if I go to Twitch.tv, it says I need flash player, even if the channel is live... So how is it my PadFone can show live streams if its still flash-based, yet I get an error saying I need flash if I try to play videos from the day before?
I tried an unofficial Twitch TV app. on WP. It works well, but you have to pay to not get cut off every 5mins or so. I wish WP would also be able to show live streams on the actual Twitch TV website.
