I just received my DroidX2 today. I installed Widgetlocker purchased version, and it installed fine. I used to use it on my DroidX. When i try to set a custom slider though I run into an issue that when I click on the drop down menu to select a custom slider the program force closes every time. I have uninstalled and re-installed the application and the same thing. Has anyone else had issues with Widgetlocker and DroidX2? HELP!
I have widget locker, it works for me, no problems. In order to get custom sliders, I hit menu button, add, add custom slider, and it gives you the option to download themes from xda... Hope that helps...
I have the custom themes downloaded already it is when i try to use the drop down to select the theme that it crashes every time. So far I am missing my Droid X. The gallery on this phone is crazy as well. It shows you every picture ont he device and even some documents when you try to pick a wallpaper from gallery instead of giving a list of folders like the Droid X did. I hate it.

Does anyone think it would be possible? The widget is nice and clean, telling you the amount of apps running. If it is possible, I'd like to use it in LauncherPro.
Me too (running Galaxy S I9000 though). I had a play around, found I could run it as an 'activity' in LauncherPro, but only running in its own little screen, not as a widget. Had a play around with the apk and some basic dev tools, considered either copying the app but making it a regular widget which could then be installed like any other, or creating a new app that runs the existing activity (like LauncherPro) as a widget. Unfortunately, either I'm not skilled enough or it's not possible (or both - I'm not skilled enough to properly work out that it's not possible ).

Like most widgets, just being able to glance at the Program Monitor widget rather than open Task Manager is faster, that's all
Good news - I looked into this a while ago and was stumped as per my previous post. Then a couple of days ago I stumbled upon how to properly decompile the widget's apk, which I have now done. Very busy with other work right now, but will look into trying to turn it into a widget that runs on any launcher as soon as I get the chance - hopefully as an easily installable apk file (by recreating the program as a standard widget), but possibly might need to be an update.zip file (modifying the program in /system/app to run as a standard widget). Will post any updates.
That would be awesome - I have been googling this for a while now and I didn't think it was possible to do. Keep us posted!
The same as me ! Keep us posted if any news !
I too would like to get just this running again.
Any word on this? I love the widget.

anything ever happen here? Got Bionix v1.2 with TW launcher but program monitor is gone. Love to get it back
nothing with this yet? it'd be a great addition to roms.

Can't believe that i haven't came across this thread but if it hasn't been answered. A port has been created and it's called "Active Apps". Try a search in a market and it should appear.
Well the closest you are going to get it seems is active apps. It's not as fast, and it doesn't show everything (I.E if you hold home and bring up the task manager, it will show your aftermarket launcher as an active app, where Active Apps doesn't show it if it's running on top of it)and it's a little laggy, but you can theme the icon, change colors, it doesn't monitor battery use and change colors but it's still the best you are going to get for a program monitor style app.

hi everyone this is my 1st droid and just totally blown away by the amount of things the atrix can do vs my old blackberry bold my productivity at work has gone way down since I've gotten the atrix but anyways I'm running ADW launcher and I downloaded the black theme for it to change the icons to match my wallpaper better. I placed my most used apps in folders on my homepage but I've noticed I named the folders but then they randomly dissapear on me the names that is. But then if I open them up they are named correctly and if I confirm the name again it will re-appear but then dissapear again a short time later.
Should I try to uninstall and re-install, is this an issue with this app.?
Thanks Again
Nevermind guys I found what was going on , looks like everytime I would go from potrait to landscape it would clear the folder names. Fixed the launcher to potrait and all set!

Yeah, I had the same problem with the icon changing back to stock but setting it to Portrait-only fixed it as well.
^ well glad to hear it wasn't just me lol. But I ended up switching to Laucher Pro Plus anyway but to anyone else fixing it to potrait will fix this issue.
Is there a way to get the gallery to work like it did on the Droid X? When I want to select a wallpaper or change an icon it shows me everything on my sdcard. I would like it to show me the list of folders so I can choose where to look. Can anyone out there help, I just received my DroidX2 today and this is driving me crazy when trying to set an icon or wallpaper as it list almost 5000 items.
Gallery 3D
Does gallery 3D let you find your images via folders when changing and icon and wallpaper? This new gallery is terrible, I do not want to scroll through 4739 images to find the one i want for an icon or wallpaper.
That's why I recommended it...
Install it and give it a try. With that many folders and pictures it will take a long time to load fully the first time. After that it should be good.
Thanks downloading it now and installing it. Here's hoping it works, this new gallery BLOWS LOL! If it will download that is another issue with this Droid X2 half the time downloads don't seem to work and I have to reset the phone to get them working again sometimes reset multiple times, and I have 4 bar 3G. I miss my Droid X.
Well I have restarted my phone 3 times have all bars 3G and the file still will not download. I never had these problems on my X.
I would try clearing data on your market app. You won't lose anything except the "Automatic Updating" for each app.
You rock. Gallery 3d finally downloaded, and it does what I want for wallpapers and icons. WOOHOO! THANK YOU VERY MUCH!
How do you clear market app data?
Settings - Applications - Manage Applications - All Apps - Market - Clear Data
Thanks again. This will make the phone a little easier to bear I wanted the Bionic LOL.
No problem. The Blur gallery is cool if you only have pictures from your phones camera, but totally unacceptable otherwise.
I think the Bionic people are gonna feel stupid when the Prime and some other phones hit soon. It's not that much better than our phone, save the LTE. Especially if you flash a ROM, such as Eclipse. Runs very smooth and fast. And a replacement laucher like Launcher Pro is a must.
Good luck.
This is a awesome launcher and has one of the best looking weather widgets I've seen. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1557091
Worth looking into. What version did you download?
Either of the ones that say qHD works. I tried both and they are exactly the same.
I just loaded this on my MO PHO & am quite impressed w/the smoothness of the scrolling on the desktop. I would like a vertical scrolling app drawer, but, this will be a non-issue once I get the desktop all set up.
Great find! This works great! Very nice.

I modified the app drawer icon for mine to the xperia icon from the AnaKonda rom on the epic 4g touch. Ill upload it in case any one wants to use it. This one just move it to system/apps and set permissions then reboot.
Last picture didn't work.
It looks nice, but browsing the instructions I see a reference to ClockworkMod Recovery. It doesn't seem to apply to me since the instructions say, for the condition that applies to me, to skip that step. I'm not rooted and I don't have CWM, straight stock 2.3.5 Electrify. Can I use this? I'm quite happy with GO Launcher EX, but I like to try new things. I even tried ssLauncher (for about 10 seconds, haha -- not my thing but I did give it a shot).
Just extract it on your desktop,or with a file manager on your device.Install them like you would any other normal apk. I like the folders, they're like the ones in GO,and the transition from drawer to home, and vise versa is super smooth.no custom icons,or any of the other features youre accustomed to in GO though.

From any homescreen: Menu, Settings, Applications, then tick "Unknown sources". If it's ticked, I don't know what to tell ya. It worked fine for me.
This launcher is a bit light on features. You can set the number of home screens, but that's about it. Dragging icons has kind of a neat effect like the icon is wobbly, and the trashcan animation when you delete something is similarly nice, but this launcher is basically crap. It's like a stock launcher. Which I suppose it is/that's the point, but it's still worth noting.
Oh, and it has app drawer sorting, which I haven't seen before, but everything other than alphabetical is random and doesn't do what it says.
And the widgets cannot seem to be used with other launchers. So there is that. Shame about that, widgets tied to a specific launcher. Sense does this as well. Is there really no fix for it? To be able to use widgets tied to one launcher, in any launcher?
So far I love the phone. This is the only phone I've had in a long time where I haven't wanted to load a custom rom the day I got it. There's just one thing I don't know if there's an option for, and something else I'd like to change that I hope it easy being rooted.
1. Is there a way to make the vibrate patterns apply to text messages? So far they only seem to apply to incoming calls.
2. The little dots on the bottom that show what page I'm on. Can I get rid of those or move them to the top of the screen?
ok, there's a 3rd I guess. The green phone icon, is there an EASY way to change that? Not thrilled about a couple others either like the contacts one. Don't know if there's a simple way to go in and swap out the image file for a different one or not. On my Galaxy tablet I was able to go in and create custom icons on the computer and use a program on the tab to select what program I wanted it to open, but that was a long time ago and I forgot how to do it, or what programs I used. If that's what it comes down too though, guess that's what I'll have to do. Just wanted to know if there was an easier way. I don't mind the icons themselves, just the colors. Not a fan of green or orange. Blue would be nice.
Thanks in advance for any help on these. Besides this stuff, absolutely LOVE the phone...
hope this helps...
1. I don't see any place in the touchwiz messaging app's settings to customize the vibrate pattern for texts... some possible solutions would be a custom ROM with the stock google messaging app rather than the touchwiz app, or somewhat less extreme would be to install a 3rd party texting client from the play store and see if that setting is present in that app.
2. I'm not sure if the touchwiz launcher allows you to hide or remove those little indicator dots, but you can open up a million options for homescreen launcher settings by installing a 3rd party launcher from the play store like Nova Launcher or Apex Launcher. Currently I'm using Apex and it is great (still rocking the stock experience until CM9 gets a stable release).
3. As for changing icons like the phone, calendar, calculator, etc. This is another thing that can be customized using a launcher like Apex.

1. Have heard others complain of this issue, so I don't believe that there a way to do it. Don't use that feature myself so...
2. Again, I'm not sure, but I think you're stuck with them. You could use a launcher that allows more customization. I like apex.
3. Download an app called "icon changer" and a icon pack or theme with the icons you would like to use. You can then open the application and select the app you want to change the icon of and pick a new icon. It will create a shortcut of the app with the custom icon on your home screen. Great for changing icons on your home screen if you want to remain using TW. If you decide to use an alternate launcher like apex this feature is already integrated and you have the ability to switch the icons within the app drawer as well.

Thanks for the quick replies. Trying to stay away from a custom rom on this phone. There's just nothing I'm really unhappy with that much. There's always something that goes wrong when I load one. Not saying there's ANYTHING wrong with the roms themselves, there's just not that much on this phone I'm not happy with, unlike phones I've had in the past. I'm coming from a Desire.
Thanks for the Icon Changer app also. Changing them on my tablet was a pain in the butt, this was nice and simple. Any way you know the dimensions of the icons though so I can create some of my own?
