I have just bought a HTC Mozart off my friend, the phone is unlocked but it has still got the Orange network branding on it.
Please could you tell me how i can install a new rom that gets rid of all the Orange branding.
Sorry if you have been asked this a thousand times but this is my first mobile 7 phone as i was previously on HTC android and it bored me stupid lol

Hi Guys
Apologies if I did not search hard enough (i tried), I am a total noob to android and hero (40 hours!) so need some urgent help please. I am preparing to update the ROM of my unlocked UK Orange Hero (it was unlocked by the seller I dont know how, but is working in Pakistan). The rom suitable for this is the orange UK rom at the htc UK site. If I update the rom normally, would it relock my phone?
Please help, need to know this before I update and I am aching to update...thanks a lot. If there are workarounds to this (for example, some other ROM, either official or unofficial that I can upgrade to without issues) please link me to it as am having trouble finding the right threads I guess if they exist.
Thanks again in advance for your help people!
11 reads and no advice? Guys please, need to make sure before I update, and I do not want to wait much longer to get rid of the lags...please
thanks
If once unlocked it stays unlocked, however there might be SPL issues.
SPL? pls elaborate a bit
If it is a Orange UK Hero, you will be able to update to the latest Orange UK ROM, and your device will still be unlocked.
I believe with the "SPL Issues" referred to by Lord Lucan are that you won't be able to "easily" replace the stock recovery image with something more capable. However, there are ways around this too, so it shouldn't be too much of an issue.

Dave

Hi all may i beg a bit of advice regarding my locked SGS2
I bought a SGS2 off ebay that was ment to be O2 locked. I am on O2 currently and coming off a modded HTC HD2. Anyway I have rooted the galaxy s2 with lite'ning mod v1.2 which is all good.
The problem is that the phone is stuck in the EDGE network for I assume o2. It was like this before on the stock ROM. I have played with all the settings, turning data on etc but am unable to get a 3g connection where my old HD2 got one with ease.
When connecting to keis 2 the firmware version comes up as PDA:KE7HONE:KDJ/CSC:KD1 (CPW)
Does this mean the phone is locked to the carphone warehouse and not O2?
When i run chainfire's sim unlock app it is v quick and gives a code of multiple 00000s then nothing. I am stuck on EDGE until I can sort this. I am nervous about trying the code again regarding the warnings! Any help very much appreciated

No it means its using the CPW CSC which has O2 network in it .
You can always try the O2 settings entered manually .

aargh I'm a fool! Thanks for your reply JJEgan but i've fixed it with the obvious step i forgot to do - factory reset! allowed O2 settings to be recognised.
All good now.
Mods pls feel free to delete this post.
Thanks
Hello,
New to the forum, and this is probably a noob question, but after trawling through loads of threads on here my head is spinning and i need some advice!
I decided to upgrade the ROM of my hd2 today as i am having problems with sending sms. i bought the phone second hand recently. It is sim unlocked and there is no carrier branding on the phone that i have noticed.
I tried to get a ROM from the htc site and got the not suitable message, long story short after speaking to htc i found my phone is from the Czech republic.
Now i have had a look at the ROM flashing tutorial and i am confident with doing it, however i am unsure about whether or not i need to use the Goldcard method?
Can i download the latest ROM from the UK HTC site and put it on my phone just using the Hardspl method here?
Thanks for any help offered, and sorry if this has been asked before, but i couldnt find an answer to my question.

yes HSPL will be fine.
Thanks for the help, one other question though. Is there a way i can back up my current rom just incase? couldnt find any info on it other then reloading a stock rom.

Hello friends. Im new member in this forum and on the android world.
after plenty of my efforts to root my phone I havent yet succeeded.
at the moment my phone is restarting again and again while the htc screen appears.
I am on vodafone australia.
I have the vodafone RUU australia.
I have succesfuly achieved the setup but keeps on restarting.
Help please
Hi all, hoping for a fairly swift reply here...
I have an HTC 7 Mozart that was factory unlocked at purchase (Im in UK btw). I downgraded bootloader and installed Dynamics2.0 Rom and have had a fantastic time and really enjoyed using this phone and the ROM by Dynamics has been awesome.
I have now bought an iPhone and intend on selling my Mozart on but would prefer to sell it with a Stock ROM on instead of a custom one to help avoid confusion for potential buyers.
Can anyone help me locate the RUU to help flash back to stock or can this readily be done with just Zune?
I wanted to try the RUU (exe) file in this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1343905 but when i clicked the download link it says that I am not authorized to access that part of XDA-DEVS
Any help much appreciated.
