Going back and forth between Alien and CM7 - love CM7 functionality, but occasionally need some of the stuff still in work on the ROM and will decide to go back to Alien.
One thing I find myself really missing is the fact that CM7 groups your widgets when you go to add - so instead of having 8-12 widget options for a single app, you'll have one entry for the app that says (12 widgets) or something similar.
Is there any way to flash this functionality onto the system if running a different ROM?
Thanks!
Homebase 6.2 Blue Chronic rom has this as well as cm7...

new to RAZR after 3 years Of samsung Touchwiz UI.
Have to say this, the motoblur light is incredible to me. I have never loved a UI so much before. Having had AOSP gingerbread and touchwiz gingerbread, i can't believe this is still gingerbread. I have no desire for ICS anymore. My friend has a Nexus with ICS and I find it boring compared to this.
Have to ask, how is this light? It seems like a complete gingerbread makeover.
My favorite features:
1. cool toggle for mute on lock screen.
2. Favorite contacts widgets with pull down
3. Social networking combo with better comment support than facebooks own app
4. swiping pages transition glow.
5. Honeycomb like resizing, drag and drop to screen.
6. Folder groupings and animation for it.
7. messaging looks like iphone.
8. MUSIC APP. wow. This is just amazing. (internet radio, podcasts, my own stored music, music store). The way it automatically downloads lyrics and shows them as the song goes. etc....... ++++++
9. clearing out individual notifications.
10. Weather widget
How is this motoblur light again? wow, what a phone!
-New overwhelmed user.
Having used Touchwiz and stock Gingerbread, as well (as well as CM GB and several others), I agree completely. I never thought I would say this, but Blur is better than stock. Hell has frozen over.
Blur=root and put stock rom

I too am enjoying Blur on my Razr. Love the Favorite Contacts and Weather widgets. The Dock looks gorgeous.
I came from the Eris with sense. Tried every ROM possible with many different launchers, but have no pressing urge to switch besides backing up my homescreen setup which isn't a big deal since I'm not flashing ROMS every week.
I actually don't mind the blur either. I run adw though because i don't like the blur icons and like the swipe up-down feature of adw. Blur runs smoother but that's to be expected.
I also like the Blur and stock widgets are actually usable. I especially like stock corporate apps like corporate email, tasks and calendar. I use it on daily basis to accept meeting etc.
I saw several reviews that said this is the first phone without blur. They were either really wrong or misunderstood this phone.
Hello, I'm using Photon 4G with CM7.2, but I don't like the lockscreen in it, and other lockscreens too (Go locker etc.), most of all I loved the stock moto lockscreen. Is it possible to revert to it? Thanks
I'd recommend giving Milocker a try. It basically ports all off MIUI's lock screens to any other phone, and I've seen home created Blur lock screens in there that look pretty damn good.

Widget locker is an app for that I used to use and it let me create one just like moto and then add other things I wanted

CM comes with a couple different lock screen options included. Have you changed them in menu>settings>cyanogenmod settings> somewhere in one of the options (sorry, don't run CM so I don't know the exact path )?
Id check out the ones that are already integrated into the rom before installing a 3rd party lockscreen. The installable options aren't terrible but I've experienced consistency issues while testing and some don't play well with security set on the phone.
Regarding if moto lock screen can run on that rom in short, no. The lock screen isn't just an apk that can be pushed, and if it were I could guarantee there would be a dependency on the framework. That's how HTC used to keep people from jacking their lock screen back in the day. Now its all integrated tightly into the framework (or was it systemui now?) so you could design a theme for your lock screen that's moto inspired if you felt like playing with some apks and pngs. The Motorola lock screen isn't a far departure from being a themed stock lock so really there would be no smali work involved. Plug and play images, flash, change some more, flash .... repeat until happy.
I think youll be extremely happy with Widget Locker and CM7 together. Thats the combo i ran on my Evo before i got my Mopho. You can turn off the lock screen in CM7,and just run WL. Seamless!

1) Gummy comes with the APEX launcher which is fine. Works OK. Is there a way to go back to the default ICS launcher? Options default launcher leaves me on APEX.
2) SMS delivery reports. I turn them on. Doesnt seem to work. Worked OK on gingerbread ( EH03 and prior ). Some trick to getting that to work on ICS.
Thanks.
Simply download any launchers you want from market.....I currently have 6 different on my device to choose lol

Hello all, I'm using Meanrom 1.3 and was wondering if there was a way to remove the sense 3.6 lockscreen and use a more AOSP lockscreen? tried freezing it and removing it in titanium but it's still there! There's no settings to remove it like in sense 3.0 roms and any pattern/password screens are always preceded by this big clunky ring lockscreen. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Also I've tried "NoLock" from the play store but then there's no lockscreen whatsoever...I do want a lockscreen, preferably as close to stock ICS as possible.
I'm not using this particular Rom, but if there is a tweaks menu/icon check in there...
Otherwise, you could flash Leedroid tweaks, which I believe allows you to eliminate the Sense lockscreen. However, doing this may change your battery icon and you may have to reflash the battery icon you want. Also, I think that you're stuck with a GPS icon in the statusbar.
You could also download widgetlocker from the play store, this app gives you the ability to highly customize your lock screen quite easily. However, it is essentially an app running over the top of you current lockscreen, so it uses more resources than simply reverting to AOSP.

hmm any advice on which Leedroid to flash? the current CDMA one is a "teaser", tried flashing old and new firmware versions, both times screwed up the rom and had to do a restore (wouldnt boot at all)
I just tried it and got Aosp lockscreen.
Go into system/app then htclockscreen.apk, and rename it to htclockscreen.apk.bak then reboot!

There is Leedroid tweaks for ICS/3.6 roms in the dev section.

with root explorer remove HTClockscreen.apk and that's it
As much as I loved cm10, I was beginning to run into more and more app closes on a regular basis. Unfortunately it got to a point where I wasn't able to use many of the apps that I rely on daily. So back to stable cm7.
That being said, I miss alot of the jellybean love that cm10 brought to the x2. Was wondering if anyone had any input on apps or tweaks that could get more jellybean features into gb. So far I have found and use the following :
Holo launcher
Holo lock
GoSMS Pro with an ICS theme
I think I am missing the notification changes the most. I found jellybean notifications+ but that has been pulled from the app store.
Any input is appreciated, thanks!

I feel the same way. I mean I love what CM10 has to offer and I love the huge improvement in speed and functionality it gave to my phone and there are some things that are really making it difficult to want to stay on CM10. A really big one are the app crashes, and from what I gather, those apps may never really work since they use drivers at the kernel level that we won't have access to as long as the bootloader is locked. I can't use gmail at all except for reading the headlines of the emails. As soon as I enter the email, the app crashes. Obviously Chrome doesn't work, which is a browser I'd like to use. I've been using Dolphin Browser almost as long as I've had my phone and I can't use it at all on CM10. Another thing is wifi hotspots not working. I frequently tether my tablet to my phone's data connection and I can't do it while on CM10. The last thing is the horrible battery life. My phone seems to die around 5pm under the same conditions where my phone would last until 9pm or later on GB
unfortunately, the only thing to do is wait for CM10 to become more stable. I've tried CM7/9/10 and Eclipse and I keep going back to eclipse. 2.3 + supercharger + holo launcher is pretty much the best.
i loved CM10 while i used it but apps closing and such made it just unusable. hopefully dragonzkiller can get it working but at a certain point there's only so much he can do.

The problem though is that with the whole texture thing that ICS/JellyBean apps use that the GB kernel doesn't have, I don't think we'll ever get around those apps crashing short of using an old version of said apps without ICS/JellyBean elements...but then what's the point of running either one?
Guys question how do you claim to love cm10 when you can't use any major app like gmail or others.lol

I didnt have any issues with gapps, I even flashed a inverted Gmail and MMS with no problems. Some of my non-ICS optimized apps crashed out though.

Because aside from not being able to use some apps, JellyBean works amazingly. The operating system as a whole is wonderful and fluid and I'm gonna cry when I eventually downgrade because of the gmail issues and the horrible horrible battery life I am getting.
This isn't "Jelly Beanified" but will give you the ICS look if that is close enough for you. Check out this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1324924
Holo is great, but I don't care much for Holo Locker.
I use Widget Locker Pro instead.
It has some ICS and JB lock screen defaults and a metric poop ton of options for customizing the experience.
There is also an ICS Theme for the t-Mobile Theme Chooser app, between that theme, holo launcher and holo locker, it looks like pretty awesome. Other than applying these elements and maybe trying a theme patch using acPatch, I don't think you are going to get any closer to looking like JB. There is also a Jelly Bean status bar in the play store, but several users report that it's a ram hog. If I can get theses themes running on my MX2 with CM7, I'll post some screen shots.
Also, give this thread a look around, you might find some things you like:
CM7 Ice Cream Sandwich + Jelly Bean Look, All In One
I attached some screenshots. The ones with the Jelly Bean icon in the status bar were taken with the Jelly Bean Status Bar installed. I don't recommend it as it is constantly force closing. The rest were used with Holo Launcher, Holo Locker, and an ICS/JB theme for CM7
My sig shows Eclipse but I am currently running DZK's CM7
