[Q] problem with 3d lock screen - Thunderbolt Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I just downloaded Gingeritis 3d rom, and I was playing around with the lock screen settings and now I have stock pictures floating through the screen, and I don't know how to stop it. Yes, I know this sounds stupid, but I'm fairly new at this, sorry. If anyone knows anything about this please get back to me. Thanks.

At home screen press MENU
-> personalize -> lockscreen
Now choose your lockscreen layout.

Thanks baronmxc .That was to easy. Yah, I felt like an idiot asking for help with this. Thanks again.

Glad I could help. Also for future reference, you don't have to give a thanks post. Just click the thanks button to the post that gave you what you are looking for. We're trying to keep the forums tidy as possible.
By the way welcome to the Thunderbolt community.

gingerbread crt screen off animation on ANY build

theres people asking for this....and i don't think people should flash a non stable rom just for this animation....so here:
screen off and lock
doesn't use lock button, but you can remap long press of search button (i don't use google voice actions that much) to lock the screen with an animation.
hope this helps some people
oh....and if you're rooted (which most people on here are) you can pull the xml animation file and rename it lock_screen_enter.xml or lock_screen_behind_enter.xml, then push it to your frameworkres.apk/anim, it will be your animation for unlocking your phone. it's ultra fast and fits perfectly with the unlock sounds.
i'd include a video, but i dont have a digital camera....
Hmm, Im going to wait to see if someone tries this. Could be pretty epic.
Hmm I was under the impression that the frameworks prior to ginger bread had no support for that kind of animation.
Might when I get home, I really do like the tv animation

I guess pre-gingerbread, the sdk doesn't call for an xml when hitting the power/lock button. So that's why I use the feature to remap long pressing the search button.

doesn't give me screen off animation like in gingerbread on my Vibrant..... uninstalled.....
You guys have to configure it first, you know..... Look in your apps for "configure screen off and unlock" it's not that difficult.

I'm using a vibrant too....and it doesn't require root....so whoever can't make it happen: you're doing it wrong

Thanks for quick responcse, but also I'm not dumb. I've configured it and still nothing.
Do you have all animations turned on in settings/display?

I didn't call anyone dumb. Just said that it's being done wrong. I'm just trying to help, buddy. And it doesn't use the power button...read the op

alright, sorry , it sounded like ya think i'm a moron. I tried 2 times, reinstalled, restarted, and still no Gingerbread style tv off animation. There seems to be a slightly different animation when putting phone to sleep when I set it to "old style TV", but def not gingerbread , not even close.
So I guess I'm must be doing something VERY wrong with the simple instructions and setttings... IDK man. Not sure what to say,
Thanks for the app, unfortunately tho it does not give that GB style tv off animation
EDIT: yes I have all animations turned on, always do
I figure it's close enough for those who really wanted the animation like me. And it works in landscape. So that's a plus to me.
I just wasn't down to install an unstable gb build for this animation.

I'm not bashing at all. Just reporting back from my use of the app. NONE of the animations I select work , so maybe it is the ROM I'm using. IDK.
Ty anyways
That's weird man. Sorry it's not working for ya. What rom are you using? I'm using original bionix v.
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
Working very well, thanks man! Are there any ways to speed/slow down the animation?
EDIT: Can you also elaborate on unlock animation? Does this mean when we hit the power button the screen will turn on that way in reverse? I'd like to get that going, but would I have to know how to edit and recompile an apk? I've never really messed with xml files.
I mean the transition from your lock screen to your home screen/open app.

can we do this using root explorer?
What I do is take this app from data/app and bring it to my computer, and extract scale_old_tv.xml, and rename it to lock_screen_exit.xml and take your framework, and drop it into framework/res/anim

[Q] Soft Key "Search" Remapped/Changed

Is there any way to change or remap the useless "Search" soft key on the ATRIX?? Maybe someone could make a script that one could follow or maybe an app.... I did a search but nothing turned up for the ATRIX..
Thanks in advance!!!
eyo OP,
All I'm aware of is that certain apps can be swapped out for the Search key LONG press.
For example, I've remapped it to take me to Quick Settings so I can toggle GPS, wifi, autorotate etc from within an app without having to exit it. Another app it mentioned being able to map the Long press to was Miren browser (i've since switched to Boat mini. smaller footprint is all, nothing really wrong with miren's functionality)
As for completely remapping it? search function and all? I'm not so sure, and (sadly) I certainly don't have the dev skills to fiddle with any policy/build.jars
Sorry I couldn't help more.
All that I get for my search key long press is vlingo or voice search....

check this thread out...just read carefully. Might be of some help, but make sure you know what you're getting into.

Probably because those are the only two apps the system detects as viable. An app I saw mentioned was "Launchkey"...looks like the author for the linked thread is developing both. Seems to be what you're looking for. Just make sure the Atrix is liberated enough to meet the req's for those apps. Looks like it needs a lot of permission type deals.
Good luck.
Excellent!!!! When I get to a computer i'll hit up the thanks button in your favor
BTW- im running the new AT&T ATRIX software 4.5.91 with an unlocked bootloader... works fantastic...

Hello,Hello.I have a simple.request..(Yes i am a noob and is still learning about this website)and that is for someone to make a Evo 3D lockscreen theme..where the weather flies towards the screen and you can then use the "circle"at the bottom of the screen to drag up and unlock the screen...i have searches like hell for something of such and cannot find it...I wouos greatly appreciate it if it were done..Also.Im running SGS2 on 2.3.5.If there is another page on this please link me to it.

WidgetLocker slider up?

I am planning to make some WidgetLocker themes, but I had a query. Can we change the direction of unlock sliders. For example, what if I could drag the unlock slider upward...? Is there any xml that needs to be edited..?
I'm not sure how to do it because I haven't tried editing any sliders myself, as of yet, but here's a couple of links which could help you.
You can search in the WidgetLocker FAQ thread and hopefully find what you need.
Here's a vertical slider as an example which will give you a good idea of how it can look and might help you out a bit.

On screen Nav buttons

Now that we have root, does anyone know how to install the MOD we had for the SG3 where it would add on screen soft keys and make the home button ONLY wake up the phone. It would also disable the capacitive buttons....I miss this so much...absolutely hate the Samsung home button.
Thanks ahead of time!!
On-screen nav is literally one or two line changes. There's guides all over this site. Why dont you search and maybe figure it out yourself.

I don't see the toughness** you're referring to. Simply encouraging you to give something a try instead of waiting with an open mouth for the spoon to feed you.

I would be afraid to follow a guide that wasn't listed specifically for this phone. Your response is kind of uncalled for.
Edit: This works.. I just did it. It is from the Sprint Note 2 forum... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=34247225&postcount=14

seriously. please do us all a favor and get a different phone so we don't have to deal with you.
anyway. i wasn't really happy with the way this looked or worked so I went back. But if tweaked it could look / function better. It changed it so that if you hold the home button on screen and physical you get S-Voice. The on screen nav was really big also and the page indicators were covered by icons. It just looked and felt sloppy and there was no way to customize anything obviously.

Only thing I don't like is this kind of messes with the dialer DPI, and now the top of recent calls and favorites is being cut off by a big block of blue.
Edit: On Bean's new ROM, the top names are still covered, but the "blue" block is now transparent stuff just a blue border, so the names are now visible, but you can only touch the part of the name that sticks out from the bottom of the block. This is definitely more manageable though.
