Hello good people of XDA! I suppose I should preface this by saying that I am indeed a noob at this; however, I have programmed a remote control before so I should be good to go .
In any case I would like to activate an EVO 3d on the Page Plus service, which uses the Verizon network. I have heard people on this forum and youtube claim that they have activated the Evo 3d on page plus, but I have not seen any instructions on how to do it. Let me also say that I don't really care about getting data to work, text + talk would be all that I really would need.
From perusing the forums I have read how people have activated this phone on other networks and how they have activated the Evo 4g on Page Plus, and I believe that I have pieced together how to go about getting this phone to work on Page Plus. However, I wanted to double check if this would work before I go out and buy it.
From what I gather I would have to:
1. Get Page Plus to add the phone's ESN to the network and have them provide me the assigned phone number (MDN) and MIN.
2. Use CDMA Workshop to set the SPC to all 0's.
3. Use QPST to enter the MIN and phone number onto the phone and an page plus PRL.
Will that work or am I missing something, o just plain dreaming? Thank you in advance.

Okay
I bought the htc touch pro sprint version off a good deal. I used the elite team unlocker and I tossed the vzw leaked rom on the touch pro. Installation of the leaked rom went fairly well, and I thought I was ready to get this device connected via vzw network. I called vzw 3 times, went to 3 different stores, all have the same answer.
They cannot add the esn to their database. So my question is - what's the workaround regarding that policy? Do I have a very expensive alarm on my hands or is there something that can be done?
btw I haven't unlocked the msl code and I put the sprint rom (stock rom) back on the device to start fresh. Bear in mind I tried Getspc and I found that didn't work too well. I also tried QPST on vista and windows xp and the same popup on both machines came up (installing new drivers, please select driver location) to try and change the msl.
Any other thoughts or a good direction of where to go? I tried going to mobile files and I got an okay understanding of it, but an issue is well...I'm not sure of what to do.
I know there was a thread in the diamond forum to change the esn and I think that would be a good idea, what are your thoughts on it? Is it a good idea? Did I just open up pandora's box?
Try this
Go to forum.ppcgeeks.com
I believe I read something similar to this on that site. Don't know about the solution, but they are more advanced in dealing with the CDMA Pro, as they appear to have had it longer.
Sorry I couldnt help more. So Much for the Open Network Verizon promised.
Carriers sometimes are just a BIG Joke.
yeah I was reading two topics started by one guy...seems he went through the same drama that i went through
so I'm thinking from the discussion the only way would be to send the phone to verizon and I don't want to do that honestly
Dont
Don't Do it, and Verizon would rather you bu their own touch Pro when it gets released
Unless you can edit/spoof a Verizon ESN I don't think it's possible currently. If you do manage to find a way to do that, you need to be careful as it's probably illegal (as the ESN could belong to someone else -- and I'm sure there's laws in place to "protect you") -- Guessing at least, IANAL
Yes, technically it is illegal to change the ESN of a phone, however, I know that there was a way to change it (at least for the Mogul).
its been done

trying it now and so far my results are exactly as advertised huzzah!
So what's the verdict? Success or Fail?

its my understanding that at this time vzn has suspended adding ESN's to there DMD. check the PPCgeeks post above your post and check to make sure though.
Yeah, I see they have some Sprint Touch Pro's on e-bay and I was thinking about getting one for my verizon account because they are cheaper and also I heard they have more processor memory or something. So does that no longer work, or can someone point me to a thread on this?
if you go to PPC geeks you can fint the post in the TP section.
I have a sprint touch pro on vzw network working perfectly using the above method a wile back, however 2 days ago i lost internet, and decided to activate an old phone and reactivate the touch pro to reset the internet settings on verizons network, when reactivating the sprint touch pro i was told the esn was invalad du to the fact that it was not 911 compadable,.. wich we allknow it is, but i believe verizon has just set their network to generate that error when a sprint esn is trying to be added, as of right now there is a truble ticken in with verizons it department but, im not very hopefull, i think my next step would be to clone an esn of a verizon phone i am not using, can anyone help me with that?
if it was anything close to what I had to do to get it on alltel, if you can get them to add the esn you may have to manually program it then add a prl then try *228 it....you do best to call vzw CS and tell them its theirs if they ask...
Hey everyone i have searhed but couldnt find any referance to my problem so hear goes basically i wanted to get my titan to work on the pageplus network. I heard it was possible but since my phone is a sprint phone and pageplus works off of the verizon network is there any special action that needs to be taken or what??
This is the first time I've heard of Page Plus, but regardless of the carrier, you'd want to see if the carrier would be willing to add the ESN to their inventory. If they would, I imagine all you really need to do is get the proper PST settings and the correct PRL file and write the info to your phone.
http://www.pagepluscellular.com/ it has a nice 39.99 plan 1500 min and 1500 txt and i know they do allow other phones just settings are the problem.
Anyone know where i can find the PST settings for pageplus?
I havent activated a titan yet, getting ready too, on Page Plus. I think all you will need is to find the dcd verizon cab here and install it. Page Plus is a virtual operator of Verizon so that should get your settings right for data, i believe.
So I happen to see a very popular thread here in the EVO sub-forum which reveals that many EVO 4g users don't even have Sprint evdo coverage. I was a little surprised because this Sprint EVDO roaming question has been asked for years while it seems no one has posted the workaround.
Using the Alltel PRL may not be a good idea because it will always try Alltel/Verizon towers first even when you are in an area with good Sprint coverage. If you ask Sprint, they will sure tell you this is in violation of their terms of service and it is possible to get your account in trouble. And if this exploit gets abused by the public, dang, you can be sure Sprint will close the loophole and everyone's game is over.
I'd suggest to take caution and only do the roaming when it is necessary. The straight forward workaround would be doing the ##775# stuff and load a Verizon PRL when it is in need and load back the Sprint PRL other times.
This method sounds a little awkward as you have to load a different PRL each time you switch roaming. The following is an improved method for the tech savvies.
You will need to install QPST found here.
1. On your phone dial ##3424#
2. Connect your phone to the Windows PC. Install the modem driver attached.
3. Open QPST Configuration, add the com port your phone attached to.
4. Open QPST Service Programming. It will try to find your phone. Click OK to open your phone.
5. Click "Read from Phone". It will ask for SPC/MSL code. Get the code either by calling Sprint or google search "Touch Pro MSL".
6. Go to CDMA tab. Copy everything from NAM1 to NAM2 except the AOC.
7. Download Verizon PRL from here or any newer one.
8. Go to Roam tab, click NAM2, click browse, find the PRL/RLA you just downloaded.
9. Click "Write to Phone".
10. Install the attached unhide_nam2.cab. Restart your phone.
Now on your phone, Settings, Personal, Phone, Services, You will find an option "Switch NAM". Swtich to NAM2 when you need to EVDO roam onto Verizon, and switch back to Sprint when you done. The phone does not need to restart during the switch. You can even write a mortscript to automate the switching process.
Now Sprint online shows data roaming usage and "additional charge". Will this long time free gift going to be charged? Nobody knows what's going to happen next. As being said before, when it get abused, it gets closed. In such a short time. Some people just don't get it.
Several of my friends work for Sprint. They all say that Sprint usually throws on additional charges when you data roam over 300MB minimum. Usually, it's at 500MB.
dam this is pretty good! gonna give this a shot!
Work on EVO ?
Anyone know if this might work on an EVO 4G ?
my touch pro 2 has no option in qpst for NAM2...only NAM1
any ideas?
ok...so anyhow I managed to get all the NAM2 information written to the phone however whenever an internet connection is attempted from the verizon side, I get "unable to connect to #777"...
yup...you guessed it, figured that one out too after a bit. use a 4xxxx PRL.
Does anyone know if theirs a similar unhidenam2 .apk for Android phones. I'm trying to get something like this for my evo

Hello, I cant find NAM 2
Can someone help me?
I tried to post this question on what looks to be the official HTC evo 3d to page plus walk thru , but it said I did not have enough posts to reply so maby someone can move it over.
just to be clear it was http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1575749 that was what i followed.
Basically I went thru all the steps I found off this sites pageplus tutorial and used the basic pageplus.prl file and I can call / text / and use internet, but no matter if I have 1 or 4 bars I seem to be in a 15kb/sec download cap. I have read on other posts on here to do a ##3282# but when I type that in it does nothing. (some replays I have read indicate that it would be most likely that the proxy is already set to 0.0.0.0 and not to worry about that.
I don't live in a area where they have 3g and of course I'm not trying to get 4g, I just want decent evdo 1x speeds.
*Maby the better bet might to be get a verizon smart phone? but if at all possible I would like to get at least double the speed on this HTC for now.
I just do not know what would be the best alternative to try to swap out to get better speeds.
Below are my specs on my phone and I have a feeling that just a different prl file might be the answer, but I want to ask before I go possibly breaking something.
I used the pageplus.prl file that was off this website in a pageplus zip folder which had 2. (pageplus.prl and pageplus2.prl)
I did not try the pageplus2.prl because I do not want to go doing things without a good reason.
P.S. the reason I'm very cauccious about trying anything new is because when I did a *228 Verizon wrote over my prl files and when phone rebooted it said no service. So I do not want to do anything that would require me to do a *228 in the future.
My phone specs are.
HTC EVO 3d
nocturnal blackend
Android 2.3.4
HTC Sense Verison
3.0
Software Number
Nocturnal Version 0.0.3
I did do some leg work. I found a newer prl file named 00002.prl. I updated it to that and when phone turned back on it said 3g , so maby I do have 3g in my area, bad news is - no internet. So does anyone have a good link on how to alter settings to try to get internet working? I think this may be the key to getting faster internet!

OR is there something that i can modify to change the 1x speeds to be faster.
Ive read that on non verizon phones there some "keys" or strings that make verizon phones faster speeds than sprint?
any suggestions at all?
Nevermind. Its working now.
Is there something you did to get it working? I had no answers or I would have helped, but for future users, what you did would be helpful.
Read, Search, Read again, ... Then Ask with Tapatalk 2
I took it to friend and he's got the full version of cdma workshop on his laptop he bought it and took a course, and what it was , was there was no profile 2 for prl or it wasnt set correct. at all so he had to manually add that in he said. But Im still very unsure of the whole process, but I was hoping to do it myself but at least I knew someone local.
End result..?

So what speeds are you getting now? I used Cyberflash to save time.
Myself and many others are interested in unlocking the full potential of the HTC Rezound on AT&T and T-Mobile networks. The closest GSM counterpart to the Rezound is the GSM Evo 3D (same chipset and manufacturer) so I'm requesting someone post/upload their radio configuration. This will hopefully facilitate HSPA+ speeds on AT&T and T-Mobile (where the spectrum as been refarmed).
I'm really just relaying info from this thread, I cannot vouch for the safety of your phone when performing these steps (can someone else???).
1) Download and install HTC Sync, HTC Diag drivers and DFS CDMA Tool (free version).
2) Connect phone to PC and switch it to the DM mode (dial ##3424 then Send).
If ##3424 doesn't work, download "Hidden Menus" from the app store, launch it and select DMCmdBroadcastReceiver.
3) Connect DFS to the first HTC Diagnostic Interface port (not 9K)
4) At the Equipment page check if Extended Build ID / MSM rev is MSM8660. If it's different, you've selected a wrong port.
5) Click Send SPC button to send SPC 000000.
6) Go to NV page, click Read RF, let it finish, then click Save and share the resulting NVM file.
Based on what was said in the other thread, this file is safe to share as it contains only RF calibration data and no serial or phone numbers.
If anyone is concerned about the process (above) damaging their phone I will say that I completed these steps this morning on my own phone and the process seemed pretty benign. I imagine pressing the wrong buttons could screw things up, but as long as you only hit "read" I don't think there's any harm.
Hey Tastywheat, hopefully we can get something going. I just started a bounty in the Rezound General section to get 3G on T-Mobile's refarmed area. I tried an AT&T phone last night that was 850/1900 and actually got 3G confirming my area has truly been refarmed. I tried the Sensation NV posted but still had EDGE so it's defiantly gonna take a lot of work on our end as the refarm doesn't seem to enable 3G on the rezound automatically.
