I recently got a 10.1 Wi-Fi. It came with the TouchWiz update preinstalled. I rolled back to stock 3.1 to see what it was like and now am trying to go back to TouchWiz.
The tablet updates from stock 3.1 to the build number UEKG4 (an ~11MB update)
After this, the tablet says No Update Available when checking for updates. Plugged in USB using the Samsung Kies program, the tablet is recognized, but there is no firmware information listed.
Stock rom, stock recovery and cannot update any further? Anyone have ideas or somewhere they can point me to resolve this?

I believe you used the stock 3.1 ROM of a I/O tab. not the retail one.
I/O tabs have not received any TW update till now.
If you want to go back to touchwiz please flash the "ROM | 001002-P7510_KME_Restock.zip" from http://p7510.teamovercome.net/?page_id=20 using ODIN

i have a stock tab that i've had since a few days after they were released and dont have touchwiz and every time i look for an upgrade it says that nothing is available.... shouldnt there be one out? Am i doing something wrong? thanks for the help.

I had some fun messing with some other roms but would like to get it back to stock to get the official touchwiz update. I took all the steps here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1171089 to take it back to stock and i can only get the 11.22mb update that includes movies. I can't get the touchwiz update. I have the U.S. Retail Wifi 16GB grey model. Any help would be great. Sorry in advance if this is a redundant post but i could not come to a solution that worked for me from any of the other posts. Thanks

Im begining to think this may be a blessing in disguise lol. It seems that not many people like the touchwiz update so maybe i should be happy with my tab thinking it`s an i/o tab. Im guessing if we eventually get the 3.2 update, i should still be able to get it this way.

It's because, the only OTA version available is from the I/O tab. Therefore, whoever, initially rooted the retail version to installed the TW based roms in the dev section, and then went back to stock, they got the I/O tab version of 3.1, including myself. There are other people who are looking for the retail version of 3.1 in odin form. Anyway, I have backed up the rom in case there's an update for i/o tab. In the mean time I'm enjoying the deodex version of TW posted by doc.

I had this issue as well, fortunately I had made a backup of my system before doing anything with it, so I was able to restore to that and have the update become available.
That said - I'm running Doc's slim and it is leaps and bounds snappier than stock.

Once that came out, I tried to update it numerous times (im not sure whether the tablet was still rooted or not when I tried to update) and the update failed continuously... Anyhow, don't ask me why I did this but I erased my system in the bootloader!!! I didnt realise that it was literally the OS I was clearing.... Eventually I found a firmware file on the internet for it and flashed it... Previously my Tab was running the HMJ37 UEKMB firmware, now it is running the Europe HMJ37 XXKFC firmware which has touchwiz already...
Now what I want to know is, is this firmware genuine, and will I be able to recieve future updates on it such as ICS when they are released? If not is there any place where I can find the UEKMB firmware to flash to my Tab??

It doesn't matter if it's genuine, don't use stock firmwares anyways. Custom ROMS are better. Wait till someone on this forum develops a sick ICS ROM.

But my problem is that his "stock" file that I flashed is an I/O Stock rom, so it won't receive any official updates after the first 11mb update. (won't update to 3.2 Touchwiz)
I would like to give this tablet to a family member and I want them t receive official updates (Like ICS) in the future, so I basically need to get my Tablet back to the point where it can receive official updates.
I did a little more digging trying to find a stock rom and found this rom "hc-3.1_ota-full_sam_tab_10.1.zip(StockROM)", from this link --> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1171089 but it appears to be the same file for I/O as before.
I then found this link here, to a European Stock Touchwiz update rom, "http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1167250" But I'm afraid since its european, it is still not my original stock rom I had for my Tablet I bought in the USA.

i have the same problem... but i'm from Malaysia..
although from one of the guide, it says Asian Stock TW, after odin, my device doesnt seem to be recognised by KIES for any official update... also notice that the build number is different from actual Asian version (compared this with my friend's tab)
btw, from samfirmware, the zip file contain 3 files (data, csc and bootloader)..
i only flash the data and csc(as suggested in the guide)... do i need to flash the bootloader too? could that be the reason why i cant get KIES update?
btw, if your from the US, hav u tried the guide from "filesfordummies"?

Hi everybody,
I'm new to the forum and would appreciate any help anyone could possibly offer me. I recently bought my Galaxy 10.1 and have been using it fairly contently for the past number of weeks. However I was recently looking to install Allshare and found that it was only available on version 3.2. So I entered 'Settings ->About tablet -> Software update -> Update. While trying to find updates I get the message 'Connection failed'. There is no problem with my internet connection as I am constantly online carrying out all other regular operations. When I connect using KIES, it doesn't propose any update to me.
I am living in Luxembourg and am wondering if that could be a problem considering the region of my device is 'XX', which does not include Luxembourg. But I would have expected another message, such as 'No update available'.
Any ideas anyone? Whatever I do, nothing seems to help. I'm open do any other options for updating my tab.

Yes it seems you have a bad case of "wait for the manufacturer" problem. There is only one cure: get a custom rom. The trouble with the Tab 10.1, though is that there aren't any custom roms based on Honeycomb (3.x) (to my knowledge anyway) since the source was never released by Google. So your only hope is to jump straight up to a version of ICS (4.0), which are pretty early releases right now.
Having said that I have done it and pretty much everything works fine for me. Look in the Android development for KANG (make sure you get the right one, they are different for either the wifi or 3G one).
Other than that, have a howl at Samsung I guess.

Ooops, my bad. Sorry. I just read somewhere that Google never released the source to Honeycomb so I assumed that there was not going to be an AOSP. Yes I should have checked before opening my mouth on that.

And what if you download Samsung Kies on your PC and connect and update through it?
Samsung Kies is the official application by ... Samsung yeah (..) but it's not the world's most reliable application. Sometimes you might even have to install this more than once for it to recognize your Samsung device and update through it.
Maybe you already tried this, just ignore my comment then
I had something similar although my GT saw the update. After downloading it refused to install (update from approximately 13 MB). After reboot it ran the update to 13%, then rebooted and stated that it could not update. Same story when I tried to update through Kies. Trying to solve this one I flashed P7510XWKI2_P7510OXEKI1_SER through Odin on the tab and tried to update again. This time the update file was approximately 88 MB and got stuck after 9% and rebooted also telling me that it could not update. When trying to update through Kies it finally successfully updated. Maybe a bit much work (and tricky ) but it works.

My sister has an original galaxy tab 10.1. I noticed it is running Android version 3.1
The tablet was purchased in the US, though she's not currently in the United States. Not sure if that matters, but she's not received any OTA update.
This is a WIFI only tablet. How can I remotely upgrade it to ICS 4.0 or Jellybean. She doesn't want any customized ROM on it.
Firstly, where can I get stock ROM for ICS 4.0?
Secondly, if I remote into her PC, I am able to see the contents of her tablet, when it is connected to her laptop. Does that help?

The link above has all the stock roms but prerooted. I flashed the rogers one for my dad through CWM the other day worked very good.
You can flash CWM recovery through odin and then update it through ROM Manager app.(That is how I did it)

at the end, you will have a tab that look like stock but is rooted.
