I see the AT&T variant was released a short while ago, i know this may be way to soon but has anyone found a radio flashable on the euro model?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1286432
I just did mine, all seems well.
I'm interested in applying that radio to my UK SGSII also?

As you can see.. The top end dropped by about 2%.. But the latency dropped as well.. (tests prior to 10/3 are with Euro modem)
So, YMMV.. With that being said... For those of you running custom rom's that have CWM available.. Here's a little present..
Flashable zip of the i777 kh7 modem.. It backs up the /efs partition prior to flashing as well..
Just to be safe I'd recommend having a backup handy of whatever your current modem is.
EDIT: Forgot to say: I'm running on the old Captivate 3G data plan grandfathered unlimited data. I *Do* live in a H+ market though.. But I can't use the 'phone' apn because of the data plan I'm on. I'm going to try to get by att this week and see what I can work out.. I cant see buying the American SGSII.. Unless the data speeds are significantly faster and I wont know that until I get the data plan issue fixed.
EDIT2: Bah, I just tested a regular phone call which I didn't do last night..
The other party couldn't hear me, and said all they were getting was distorted audio.
Moral of the story.. Test more thoroughly next time.. I have flashed back to the KI3 modem and can make voice calls again...
Also removed the attachment.
Anything else to report? Still working well for those who have flashed it? Any difference from the int. GS II radios? Thanks!
Bump, original post edited. Modem works fine on data.. No voice calls however.

Have you found the KI3 to be the best radio for AT&T? I'm wavering between it and KH3.
Data seems to connect faster but data speeds seem the same. its nice that things begin to load quicer. there is no voice though.
I wonder if its possible to grt this radio to work on our phones?

Personally, I'm inclined to go with KI3. Could just be a placebo effect but the net lag seems less. As if it may help with latencys. Granted, it may be that the modems have zero to do with affecting latency but this is just the 'feeling' I get.
I agree, this AT&T modem seemed better on data for me, but since it has no voice its out of the question. The next runner up is ki3

So after rooting and messing around with different roms and such, I installed an app called network that has been mentioned on here, to see about switching to 3G easily while at work.
Well I started noticing that the phone couldn't keep a 4G signal at all anymore, but didn't put 2 and 2 together because of some of the other stuff I had done, mainly flashing through 3 different roms in 45 mins.
Well I unrooted my phone, and got it exchanged today because of some terrible back light bleeding, that thankfully my new phone doesn't have, and rerooted the phone, restored all my apps on Mik Rom, and BAM, 4G goes screwy out of nowhere. So I looked through everything and the only networking type app I had was Network. I uninstalled it, and now instead of 998 ping and .5 d/l speeds I am averaging somewhere near 14 down and 71 ping.
Only change was that app. Anyone else have this issue after installing that app? Or if you are having 4G issues, and have this app, UNINSTALL IT!
just thought I'd throw it out there, considering it was making me really mad.
Just tested it myself and it's all good here.

Did you make changes in the network app?
The app is designed to DISABLE 4g. So if you made changes then yeah you would lose 4g.
Im sure this isnt the case, but wanted to mention it just in case.
I use mine to disable 4g since im not in a 4g Area but it works fine this way. But then again my 4g cant go screwy because it doesn't exist.

Hmmm... I notice your speedtest app actually showing an accurate upload (compared to the double digits people used to post. Is this an updated version? Speedtest had acknowledged inaccurate reporting on the TB.
I removed the proxy on my evo a while ago mainly because it broke the streaming music. I also noticed a pretty nice speed increase on top of it fixing my streaming issue.
Streaming works just fine on the 3D and 3G speeds are so so not as good as my evo with proxy removed. This could just be the radio or dumb luck. Has anyone tried removing the proxy to see if it has increased speeds any? I'm thinking about trying it but figure I would ask if anyone has given it a whirl yet.
Update:
I decided to just give it a try, called sprint, got a super cool guy gave me the MSL no ?'s asked. Was on the phone no more than a min with him, I am gonna make sure to answer the survey questions for him. I love getting cool people. Anyway just removed the proxy and ran some speed tests, didn't really make much of a difference.
I'm getting between 400-800 down & 500 up average. Like I said similar results with & without the proxy at least for me. I'm just gonna leave it removed, I can't imagine having the proxy will ever help speeds in the future. It is the middle of the day so average speeds tend to be a little slower. I have pulled 1,500+ down on my evo in the same test area at times but that wasn't an average.
If anyone else wants to try I would be curious to see if it makes any difference or not since different areas can perform very differently.
Yes, confirmed faster. There's a thread about this in the development thread.
can HTC install a trackball on this thing?

oh ok. Didn't seem to have nearly the effect as it did on the evo but like I said I left it out. Plus I only did a few tests so I'm sure it will be better in the long run. A trackball would be kinda cool actually, I'm not sure where they would put it though.
Can someone post the original settings?

Oh man!
Another Telus rep has spoken!!!
VERY excited for this! Hoping holding out for the official release was worth it
:highfive:
Trust Telus to release the previous OS as the new one is coming out. Still very happy to get media control on my lock screen. :victory:
I just noticed this on the Telus software update page.... http://www.telusmobility.com/en/AB/Software-Updates/index.shtml
It must be imminent.
That would definitely be nice although I don't know that it'd be much better than just using a rom.

I've tried several roms, the most recent being King - Kang and all seem to crash my phone and have strange little bugs and issues that pop up.
King-Kang was crashing my phone 1 or 2 times a day where as I've never had a crash with stock gingerbread. I hope stock ICS can do the same with all the added ICS features.

I'm using it as well and it's working pretty well. I just want to have my S-Pen working though..
On a side note how are your data speeds on the current ROMs? Even with the official ICS out I still get horrible speeds(HSPA ~2Mbps, LTE ~5Mbps download but 14Mbps upload) when I am using stock based ROMs. Only when I am using AOKP/CM9 ROMs I get regular speeds (HSPA ~10Mbps, LTE 20-40Mbps)
Looking forward to this update!

Woke up to the update notification. Installed without a hitch. Lost my Home screen icons so i'll have to redo that but everything else seems good.
I had this Note rooted with King Kang and several other Roms and my counter was in the teens. I reverted back to stock without resetting the counter and just did an OTA update and had no problems.
Had to reload stock recovery and try again, first attempt failed as cwm choked
Where did you find the stock recovery image? I can't seem to find it on here anywhere. Thanks!

I have an AT&T Microcell at home, and it has worked with the factory AT&T ICS ROM. Since I rooted and installed SlimBean JB I see no Microcell in the menu bar and I get no beep telling me it connects to the Microcell. Does anyone know if this is a known issue? Do I need to futz with the APN entries? I find the ones appropriate to Canada if I Google it, but not much else. Apparently it is a fragile symbiosis between the Microcell and the phones.
I am currently running slim bean 2.6 which is JB, and I also use a micro cell at home. Have no connection issues. Here's my APN don't know if it will help...

Thanks, did you connect it under ICS and then flash to JB or did you connect it originally under JB? I will check the APN when I get home tonight.
Originally on my note it was ICS Goldie ROM I think. You can also try deregistering and re regeristing your number on The micro cell and or the micro cell itself

Check your APN name and entries for hidden spaces after words and values.
Ran out of time last night
I re-activated the Microcell and checked the APN for errors or stray spaces. Still no joy as far as I can tell.

Just wondering if anyone still has this phone? I let my wife by it without doing research...didn't have time....and so regret getting it. Canadian version only...no real activity rom wise...and even if they put official jb out....still wont be much dev activity. So still will be not many rom options.
That being said....simply to get her a phone with more options available(roms ) , since cm9 seems to be the only stable option on the i757m....I'm thinking of getting her a used s2....a t989 or i9100. I have a t989 and rom activity is great and ongoing! Does anyone know here in Canada....will either of these phones work on bell if they are unlocked? Or even the nexus....not the new n4...the older model. I've never unlocked a phone....so I'm kinda clueless about it.
Any input would be greatly appreciated.

If you read the general section, why not searching for a "should I get an SII" or "what s ii variant is better"?
Topic: I757m...anyone here?(echo ) <---- very specific topic you got there.

Oh, by the way, get her a I9100, well supported (ROMs & Q&A as it's massive worldive), International (so yes, will work with Bell) and because it's awesome
The topic heading was a stab at that phone! Almost like I feel I'm the only one in the world with it....and I'm not a dev ....so I'm boned! LOL
I know all s2's are great...but I was more wondering about the i9100 working on bell.
But actually ....I looked more into it....might go with last generation at&t nexus. They apparently will work with bell....and I do love my nexus 7!
