[Q] Google Maps 2 finger rotation - Motorola Droid X2

I couldn't find any threads specific to the Droid X2, so here goes:
Does two finger rotation on Google Maps 5.0+ work for anyone with an X2? I'm running the Atrix port, 2.3.4. Right now, compass mode does not work (north is always up in maps) and two finger rotation does not work. The map is stuck in north-is-up mode and will not change to direction-of-travel.
EDIT: I've tried double-tapping the My Location button, but it does not change to the compass rose after a tap, two taps, or ten taps.
EDIT 2: The compass works; both calibration and apps that use compass are functional, as well as the direction the triangle in Google Maps faces. The only thing missing is the ability to rotate the map.

Working fine here on Eclipse 0.8.1.

Slight problem with google satnav search

When I'm in portrait mode in the google navigation app, select 'type destination' and type a number, a road, a town, etc, the drop down list of places that normally appears which is linked to what I type, doesn't appear. And there's nothing to click on to begin the route calculation, so what I typed just sits there doing nothing. There's only a 'go' button in landscape mode.
But if I go to the google maps app and type a destination, the drop down box appears no problem. Then if I go back to the navigation app and start typing again, now the drop down box appears there too. Weird. I shouldn't have to go to maps app first then navigation app to get my search working in navigation, so can I fix it?
Anyone please?
I'm sure I've had that issue before and after entering a destination I had to tap the search symbol iirc. I dont have the issue now so I'm guessing it could be a mismatch of maps and nav versions or maybe something else but an update must've fixed it.
Are both maps and nav updated?
Edit: just realised nav is part of maps perhaps try reinstalling.

The search symbol disappears once I start typing. Well I found maps on google play. I then disabled maps on the phone which made navigation disappear from my apps drawer. I then installed maps from google play. This turns out to be a later version of maps and it's updated the navigation, because now there's a black UI to it which looks nicer than the white UI. In fact, the first time I ever installed ICS via my carrier's android 4.0.3 update, navigation had the black UI but after my first factory reset, navigation had gone back to the white UI.
But still the same issue is there. The search boxes in both maps and navigation are the same, so I don't get why the drop down box only works when first using maps before going to navigation. There's definitely something not right. I wish there was a way to completely uninstall maps and navigation and reinstall.
I've already factory reset this phone (with ICS) three times so I'm not sure if going through it all again will fix it. When I was on gingerbread this problem didn't occur. I like various features of ICS, but it's given me issues, not just the satnav, that I never had with gingerbread.
Don't know what may be causing the issue with your go button sorry. The search drop down doesn't work for me either as you described. If you open maps and then change it to navigation using the drop down on the top left the search works, I guess they're working towards having everything accessible from the maps app and the navigation shortcut will be removed.

That works great, thank you. I didn't notice the tab in maps that drops that box down. Search works perfectly from there when it takes me to navigation.
What I'm going to try and do now is replace the boring maps icon in my go launcher dock with the navigation blue arrow. I've got launcher pro still installed which has the blue arrow icon in the apps drawer. (In go launcher, it's changed and looks like the maps icon). If I use desk migrate app, can I import that blue arrow from the apps drawer to go launcher?
No problem, sorry I can't help with the desk migrate app but here's the nav icons from the app if it makes it any easier for you.

That's great, I can save those and use as a custom icon to replace mine. Thanks!

[Q] How to view Map in nav mode? GMaps version 7.0.1

I am amazed and disappointing that I even have to start a thread about this. That being said, 75% of my use of Maps Navigation is viewing the map in navigation mode. In the old version it was as simple as clicking the view map icon. I have tried searching and only found how to do offline maps. If anyone has some insight it would be appreciated.

Google Maps Problem

When typing a new location into the Google Maps search bar, the map no longer shifts (flies?) to the new location. It seems to zoom out and fly partially there before freezing with the new location not displayed. I must at this point pan the rest of the way myself and pinch to zoom in. This seemed to start with the second last Maps update. Anyone else?

Disregard. I figured out the problem. In Developer Settings I had Animations set to 2.0X. Reverting back to 1.0X fixed this.

Screen gestures stop working during Google Maps navigation

Has anyone else noticed this?
I use Google maps with my F1 and have found that during navigation screen gestures stop working after it's been running for a little while (seems to work initially, then just stops responding to gestures - maps continue to function fine). All that happens when you swipe from the side (to go back) or the bottom (to go to the recent apps or the home screen) is that the map moves about. It makes it really tricky to get out of the Map view (you have to pull down the top of the screen to access a notification or use the fingerprint button).
It's a bit of a nuisance.
Has anyone else seen this? Maybe you have a solution?
Yes, it happens to me as well, Actually, the screen will be locked and the google maps is displayed on top of the locked screen, so if you want to use the gesture navigation use your fingerprint scanner to unlock and the gesture navigation will start working. Just try and let me know if it works.
One more reason to use face unlock.
