I've been using this for a few months: http://www.amazon.com/Targus-CityGear-Motorola-Samsung-TSM148US/dp/B004H605OY
I usually have the transformer (sometimes docked), wii mote, hdmi cable, charger, cell phone charger, (micro) sd card, flash drives, and a zune hd.
If you live near a BestBuy you can check it out there.
i'm looking for bags that

donnie888: Thanks for the tip, looks really good!
I was using a messenger bag for a while and got tired of knocking around into people when I'm riding the DC metro to work. I switched to an old mono sling bag that fits my transformer ', umbrella, accessories, cigarettes, and other miscellaneous. Items

I originally got it for my 10" dell ultraportable but my girlfriend has since been using it for the TF+dock and she loves it. Its the predecessor to the ALPHA. They also make one for "ipad" that focuses on the tablet only.
Bag of Holding
I'm using my Bag of Holding from Thinkgeek (I can't post links yet, sorry).

I also have this bag. I like that there are separate padded slots for the dock and the tab if you don't want to keep them together, along with space and pockets for plenty of other accessories. As a Targus product, I expect it to last awhile, as well.

I bought this one: http://gimme.com.au/product/targus-10-dot-2-unofficial-netbook-case-brownlimited-lifetime-tss141us in a store local here in Toronto. It was thier last one and I cant seem to find it on Targus' website so maybe it is last years product.
Either way it is big enough to hold a few things that I carry around including the transformer, it is padded, and it is not too big as to detract from the fact that I bought a tablet.
And as my wife says "The colour even matches! "

+ another 1 for this bag. Plenty of room for accessories (stylus, charging cable & brick). Check around....I picked it up at Office Max on sale for $20.00.
I'm currently using the Vanguard Up-Rise 38. It holds everything for me. My transformer, dock, cables, laptop, anywhere MX mouse, laptop charger. Now when I'm just going around the city my laptop and laptop charger stays home and I can use the extra space to hold a drink, books, camera. Basically, I absolutely love it.

I'm also using this bag as well since I'm always out and about in Atlanta and use my tablet primarily for drawing (Sketchbook Pro) and reading comics! Great bag imo.
Update....just realized mine is slightly different than the previous one posted. The one I actually have is this one from Target for $29.99-

love my Targus
I ran across the Targus City Gear bag at Microcenter right after I got my TF. It's great. The padded compartments make me feel safe whether I'm docked or not, and there's lots of room for my portable hdd, mifi hotspot, adapters, and my other tech support tools.
I'm looking to get a bag for my TF. But I need it to be very very water resistant as I live in a place that sometimes gets flash rains. And I prefer sling bags or small bags because, as another poster said, messenger pags are always getting bumped into people and doors. Any suggestions are appeciated.
took a few pics of my swiss bag. Just enough room for an umbrella and TF. You cant really see it in the pics but the bottom kind of "pops out" or expands to allow more room also.
It has been through a few of our DC "random" rains and there was not a drop of water in the bag. Did a fantastic job.

I have seen a lot of discussion about docking stations and I was wondering how many of you X10 users want/need one. This is a rather neglected market from the manufacturers and it seems not many people use docking stations.
I for one cannot go without one anymore. I used to be sceptical, but the convenience of having your phone upright next to your PC (for example) dispalying all sorts of useful info and getting charged is a must. Especially if the station has a socket for a spare battery.
Thoughts?
I want one on my bed table as a charging station/ alarmclock
How many X10 user are there (25/03/10)?!
I would probably buy one, if it was cheap.
I looked at the HTC docking station which was around £20 and though nah.
A docking station is basically just a holder - like a slot in your table. Waste of money IMO, if you've already got a charger.
It's not a shaver or a toothbrush!
But the usb connector is on the top of the phone... so i think there will not be a docking station...

I don't mind connecting a top piece manually as long as there is a cradle for the phone in a standing position...
Or something like this? in landscape, so is can be a photoframe and clock in one(app). Calling by external speaker.

Id want a docking! I use them all the time. At the office Im only using bluetooth anyway, so Its nice just having the phone standing, so I can see whos calling.
Also great to see time, weather whatever just in front of you!
Im almost embaressed to admit it but I use a small piece of velcro on my phone and in several places it habituates, my desk, nightstand, car. Feels like slumming but remarkably functional and I actually went back to this from a docking station because I prefer it.
Both the Droid and Nexus One have pretty nice docking stations, lets hope Sony puts out something nice. As for the velco idea... interesting, but I would never do that to my desk or my phone.
Hardly notice the little bit of velcro that is on the phone and in the other places not at all. Its all about placement man, I would bet you wouldnt see any of them unless pointed out to you. Most folks are going to see this solution as getto, just pointing out an alternative that is surprisingly effective. Those looking for the gucci dock definetly wouldnt be happy.

Lol'd @ gucci dock .
It's a nice solution, especially for phones that don't have docking stations... or the ones available are ugly/unfunctional.
I wouldn't do it, becasuse I hate the idea, but still +1 for ingenuity.
hopefully one will be released soon! i wanna buy one! maybe a white station for a black x10??
i remember when all pda's and pdaphones used to come with a cradle lol. it is useful, and its a pity if you want one nowadays you have to buy them for ridiculous prices like 40 dollars or something.
i dont think the xperia has any other connectors other than the microUSB, unlike the nexus one which has those cleverly camoflaged contacts.
Well, there's somthin like this:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPII.dll?ViewItem&item=390163600318
Holder and USB hub, so could be connected with a cable to charge and sync.
This is more or less just a concept. but i think that it could work, and look nice aswell. And it should not be too hard to make one.
I am sorry if the 3D doesn't look that good, but I did just make it rather quickly.. so the textures looks kinda messed up etc.
17 minutes left until I can go to bed.. yey..
i was thinking last night, and just because the charger is on the top that doesn't mean a dock won't work. if there was a dock that the phone could sit sideways in, and an app that waited in the background and detected when the phone was docked (plugged into the usb port and landscape) it could display a landscape digital clock screen, with little icons for missed calls and texts etc...
once my dissertation is handed in in a few months i might have a go at developping my first android app!

Well I think that it could work out with the design I posted 1/2 posts before yours.
With the docking part at the top. where you can "drag" it up and down. press it down when you have placed your phone there.
that way your phone won't fall out for some reason atleast.
I don't really see why it would tho but..
here is an update I put into the first post for easier browsing.
It's pics of the case to show how the goad looks and fits in it.

Hey guys I just ordered this and will let you know how I go:
http://wap.ebay.co.uk/Pages/ViewIte...l?ViewItem&item=140460255965&autoredirect=off
It's a case for the Zt-180. I checked and the measurements of the Zt-180 and gtab are very similar. I am fairly sure it will fit and I can see in the pic that the corner loops look to be elastic as well.
It should effectively fit similar to that kindle one others have been buying but the corner loops will be more flexible hopefully meaning that there is no need to cut off one corner like the kindle one.
Hi BAM,
I'd love to know how did it go with your case . I've got the same idea but since you are ahead of me so can i get a bit of feedback please.cheers..
Is it this one?
eBay link: http://cgi.ebay.com/10-Leather-Case...ltDomain_0&hash=item483eb6c286#ht_1763wt_1139
$12.79 with free shipping.
Size: 10.6" x 7.09" x 0.59"
It has a stand built in as well. Since it's not that expensive, I went ahead and bought it, along with this bluetooth keyboard/touch pad combo:
http://cgi.ebay.com/New-Rii-Mini-Wi...ltDomain_0&hash=item4cf4a653c5#ht_6664wt_1200
$38 + $10sh, $48 total.
All in all, $60 spent. I also bought two docks from it2steve, I'm planning on setting up one dock on my nightstand, and then another dock in my living room for my tv. Then I could sit on the couch and type/control the tablet using the bluetooth device above. That's my logic at least, we'll see how it plays out.
I can see that set up you have working fine except the HDMI picture quality is lacking. Wish it output a better 1080p image to the screen via the dock. I also wish we can have profiles for the docked and undocked state. Let's say we have a way of automatically disabling the Wi-Fi, Adjust the brightness, enable blue tooth and enabling the HDMI all when in the docked state...now that would be great. But I still do like the dock.
All, remember that the quality of the 1080p playback will depend on the encoding used to create the video on the gTab to begin with. If i remember several posts by Robeet and others, high profile will not work on the Tegra2 CPUs, and we've already condensed the quality of the original to scale down to fit the 10" screen.
If you are expecting the lower quality to be upscaled, I think you'll be sorely disappointed.
I just received this case and so far it's not bad. I like that it hides the buttons on the right that I'm always pressing by accident and getting kicked out of whatever I'm in. The stand is not as sturdy as I'd like but it works. For the price, this is worth it for me.

Nah its not that case.
I am still waiting on delivery as I bought it through ebay uk and I live in australia. It takes ages for UK items to arrive.
The case I bought has corner loops just like the kindle dx case but from the picture i saw it looks like the corner loops are half elastic hopefully eliminating the issue that the dx owners have had.
The measurements however look almost spot on.
Will definitely update soon. I expect the case to arrive this week. Fingers crossed!
Should look like this:
http://www.digibite.co.uk/ebay_img/10_cases/lc_no2_5 (Small).jpg
BAM
It fits perfectly! Like a glove!
There's no cutting stretching or modifying required. As I suspected the loops are part leather part elastic so it hugs the corners with enough freedom to access everything. Power plug still accessible, USB and sdmicro ok, and nothing else is blocked.
The leather is firm but feels soft. There's a slide in tag rather than a button/buckle to keep it closed. It works well and means your not pressing against the screen.
I'll post up pics in a day or so as I'm cutting into drinking time now.
ZT-180 case
I have an ePad ZT-180 (which died). I think it is the same as the aPad. It came with a leatherette folding case that has a built-in keyboard. It is an exact fit. Not only that but the USB keyboard works with the G-tablet. One of the clamps interferes with access to the USB port but a few nibbles with nibbling tool made a notch big enough for the USB connector an still left it functional for holding the tablet in place. - Jim
does it work as a stand?
No it's just a folio type case not doubling as a stand.
And i've updated the first post with pics to show how it looks.
I've seen maxpedition fatboy or something a-like but they say that even a nook color would not fit the fatboy. Im looking for a everyday carry bag where i can easily pull up my tablet. Im using a backpack right now, but it seems like a messenger bag would be much better.
I've been looking for the same thing. Something that'll take the TF, dock, and a couple of thinner books.
This looks interesting, maybe?

Mobile Edge Netbook & Ultraportable Cases
You might take a look at some of the Mobile Edge netbook cases.
I can't post links yet, but you can easily find them on the Mobile Edge website. At the time of this posting, they could be found under the "Netbook & UltraPortable Cases" collection.
They are typically available on Amazon below the MSRP list price.
I am using the Allsop Ohmetric 10.2" Laptop sleeve. Neoprene construction.
http://www.canadacomputers.com/product_info.php?item_id=036969
It fits the TF with the dock perfectly, and I like that it has no zippers to scratch the TF. Even without the dock, the TF fits very well. There are no other pockets for the charger, but with the dock, youve got lots of battery life anyway. Its about being slim, and protected. I carry my TF all over with this sleeve. The lid has two padded things that fold into a wristwrest, so you could set the TF up on top of the sleeve and use the built in wrist rest while typing on the dock. Hey, its $15.00 and always in stock, how can you go wrong?
I'm using the Kensington slingbag currently, it fits the TF & dock nicely with room for accesories and my lunch

This is an indiana jones bag! i want! My friend will laugh at me for this because they will think it resembles the bag from the movie hangover.
This is the best bag:
I've got the Tom Bin Ristretto
I grabbed this sleeve for the Transformer + Dock.
HP Tablet Sleeve - Black with Red Trim - $9.88 with Prime Shipping
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0033RSNPG
Then got this to put it and other bits in. It's a great size, the sleeve above fits nicely in the back pocket leaving another front pocket and a small pouch on the front with some pen holders. If I was to criticise I'd say it could do with some zipper pockets and the strap could look a little sturdier. Still for $15 it's a great starter bag until you love it or fine something else.
Rothco Canvas Map Case Shoulder Bag - $14.85
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000BFJE38
I also bought this but it's way to big for my needs, something I'd use if traveling but not for day to day use.
M-51 Engineers Field Bag - Military Style - Black - $29.25
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000YV6Q58
That leather bag looks sweet though.
I just bought this one last night locally at CompUSA for $24.99.Fits the Transformer while docked with the keyboard pretty nice. It also allows me to drop in the Asus sleeve right next to it. It has storage pockets on the front of it that allows the charger and cable and other accessories. So far pretty happy with it.

Do you have the Ristretto for iPad/iPad 2 or the Ristretto 11" for Macbook Air?
Are you using it with the the Transformer tablet only or the dock as well?
How's the fit?

Use this as my everyday case. Love the fact it has 2 pouches (one for the keyboard and one for the TF). Sometimes I don't wanna use the keyboard and it's a pain to undock the TF to use it and then dock it back when I'm done to put it in a sleeve. Plus it holds my charger and cable. Each pouch is big enough to hold both the TF and dock together.

I've heard good things about the Tom Bihn products and it may be worth it to me if I plan on using the bag on a daily basis for several years and tablet purchases. I'm don't want to settle for a product I'm not 100% satisfied with that may not stand the test of time.
I bought a CaseCrown Messenger Bag for my TF...It fits the tablet alone fine, and also is a great fit with the keyboard attached...It's soft, but has great padding and a velcro clasp that holds the Eee Pad in it's own compartment in the bag......

Hands down this is one of the best bag if you plan on not having a bag that only carries the transformer and dock.

I just ordered mine should have it in a few days. I'll post a review up with pictures. I actually bought both the Up-rise 33 and the Up-rise 38. Not sure which I'll keep cause I would like to have a carry-all.
I've looking around online for a solution to mount my transformer on my dashboard for the longest time. Dissatisfied with overpriced plastic panels and metallic holders, I set off to find my own mount. I wanted something cheap because I couldnt justify spending 20 to 50 bucks on custom made holders that I probably wouldnt use again if I switched my car. Instead, I decided to order 3M velcro for 3 dollars. Here are the results:

I wont be able to mount it anywhere on the dashboard, as I need nice flat surface for it to stick properly. Im also aware that the transformer has a glossy screen which shows glare under the sun, but if you turn your brightness up, its really easy to see the navigation. In addition, its also great for whoevers sitting in the passenger seat.
Its definitely not the prettiest set up, but it is the cheapest.

+1 for ingenuity
lol i had an idea similar to this but after telling my girlfriend about the idea she smacked me on the head and called me nuts...
or maybe its the mad scientist laugh i gave out that made her do that "/
cant say i didnt have the thought, but i doubt i could ever do that to my tablet
great idea, I'll test it on my Duster car

velcro on the tablet kills it for me...
...why don't they have those generic silicone skins for this thing?!
this is a great idea and all but...
as about said... velcro... not something i would want to put on my tablet nor my car
Awesome idea i was thinking of something similar using 3M picture frame holders the ones that you stick on then they are supposed to come off with no residue etc never got round to it ended up getting a thingy for the phone for maps and a bag that has a special poket for the tf with lots of padding

Should have said "you hold it then" and saved $3 (the tablet that is).

So I'm going to use velcro (4 inch by 2 inch strip) instead of the stuff in OP. Should I put the fuzzy side or the scratchy side on the TF? Also this is actual Velcro brand velcro, so the scratchy side is 1mm deep and the puffy side is 4mm deep.

How about just sticking the velcro to a generic Transformer case that's easy to slide in and slide out. That way you can just leave the case there, and take the transformer out whenever you leave your car.
HA! Love it.
That stuff is called Dual Lock by 3M. It's not Velcro or traditional hook and loop. It uses tiny mushroom heads that interlock together creating an amazing bond. They make it with several fasteners per inch variants. 160 250 and 400. And the adhesive back comes in standard and VHB ( very high bond) The 400 versions is almost like glue, in some applications you can't get it to come apart. I love this stuff, I build specialized helmet camera mounts and use the Dual Lock for helmet mounting. Sky divers use my mount with that stuff and it does not come off at terminal velocity.
From the photo it looks like the OP is using standard adhesive 150 or 250, if you used VHB and 400 you could make small 1X1 patches to mount it.
Search for Dual Lock on Ebay.
Curious about my mount?

nice is cheap and good
has anyone tried this.
http://www.tetrax.com/us/
I have one for my iPhone and it is great. It is magnetic. Just a small round disc on the back of my phone and one on the dash.
The TF is much bigger but maybe two of these would hold it.
I dunno if the Tetrax will withstand the TF weight and size. Personally I doubt it, but I may be wrong!
Plus it's quite expensive!
I bought the same type of velcro, but black! Black Shtuff (2 feet X 1 inch) $1.79 (Int. shipping included)

MrNago is right - a single mount won't hold the TF. When I tried it, the weight of the tablet pulled the magnetic claw arm off the magnetic mount on my dashboard (no damage, it just separated the mount arm from the magnet attached to the dash). I don't have dashboard space anywhere in my car (that would be practical to view the TF, anyway) to use 2 mounts, so this is a wash.
Hey all,
I'm right on the trigger to finally get a Prime (sadly I can't find a dock anywhere, but one step at a time).
Anyway, I've been thinking that I'd like to get a sleeve for protection and easy transport, but that I won't always be using the dock. Connecting them is one option, but just to put it away and pull it out again when I'm not using the dock seems like too much of a pain (and unnecessary wear and tear).
So I was hoping that someone would have made a neoprene type case/sleeve/pouch by now that has a padded liner in it effectively creating 2 separate compartments. W/out this, you can't really throw both pieces in while they are disconnected I suspect w/out the chance for some scratching.
Has anyone else thought of this and found a solution???
Thanks.
OK, a little more hunting has uncovered what may be a good solution to what I'm after, but the pictures don't prove it. The description sounds just right:
-Semi-rigid, molded EVA shell designed to fit your iPad, iPad 2 , or 9-10 inch tablet
-The tablet compartments molded ribbing detail provides additional shock-absorbing protection
-Interior divider with its own securing strap separates the tablet from other accessories and keeps it in place
-Soft lining on interior divider helps to prevent scratches to your screen
-Interior storage for power cords, a wallet or phone

Wanted to share in case anyone is also looking, has their own suggestions, or feedback on this case...
Thanks.
I bought the Targus CitiGear Mini from BestBuy a week ago and really like it.
http://www.walmart.com/ip/Targus-CityGear-Mini-for-iPad-Tablet-Netbook/16480776
(BestBuy was selling it for 35$ and after I bought it I happened to see it on the shelf at Walmart (a mere block from the BestBuy mind you) a couple of days later for 25$, so I took it back to BestBuy and had them price match it)
It has the 'dual' pockets like you mentioned where you can put the dock in one side and the tablet in the other side. One slot is larger than the other, so you could also put the dock/keyboard in that slot if they are connected. The smaller slot where the actual tablet goes is pretty much the perfect size for the Prime as it barely fits. This is probably a good thing though b/c the tablet can't slide around what-so-ever while it is in there, so you shouldn't have to worry about it getting any scratches. The entire inside of the thing is the soft padded lining so you shouldn't get any scratches regardless, but I find it nice that the tablet is secure and can't move around in the first place. It also has an expandable pocket on the front where you can put your power cord, adapters and what not.
The CityGear looks like it might be a little bigger than the CaseLogic one that you mentioned but I couldn't be happier with the Targus carrying case. I think the CityGear might be easier to get into as you don't have to unzip it like the CaseLogic one. You simply unclip the buckle, flip open the cover and pull out the tablet. I have a case for my old laptop that you have to 'unzip' to open it, and it is a little bit of an inconvenience.

Thanks, I'll have to look into that one!
For anyone else looking, after reading some of the reviews to the link I posted earlier, I kind of got the impression that one of the "dual compartments" may be much smaller, intended for adapters and plugs... Just a hunch, but I wouldn't order it w/out someone explicitly saying it would fit at this point...
I have that one too. Works very well. It is my new carry-on bag. Much smaller/lighter than backpack with laptop and accessories.

I bought this from casecrown, it's awesome, and has loads of room for other bits and pieces.

I bought this case from Futureshop and it fits well.

It has 2 compartments and the larger one is divided in half where the back half fits the prime alone quite well. The front half would fit the prime attached to the dock or the dock separately. The smaller compartment has a mini pocket in it to hold an iPod or phone sized device with a space for headphones to travel up the strap and exit near your shoulder.
The only thing I didn't like (it isn't specific to this case) is that the USB charger wall wart has no place to go that is not a danger to the screen if the bag gets squished.
