No problem here. Something is messed up on your device.
Worked for me

If you cant get them to work, a factory reset should do it or if u are rooted, wipe all and reinstall rom
If you're running a custom ROM, it's possible that there's info in 'build.prop' that the Market reads and could flag apps as incompatible. What are you running ?
FWIW, I didn't check Adobe Flash 11. When did that get released, a day ago ? Two days ago ? Haven't heard there's been an update.... I'll go out on a limb and say that one won't across too many sites that are "Flash 11 only" yet either !! I think you can hold off for a short bit to get that one sorted out !
As for the others, the Market says they're "compatible with all of your devices". I have TBolts and Eris linked to my account, so yes, they'll even run on my old Eris.

Not sure but on mine the Market auto updated Adobe Flash to 11 last night.
Sent from my brain.
Adobe Flash only shows up in the Market if I look for it. It doesn't appear under My Apps. When I do find it, it has the "update" tag on it though. I don't know if it will eventually auto-update or not since it's a baked-in app. Maps does though...

Once you update it, it will be linked to the market then since you will no longer be using the /system/app version (you'll be using the /data/app version market installed). So from then on it will be listed in your market when an update is available. As far as making that "automatic", you'd have to check that box in the market for that app.
As someone said, it could be something in your build.prop such as your model name, lcd density, or fingerprint.

My apologies. I believe I did use the market to install Flash 10.3 and choosing to auto update. I am using Market version 3.1.6 btw
And I assume that Google pushes updates to their apps which is why Gmail and Maps constantly update without user interaction.
Sent from my brain.
I think with Google's apps, they took it upon themselves to default the "update" flag to 'yes'

I was just talking to a guy about this. Did you by chance change your screen density? The stock density on the Tbolt is 240. Or if you are using a custom rom maybe the density has been changed?
You can use Root Explorer and go to system/build.prop. long press and chose to view it as a text file and check the density is 240.

I purchased a unlocked Hero which appears to come from Asia somewhere as the text input says Singapore, Thailand, etc. Anyway, the firmware on the handset is 2.73.707.9 is this the latest one? I know there was an update a few weeks back but it says I cannot download firmware from HTC Europe and HTC Asia doesn't have any firmware downloads. Also does HTC Sync work with Windows 7? And lastly, my girlfriend has a g1 and has Pandora in the market but I don't?? Thanks.
Yes that's the latest ROM. 2.73 is the rom number, I believe (but I'm open to correction) that the next 3 digits signify the region the rom has been released to.
With Pandora, I read somewhere that this has something to do with the Hero's "official" status in the US. Pandora is only available for "released" devices in the US and the Hero isn't yet fully releasesed. It should show up at some point though, just a question of patience.

Try using Market Enabler to see if this helps.
Regards,
Dave
Market Enabler didn't seem to do anything...also don't have ebuddy in market
With Market enabler you have to first end the market task, clear the cache and then apply the market enabler. Try this hope it works.
hmmm dont see your problem my htc hero first day downloaded pandora works great too
download Pandora to your GF's G1 and then use back up for root and copy the APK to your Hero
Just realized I need root for market enabler to work and the current rom that came preinstalled cannot yet be rooted =\

Sprint Hero?
Is it just me or does the new Android Market suck. Don't mind the addition of content but the thing is just slow now. Once it loads, trying to go to my apps or other screens brings up the "Loading..." prompt and it seems to sit there forever. Never had this problem on the old one.
Plus, sometimes it will tell me apps need to be updated, I will go click on them, and no update button. Just "Open" and "Uninstall"?? It does it opposite too. Some apps will have an update but it won't tell me. If I go look at the app it won't show that an update is available until I click on it. Then sometimes I have to update the thing twice just to get it to take.
Granted this could be an issue with Juggs update.zip file, Titanium, or something else but I'll put my money on the Market app.
I'm runninga completely stock MoPho and I get the same market "false" updates. I think the MoPho market needs a serious update. I'm almost to the point where I'll only use appbrain. Hopefully this is on their long list of things to fix!
I experience the same issues, it's the app.
Yes
..i downloaded market older version but it always update back to the current version.....suks

The same thing happens on all android phones, not just the photon.
Just go into settings and manage apps and uninstall the update. If your rooted you can delete the market updater.apk

The answer most likely is that the Samsung Galaxy i777 is so new right now
that when developers create the code to their apps most likely are required to
enter or add into their app coding and or database the exact phone names
and models to which they are compatible with before the market allows the
people to download it...........
Just a way to keep the market safer and from getting thousands of complaints
damm , and I wanted to try that wifikill app. Hopefully the creator has a direct link in his thread on xda.
Someone said in that app thread that its because I may have changed my dpi settings, and I did in the build.prop file but I changed it back and I'm still getting the error so I think Misterjunky is correct.

What would the pixel density have to do with any of that? That absolutely is not true as I have the ATT version of the phone and my room mate has the Epic 4G Touch version of this phone. Both are rooted and his is still stock ROM mine is listed below in my signature. My Pix density is 200 and his is stock 240. Both of our markets show as having not compatible apps for our phones such as Adobe Flash and Netflix...Yet We both have the apps on our phones just older versions. When you search them out they are there and claim to have updates but will not let you install. I flashed the UnNamed 1.0.3 ROM to my phone just a few days ago I did a wipe and reset of the phone, after rebooting and customizing (including changing the build.prop file for density) for a short period of time I was able to search out and update Adobe Flash to version 11 and the latest version of Netflix. I go back after a few hours and restoring from TIBU and noticed one of my apps "Make your clock" was the old version I had in my backups that I must have restored over the newer version downloaded earlier in the day from the market updates. I went to update the app and I was not able to do it, now it is not compatible with my phone. I thought at first it was just paid type apps that were doing this and then I investigated and noticed the Flash and Netflix apps were in the list. That threw out any type of security issues that may be trying to be implemented on paid apps now. But is may be something to do with files or sizes related to TIBU and restoring files from backups.
I can confirm that some of the apps in the market will show as incompatible when you change your LCD density. This may not be the only reason, but I have seen this behavior on the Facebook, Skype and YouTube apps.
I just set my density back to 240, restarted, downloaded/updated, then changed back. It's sort of irritating, but until there's a way to override the compatibility check, i think we just live with this work around.

Well I just did the same exact thing you just described and can reconfirm it is still not working with apps installed on my phone. But have not ran into any issue with installing any new appsnot previously installed or restored. Have you or do you use TIBU to backup or restore apps or are you straight stock loading apps from the market directly?

Yeah, like I said. There might be more than one problem. This is just the one that worked for me.
Before I figured it out, I had been restoring (old versions) apps using Titanium without any issue. It's a shame that the market compatibility detection is not quite accurate and there's no way to tell the Market "no really, my phone is compatible."
I have the apk for the 3.4.4 market. I froze the market updater but when I install the Market apk within 5 minutes it updates to play. Is there a way to prevent the upgrade?
What's the big deal with preventing the update? Looks like exactly the same market with a name change to me. Just wondering what I'm missing and in no way trying to be a jerk.
Sent from my ADR6400L using xda premium
You dont want to stop the update because if you do, you will not be able to get apps or update current apps with the old market.
Anything else that relies on the newer market will fail as well. I doubt you could stop it anyway..
Install an older version of the Market and use Titanium Backup to freeze the Market Updater...but there's no good reason to not update.
The new market is great! LOL, it is pretty much the same. The only difference if you have a tablet and that allowed you to purches music through the app. Again looks pretty much the same. New name

personally the name change is annoying as all hell, google quit trying to program your brand name in my brain, when i want to buy and app or something i want to go to the market or to the store, not go to the google and pick up a new app.
every-time i'm in a rush trying to pull something from the app market i can't find the bloody icon because i'm looking for the market or in the old location on my app drawer, minor change i know but i have caught myself cussing at google when i needed to re-d/l my gps app after it crashed during a trip i as on a few days ago.
any chance of renaming the new app back to market without root?
Just use a launcher and if already do, just change the name duh..lol that's what I did ....

I also would like to learn how to get around using Play. The new terms seem to allow Google to read my sms messages and record the message routing. I don't think my correspondents would appreciate having their thoughts being part of Google's repertoire.

The only way to get around using Google Play is to not use android. What you're asking is the equivalent of saying you want to use an iDevice without the app store.

Memory needs > any update
I have a very good reason for not wanting auto-upgrades. Radio Shack misled me about the HTC Wildfire S and now I've got jack for memory. I have four apps installed, use only the native message app, and I'm lucky to have 25mb free. Anything less than that and the phone works as well as the Pony Express does today.
FWIW, Tandybot told me I could always install apps on the SD card. In theory, yes, but so few app devs code apps to work in that manner. Lesson learned.
kite edit: SNIP! No need for that kind of attitude around here, I'm afraid.

good reason
freedom don't work on updated market
I have searched and tried several things but I can not seem to fix a Google play issue I am having. After I updated to the Global Update 4.03.605.2 710RD, I have not been able to download certain apps from the Play Store. I get a message saying "This device is not compatible with this version". And these are simple apps like Dunkin Donuts and Starbucks (I like coffee... a lot). Here is what I have tried so far but to no avail:
1) Using Root Explorer, I edited the Build.prop file to change the resolution from 320 (which is a normal resolution but I gave it a shot anyway) to 240. Cleared out the PLay Store cache and restarted the phone. No luck.
2) Edited the build.prop file again to change the phone to a Nexus S and the manufacturer to Samsung. Cleared cache and rebooted. No luck.
3) Used Market Helper and tried several different options. No luck.
4) Used RootCloak. No luck.
Attached are screenshots of the specs for my phone, including the build.prop. Any suggestions?
Are you using a stock ROM with only root added? The official Global update is 4.05 (it's an OTA patch, not a full system update), maybe try to apply it and then try to check the Play Store again?
Try changing the dpi back to 320. Changing the dpi often "breaks" compatibility.
Are you S-OFF? I would follow the full downgrade/upgrade guide in this section and get it to an official version (4.5.605.14) or at least reflash the full RUU of the version you have... Once you get it up and running and signed into Google Play, give it some time for all the services to update (Play Store updates automatically after first opening/closing) and load something that forces Play Services to update like Hangouts. Then do a full update of all embedded apps and give it 10-15 minutes after that for all the Google services to update, restart and try download the Starbucks app (ONLY, no other apps).

I have tried to fully downgrade and return to the fully updated stock. I am currently unlock with s-off. I still cannot download certain apps I had before, i.e Dunkin Donuts, Starbucks, Google Search. These apps are all compatible with my HTC Incredible. I can't figure out why my phone is all of a sudden not compatible. Does it matter that I'm unlocked?

No, it does not. Neither Google Play or the app knows your unlocked or S-Off.
So you are saying that completely stock, no custom ROM, changes to build.prop, or root, and these apps are still listed as incompatible?

Everything is stock except for the recovery. I am rooted. I followed the Downgrade and fully updated stock thread and used RUUs. I have been able to sideload the Dunkin Donuts app by downloading it from APK Downloader and it runs fine. For some reason I can't get the Starbucks app that way.

Really not sure what to say, recovery would not be relevant (although on a different note, TWRP is recommended over CWM)... Compatibility typically looks at setting from build.prop to verify model and relevant data like PPI and size of screen, and Play knows your OS version already.
Unfortunately I no longer own a Rezound so I can't confirm any of these issues.

Starbucks, at least, requires 4.1 or higher. That is stated in the description. This may be the limitation on the other app as well. Be sure to check that next time both were updated recently and probably had a feature added not compatible with 4.0 and lower.

I think your missing the point... If it requires Android 4.1 or higher, they are using certain APIs or something else in the OS that didn't exist in previous versions, there is a reason its marked as incompatible. You are better off to look at one of the APK repository sites and grab an old version of the app.
Don't mess in build.prop unless you really know what you are doing.

Your best bet would be to flash a JB rom. Most of the 4.1 and 4.2 ones work fine with no issues on this phone.
