Is there a way to create a barcode that has my contact information embedded in it? Kind of like the BBM barcode?
I want to just create a barcode so people can just scan my info into their phones since almost everyone now has either android or blackberry phones.
thanks
it seems great, but i have no idea

about barcode generation
I suggest you to make your own barcode first, you may download a barcode generator first to have a try. The one I have been using is Data Matrix Barcode Generator for .NET, quite easy !Hope I helped
Download the Barcode Scanner app, go into an individual contact, MENU > Share > Share via barcode.
The more details per contact, Tue more complex the QR code.

Of cause, one way to do this is to generate your barcode with a specific barcode generator, I only use a stable online barcode generator on rasteredge.com.

Hey,
I found a software for everyone who daily forget their private information , like mail account passwords or paypal information. The software is called PIN Manager and is developed and distributed by valuephone! This is the link to their website: www.valuephone.com. If anyone wants to use this software, he must create an account at the website. So you can sync and edit your stored data in the portal. That’s extremely easy and no strange typing on a touchscreen to enter information. The data itself is secured with an own pin, so no one else can use the program.

The plus is it seems to be free, the negative is that you are entrusting all your sensitive data to a third party.
I am currently using SplashID. Whilst it is not free it keeps my data under my control and allows me to edit it all on the PC and then just synch to my Xperia.
You can also use Keypass, which is free and allows you to encrypt all your passwords, usernames, pins, etc using one masterpassword and/or keyfile(s).

Looking for an app where i can create information on people i play against at poker. I want to be able to profile each player and have custom fields to which i can make a custom dropdown or have a text box. For example, want different fields for name, loose/tight, preflop, notes, etc etc. The only poker tracking app I ser that is close is poker agent, and in that most of the profile fields are for physical features. I cannot find a contact app that allows for custom named fields. Any help is appriciated.

I just spent 40 minutes looking for a way I could attach a personality profile, or a SWOT analysis to my contacts... No go. It would be great if I could call up a local mindmap (using mindjet or my Titanium-saved version of Thinking Space Pro) or file link that could open when they call, or open from the google contact..... I would pay money for it.
My memory could always use prompting
My question does not pertain android hacking, but I considered it to fit under "Android General" because it involves a file which I believe would likely work exclusively on android.
I have created a QR Code that automatically adds my contact info into someones phone when it is scanned. I plan to use this QR code in my email signature. So it would work well when someone is on a desktop/laptop reading my emails. They would pull out their phone and scan away. However, if they are using the device they scan with, it wouldn't work. So my question would be, is there a way to have that QR code go to a web link when clicked which would download some sort of android auto add contact file? If so, could someone elaborate on how this would be set up and what exactly that file would be refereed to as. Thanks for any help.
I am in the planning stages of creating a social experiment. I am trying to see if it is feasible to develop an app for android to accompany participants using the parameters below. Nothing is set in stone. More could be added as options become available. If you care to know more, just ask. If you can help, that would be a plus.
Android app parameters:
Google Maps Api for proximity alerts to allow a participants to know when a clue is near and for an on-screen visual aid.
Ability to communicate with other app holders whether through text or speech
Integration with G+ - to publicly post what they have found
Ability to track other players real time (ability to disable public player tracking.)
Ability to create a profile to be shared via NFC
Minimize the need for a server to cache information
Minimize graphics
Utilize NFC to collect necessary information at physical locations.
The ability to edit data on a bracelet with an NFC chip embedded within.
The ability to track actions and locations(only when at game designated public locations)
Not sure if I want to embed information in the app or retrieve it on a server. (Information will change on a regular basis.)
Bump. I'm just looking for any kind of feedback on direction
