Use Album Art Grabber from the Android Market. It's £1.19 which is less than $2. It will get all the relevant Album art from the internet.
thanks for that but i have now found a media player that plays all media and gets covers when you play them song and saves it to display its on the market it is mixzing

Hi does anybody know how to control what art the HTC Music player uses?
The problem I'm having is that ive tagged each individual mp3 in a album with its own artwork for that single, I did this obviously so that when you choose a single to play it shows the cover of the actual track you are listening to but I cant get it to show the actual albums artwork via cover flow.
What happens is that it uses the 1st tracks art work for album instead of using for example a cover.jpg/folder.jpg/htcxxxx.vin etc
Also how do I go about installing this "gracenote" as the cooked rom im using doesnt seem to have the "Update Album Art" option??
I don't like how the album art from my music mp3 shows up in Gallery. I get like 50 different folders in Gallery each containing a thumbnail.
All I want to do is to easily find my Camera pictures!
How do i stop images being automatically added to Gallery and how can I delete them from Gallery without actualling deleting them from memory?
You need to add a .nomedia file to the folder the album art is in, although if the mp3s are in the same folder than they too might not be picked up by the default music player
I recently got my first android phone Samsung Galaxy Note
And played around with the stock music player frustated me because it did not display multiple cover art in one album
I am a bit old-fashioned in that i dont like playlist since it take time to first move a single song to device then add it to a playlist and then search and remove all the singles song that was in playlist later when i not use
So instead I love to create a folder on My pc put all the songs of the week inside it then fire up my favorite ID3 program and tag and number each song in the order i want with each song having the original single cover art
then call the album for my cool music and album for updated on + date..example
I been used to this method for years and learned how to do this quickly so for me this is quicker than transfer single songs and playlist them
I dont want to leave this metod ever
Had not had any problem on phones or mp3 player before with this
but now on Android mobile the stock mp3 player wont show multiple cover art in my compilation album
instead it pick the first cover art that is tagged inside the multiple coverart album
and use that
While that is useful for most of the albums i have is certainly not for compilation album i created with multiple cover art inside the same album
So at first i was frustated not to find only the Stock mp3 player does this
but many other mp3 player apps does the same (pro player and cube player included)
I have tested about 10 music players and the only 2 that work with multiple cover art is TTpod and Poweramp
But none of them are totaly perfect
TTPOD
good: Huge album art, skinnable, many other options
Bad: not many skins for the android version, no Swipe for change cover
have to shake it or click some tiny buttons
Poweramp
Good: Good design , many options, swipe to change cover
Bad: No shake function to change songs
acidently clicking the album art twice overides multiple cover art with one cover art for all song inside that album, album art not as big as TTPOD
While i am sticking at the moment with Poweramp because of the swipe
I have been digging a bit why multiple album art is omitted by my phone
I am not sure if this is a Android or 3rd party app issue
but when testing poweramp i found this.....
When tapping the album art in poweramp bring up a selection screen one is to change album art for the one on your ID3 tag....
if that is pressed all multiple album arts are overidden to just one and same album art inside that album....
However i found that the Id3 tags in the files realy has not been erased moving the files back from phone to pc showed this...but somehow many Mp3 applications on Android phones pick one of the album art in that album and hide the rest like saying....You only allowed to use one album art for each album....
But theres more once the album art in poweramp has been tapped and selected to change ID3 tag that way... there is no way back......
It is so memory resistant that even uninstalling Poweramp, cleaning program catche etc.... wont fix it...
only fix is delete that album folder that was tampered with and move over a new one with the same files but..... not even that work because something is saved so deep in memory so once the same files are moved over to android phone again
Phone says "Hey....thats the same files again....i already told you what cover art i want you to use and no more than one cover art for that album.....
Fortunaly this can be fixed by go to PC and Re-ID3 tags the Album tittle
as long as it not completely the same just a character more or less.
and what i mean is not changing each song for that compilation album with a different album tittle....cause then it would be no compilation album but....
changing all the names at once inside that album by one or two character so phone deep memory not discover it....
Moving the newly tagged files over to the android phone and Voila it works...multiple cover art again.....
What is realy weird is that If you need to re-tag the album again
you need to keep comming up with new album names changes
cause the phone memory go so deep it remember forever the album tittle
So guys can you recomend any other musc player that suport Multiple cover art inside same album
And why does stock mp3 player and many other 3rd party apps not suport multiple cover art in same album....
i mean not everyone want to use playlist...but instead tag our own compilation album the old fashioned way much better in my opinion

I would forget about the tagging and create sub-folders for the tracks using an AlbumArt.jpg in each folder. Can't make creating your compilation that much more difficult, and you can simply queue the whole folder in Poweramp which will queue each sub-folder in the order you place them in (just name your subs numerically).

You are not paying attention to what I said, make your compilation like this:
COMPILATION FOLDER\
COMPILATION FOLDER\TRACK01
COMPILATION FOLDER\TRACK01\Music.mp3
COMPILATION FOLDER\TRACK01\AlbumArt.jpg
COMPILATION FOLDER\TRACK02
COMPILATION FOLDER\TRACK02\Music.mp3
COMPILATION FOLDER\TRACK02\AlbumArt.jpg
etc. etc.
then you can put one track and one AlbumArt.jpg into your TRACKXX subfolders. Just try it, if it doesn't work how you want it to work I will provide a 100% refund.
Hi guys,
I am having almost exactly the same problem as Coolvibes. The problem is device agnostic and player agnostic, it only displays one artwork for all "loose" tracks not grouped into albums.
My directory structure is like this:
.../music
[loose tracks 1]
[loose tracks 2]
[album 1]
[album 2]
etc.
Basically, all the albums where the is only one artwork per album displays properly, and all the loose tracks display only 1 artwork (which is wrong for every track except that one). This is problematic if you want to manage your own music and directory structure is important.
I have organized everything via various tag editors and downloaded artwork via Windows Media Player. All files display properly in WMP.
So I guess my question is, is there any other way to correctly display album art on Android devices without having to dispense with your directory structure?
Thanks.
The android.provider.MediaStore.Audio class is really screwed up on Android. It doesn't allow to define different covers for audio in the same Album.
PlayerPro was able to use ID3 Cover-Art instead of the MediaStore cover art, but this doesn't work since a few versions.
Same goes for most players, as they always use the MediaStore Class on Android to get the cover.
Are there any developers who weren't lazy and used their own implementation for Tag reading on Android?
To work around it, you can tag the Album-Artist tag on all files with the same Album tag:
Code:
Artist Title Album AlbumArtist CoverTag Displayed Cover
Daft Punk Get lucky Singles Daft Punk get lucky get lucky
Deftones Bored Singles Deftones bored get lucky
Avicii Levels Singles Avicii levels levels
Avicii Wake me up Singles Avicii wake me up wake me up
This work around will correctly display different covers for each of those songs, all in the "Singles" album, BUT not for the two different songs by Avicii. It's because the Mediastore Class will allow different covers for different "AlbumArtists" on a single Album. Since the AlbumArtist tag for both Avicii songs are the same, it will only use one of the covers for all Avicii songs in the same album "Singles".
Sorry, but this really pisses me off.

Busy setting up my music on the HTC One and ran into the same problem. Tried a few players and MixZing displays the artwork associated with the track regardless of the folder or album title,
Maybe you can use the music folder player (PlayerPro & Neutron Music Player have the feature) without re-tagging files.
For example:
There are three files: 02 - Track 1, 03 - Track 2, and 02 - Track 3, just like below
01 - Track 3
02 - Track 1
03 - Track 2
you need to put track numbers in the file name, like this
01 - Track 1
02 - Track 2
03 - Track 3
Sorry to make this like insulting someone.
I know this thread is WAY old, but I am running into the same "hair pulling" problem myself. Used the app "Tag & Rename" and set everything up. I have about 2.6GBs of "90s music" that I just want to show up in Play Music as ONE album but display different cover art for each individual song.
Tried everything. The only way it shows one album for all the music is if I select "Part of a Compilation" and build the metadata that way, but then Google Play music just uses one cover art for all 300+ songs. If I uncheck "Part of a Compilation" then each artist is it's own entry into Google Play music with different cover art for each song. But, now I have 300 different songs under the album "Ultimate 90s" which doesn't work for me either.
Driving me nuts it is. Anyone figure out a way to force it to display multiple cover art for multiple artists within the same album?!?!

Anyone know how to view multiple cover art in each mp3? For years I have Mp3tagged mutiple cover art to hundreds of mp3's and still waiting for a time to be able to view them in any music player.
..to bring this thread up again, android still has this annoying problem!
I create(d) samplers for every year and periods and do want to see individual covers for each song.
My solution was poweramp, but now the problem returns with my android car system,
Does anyone have hints?
Poweramp best solutions sir
For others who have the same problem, I found the solution, which is quite simple and logical:
Simply edit the tag "albumartist" to the individual artist!!
You're done!
I've noticed a strange glitch in the Android music library. Any albums that I download from Bandcamp come up with a very glitchy-looking black and white album cover in the album list view, or just no cover at all. Once a song from the album is playing, the player screen shows the album art just fine. I primarily use PowerAMP for music, but since it utilizes the android library, this is more of a problem with Android than the app, I think, as the problem exists in the default player as well. Does anyone have any clue as to why this is, or how to fix it? Thank you. I'll have some screenshots below.
