my brand new touchpad always shows that i have only 1.7 GB free out of 32 GB.............btw the touchpad is brand new out of the box with nothing installed on it
Edit:- I ran touchdroid build once then removed it. Don't know if that created the issue
Thats strange, Try doing a reset on it. If that doesnt work I bet doing a WebOS doctor will fix it for you. Let me know if you need the links and the steps on how to do it.
already tried doing it twice
Sounds like faulty hardware if the WebOS Doctor didn't fix it. Give HP a call, should be under warranty still.
i guess it happened because my friend installed touchdroid build of android and resized the partitions

Since when does "the touchpad is brand new out of the box with nothing installed on it" mean that touchdroid is installed with partitions?

Yea, but you still need to unformat those extra partitions. Doctor doesn't format those partitions for you. In the future, if you give us all of this info up front, we'll be able to get you the answer more quickly.
My previous post was to illustrate how you didn't give us this info to begin with since you said it was brand new out of the box with nothing installed. This gives us the impression that you unwrapped it, powered it on, went into the settings menu, and noticed the discrepancy. Just be more detailed in the future is all.
anyone have an answer to this. i´ve searched plenty, but i only found the instructions to remove it.
i did this but my 16gb tp shows me ia have only 2.5gb free. this is driving me nuts lol.

So I have searched and searched through my phone and I can't find what is taking up all my space. I"m on Nos M7 3.05, android 4.2.2. It created the sd card 0 which is fine but it's like there is some hidden files that are taking up so much space. I was on a older version of nos and did a back up. Flashed this and now I can't find my back up. Can anyone help me?

Well I looked there before, and yes it has my old stuff but nothing in there was taking up that much space. So it was data/media/emulated I deleted media which only had the emulated file there. It broke the rom i was on, but I fixed it with a adb sidload. So now it says I have ten gigs, I guess must have had an hidden back up in there or something.Still missing 5 gigs? I mean at least 3 taken up by the os right?
did you try to erase old backups in the clockworkmod folder?

What you deleted was a symlink to your /0 folder, so you basically deleted your sdcard as 4.2+ sees it, your 4.1 stuff may still be in /data/media. Not all file explorers show it correctly, solid does and I think maybe es might in root mode, otherwise a lot get confused by the symlinking and show your /0 not data/media.
If you don't have solid, there's a trial doe it, give it a try, or other root explorers, and see if you can see inside /data/media.

Hi, we've got the old S2 out a drawer to lend to someone, it's not been used for 6+ months but worked fine then, the wifi no longer works, it thinks about turning on for about 10 seconds then switches back to off. I've tried a factory reset, I've tried CM12.1, tried going back to a different stock rom, still nothing at all, all does the same. Done lots of googling and people say to enter *#*#526#*#* to see what the wifi test says but that code doesn't work for me on 4.1.2, just get a sorry this number is not available.
Any ideas, be good to get it working.
Thanks.
Mine did this too, try taking the SIM card out. In the end I've completely wiped it and am now running CM12 nightly and it's being used by one of my lads as a gaming thing, and it works well for that (on WiFi) now I've sorted the partition sizes.

Cheers, I'll have a look at the weekend.
I used the Android x86 installer for UEFI devices found here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software/winapp-android-x86-installer-uefi-t3222483
That installed fine and the OS runs fairly well though I would like to have my /data partition be located on an SDCard rather then on my actual built in storage.
Now, from my other attempts at trying to install Android x86 I've learned that nothing can boot from an SDCard but is it possible to have Grub or Android use an SDCard for my /data directory?
I'm pretty sure I saw a thread mentioning this a while ago but I can't seem to dig it back up for the life of me.
Thanks guys.
Anyone have any info on this, I've still yet to figure this out.
it's some thing you doing in your phone that makes the orginal installation path to your sd card but what is your cell phone model first ???

Your issue is probably a problem with the kernel not being able to use your display or GPU properly. Just wait until the next RC or chekc out the IRC chat, someone might be able to help you there.

I'm not talking about an actual Android phone, I'm using Android x86 on an ASUS Transformer Book T100TAM.
So I've since tried to create symlinks from the /data partition to the sdcard and it ended up just crashing/bootlooping. I figured it might be because the sdcard is a FAT32 formatted device and there for doesn't support Unix permissions/ownership. I tried formatting the card as EXT4 and now android just refuses to mount it.
Any one have any ideas for me?
Thanks.
I'm running out of ideas here. Does anyone have any suggestions for me on this issue?
Suddenly phone got 5-10 fps out of nowhere and not changing back.
Decided to get logcat and see if something interesting came up (this is maybe 40 min after when phone started to be a little more "normal")
It started ok with some warning but soon went to application error and then access denied to files?!
I did not use Instagram(the app crashing) for over 12 hours before.
Now the last picture is running over and over again (same things coming up, like it was looped)
So am I forced to reset and flash from start? Should I be worried about anything?
Thanks in advance!
Edit: it changed to some really worth and (to me) worrying things so a full reset is mandatory when I get home...

It seems your software has been corrupted somehow. Yes, reflashing your stock firmware should fix this.

So I have this phone Xiaomi Redmi 10X, and I wanted to put Pixel Experience 11.0 in it, after seeing this thread on GitHub.
To my surprise, following steps on that link was not that easy!
I flashed MIUI 22.1.19 manually (not in the correct way), and I ended up with a hard bricked phone.
Yesterday, while Googling about that, I managed to run into a tool called MTKClient v2.0
{

"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
and it solved my problem, by flashing original firmware and got it correctly working with the default MIUI 13 system.
BUT, that wasnt enough for me, because I still wanted to put Pixel Experience in it since I like it so much and think it is so sexy!!! So I, without knowing what I was doing, erased all the partitions in my phone with that tool.
Now, I cant get it to connect to that tool to work or connect with my device. On the cmd behind though, I do get some hope after seeing that device is still recognized in some way, but that's all there is to it, it doesnt go further, only "Phone detected: Reading model info".
I've tried to wait and keep both volume buttons pressed at the same time, but to no avail.
Since this, I've tried several tools but none is working to reset my partition table to original state, since I think that's my problem.
Any idea how to fix it?

No. What is that?

Even if it connects, it shows no partitions to write over.
What it needs, is to first restore the erased partitions, I think, and then writing (flashing) the firmware into it.
