I can't mangage to downgrade to the old baseband. How can I see it? CM7 still dosent have GSM or Data. I tried with LGDMP, no result. It always says download complete, but no effect. Please don't answer like "Read the stickies", blah blah.
I need you to tell me, step by step, how to downgrade my baseband. Do not fail me again!
1.Download p500 v10E baseband.exact if it is a zip file.
2.Open lgmdp tool, click select port and select your mobile.
3.Then in image folder on top, browse to p500 v10E folder.
4.You will get 2-3 dialogue boxes, simply close them.
5.then select download now.
6.Do not disconnect until it says download complete.
5.Now install cm7 and u should now have the old baseband, with working gsm and data.

I have had this problem... it didn't appear because i didn't wait for a while (1-2 mins) after i flashed old baseband and reboot my phone...
So , did you wait for it

The problem is that I have already installed CM7, How can I get rid of it and install the old basebanda?
if LGDMP fails to downgrade your baseband, i think your only option left is to flash back the stock firmware using kdz (i believe this is called the "russian way" of downgrading the baseband):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1060121
if you do choose to downgrade using this method, keep in mind that everything on your phone will be wiped
I wiped everything on my phone all the times. Now how can I get rid of CM7, so I can freshly install Baseband?

the instructions are in the link that i posted earlier.
when i said that everything is wiped, im not just talking about the wipe you do when you switch roms. this is a complete wipe that will put your phone back to when you first got it (stock, unrooted, etc)
It worked with LGDMP. I accidentally skipped a step... Anyway, it got stuck at NV restore, but my phone already had it, so I pressed Cancel. It works now! Thanx for da help.

No problem with English but will be great a Multilingual Rom for all international users...

For the skipping sprint activation you also can freeze all apps with "sprint" (or sprint zone and sprintOmaDm as minimum) in the title via titanium backup.
They have a "stockish" rom that is in the development section that everyone is ranting about. By I personally am running the Alien ROM. which is okay. But I'd go with either Star Wars or the Stockish ROM myself. I'm gonna be flashing over the Stockish one tomorrow.
Thanks to all...
now i'm flashing Alien.....
after, if i'm not happy try others...
Good luck.
Flashing Alien rom will not skip the long network check on boot. Do not and i repeat do not freeze the Sprint zone as this causes a force close when it finishes the check upon reboot and causes it to check over and over again. (first hand experience of this)
Simple solution, put pbone into airplane mode before powering off, add the widget to your home screen. When you re boot knock it out of airplane mode and will connect to your network provider and no need to change any settings.
This was posted in another thread but cannot remember which one.

^^ i am facing the same issue here.. any solution?
If your phone is unlocked then flash the full puddin SBF file using RSD. Make sure it's the big file and not the one that's around 1 - 2 mb. Once finished it will say fail, pop the battery and re boot. Should now work again and do the long network check but without force close. Then just use airplane mode before shutting down each time.
Again do not freeze or remove sprint zone, that is the cause of the force close, not the roms.
Maybe an easier way but that's what I had to do.

Freezing SprintOmaDm disables the Sprint check. However, for some reason, the slide locks are disabled.
If there's a fix, I'd love to hear it...

Looks like the pudding_stock_unlock.sbf link is no longer available. I still have it on my machine but it weighs in at just under 2.5GB (silly me, its 404MB when zipped, uploading to FileFactory now)
Think your best option at present is to go back to basics. Firstly flash the stock recovery from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1216143
Then download and flash the latest ota for rsd from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1202666
Then go through the process of rooting/unlocking.

Yes go through the process of erase recovery then flash the stock recovery, take note that it is .smg just in case you think its .img
Then get RSD fired up and select the official update, phone into rsd mode and wait for it to complete. If all goes well it will say you need to manually re boot your device.
Any probs let us know and will try our best

Glad you are back up and running
So you did not freeze the sprint zone at all?
When i flashed the HomeBase Photon Stock rom it went through the network check, hit ok at the end and got a force close. Must admit that never happened with the Alien rom though.
This is why now i am only rooted. Installed the latest update and just rooted. Had too many issues with custom roms, to be honnest stock is very fast and i also use ADWLauncher EX. You can also freeze/unistall the bloatware if need be, there is another thread with a list of safe apps to remove, but not sprint zone lol
Heres the link for the full Pudding_Unlock.SBF file
Hello and merry xmas!
I had some trouble with my Neo phone, would not start and so after i tried to fix and flash it.
So i used the FlashTool_0.2.9.1_FOTAUnbrick to get it up again
i just connected the phone, and clicked flash, and it was up
But now it wants to update to 4.0.2.A.0.42, says only pc companion can do it. So i tried but got a error after a while. and it it bricked the phone again.. had to use flashtool to get up again.
Its up, but still wants to update to 4.0.2.A.0.42.
My phone WAS rooted before all trouble, and it worked fine for a long time, until the SE Neo launcher started to loop like crazy.
I also tried to root it again, both with superoneclick, and Flashtool-0.5.0.0.
And once i tried the Repair phone by pc companion, it starts to download.. but at the end, it says it cant, and bricking my phone (again)...
What now?? Would really have the latest software as i had, and to install my titanium backup pro to get all things as they was... or can i forget it?
Try updating it with SEUS !

Hi,
I am not sure how to get it into recovery mode. I googled, and it only gave some Cm 7 recover mode. Sorry, pretty new at this :-/
But have not tried factory reset. Hope it will help.. Or it will "delete/brick" my ROM again..
I just do not understand how it got downgraded after all this trouble, and my failed flashing.

Factory reset made it only start looping on and off with "sony ericsson" on the screen...
4.0.2.A.0.42
flash it manually with flashtool, will fix all problems.
So this is what i have for now:
Factory reset = bricked.. did not worked
Flashing failed at userdata with Flashtool = Bricked
But i manage to get it running again by flashing it with loader.sin with FlashTool_0.2.9.1_FOTAUnbrick.
Android 2.3.4 - Build number 4.0.1.A.0.283 - Up and running
OTA says it wanna download 4.0.2.A.0.42 = (but it did not download 165 mb as SEUS below here says) Downloaded pretty fast (i have only 2MB line), asked me to install. Clicked install, phone reboots, and failed. It Says: Could not install new software version, try again. I retried 3 times. same error. But not bricked this time.
Installed SEUS v.2.11.12.9 , doing a Update as recommended by program (not the Update and factory reset), downloading 165,2 MB (takes time.. OTA was done in 2 minutes seconds, so something wrong there)
But Success with updating with SEUS !
But phone is not rooted anymore. And i'm not sure i wanna do it... thou my Titanium backups is very tempting :-/
Can someone tell me if i need more then a rooted phone to use WOTAN flash tool?
Cus it is always stops halfway with an error.
I currently have 2.3.4 - build 4.0.2.A.0.42
I also tried other flash tools, same error..

No you don't need an unlocked bootloader to use wotan, just register download the wotan client and use your registration details to login and flash
I did try that, and it always fails at flashing userdata (number 9 i think), then i brick phone.
And the i always have to use FlashTool FOTAUnbrick and loader.sin to get it up and running again.
I also tried flashtool with 2.3.4 ROM..same error.. fails after a while and brick it..
strange !

Thanks, but that's the one i already have for unbricking my phone.
My bootloader is not unlocked, so i do not understand.
What i did today was i tried to use Wotan, selected ROM, it's starting the flashing, and fails on userdata.
I disconnected phone, started it, and its bricked.. (shows the triangle with phone in-front of it.)
I start up FlashTool_0.2.9.1_FOTAUnbrick as administrator, click on flash, load loader.sin, connect phone, it takes 5 sec, it says its done, and phone up again.
Of course all userdata is gone, i have to restore all kind of apps from titanium backup and so..
Phone is ok.... but many apps keeps on crashing. For example sms, dialer and so.. until i restore i older backup from titanium, but it lasts only a day or two after using, so i have to repeat it often. That's why i wanna install a fresh ROM all over again.
I am pretty new at this, but learned a lot last weeks by failing
I may be wrong but to me this sounds like you may have broke the bootloader.

ohh really ? I guess i should of done that right away, b/c for a few moments i sat around thinking god i just messed up somewhere.....so do you believe i should go thru the whole process again ? It did create a nv file in the directory of the unpacked files....what i did once i saw that fail status, i ended up rebooting my phone, than working mobile data i than hit ok, only after reboot...so my question ? Do you think it's safe to restart the process ?
When you were flashing the baseband, did it say "download complete" at the end of the process? If it did, and you have working gsm/data, I'd say you are pretty set for now.
If you do find that later on, you have gsm/data problems (that are not rom-related), I would redo the process. If you want to be on the safe side, you can always reflash the baseband of course, but again, if everything seems to be working, I would just leave everything as it is.
By the way, I was just rereading all of the posts, and I just want to point out that unless you are on CM7 nightlies, your baseband will always read as V07u-000-000-MAR-23-2009 under settings>about phone
I actually think i might have new baseband check out the pic
I think you have the old baseband, since v10(insert letter here) is the old baseband, and v20(insert letter here) is the new baseband.
Oh no buddy it worked i was on v10e, i just flashed v20g to try and use with blackbird, but after seeing all the bugs in the rom i decided to switch back to V10E, i have to say im impressed...i do see a difference...i didnt think there would be a difference but there is

Before we go any further.....you are stock ICS ? using the 3.0.8 stock ICS kernel ?
We should try something else before the downgrade....as you "technically" have the wrong baseband version for TMO...
We need to get you rooted again, and flash up a new radio....first...to test network...
now I know the blaze radio got you stuck, but believe it or not...you need it to run the ATT note, on the TMO network...
Are you familiar with the ICS root process ?
It's too easy...simply push CWM .tar file to the device via Odin, then we can flash the baseband and test.....
quite possibly eliminating the need for much more work...g

Just to clarify: you do this at your own risk....as this image will force restore the device to a stock ATT I717 GB rom.....
let me know when you are done with the flash...then we do step 2....g
Edit: 2....it is wise to format the emmc partition prior to using this method, to clean the ICS files from the device...this is done in CWM....it's not required...but helps...IMHO

Just to clarify: you do this at your own risk....as this image will force restore the device to a stock ATT I717 GB rom.....
let me know when you are done with the flash...then we do step 2....g
Edit: 2....it is wise to format the emmc partition prior to using this method, to clean the ICS files from the device...this is done in CWM....it's not required...but helps...IMHO

ok, how do you wipe data and factory reset without root.. is it factory data reset? and how to format emmc?
Just factory reset....if you dont have root,,,you cant format the emmc...
It'll do....
we'll full wipe after you get GB flashed....g
Okay...once you get GB pushed over...
then you need the CWM recovery....
Push it after you push the GB rom. but remember...you must allow the device to reboot after each flash, and then return to download mode again..
It's slow...but it's required....
After you get CWM pushed.....and booted, then we will go into CWM and do some house keeping on the EMMC....
followed by this:
http://www.4shared.com/zip/0zahxvtc/033112.html?
That is the radio image we are going to flash in CWM...and if we get lucky, It's gonna fix this mess for you....
I'll wait here....tap, tap, tap, tap.......LOL....g
ok flashed it..
android version: 2.3.6
bb version: i717uclf6
kernel version:2.6.35.11
build #: gingerbread.ucla1
---------- Post added at 01:37 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:32 PM ----------
ok 2.3.6 installed and cwm flashed.. now what lol
Okay......now we need the CWM recovery....
so back into download mode, and Odin push this:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1526431
It's the top recovery on the first page...just click the "odin" version, and it will download the correct CWM.tar image...then flash that sucker....g
edit: yur fast...LOL
Now, we need to boot into CWM.....
then, wipe data, factory reset.......
then wipe cache, dalvik cache, battery stats....
then...and here is the scary part...
In the advanced menu options, you will find the option to format "EMMC"....do it...then reboot from the CWM screen.....g
After the EMMC wipe and reboot....you are going to flash this radio image in CWM...
Sorry for the reboot, but it was needed to flush the memory, and repopulate the Emmc with only the rom specific data needed to boot....http://www.4shared.com/zip/0zahxvtc/033112.html?

Okay...you have a different CWM version...thats okay...lets flash the radio image in CWM, and see if you get service...
this radio is a base TMO image, no frills, but is compatible with your network...and if service is available, you'll get it after the flash and reboot...

tense drama, lads!
Ok. I felt the need to chime in here. G, you are going above and beyond and just wanted to say thank you for all those folks who need help! Although XDA isn't a help hotline, it's people like you that help spread the fun and excitement in the mobile electronics realm. I do what I can but you sir are taking it to another level. I know there's more like you but since I've followed this from the beginning, you get my thanks!
Glad you're here.
