Extreme lag when rebooting - Motorola Photon 4G

Periodically, my phone will enter a state of extreme unresponsiveness, to the point of being unusable. If I wait it out, everything eventually clears up. Problem is it used to be 30-60s, now it's minutes.
The most reproducible way to get this to happen is to restart my phone. When I do this, I literally put my phone down for 30-45 MINUTES and just wait.
I just struggled through updating to 45.2.7 today, and re-rooted (took WAY too much effort, but that's a different story).
Are there any apps I should look out for that could be the culprit? Any suggestions would be helpful.

Wow. I have the exact same problem with my phone. I can even try to make a call but it never connects right away. 10-20 minutes later it will connect. Even apps I try to open do the same thing. Then it took me 3 days to finally upgrade also and then rooted it. Like u said after 30 - 45 minutes or so it's better but sometimes still randomly unresponsive. Reboots and battery pulls dont seem to help at all. I'm running stock rom and rooted. Any help would be greatly appreciated also.

Super annoying text app!

Im using stock because I love it, but all of my recieved texts are coming in from an hour later, even though my phone says current time. So when i reply, my messages aren't at the bottom. I cleared data, rebooted, no go. Anyone know how to fix?
It was working fine until i went across the border from eastern timezone to central, then the phone has ever since had this bug...!

The only thing the OTA actually did was update a few apps... the phone doesn't reboot after finishing or anything. Doesn't change any of the radios or anything from what I noticed.
Would a factory reset fix this? I'm not roaming anymore and it's still displaying an hour later.

download "sms time fix" from the market like jaskwith said, set it to use phone time and BAM! your troubles are gone. this is an easy fix. no need for a hard reset
I recommend simply updating your Profile and PRL on your device. I had that happen to a friend and once I updated those two things for her, her problem went away.

OTA - fixed all my issues

Ok.. I flashed back to stock yesterday. I was returning the phone because of my GPS issues. I had to reboot to get GPS to lock every time.
After the stock flash, I got an OTA message. I figured "why not"
The GPS seems to work perfect. I can get locks consistently. It also seems a whole lot faster and more responsive. The lagginess is gone.
I highly suggest flashing stock (previous) with RSD lite then getting the update.
Same here. I have service again in my house!

2 minute lag delays and constant freezing :/

Hey everyone,
So my girlfriend just got the LTE about 2 weeks ago, and now there is a real problem. I rooted it for her with s-off and flashed the stock/liquidsmooth rom. Everything has been running extremely smooth and great until today. The phone was in her pocket while we were out and when she pulled it out of her pocket and tried to unlock it, the phone was lagging really bad like a 15 second lag delay on everything and kept freezing. I tried wiping everything and reflashing the rom 2 or 3 times and its still doing the same thing. I'm very "flash savvy" and have quite a bit of android experience. When I push the power button to unlock the phone, the 3 bottom lights will just light up with the screen still black for about 2 minutes until it will light up and work semi smoothly.
Nothing was working so I try flashing another rom from the dev section and the same thing is still happening. I dont want to have to unroot it and take it into Sprint, so any help is greatly appreciated.
Anyone?
Sent from my PG86100 using xda premium
No need to unroot - Sprint treats rooted phones the same as non-rooted phones now. There's clearly something severely wrong with the phone if you've wiped and flashed multiple times. Maybe run the RUU? If not, go to Sprint.

The bootloader is unlocked, and I can't for the life of me get it to relock. EVERY method I've tried doesn't work for me. Will they take it even with the unlocked/tampered bootloader?
Well I've got the phone to work a little better...But everytime I lock the phone and try to unlock it, it won't respond for about 2 minutes. And it keeps saying "process system is not responding" or sometimes "process com.android.phone is not responding". I've tried fixing permissions and partition SD card. Guess I'm taking it to sprint.
I am pretty sure you can get it repaired or replaced regardless of the bootloader status. Search the General section or the Q&A section. I guarantee it has been discussed, I just don't remember the answer.

Correct, as long as one has total equipment protection
If a store gives issues on it just ask them to look it up in policy.
OP
You tried re flashing that Rom and wipes but have you tried a different Rom?

I wiped cache, dalvik, system, factory data. The usual. And tried flashing 5 roms - stock with goodies(the latest one and an older one), miklatte, meanrom, and a stock rooted rom. Tried fixing permissions on all of them too. I tried 2 different kernels and reflashed the radio aswell but no luck.
I took it into sprint today and they wanted to keep it overnight lol, so I will findout in the morning.
Still blows my mind how the phone went from working so great and then 5 minutes later it was completely unresponsive.

[Q] No Network at all.. 3G 1X or LTE

So after working with Sprint with morning and messing with it all day I am at a lost and have taken to XDA to find the cure.
My LTE stopped working properly over the past, well ever since i got it actually, but ever since LTE went live in Chicago i have not been able to keep a mobile connection. I have been switching back and forth between my og EVO and my LTE. I went back to my LTE and long story short I can make calls and texts and the WiFi works but I have no mobile network. It shows the bars but has no 1x or 3g or 4g icon. I have had Sprint reset the phone and re-active it numerous times and still nothing. Anyone have an idea how to get it back? even by going through ##3828# ?
on a side note, when Sprint re-activated the phone and reset it when i booted the phone back on it did NOT do a hand free activation.
Please Help
EDIT: also it won't do Firmware, PRL, Profile updates....

I did, my phone will not update PRL or PRI, it just loads and loads. And Sprint never can help me I have called today.
I just got a glimpse of 3G!! So I opened Titanium Backup and i got this "message" (see attached) I clicked "restore the previous ID" and my 3G icon went on for about 10 seconds and then went away again and has not reappeared.
I am also having this problem as of today...just randomly happened....Just keeps "Looking for Service" wifi works, but nothing else does.....hmmmmmm
Mine though has no bars, just an x above the bars....won't call/text/anything....hmmmmm
Mine does this occasionally. Especially while using WiFi. X over signal, looking for service. I started a thread but didn't get a reply. For me, rebooting the phone restores the signal. It hasn't happened for a while so hopefully fixed itself somehow.

Just got off the phone... all they wanted to do was a profile update. Data Profile reset and then a Factory Reset.
All of which I have tried before. Finally she told me I had to take it into a Sprint service center because their is something physically wrong with the phone because the hands free activation would never activate.
READ!!!!!! ----> She mentioned something under her breath that I don't think she wanted me to hear. She asked if I was in Illinois. When I said yes I am in the Chicago Suburb area she quietly said "oh.. there is an outage in your area" HMMMM Interesting.

Help fix 4G :(

Im going to explain this problem in a depth as i can.
I am s-off'd via jtagged, rooted and have twp recovery. I am on newest radio running NOS M7 v2.0.3
I can only connect to 3G for some reason with it reading eHRPD.
i do not know if it was reading this before i started the process of rooting since i never turn the phone completely on once i got it back.
So after some reading and advice i downloaded LTE on off to force 4G
It worked but at the cost of losing my mobile network causing me to not be able to make calls or send out text but i have 4G i can get on the internet.
Atm i am plagued with having 3G and service or using 4G w/o service... and this is a problem.
Also while on 4G it reads RSRP if that helps.
Idk if this is a hardware problem from me getting my device jtagged (which would suck since that means im stuck with it) or if it can be fixed.
Any suggestions would be highly appreciated since im getting annoyed

I had the same problem when I got my phone back. Took it back to Verizon and got a new phone. I tried everything and nothing worked. It is like something happened to the radio. Tried to flash a new one nothing. Still haven't heard back from mtv on trying to get a refund.

Sigh thats something i wanna avoid so Ill just have to stay stuck until moonshine comes out. I really like sense 5 and I don't wanna go back to 4+... Then I'll get a replacement I guess.
As far as RUU to stock and seeing if I was on LTE I already did all that. I was almost looking into build.props but I assumed that wouldnt work either. So guess I'm just stuck on 3G unless it randomly wanna come back which I doubt unless somebody comes up with a solution besides just getting a replacement.

Correct they are free, but the guy I tend to see at the Verizon store always seems to launch that hboot screen everytime I go in there. He did when I had the SIM card swapped earlier in the year as it would disconnect from my network several times a day. So I just want to be on the safe side.
I had my SIM card replaced twice on my resound and both times went to the store without relocking the bootloader or anything. Didn't have any issues. They programmed the new card and I was on my merry way. Maybe call em first and without giving any of ur account information ask if u can get a new SIM card if uv rooted ur phone. It would suck to go thru that process if it's not necessary but I can certainly understand the better safe than sorry approach. The phone call would definitely be worth the time though imo.

Correct they are free, but the guy I tend to see at the Verizon store always seems to launch that hboot screen everytime I go in there. He did when I had the SIM card swapped earlier in the year as it would disconnect from my network several times a day. So I just want to be on the safe side.

Just go in and ask for a new sim card. No need to waste your time relocking and s-on'ing your phone.

So I got the issue resolved without a new SIM card. So here is a combo of things I did to resolved the issue. I have everything in the link below.

I think it was resolved after I flashed my radio and then I went back to stock just in case I have any more issues in the next week. As if I do I will go back to the Verizon store and swap out my phone. But I'd rather be S-ON in case that happens and be that way for a bit. Plus I wanted to test the S-ON for future purposes of in case I needed to get back there I knew how to.
