can i download any nexus one rom and install it on eris?
No, you can not.
oh ok thanks. and how bout the cyanogen mods? how can i install a rom based on that? 2.1 preferably
If it's made for a seperate phone you can't put it on yours. For the cyanogen mods see any of our cyanogen based roms. I suggest the one in my signature.
i tried that one but what i want to know if theres any cyanogen mod roms based on 2.1

That's based on cyanogenmod 5.8 (the highest 2.1 I believe?)
The Cyanogenmod6 ones are probably way better anyway. 2.2 is sweet, now that they have everything working pretty well. I'd go in that direction.
But, enjoy.

There's a few, like Conaps Eris Lighting Bolt. Find jCases Known ROMS, hacks, and patches post and you'll find a bunch of 2.1 ROMS but only one or two are CM.

No it cannot be flashed as of yet because of CWM version. Eyama is in the process of porting 4.x.x to our mimmi and i guess robyn too as they cant be much different.

Well they havent yet and eyama said today he was doing it, so i guess the race is on. And what is really stupid is that they release the rom before the rec to actually install it, whats with that. Sorry my rant for the day.

The FXP kernel already contains what you need in order to flash the CM ROM.
This isn't Formula 1 btw.

There you go, someone always corrects if you are wrong, thanks. Yeah i know its not but its late and i couldnt think of a better way of saying that.
So we need to extract the kernel from zip or is there a link posted in the FXP thread, sorry i havent had a look yet?
Cheers,
Evil.
The main problem is for mini pro cause kernel is unflashable.
Hi nAa, it's been a long time since you released an update. What's up? Are you working on a new kernel (2.6.35 or something )! Can we expect a new update sometime soon?

Thaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaanks man! so isnt gonna be a new kernel update yet?
what Gapps we should flash? because the apps you suggest in your thread are differente from the cyanogenmod forums
guys I tried the Official Cyanogenmod 7.1 for my mini ( http://forum.cyanogenmod.com/topic/32778-cyanogenmod-7-for-the-xperia-x10-mini-v710-11-oct-2011/ )
If you want to try it flash FXP kernel first.
Still the official cyanogenmod still has issues.. for example no 5mp camera, only 640x480.
Back to MiniCM7
+emmanuel, is it better than MiniCM7 in any way?

MiniCM7 is blazingly fast especially the latest release, but I think it's too early to tell that cyanogenmod is not good. In the future cyanogenmod will surely be better than MiniCM7 with full support from cyanogenmod team.
Also.. cyanogenmod has Android 2.3.7 but for now I recommend you staying with MiniCM7.. I am sure there are bugs present in CyanogenMod such as camera still 640x480.
but it's worth a try like I did

Now, Now. Don't go telling the nice person they will hard brick their X10. It is nigh unto impossible to brick an X10. A bunch of people have posted asking why their X10 is bootlooping or stuck at splash screen when they flashed a mango or kumquat or tango or some other Sony CM rom. So the real answer is yes you can flash the CM9 RC1 for the Arc. Will it boot? Ugh....No. Now where is X10forevers Mokee thread. ITS GONE MISSING. Did you know X10forevers only had 14 posts outside of his Mokee thread. I want my Mokee back.
Thanx both u guys....
I thought it would work...since its the same HW wise...will stick to FXP cm 9 for the time being! D
Much appreciate ur help...

Do you live in a 4g area and make use of it? Go with MOF's rom.
Do you not care/use 4g but value complete stability and amazing battery life? Go with 2.3.5 Hybrid or CM7
Do you like to be on the bleeding edge but can handle some slight bugs and stability issues? Go with a Jelly Bean based ROM. CNA would be my recommendation as it seems to be the most stable and has the best battery life of the bunch.
i will try 2.3.5 Hybrid
but i found many links which link i download the rom
my bootloader is unlocked
do i have to install KERNEL and ADDON ?

Kernel is included, addons are not necessary.
CM10 is the best. 4G is pointless so avoid all stock roms. They are not any good.
i am not using 4g
is cm10 stable ?

You think HybridRom isn't any good?
It's brilliant work in mine and many others opinion. CM10 is damn good and what I run as my daily, but you can't deny that at it's current iteration, there are still a few issues that don't exist within stockbased roms.
can you give me the cm10 link to try it ?
can i use cdma with this rom ?

Just go to Photon Android Development section and click on cm10.... Again, i would suggest CNA JB or AOKP JB over cm10 right now. CM10 hasnt been updated as frequently as the rest and has more bugs.
[Q] What is Diffident between MIUI ROM and Other ROM (CM9 CM10) ?

CM9 and CM10 look and work like original android. (ICS and JB respectively)
MIUI rewrote just about the entire user-interface and several of the standard apps to give a different user-experience, but MIUI itself is built on top of Android.
If you've tried CM9 or 10, then there's no harm in trying out a MIUI rom either and see how you like it.
If you make a backup in CWM first you have your phone back working like it is now by just doing a restore.
MIUI v4 ROMS are based on ICS so you use them with the nAa ICS kernel.

Try This by Resac, and read the follow-up posts too for some tips on MIUI specific stuff.
The first time you install MIUI it can take a long time to boot (up to 5 or more minutes) so be patient. Have fun
