After the Gungerbread update... - XPERIA X10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

My father's X10 is working fine except the internet keeps shutting down. To restart it, he needs to reboot the phone...any ideas why this is happening??
Also, can I have the HTC Stocks app install on the phone? I am not talking about all the stock apps but the Stock App for stock market... Its his requirement as mine (HTC HD7) works wonders...
Thanx!

Have you tried a fresh reinstall of the gingerbread update? You could of had a bad flash. Or try a ROM or two.

After upgrading to 2.1 my phone fails to come out of airplane mode as I use it when I am in the subway for a 45 minute trip..
What is the issue? Software itself?

Are you using "SwitchPro" or that kind of apps that have the right to control modes? It happens to me sometimes , the only solution is to reboot my phone. But my problem happens to be related to the "SwitchPro" app..

hi, try install Titanium backup, and freeze device management. You won't get the update notification anymore.

[Q] Phone turns itself off

Hi,
When I turn data on, after about 1 minute, the phone shuts itself off.
Is it a kernel, software or battery issue? Happened on X10Sv9 and on Donut's (Ferakernel and DoomKernel).
Regards

Does it shutdown when data is turned on directly after you install the ROM and Kernel and before you install and modify your user environment???
Have you configured your APN details?
Using xReccovery you could backup your phone and then step through the process of installing your environment; with xrecovery backups along the way.
Then when you identify the process/application/configuration causing the problem you can restore the previous backup and start from there.
Does this happen when you use a standard SEUS fresh install with no modifications???
Does this only happen when you install an overlocked/modified Kernel????

As far as I can notice, as soon as I use data, camera, or any other, lets say 'heavy' stuff, it turns itself off. If it occurs 2-4 times, the battery starts showing 1%, and then it begins going up till about the previous percentage.

Odp: [Q] Phone turns itself off
I had exactly the same issue. I didn't use data so.much, but the phone started to shutting down even on 50%. I continued using it and it was definitely battery issue. The battery got bigger, so i couldn't close the back anymore. I have bought a bew one and everything came back to normal behavior .

Well, my apologies for that, i thought you ment that the data was resetting after you unlocked the device trough htcdev :d
3G data gets restarted? You mean it is on, you lock the screen and it goes off? Turn off all battery saving options.

I meant that if the data is set to 'OFF' . after I unlock my phone the data gets auto started.
That's the problem !
Sounds as if an application is forcing the data to be turned on. Check apps that you have recently installed.

Check for tools which like to have influence on your system - battery savers, "ram optimizers" etc.
Well problem solved.. it was a problem with new tasker update...

Bluetooth stopped working....

Whenever I now try and switch bluetooth on it instantly snaps the button back to the off position, I have tried turning it on in loads of different ways and it just won't come back on...
It was working fine till yesterday, I installed Swapp Link app and let it manage the BT connection and now it won't switch on... I have remove / reinstalled the app and restarted phone etc, nothing has fixed it.. any ideas? ;(

Do you have any app like Liama or similar?
Maybe that app has rule to switch your BT?
If you don't have it, try to restart TS and wipe both cache from recovery (if you have it)

nope nothing like that, I even disabled "2x battery" battery saving app and that's not helped either :S not sure why it suddenly just stopped as I haven't add any software onto it....

Bluetooth also suddenly stopped working for me. And it is not possible to turn it on. To make things more interesting - I didn't install anything on my omate since I upgraded to TEST_RELEASE_Omate_2100_TrueSmart_20140314.zip on the day when my omate 8GB/1GB 2100 arrived more than a month ago. It worked fine all this time, and without any visible cause it just stopped today.
I wanted to tether to ipad to provide internet connection, while riding in a bus, and suddenly snap - bluetooth turned itself off. I tried restarting omate. I couldn't figure anything to get it back to work.
it happened exactly 6 hours ago. About the time when you made your post.

I've had this happen on my regular phone. A hard reset has always fixed it.

how to do a hard reset of omate, without voiding the warranty? Do I need to wait until battery runs out?
No, just turn off quickboot and power the watch down. When you turn it back on Bluetooth will probably reinitialize and work again. For a while.

Quickboot didn't knock it out. The defective TrueSmart MTK firmware and hardware combination cause all sorts of problems with using Bluetooth, including some that require a full power cycle reset. That is not possible with Quickboot enabled unless the battery runs down or is removed.

Glad to see your BT and TS are working fine now...
All el devices could be "fixed" by restarting it.
They are all using RAM and/or dalvik cache and that has to cleared sometimes...
Dalvik cache is a "place" where Android decompile apk files for quicker access, so when you wip dalvik cache from recovery you are clearing everything so system has to decompile apk files again and RAM is cleared also...
It's like fresh start and it "fix" many software issues that way...
If you have ADB tools and rooted device, you can use adb reboot from adb shell, no need to open your watch, lose warranty and pull battery out...
