I got this text message upon someone leaving a voice message earlier today.
//ANDROID:xxxxxxxxxx has sent you a Sprint Voice Message. Call 408-970-0000 to listen. MMSN,15f50fe30,2986,V69EhxxlPpO//CM
Anyone else having this issue, and if so, what resolved it, if anything?
I also can't seem to get into my notification options when I call into my voice mail either. Not sure if that's common or not though.

Someone left me a message this morning, it worked perfect. I would force stop it, clear data from the app, update your data profile then reboot and see if it works.
I gave it a shot, but it didn't seem to work. When I call the number texted to me, it just asks if I'm on a voice SMS enabled phone, but doesn't give me any messages.
I tried the suggestion on the help page through the VVM app, to compose a message longer than 15 sec and send it to [email protected]. Haven't had an occasion yet to test it again, but once I do, I'll update this with another reply.
Strange though. Through many different phone activations over the years, this is the only time this happened. Really hope I don't need to do a hard reset. If I do, I hope it works. Not like I can nandroid or anything. lol

Still a no go... Can't figure it out. ; ;
Gonna call Sprint and see what their take is on it. Will report back.
i am actually having the same EXACT problem!! i have tried for force stop and clearing everything... still getting the same message!! and the VM never shows up in the VVM app!! Thanks for any help!!
I guess that's the only other thing I can think of is a hard reset. If that doesn't work I'm guessing it's something on Sprint's side would have to call in for tech support. I know when you boot up for the first time VM tries to provision itself and will say Voicemail provisioned successfully once data services are active.
Well... Just got off the phone with support. I had a very determined girl trying to help me out. Went through a whole bunch of stuff, but nothing helped so far.
Her and I both googled it, and found 2 things:
1. People switching to a phone that doesn't have VVM capability receive these messages.
2. They are command messages to tell VVM to download each new message when they come in.
Can't figure out why the messages are skipping the VVM app and going straight to SMS though.
I think I'm gonna try a hard reset later and see if that does it. Hope it does, because I spent some time getting everything the way I wanted it. lol
Anyone think of a good backup app that'll help cut down on the restoring my stuff time? ^^;
ADDITION: The version of my VVM is T.5.1.0.62 Is this the one everyone else has also? Asking just to cover as many bases as possible.
Had the the same problem called sprint after about 45 min of trying different things i had to hard reset and they reprovisioned and now it works perfect.

Hard Reset did it. It was A LOT more painless than I thought it'd be though. That backup and restore thing from google really helped out a lot in getting all my apps back. ^^
Also make sure you do not have Handcent's "disable stock messaging app" setting on. When it disables the stock app, the stock app can't get the 9016 incoming VVM messages before Handcent does and will cause this.

You're welcome. I doubt it but maybe the Hancent team can find a work around for this. It seems to me that if you disable it it's disabled but maybe they can block all incoming from the stock app except 9016, kind of like a reverse black list (actually they call those white lists don't they?, lol). I'd like to see that happen, but we'll see what the Hancent crew comes up with. I know others have said that other sms apps can do this or something like that, but I like Hancent better than all the others.
Anyways, glad I could help.
My issue's back again. Did have that setting on though, so I'll restart and see if that does the trick. ^^;

I've been trying to tell my wife that for a long time, maybe I can use this as proof, she keeps saying I'm not that smart.
But glad I could help, if I hadn't done it myself I wouldn't have known how to fix it, lol.
Use spc app to "block" the text messages but still get voicemails if using Handcent.
Just wanted to pass this on to you guys, as it has always worked for me. I had the Evo rooted with a custom AOSP rom and had used GV as voicemail then decided I wanted Sprint VVM back. When I made the switch everything seemed okay, but when someone called my phone and it went to voicemail it wouldn't let them leave one. Did some reading and finally figured out something that worked.
1. Stop the VVM process in running apps.
2. Clear the data for Voicmail under applications.
3. Dial *38 and call it as you would any other number( You should hear a few beeps and then it should automatically hangup) This has something to do with disabling call forwarding but will allow your voicemail to properly provision itself.
4. Open VVM and it should tell you that it has been provisioned successfully.
You should be good to go after this point, but if it does not tell you along the bottom of phone that it provisioned try this again but reboot before step 4. Some have also said that updating your profile and prl after doing the *38 helps.
Just thought I would share this as I read the comments about a hard reset when they aren't needed. I'm not to sure this would help with the issue described by the OP but hey its worth a shot instead of losing everything.
Confirmed: Fix Works for Epic 4G
Yep, I had Handcent Default Application enabled...clearing this resulted in Visual Voicemail back to normal.
I'm coming from an iphone 4. I know that makes me sound like a noob but I have grown acustom to visual voicemail since android doesn't have it built in I need an app. Can you guys and gals recommend me one or two thanks.

Same here +1 google voice. You can create a "voice mail only" account and not worry about available numbers.
Youmail Old version works well for me.
+10000000 for Google Voice... plus you can entertain friends with the transcriptions.

If you don't want GVoice or the other mentioned app, AT&T released "AT&T Messages" to cover visual voicemail. Search for it in the marketplace.
I would not use the at&t messages app because it is extremely slow and had major lag issues on the thrill I had. The idea is ok but the follow through is poor.
Add my recommendation to the list lol.
Google Voice
Followed the recommendations and Google voice wins by far.
The only thing is how do you set up a custom message for missed calls?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I777 using XDA App
you have to log in thru the google voice website and set it up thru there
Another Google Voice recommendation. 9 times out of 10 you just read the transcript and that's it, no need to even listen to the voicemail. Works great, and you can even get voice mail audio and transcripts emailed to you, so even if your phone is off or you left it at home, as long as you can check emails you won't miss any messages.
how do you set up google voice to work with AT&T? I thought you couldn't set it up on AT&T and always select "skip" when I get to voicemail set up..

Nope, use the automatic setup in the GV app - worked fine on my Aria a year and a half ago, worked on my SGS2 a couple days ago, but had to enable, switch back to att voicemail in the calls menu, then switch back to GV immediately. Not sure why it took 2 trys to take on the sgs2.

Lol, it doesn't even translate standard English that well.
Yep, google voice is the winner in my book as well. Even though the transcriptions are horribly mangled sometimes, you can usually get the gist of things pretty easily.
I wonder if I missing the obvious but is there a voice recorder on my Razr? If so please let me know. I've tried a few voice recorder apps from the market and they do not work...just get a pounding noise on playback.
I hope this is not a too basic questions but could Moto have left this function out?
Scratching my head at the moment!
Thanks in advance for any help.

as far as i can tell there is no app in the app drawer for voice recording, but if you open a blank/existing text, hit menu, insert, new audio.. you can record a message and send it.. little strange that they don't have the stand-alone app in the app list
Has anyone had any luck with a market voice recorder app?

Ok, I'm not feeling alone! How is there not a voice recorder with the Razr? Wow, I thought is should be a standard app with all "Smart Phones". I and maybe all of you with the razr should question why it is left off and what we can do to have an app that works. Be it from the Market or Side-loaded. So far I cannot get the 3 apps I've tried to work. I have until Wednesday to return my Razr and so far I love this device and want to keep for so many reasons. I'm rooted, use Battery Calibration and AutoKiller Memory Optimization and I getting 24 hours on my battery with intensive use. I even played 4 hours of golf with the screen and GPS on the whole time using (SkyDroid) and it only used 25% of my battery! So the razr rocks IMOP but no recorder, yikes!!! I NEED that for my work so it's a deal breaker if I cannot get it to function.
Hey all, and thanks in advance.
On my newly s-off CM9 Rezound, I'm wondering if there is something I can do about the radio being flaky and a bit of static. Is there improved radio software I can flash? Also, has anyone found a decent visual voice mail replacement? I tried YouMail, but hated it.
I'm really loving CM9 on this phone. This is the way the phone should have been, IMO. Sense blows.
Thank you!
I haven't tested it yet, but what about Google voice?

I've been using google voice and its ok not the greatest.it doesnt transcribe very well.unless the person leaving the voicemail speaks slow and perfectly clearly.and another thing is once you set it up its really hard to get out of it and go back to your regular voicemail.
Sent from my ADR6425LVW using xda app-developers app
Not hard at all to deactivate it. It's pretty much exactly the same as activating it. Just go to the Google Voice website, go to settings, and click Deactivate Google voicemail on this phone. It will walk you through the steps to deactivate it. Not sure why you'd want to...it works just as well as regular visual voicemail and it's free. The transcription isn't perfect, but that doesn't stop you from listening to it just like you would any other voicemail. You can also integrate it with the AOSP dialer so you don't have to even go into the GV app to get your voicemail.
Hey all.
So the tweaking to get my HTC ONE just right continues...
The latest annoyance is the delivery of visual voicemail. I have the AT&T Visual Voicemail App but it is inconsistent (in terms of updating) and a pain to switch over to it for my voicemail messages. I came over from the iPhone bandwagon and got really spoiled with some of the amenities on that side of the fence - VV integrated into the Dialer is one of them.
Anyone come across a Mod to get the Dialer and a VV integration? The dialer itself is kind of a pain, so I wouldn't mind replacing the whole dialer interface if that's an option.
I am Rooted and Running Android Revolution HD for HTC One.
Thanks in advance.
Its programmed differently so probably not possible with stock launcher. I havent had any problems with the notifications though and have a shortcut for it on my homescreen so really not that big of a deal once ya get used to it.
Sent from my HTC One using xda premium
don't know if it's going to be possible with stock Sense and the AT&T VVM, however on CM10.1 you can get Google Voice integration into the dialer call log.
i came to the HTC ONE from the iPhone 5 and i also miss the ease of visual voicemail baked in there.

yeah i had some trouble setting up "google voice LITE". it said it couldn't "retrieve forwarding settings" or something. tried multiple times with no luck. finally went to "voicemail number" in call settings and changed it manually to the number google provided.
i THINK it's working okay now. i called it from a friend's phone and did get my GVoicemail box.

This is what I did too, but the problem is Google Voice is not popping notifications when a voicemail is received. My old phone (SGS2) used to do this, I still haven't found a solution.
I just recently tried out att messages. It's not horrible and you can turn off it notifying you of txt messages and still use the stock sms app.

I also came from the iPhone 5 and miss that functionality. You can use YouMail for a pretty darn good substitute.
