Root your phone and install market access / market enabler is the most given advice here, as this question comes by every now and than. I did not try this as my default market is working fine.

Hi guys,
I have a generic UK firmware 026 for x10i.
A few days ago I reflashed my phone using SEUS as I was having a few problems with the phone.
After reinstalling i noticed there are quite a few apps I cannot find in market. They were there before flashing but now it just cannot find in search.
Is there a fix for this?
I know there is a fix for rooted phones but mine isn't rooted and also its for version 020.

I have also noticed this after debranding and going to 026 in uk was krange branded 020 before

Yeah but I'm baffled. I'm not rooted or manually debranded. My phone is factory sim free and I'm using stock 026 firmware why should I have this issue?
Sent from my X10i using XDA App
because some providers block some apps... and some apps are not available in some country...
Try to find your apps on WiFi... if it is not found... there a country lock...
With Market Fix, your X10 is open to all apps...

Sorry but your theory doesn't really make sense. I had apps available before reflashing. I had 026 before and still have now. All I did was reinstall.
But have tried you WiFi theory, that failed I'm afraid.

The market fix replace 2 system files, so root is needed to do that..
I'd debrand my French X10 on 014 to an sweeden 026 (for no serve me), some of french apps are not avalable after that...
With the Market FIx, i can found it again...
So, i tell you a solution, if you don't believe it, wait if some one have an other solution..
Same problem for me.
Hi,
Same problem here. Have a German device flashed to Generic Nordic. Live in sweden. Installed som swedish apps and it was all green (some of them I also had installed befor the flash). After quite some time I wanted to star over from scratch again (had so many bad apps I didn't use that I wanted to totally get rid of).
I used SE Updateservic and did a repair.
Still on Generic Nordic, bur now several apps can't be found for me any more, though I just had them. I thought that I should try to repair the device again, but at the same time 2.1 was just around the corner.
But now when 2.1 is delayed I maybe try to see if another repair can fix things.

Try www.appbrain.com, here in Canada I swear they block all the good apps. This was the only way I got some apps on my phone.

So from what I understand will this allow you to view market apps from other countries and see everything relesed instead of the market saying it can't find what your looking for?
Quite a few times iv been on appbrain and you click on an app, it goes to the market and it won't find what you just clicked even though its shown on appbrain.
Could someone clarify for me? Thanks in advance

How could you download directly from AppBrain? It takes you to market and it says that its not available
Right guys, all your suggestions were useless, but thanks for trying, and those who kept banging on about country restrictions- you were just talking nonsense as it was not the problem I was having, as I thought I had explained but noone seemed to grasp.
Anyway I believe I have worked out the solution to this problem myself.
Go to setting, applications, manage applications, market, uninstall updates(this will take you back to original factory version, and will reset market)
Don't worry as market will Automatically update itself a few hours later.

I have found this app as good as stock market: 1market mobile. I don't use market anymore because the new market is bloated and if I install the old market, vending.apk, after a reboot, the bloated market comes back.

Hi, so I have Market Enabler installed and for some reason it doesn't seem to work on the new market. Also, cf3d's 'open market' seem to have no effect either.
Is something broken? Anyone knows of a market enabler that works with the new market? Thank you!
We need a market enabler that works with 3.0.27
It will be made, its just a matter of time. Im very interested in this too, I had to rollback to the old market because of this.

I'm very interested too!
I got it!
Download the attached file.
You will find Market 2.3.6 (april 2011) and follow the instructions file.
Now I return to this version of Market which is fully compatible with Market Enabler!
Tested in a Samsung Galaxy S GT-I9000.
Yes we know it works with the old market. What we need is a market enabler for the 3.0.27 version of the market.

You should be able to get free apps. Only problems with market enabler is actually buying apps. So, roll back and reupdate or something.

The app seems to be working, it gives green mark and everything,
But when I search for the blocked apps such as google maps and most other google's inc, it doesn't find (which it was found-able when the old market)
any sollution?
I also tried the Flamingo's advice, but also no changing the search results.

Did you clear all data / cache? for Market? then emulate on boot a new provider and reboot. I am using it ever since the new market was released and it works.

Did the same on a Optimus 2x and it didn't work.
I had to uninstall the market update and MarketAccess works as advertised.
Cheers!
This thread should probably be in the general section rather than under SGS II.
I am also using the old market but instead of using an APK I simply uninstalled the update for market from 'manage applications' to go to the old market. Also had to uninstall the market updater system app using Titanium otherwise it updates automatically. Very irritating.
+1 for a solution for the new market since I have to do this every time I change ROMs (which is often). However, the new market is ugly as anything. The waste of screen real estate is appalling!

I can't find Market Access on the market...
Maybe google removed it from the market...?
I went from stock S2 rom to MIUI and so far loving it. However, and this is just a query really, the other night I downloaded GTA 3 from the market.
Now, on MIUI when I browse the market, its not there. Going on the website, it states "This app is incompatible with all of your devices." Well, yes it is.
I know I can prob download it elsewhere, but I paid for this.
Is this cos of the MIUI rom confusing google?
Also, as a bonus question, how can I get a list of all the apps I installed recently.
When I check googles market website, it lists only 3, and I've downloaded like 30.
GTA III will show not compatible with Galaxy S2, no matter what rom you used.
You can download the apk from others. I downloaded it and haven't got any problem so far (Just sometimes the game is force closed.)
For the installed app, I think it will show only the paid one. Mine doesn't show the free app in the previous installed. (Not Sure bout this)
EDIT : Clarify my word a bit
It runs....saw it on drippler

The thing was I downloaded this from the market in the first place. It must of been compatible to let me download it? Because on this market its gone. It like they pulled it.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA App
I think something is wrong, tried to download the natwest app and that's also missing from the market. This MUIU seems to be causing issues which is annoying because I love using it. Any ideas?
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA App
I don't think problem is with your Rom. I am using lightening Rom and I have the same problem with some apps I downloaded from market. Maybe its because the newer versions of those apps miss something to be compatible with galaxy S2 or maybe its a market glitch.

Its odd. They dont show up on my phone by going to the market on my pc just says it's not compatible. I guess the only way ill know is going back to my rom backup and see if it works.

Some apps are just not compatible with your phone ( GTAIII is an example, the developers haven't optimized it for SGSII ). You can still download any of those .apks elsewhere, and install them , chances are they won't work ( GTAIII does in fact work , if not by default , then by using chainfire3D). It's not, i repeat, it's NOT a bug in the market , or a bug in the ROM.
Edit: Solved it.

hey, how did you solve this? been at it for weeks no soltuion
And suddenly I can't update Go SMS Pro (v4.33) in my Black i9100 (suddenly says incompatible) while it's normal on my fiance's White i9100.
Both international version, same ROM same installed programs inside, configuration, and version.
This once happeneded to me, maybe your DPI is not compatible with market giving you the error. If its changed return it to the value of 240
Nah, I never mess with DPI settings. Its suddenly like that.
Yesterday I can see it in the market and when it requested to update I just decline it because I wasn't in wifi area and decided to update it today but it now says incompatible. Weird...
While in my fiance's i9100 it downloaded perfectly.
And the build prop is stock. Also here's my config:
XWKL1 stock odexed ROM & Siyah v.12 kernel.
Here's my build.prop: http://pastebin.de/23354
