OK I know I can't be the only one who has this issue. I'll try to Download a rom from a site like rapidshare or mega up and instead of downloading the real file it downloads the html link file.. I. Have no idea how to get around this and its driving me nuts! Any suggestions?
Probably the stock browser's fault, download the Firefox browser from the market and see if that one works.

Indeed. It seems to have fixed the problem. Thanks!
Go to the Market and search Chrome Beta if you want to try. Its only for ICS devices right now

This sounds awesome. Is it any good or is it buggy like most BETAs?

can i sync it with the Chrome Browser on my pc?
I'm using it now, it's awesome. No flash support currently though.
I'm using it now,no flash support yet, it seems fast but when i scroll down fast there is a lot of unloaded stuff or takes a sec to show. It doesn't seem as fast as stock at least to me so far well see as i play with it more. It does sync with your desktop.
I don't think it's gonna get Flash either, adobe's not developing it for mobile browsers anymore. Don't know if a 3rd party dev can do anything about that though.
Not available for Finland.

But the implementation of Flash would be Google's doing. Not Adobe's.
Right, Adobe's done updating. But mobile flash is already here. It's all about the browser taking Flash into account, as opposed to Flash supporting a browser isn't it?

Cheers for that!
When I want to download it, the market says it is incompatible?!
I'm liking it on my Prime. Very nice, similar to the desktop experience. Not sure, aside from the synching what is that different, but I haven't looked into it too much yet.

Check the requirements.
Do you have ICS?
Adobe already made an official statement and said Flash will not be in Android Chrome browser. Link to info is in the other thread on chrome browser.
Still needs a lot of work. At the moment it is slower than other browsers, doesn't allow you to change user agent and like mentioned, no flash. I was hoping they would have had addon support from the beginning too.
Pain to get to bookmarks. But I'm sure I'm missing something.

It absolutely makes no sense why non-US Prime's cannot get access to Chrome Beta. No sense whatsoever. Android 4.0 has adoption rate of 1% on the market anyway, out of this only fraction would try out Chrome Beta.
I would love to have Chrome downloaded from Market so it could get future updates without having to chase down APK's each time.
This is frustrating. But hey, at least we now have Chrome on Android.
The SwiftKey Flow beta is open now. The blog with downloads for phone and tablet can be found here, and the video overview is here.

I don't think so. The tablet version has a split keypad so you can use both thumbs but you don't really need that on a phone.

I guess that's why it's a beta.
There is a lot of good information about SwiftKey Flow on their VIP site, and you can provide feedback as well, but you need to register to use it.

Got it.. thanks for the help
be sure to swipe down to the space key after every word. I was doing this mistake and thinking hey this keyboard is crap
Love the theming options in this keyboard!
Amazing keyboard. Thought the android 4.2 keyboard was the best, then they just released this. I don't think it's really a "flow through space" kind of thing, but more like a fly through time being that you saved so much time instead of going letter for letter. Made the same mistake about not swiping down to the space bar also.
Another update
The Swiftkey Flow beta has been updated again and the current version expires on January 30 so now would be a good time to update if you plan to continue using it.
ramjet73
Just got news that my SwiftKey Flow beta expired today. Tried going to vip.swiftkey.net but no luck. Webpage loaded but nothing shows. Said fuggit and downloaded the Swype Beta. IMO, completely sucks compared to SKF.

Just installed 4.0.0.61 on a clean flash of PacMan and it's working fine. In "About SwiftKey Flow" it says "This is a time limited version which expires on Jan 30, 2013".
You might want to try uninstalling and re-installing the new apk.
Edit: Also, to access the VIP section you need to create an account and login. It will look empty until you do that.

I just re-installed over it and ir seems to be working fine now. Im pretty sure itll happen to you later on too. Unless you signed up for the VIP. How do I sign up if the page is empty?

Here is a full system.img dump from the new Nexus 5 that was released yesterday. Droid Life posted the updated Google Apps here:
http://www.droid-life.com/2013/10/3...-5-dump-search-launcher-and-more/#more-123662
I have Infected Rom on my Rez and updated some of the apps to the latest versions. Google Home (the new launcher) works great. The new Hangouts is now also your SMS app. Gmail, Google Keyboard (with built in emoji plugin), and Google Play Services also work. Google Gallery FC on me, and the new Camera app works, but the new feature (don't know what it is called) FC'ed when I clicked on it. Camera settings is set for 8m pixels, but when viewed in the old Gallery, the pics weren't full size. The pic quality was great, though.
Throughout the day and weekend, REV3NT3CH and I will be testing more new .apk's and will keep you all informed. This system.img dump also includes the build.prop and the boot.img. We are gonna do our best to get either the Nexus 5 system ported over to the Rez, or build straight from AOSP source.
If any other Devs would like in on this, then please PM either REV3NT3CH or myself, and we can go from there.
I am NOT a Dev myself, still learning a few things, but know enough to do what we need to do. Any questions then feel free to ask, and if this thread is in the wrong section then please let me know, or move it to the right section.
Here is the link to the full system dump:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/hty7m61cgy16bcq/Nexus 5 dump.zip
Hope this can help get us started for the Rez.
EDIT: My dropbox links are generating too much traffic. Uploading to Mediafire now. Dropbox links are still working currently, though. Once uploaded to mediafire, I will put the links up. Thanks all!
ANOTHER EDIT: Here is the mediafire link for the system dump and the apps.

Xda is generally quieter during 9-5 on the east coast.
If you guys can port this to the Rezound, that would be awesome. I've got a port of 4.3.1 running on my Rezound and it runs pretty well. I'm not aware of any inherent reason KitKat can't run (except to the extent that Wallet requires NFC) on Rezound hardware.
REV3NT3CH says he is now syncing the repo for 4.4. We will know soon. Would you like to be a tester, also?

I tried most of these on tachyon 1.2, just quick apk install no real diagnostics. I found the new Google search seems to close right after opening (no fc just closes).
The launcher seems to work but relies on the search piece which generates errors, it kinda works with both installed, but generally needs a Dev to investigate for our devices.
Email app seems to work, but no exchange services tie to it, compared to my other native email app they appear to point to different setting locations.
Clock wouldn't install
Keyboard, Gmail, hangouts, and keep all seem to be fine. Some of the wallpapers are pretty sweet too

Thanks for the info. I haven't had a chance to test out all the apps. You have to install Google Play Services, Google Search, and Google Home to get the launcher to work properly. Voice search part does FC though, but that is the only issue I have found. I installed Google Now to go with it all, and it is sweet, but Voice Search FC's. I think Email and a few others are gonna have to rely on the new services.jar to get it all working properly. Anyone who knows how to read code better than me hopefully will figure it out. I will post more apps and what is working later on today, hopefully.
Try installing Exchange2Google.apk to get the Exchange to work in the new Email.apk.

Giving some of these apps a try on a clean install of carbon.
I can't get chrome or drive working.
They FC immediately. I also tried to install the dialer and framework but package is invalid.
I installed launcher with Google home, prebuilt, and velvet. I haven't tried search yet but am going to do the library tip above.
Thanks for posting the dump. I can't wait until the devs tailor it to the Rez.
Google search works the the .so tip. But the "OK Google" doesn't.
I'd be interested in testing as well.

Because it's a beta feature that Facebook hasn't chosen to make available yet. It's technically there but not activated. This tutorial helps you to activate it manually if you want.
I don't see Facebook making a zip for you to flash
Or anyone making one just for a simple modification like this.

Unfortunately, no. Facebook announced only the dark mode on Facebook Messenger app. I tried to find ways to have dark mode for Facebook. I found substratum few days ago and I though it was gonna work but no. Facebook app updates every week and they deliberately scrambles the codes so that it cannot be tampered. Devs and for the theme makers find this difficult because it is frustrating and totally a waste of time. Facebook should add dark mode too. Although, substratum is good for making layouts and templates for other apps like Instagram, Google app, Google Maps, YouTube, etc., especially changing an app's theme (from stock theme to dark theme) it depends on what theme package you've installed because some packages lacks other apps. I totally recommend to use substratum. Here, I have some screenshots.
