morning all
Rooted my Galaxay i9100 yesterday, and im having the Force Close program problem (Orange net work) , so looked at through the forum to reistall the origainal firmware, as most user are doing.
Question is do i need to reset custom binary counter to reinstall the original firmware?? And do i need to use SuperOneClick to re root my phone?
PLUS i may have forgot original firmware name .... could of been kda ,but i did a update before i flashed it ..... :/
I also get the yellow warning triangle on boot up...

If you want to downgrade it, I would look at flashing KE1 with Odin. Have a look in the android development forum.
It was my understanding that flashing official roms does not increase the counter, but flashing anything else does. So flashing the custom kernel will increase the counter. You can look at getting yourself a jig to reset it.
As for rerooting, yes, you'll need to do that again after flashing down to KE1.
Or you can just stick with it, I've heard it doesn't actually prevent functionality, it's just annoying. I'd anticipate a KE3 soon to fix the problem.
Personally if on Orange i would wait for the upgrade due KE3 .
Original firmware Orange branded phone is warranted by seller .
Stock firmware via Odin and Samfirmware is stock Samsung firmware . Seller may reject this under warranty but Samsung cover it .
Kies will probably not update requires Odin and Samfirmware for updates .
Rooting breaks your warranty full stop and requires removing before warranty claims .

One thing i have noticed so far after installing so many custom firmware be it cwm or whatever. The sad thing about it is for example where i work , whenever i visit the toilet or basement automatically it shows network failure which happens to stock firmware aswell. But with stock firmware the network comes on automatically . But with the custom firmware i have to reboot the phone and do everything manually which is very annoying. I do credit your great works i mean the developers . but is it possible to find a solution to this because am always in love with installing the custom firmware with so many goodies.
That reads as if you have no CSC or the wrong CSC nothing to do with Custom firmware as it does not usually incorporate a CSC .

thanks for your reply sorry for my noob questions.
so if i flashed stock firmware such as XWKI8 would this debrand my device?
and if i did would i need to wipe data etc before i did so
I have a 3uk gs2, All I did was download the CF-Root for my current firmware, flashed it via Odin (full details in CF-Root thread), then downloaded the KI4 kitchen rom, did a factory reset, then flashed the kitchen rom via CWM (Full guide in Rom Kitchen thread)... job done and no more Three rubbish on my phone
My cousin also got a 3uk gs2, did exactly the same for his phone too...
cool thanks for the info I will try that later on with the k18, much appre
