I have my phone by my bed, and now I have this cool home made dock so i can use my phone as an alarm clock/night clock whilst charging.
BUT THAT ORANGE/GREEN LIGHT IS BUGGING ME
Yes I have searched both here and google to no avail.
However i did come across this script but its only for 2.1
Code:
#! /system/bin/sh
echo 0 > /sys/class/leds/lv5219lg:rgb1:red/brightness
echo 0 > /sys/class/leds/lv5219lg:rgb1:green/brightness
echo 0 > /sys/class/leds/lv5219lg:rgb1:blue/brightness
echo 0 > /sys/class/leds/lv5219lg:sled/brightness

chmod 444 /sys/class/leds/lv5219lg:rgb1:blue/brightness
chmod 444 /sys/class/leds/lv5219lg:sled/brightness
Currently using GingerDX v17 on my x10 mini pro with stock kernel cool:Thanks devs you rock)
Any help with this would be appreciated
P.S.
I could just put some bluetack or tape over the LED but that is just silly, please don't make a suggestion like that

Hey bro, under cyanogen settings, gingerDX setting there should be a setting called quiet hours, try enable that, Ive never tried it so i don't know if it works for the led while charging, or if it just stops the led flashing when a txt shows up.
BTW i wanted to ask, whats the dock you got, i wouldn't mind getting one for my mini pro?
Hope i helped, good-luck.
Cheers,
Evil.
The gingerdx version disables LED, but its buggy and disables it permamently even outside the specified times. The cyanogen version only disables sounds/vibrations but doesnt dim the LED even if the option is ticked, it seems as though you cant win I just resort to placing my phone face down so I cant see it.
Sent from my U20i using Tapatalk
Cheers guys ill try that out.
I was kinda hoping that there would be some kind of script or app or even modifying some system files, however I do find the notifications handy so i think that there might be one of the major issues.

As I said its a home made dock so you wont be able to buy it anywhere except from me lol, when I've finished touching it up (and can post links) ill throw up some pics along with my dual battery mod.
To be honest I'm not actually sure if you can get a dock for the mini pro although I haven't looked so I'm probably wrong.

Yeah I have been doing that for sometime now but it seems to defeat the purpose of having a dock.
Oh right home made lol, thats cool, didnt read the home made part. I might have a look around for one. Goodluck finding what you need. Hopefully the devs of gingerdx and other roms will be able to figure something out for us. I might also have a look into it and see if i can figure it out, using my extremely limited knowledge .
@obsidian, Right, cheers for that info bro, didnt realize that it was buggy.

Hello! I've recently read an article on Android Police that mentions an app called LEDs Hack that supposedly disables the LED notification system. I haven't tested it and don't know if it will work.

I was using GingerDX v17 with stock kernel, tried all of the phones listed in the app however I didn't reboot each and every time.
I think it depends on how it disables the LED as all phones are different. I have a feeling that this LED is going to be a hard/weird one to turn off
Sent from my Mind via Telepathy
I saw in the market that the developper included this app into a new paid one called Bedside (Night Clock) with call monitoring features and in the description he mentions:
** 2nd NOTICE: Some devices do not support turning off the button LEDs. Bedside uses official APIs to do this and if your device does not turn off the LEDs when opening Bedside blame the manufacturer and/or the ROM you are using. (Devices include: Galaxy S phones, Nexus S, some Motorola devices, etc) **
I guess our phone must be one of those.
Ah I see, I didn't realise he intergrated it into another app, I guess Ill have to try that one out as well.
And yeah I wouldn't be at all surprised if the mini pro isn't supported, or if it isn't even possible. Although surely a custom kernel could help with a bit developing and modding... damn I wish I was an android expert sometimes lol.

Guys, I've tried the LEDs Hack app version you have posted and it is working for me. I am running stock ron on 2.1.1.A.0.6 build with the latest busybox installed from the market. I installed the app and then rebooted the phone. In the app I chose the Sprint HTC Hero (Android 2.2) phone model and then option LEDs off.

If it turns out it works on your phone, I think the new app would be what you are looking for, because you can choose what calls and notifications get through normally.

Well if its working on the stock rom then I guess its a problem with the custom roms, or maybe just the fact that the custom rom i tried was gingerbread, which means ill have to try a froyo rom, Froyobread to be precise. I cant even remember the last time i used the stock rom lol.

My thoughts exactly, but I guess a little annoying led isn't important to some people, personally I thought it would be a reasonably easy fix or workaround but I guess nothing worth doing is easy.

He posted it late last night on twitter
Has anyone flashed this rom? I'm not too interested in ports on my Slide, but I'd like to hear the thoughts of people who have installed this.
Personally, I'm sticking with SlideM until CM5/6 arrives for the Slide.
i flashed it.....It stalls, big time for me...and before anyone goes"did you wipe(lol)" yes I did...ohh and did the mount system to but to no avail still stalls and freezes!
But it is fast but just freezes too much...went back to slide m
on another note, which do you guys like better SlideM or the Legend rom?
Did you run your log cat to see that it was indeed frozen
Remember Custom ROMS can take up to 15 minutes to flash in some cases, although on this phone I dont think it will ever be that high.
I thought mine was frozen but it turned out it just needed 7 minutes or so to load.
The logcat looked plenty busy
Thanks to kingofyo1 for teaching me how to check if the phone actually is frozen
anyways ill be sticking to the SLIDEM rom till someone builds a good kernal to overclock or a froyo rom or CM rom.
Mine kept freezing too .. But I didn't check my logcat..
Been loving legend... Except for no genius button...
Sent from my T-Mobile myTouch 3G Slide using XDA App
well i flashed it, and im at work, so cant logcat.. and i tried installing setcpu, because the kernel looked slightly different, i was thinking he may have implemented the OC kernel(hopes and dreams ) and i got a lock. restarted and then tried setcpu again, and locks still there >.< so i am guessing either superuser is messed up or something, will try a different root program and see if possibly its the program or the superuser.. overall its a good looking rom, check back on my slide bible for my scores if interested
I just clocked it. 3 minutes 14 seconds
After about 51 seconds you will get the little heropetit image. than an HTC for the remaining time.
Just relax and go away from the phone for a few minutes. I also filmed this.
So yea....i used it like i said...and im already back on using SlideM
BTW i changed a tire while this was loading and was still stuck after multiple boots.
OMFG 3.8 LINPACK!!! and second time is 3.3, 3rd is 3.5 4th is 4!!! 5th -8 is 4.1
can you say quickest slide rom to date??

working on it... no such luck yet, i'll post if i can get it working :/
newest ver of setcpu makes device unresponsive >.< never get a su request either on it >.>
Eugene has been working on a kernal to let us overclock. I saw some pics from him posted some where last night.
the superuser.apk is out of whack.. replacing it now and we will see what happens guys. wish me luck? lol
EDIT: cant seem to drop the stock su, dont have adb at this time with me so i cant do it that way either.. anyone else having troubles with su perms?
Tried it again and it boots.....but then just freezes.....i tried to uninstall superuser and wouldnt but installed setcpu.apk and opened her up and now my phone is stuck/frozen/locked up.....
Will be staying on SlideM till these issues are resolved
my biggest issue is the trackpad is messed up,
up=right
down=left
left=up
right=down
there are also some graphical issues that aren't incredibly bothersome, but stuff is just a little offcenter in landscape
if someone is a member of the community where eugene's original post is hosted, would you mind copying the images he attached over here?

I can not find code: "persist.ril.uart.flowctrl=1"
Tried Root Explorer and Rom Toolbox and neither showed this. I am running Joker's 1.4 kernal not sure if that could possibly make any difference???
what rom cm doesn't have it think its only stock or stock based I'm on rocko and its there also just did the file swap can't say it helped yet but no problems with it so far don't think in going to try the unthrottle mod though looks terribly risky of having to sbf the line in my prop is immediately after cdma ril........

Currently running CM7.2 and the code literally isn't there at all which leads me to believe that you could just delete the entire thing and it would either help or hurt your speed on Sprint's network.

idk thread says if you put a 0 you lose internet and zep was looking into it saying it can only be turned on or off not adjusted but then again said maybe it could be seems like it needs more research/testing but hell as horrible as sprint network in my areas is especially without 4g and flakey wifi anything that can help im trying
so i have been running this for a full day now and can say both mods seemed to have improved my stability and speed of internet saying this because in my are the 3gs are more like no gs and withe mod1 and 2 in place ive gotten a very reliable connection and much improved ( not to the point of worth shouting about but ) i a using null settings on mod 1 just leaving it blank and ive done the file swap in the second mod i want to try the unthrottle bit but im no dev and dont want to play with it not knowing exactly what it could do to my magnificent mopho. gl folks hope this works for you guys as well as it "appears" to be for me

using rocko's unlocked rom with it nulled out (left it blank) maybe placebo but feels like its better so far as adding it to cm i think cm already removes the flow control im not 100% on that but if you wanna try it make sure you nandroid and or put a .bak after your prop so you can fix if something goes awry.

As far as i know, this problem is present in any other CM7 based ROM out there it should be fixed in the next update but i can't work on my streak because of my nice wallpaper (smashed screen).
The only way around this is to use a different ROM like DSC or to fix it yourself
Maybe in a few months i will manage to get the money to buy a new screen, untill then enjoy the ROM as it is

Well, i'm not sure if this fix will work as it says is for ROM's that use aries libaudio, but as i can't test it i made a flashable zip with the libaudio extracted from the the link provided by you.
Just flash, reboot, test, provide feedback, if it works it will be implemented in the next version
Hope this helps/works
I flashed this zip. It mutes the phone entirely without even touching mute button. Can you please look into this and modify the file to mute only when mute button is pressed. Also, I observe some lag after flashing this zip

Hey,
I am also looking for a solution since long time!
( I had this problem on DSC as well! )
Anyway - just a suggestive work around till we get a working solution zip:
Use a long "headphone"
( I have some creative ones - which are like really 1.5 mtr length wired ones )
Plug them in - and you can listen but- keep the phone in such way that mic is blocked ( I use a rubber band with foam near the mic! )

P.S. - I DO the exact same thing as you do! TElecons from home / while travelling to home!! and hence "need" the Mute!
P.P.S. - Now this is not made up - but, I am looking to relocate to Mumbai as well! REAL soon! lol!

Plug them in - and you can listen but- keep the phone in such way that mic is blocked ( I use a rubber band with foam near the mic! )

Will try to find a fix as soon as i can, but i don't really know where to start as i can't test
Anyways, thanks for the feedback
Custom roms are definitely making streak feature rich and a treat to use. However one of the primary use of the device, like mute during a conversation needs urgent solution.
I genuinely hope it will be solved soon, and till then will continue with juggard ways
PS: I wasn't aware that GB custom rom had a mute issue. After a telecon one of the participant told me that they were hearing something in between the discussion which they should hadn't!

I'm trying to figure where to look for a fix... If i find somethin, i will post it here for testing
From what I have found, there is a known fix for it by modifying the libaudio.so file. I an looking for a way to compile that file for the streak.

That should be great, i'm going to give a look to libaudio.so, maybe something good will come from here and we can make a stable and fully functional GB that can be used as a main ROM with the best experience, untill ICS will have some progress...
Let me know if I can help in any way.

The below is a method brunes came up with:
brunes_007 said:
Having bought one of these from China, and having very little to noting written on this device so far, I had to figure a bunch of this out myself... so I thought I should share my findings with the community.
If you order one of these from China, you will find that it does not have the Google apps and utilities on it. So to get them on, first you will have to root it.
The first method I tried was via the recovery mode, which I determined you access by holding volume up + power until it reboots into it. However, you will find unfortunately that the recovery mode on this device is locked and it will only flash signed updates, so that method is out.
I tried a bunch more methods and exploits until I finally found one that worked - that was this Root_with_restore method on XDA. Follow the instructions in this thread and you will have rooted your device.
Now that my device was rooted, the next problem was how to install the Google apps. I downloaded the latest ICS apps from goo.im - but remember, you can not flash these. I tried installing ROM manager from the market and using that to flash CWM recovery, but that didn't work. What DID work, and what I ended up doing, was simply unzipping the gapps.zip onto my MIcro SD card, then (as root on the phone), copying the entire contents of the "system" folder from that SD card over the /system directory on the phone. After I did this, and rebooted, I now had all of the Google apps working!
I was able to add my account and install all needed apps from the market to make this phone really shine.
My next goal is to figure out how to get CWM working on this phone. I am doing a bunch of reading on the topic and might have something to report later this week.

Hi Guys,
Can anyone please point me in the right direction on steps to root and install the Google applications (Play Store, Google Contact Sync, etc.) on my Huawei U9510e (Ascend D1 Quad XL)?
I just had a family friend bring me one over from China today and obviously it didn't come with any of the Google applications. I was able to find the Gmail apk online along with the GoogleLoginService and the GoogleServicesFramework apk. Everything installed fine, but I am still unable to sync contacts over from Gmail, and occasionally I will get an error saying that GoogleServicesFramework has crashed.
Any insight pointing me to the right direction is greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Hey brunes, amazing work, I've also found a easier way to root it and flash on google applications with simple UI for newbies like me, I will update my original post to put that in, and put yours in too if you don't mind?
And for sure, I think as soon as this phone receives a global launch it will be pretty popular too, seeing how it's probably the only quadcore pentaband umts phone available on the market right now

No problem, I'll do the translation and post it up by tonight
But just remember that it's still built on a beta rom release from EMUI so it may be unstable, even though I haven't experienced anything (ie. the phone auto restarting), I can't guarantee for you guys :S
Amazing phone for the price
I just got mine 2 hours ago. My friends are all HTC fanboy so they told me to stay away from Huawei but I was just thinking to try it out and then return it but I think i am gonna keep it and sell my GNex. It is quite an amazing pone for such a little price. although the phone might look bit thick but the thickest part of GNex is actually slightly thicker than the D1. I just wish there are more dev support.
I find the camera app that came with it really annoying since you cant turn the sound off... also if it had 2Gb of ram this would be the perfect phone for me!
Anyways anyone else have any news on update to 4.1.2? Or is there other site/ forum with more support?

Beta is fine. Flashed my previous Samsung Captivate numerous times (various Cyanogenmod releases), until settling at SlimBean. Android = always a work in progress.
Regarding the D1, anyone notice slight choppiness when scrolling through the app drawer and such? I'm using Holo Launcher (which I used on the Captivate).
I find that changing the power saving setting to High Performance seems to have mitigated this somewhat. I suspect it might be a small issue with how the stock governor is handling transitions in CPU speed.

For sure about 2GB ram, and support is coming, supposedly Huawei will fully unlock the bootloader by late next week.
I get all my information from bbs dot anzhi dot com, it's a Chinese forum and that is where I found all of my information from. You'll probably have to wait a while longer for the office update to Jelly Bean from Huawei's EmotionUI, but I will be posting the guide on how to flash into their beta release later tonight.

Haha that's true.
I noticed it when I just open the app drawer, I'm using Holo Launcher HD, and it'll be smooth out after opening it for a second or so. I haven't noticed this problem when I was using the ADW or stock Launcher though, so the probably poor ram management from Holo.

Testing Apex Launcher (my go-to launcher before) now. Seems smoother!
I Tested with NOVA launcher PRIME and I say the transition is pretty fast but not smooth. (tested it on performance mode) But i gotta say the 3D unlock screen works perfectly smooth. Do you guys think it might be the problem with 4.0.4 ICS and not the device? My GNex runs on 4.1.2 + some performance tweak and it looks fine.

I had a feeling that it was because of the HOLO launcher too bad because HOLO launcher gives the most "Stock" feeling

Double post, need to accumulate a couple more posts so I can start posting links, but I have started to draft the instructions
I'm not sure, because the 3D Home was laggy to me compared to the 2D Home, and I didn't try NOVA, so I couldn't comment, but isn't it similar to APEX and ADW? If it is, then it should be pretty snappy :S
Edit: Tutorial is up!
Indeed it is snappy but not as buttery smooth as 4.1 I feel.
Here is a good review androidauthority
Thanks for your tutorial!
Hey I'm just wondering if anyone got a case for this phone and can you please give a short review of it. I m looking for a case that replace the back cover but wraps around to the front. I had a case like that for my atrix 4G back. I just don't want to make it any chunkier. But if you think it feels fine then I might consider putting on a case. Thanks

I'm using this case right now. I love the feeling of the back, it's really similar to the original backing of the phone's battery cover, and it's not too bulky. I'll get a couple of pictures of it tonight so you can get a sense how much wider it is compared to holding the phone without a case
Newbie Hiere
Hi Sir/s,
I recently bought a Huawei U9510e phone from China and i came upon your posts re the "rooting".
I already rooted my phone (thanks a lot to you!), but now my problem is how to install the google play.
I saw one update from Huawei but it is in ZIP file. Here are my questions:
1. How will i install the update to my phone? Do i need to download it from a PC first then install it in the phone or do i need to download in directly to the phone?
2. How to deal with those ZIP files and where to save them to make them work? For example, the attachment "huawei_usb.zip". I downloaded it but i didn't know whats next after that. How can i integrate it in my phone? Or if its a driver, how can i integrate it with my PC?
Kindly help by providing step by step procedures re my question since im still new at these things.
I apologize for the stupid questions but i don't really have any idea about those. Hope you can help me.
Thanks,
Androidneophyte
So i took the APK from this thread and made it work for our device. this will only work on AOSP roms that have a CM10.1 base. If you would like to try it, go ahead and flash in recovery. Please have a nandroid just in case, each phone is different and although it works for some it might not work for all.
THIS WILL NOT FIX ANY EXISTING PROBLEMS THAT THE CAMERA HAS, ITS JUST THE NEW UI .
NEW GE 4.2.2 camera Flash in recovery.
OLD CM10.1 camera Flash in recovery.
I will try my best to help anyone out that needs it. feel free to comment here or PM me. :victory:

i think i can get photosphere working if you would like to try it. i did it for the rezound before. it requires a 3lib files to turn it on. ^_^
Edit:
going to be a little harder than i thought. i can get it to turn on. but when i move the phone around it FC. Going to have to do a log cat and figure what is what.
Edit2:
Got the full dump, even better to work with.

yeah i kinda of figured as much when the FC was calling for it but i was able to use the tilt sensor to do it. But the phone now crashes when stitching the photos.
im trying to get help on it now but progress has been slow, just moved into a new house and still setting everything up.
so what's the new ui look like - can some post / link a screen shot? is this it....

after reading the original thread it seems safe to install this as it will not overwrite the stock camera app / gallery. can anyone confirm that on our phone?
thanks for the work to to port this over for our use!!!

You should do a "Lol" or something at the end of your post cause at this point you sound like a pushy obnoxious ass. He don't owe you anything so watch how you post especially when inquiring about ETA's from any Android developer who does this for free, fun and on their own time for the community
