[Q] high FPS hack? - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I was wondering if it would be possible to record video at a higher frame rate than the current 30?
i know it will be barely possible at 1080p because of the enormous amount of data to be handled.
But what about 720p or 480p?
Is there a possibility that the camera sensor can capture more than 30FPS at a lower quality/resolution?

Wondering if someone already manage to hack the camera for high FPS recording, since Siyah kernel has lift the FPS limit from 30 to 120.

X10 - HD video recording @ 26fps or more?

Hello @ all,
this is my first topic here, I hope it's in the right subforum.
As you maybe know the HD video recording of the X10 is with a variable framerate, which isn't very good, because sometimes the videos aren't fluently.
I took a look at the framerate with MediaInfo and the maximum framerate are alomost 39 fps.
So my question is:
Is there any possibility to disable the variable framerate and set it to a stable framerate with 26 or 30fps?
I think the videos would look much smoother with that.
This belongs in Q&A!
(And I don't think so)
i don't know how you got 39fps, max i say was 26 or similar, anyway, there's nothing you can do about it, sorry
If your outside, put it to sport mode and put the camera to something bright so it adjusts. This will make the framers go up and when you bring it away from let's say if you pointed it at the sun the framerates will stay high. If your indoors put it to party mode and bring it close to a lamp to make the fps go up and it will stay like that when you start recording. You just have to trick the camera. Same with if you put the picture mode to macro then switch to video and start recording you will now be able to get macro while shooting video

@ CompactDstrxion:
Sorry
@ Astral07:
It has a variable framerate. You can take a look at the lowest and highest framerate and the highest framerate I got are alomost 39 fps. But because of the variable framerate the video has 22-24 fps at the end.
@ Chillaxed:
Thanks. I'll try that.
I took a HD video in sport mode today from a flame of a gas burner in school.
Some info of the video:
Nominal bit rate : 6 000 Kbps
Width : 1 280 Pixel
Height : 720 Pixel
Display aspect ratio : 16:9
Frame rate mode : variabel
Frame rate : 22,931 FPS
Minimum frame rate : 5,952 FPS
Maximum frame rate : 100,000 FPS
Resolution : 8 bits
Scan type : progressiv
Bits/(Pixel*Frame) : 0.287
If we could disable the variable framerate it would rock...
I've been comparing all the shooting modes and the Sport mode seems to have the most stable framerate hovering around 24fps all times. It also doesn't suffer from motion blur nearly as much as the other shooting modes. The downside is that you need pretty good lighting because it doesn't seem to adjust the exposure automatically. But it's _smooth_ as hell.
Edit-
Sorry, it does adjust the exposure. It just isn't as aggressive as the other modes.

[Q] Camera FPS

I know the camera records 1080p at 30fps, but I was wondering if it records 720p at a higher frame rate such as 60fps? I have been searching but can't find an answer anywhere so hopefully someone with the phone can enlighten me!
Already set on getting this awesome phone next week, but recording at 60fps will be the icing on the cake, cheers!
actually if any phone today can do its the sgs2.. now all we need is some modding..

[Q] SGS2 continuous autofocus ONLY in 1080p recording?

Is the continuous autofocus in video recording for SGS2 ONLY works in 1080p?
I know its impressive to be able to record in 1080p with continuous autofocus,
but for me, 720x480 is sufficient
if i set the resolution lower than 1080p, the camera doesn't auto focus any more in video recording.
Am i the only one facing this problem?
is my unit defected or with software problem?
Please let me know whether you guys able to get video focus in lower resolutions.
Thanks!!
for me its more less the same..the autofocus is there but u cant notice it that much...i think lower res means that the camera doesnt need to focus 2 much on details less pix less focus correct me if i am wrong
but yeh u can feel it a lot more with 1080p
Hello hunteres,
Thanks for replying
I'm very sure there is no autofocus in the lower resolution,
start video recording outside my house (very far, focus at infinite)
put a book infront of cam, about 10inch away (focus change to macro, words on book become clear.
(only works in 1080, doesn work in 480)
Its weird that the 1.2GHz dual core able to record at 1080p but not 480p

[Q] Random fps settings when recording (HD) video

Hi all,
I´m running a standard S2 with latest LP7 ICS Stock-Firmware.
recently I discovered a very odd thing about the S2´s video recording. While the general abillities are quite good, it seems the device is recording every video with a random fps rate ... especially when recording 720p or 1080p ... i recorded 4 sniplets in a row and EVERY one slightly differs in frame rate ... 29.384 fps, 29,031 fps, 29,782 pfs ... this sucks the big hairy meatball folks! How am i supposed to cut and edit those to one clip without re-rendering all to one steady frame rate?
Also tried LG Camera pro but same problem, despite fixing the frame rate to exactly 30 fps. Anyone hading the same problem? or even better - having a solution to fix this?
Thanks!
K.
Use a good transcoding software.
Anyone?

How can we increase bit rate of images and video recording

I just saw that it is so easy on lg g3
Even with a single piece of xml change they enable 60 FPS @ 1080p resolution
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2778570
Do such things exists on xperia z2 too ?
I would like to improve bitrate quality at both images and videos
I don't care heat, batter consumption or memory storage consumption
