Set the CPU to it's lowest setting when not in use then you'll be fine. If u always have it overclocked then the of course the battery will drain

Too bad. So sad. JKS.
Um, try another ROM? I'm using J020b and really, it is not as good as some 2.2 ROMs, for eg. wolfbreak's ROM. Its missing half the build.prop tweaks.
I am facing the same problem
even with setting the scrren-off profile in the SetCPU 245 max and min
never seen my phone going into deep sleep status
Hi, this is a issue know and now J work to fix this, like him said...

Dude! 2.3.4 only just leaked! You'll need to wait a little while longer.
Anyways I'm seeing very little drops at the moment, but this always depends of what is running.

A fully charged battery will not drop that quickly in two hours something is wrong .
Reflash the firmware or wait for release of finished 2.3.4 as i understand this is only a test release .

Please check your battery usage info in the settings. There is a very well known bug related to Wifi Sharing eating your battery, even if you did not enable Wifi Sharing.
If your phone gets hot, and battery drains very quickly (in 1-2 hours), this is most probably related to the Wifi Sharing bug.
You can freeze wifi sharing if you have a rooted device, or you will need to check your battery usage info from time to time(mostly when you feel your phone becomes hot even when it stays in your pocket) and force stop Wifi sharing if it starts to show up.
Hope this helps
If this is not the case with you, I do not have a clue

Hy all. Having problems with superuser after flashing darky's rom xxkg1. I don't have enough posts to post it in the dev section so I do it here. I get a FC when try to acces superuser. Do you know what the problem could be? I also reflashed supercore kernel and yet nothing. Thank you in advance.
L.E.: fixed that..just uninstall the program, restart, and install it again . Don't have to be too wise ). Now, another prob (damn I'm stupid): when I dial e.g. *#9999# won't get anything. Why is this? ty again

This is the "Question & Answers" section and is the correct place for this thread. The Development forum is for people releasing development work and should not be used to ask questions. The reason you can't post in there till you have 10 posts is in the hope that you'll understand what the forums are for by the time you can post in there.
When you can, please don't post questions in the development forum.
Thanks, and good luck with your problems

Was just an example. If I dial any mmi code, will get a message like: "mmi code invalid or inserted wrong".
Am I right that the new custom 2.3.4 ROM (Villain, Darky...) are not using a 2.3.4 Kernel only the 2.3.4 firmware and radio? So this might not improve battery life significantly since it is still an old Kernel.
The battery drain bug could therefore only be solved with a 2.3.4 Kernel.
I am new to Android, so are my assumptions right?

I was using LiteningRom for a couple of weeks and when I saw 2.3.4, I tried to update ROM asap. But I couldn't even flash it with Odin as the whole process freezes in the middle...
Few hours later, I achieved installing a 2.3.4 ROM (Infusion) and I'm on it since yesterday. As far as I can see, there's absolutely nothing better in battery management : AOS is still in top of battery usage after moderate usage.
With my SGS, 2.3.4 had solved battery drain, it seems with SGSII it's not the same. But as Schindler33 said, maybe it's because of the kernel.
Wait for the official firmware to come out over kiss and then we can all see if battery life is improved.
Yep, it seems the leaked version is really NOT a final one ^_^
Hope the final will solve this battery drain

[Q] The phone never enters Deep Sleep

Hi guys,
I've just found out that my phone never goes to "sleep|". i installed CPU SPY and saw that it is always at 200MHZ state and never uses the deep sleep mode. Did it happen to any of you? Know how to solve it?
By the way, I am using Litning 6.1 with speedmod 29..
Thanks for the help
If it's not entering deep sleep mode then the Awake bar in battery usage graph will stay blue. I don't believe that's happening for you.
Regards.

It's awake most of the time.. Strange I know
Weird. Maybe you've something running on background continuously! Try install Better Battery Stats and see under Partial Wakelocks.
Regards.
Tried a couple of kernels, it seems that it has something to do with it. Now on Ninphetamine 2.1.2 and it seems that the phone is finally sleeping
With other two kernels I tried, it didn't sleep at all.
Thanks for the help!

Hm, Kernel could be an issue.
Yes, hardcore , why, you too?

It's weird, I thought that all the latest kernels are supposed to get the phone sleeping most of the time. Anyway it is a highly recommended app, the SPY CPU..
And no, Liverpool in blood, though it was some really ass kicking you did on Sunday

[Q] suspend / events in betterbatterystats?

hi i have had my sgs2 since may when it came out and have been updating with odin everytime a new FW comes out thanks to Intratech who does a great job
getting to know more and more about android thanks to all the great peeps on the forum!! i in last few days have got betterbatterystats app and have a question at the top of the list it has suspend and events process with a red line in bar graph?? does this mean these are drainin my battery??
with cpuspy if i exit all apps and lock my phone and awake after 5-10 mins i get about 90% deep sleep?
someone help me with my battery life and advise is this good?
thanks to anyone that can help me
Hey I'm no expert but see the thread about what the Android OS usage is http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1290020
thanks buts that all a little too technical for me!!
If you can't bother to read the thread, then your options are either:
1) just ignore it, because nobody really knows why suspend and events are so high, and there is not much you can do about it; or
2) change your kernel to SiyahKernel, then suspend and events will not show up in the stats, but it will probably not make any difference in your actual battery life.
its not that i cant b bothered i have spent time reading that thread i just dont understand everything everyone is talking about all the time sorry for being abit of a noob mate
i am running speedmods kernal k11 like yourself which i think is probs performing same as siyah kernal not much diff i didnt think in the two..getin decent battery life i just want to try and understand but yes from what people are saying suspend and events process are part of it going into deep sleep or something like that! anyways thanks for your input
i am running stock FW have never realy tried roms maybe this is something i will try in the future or just wait for ICS and see what thats like

[A] Solutions for bad battery life (common wakelock fixes) :)

After experiencing extremely bad battery life and searching everywhere around the web for answers i have found a solution for wakelock problems that solved all my battery woes.
Thanks goes to the people that originally found these fixes.
This step stops the AudioOut_1 partial wakelock bug from keeping device in awake mode:
0.go to settings > sound and turn off touch sounds and screen lock sounds
These steps stop the kernel wakelock 100% problem:
1.turn on aeroplane mode
2.turn off device
3.take out battery for 10 seconds
4.turn on device
5.wait for everything to load
6.turn off aeroplane mode

Hi!
Can you describe, please, how did you find that this exactly steps (and no other) solved your battery life problems?
Thanks.

Good to know. Thanks

For starters,I tried everything else I could and this is the only thing that helped.
I found the fixes all around different forums for GS2,GNote and GNexus.
I tried it for myself yesterday and my battery life has doubled.
Install BetterBatteryStats from the thread on XDA and you can see if you have these wakelock problems, look under Partial Wakelock and Kernel Wakelock.
I just wanted to share these dead simple steps to spare some people from the agony that is 7h battery life :banghead:

Nice info. Might come in handy someday. Thanks for sharing.
sent from my fingers to your face.
there is another trick to disable apps sync or the famous ! CALENDAR sync wake ups go in "account and sync'' and click on your account and uncheck what you want to stop sync!
for facebook wake ups the only thing I found is freezing it with titanium and make sure your disconnected from it every time you quit this app
HOP FOR A FIX FROM FACEBOOK SOON !
for the rest I don't think we can make something unless sammy release the source and finally an official ICS !

I asked how did you find those steps because in my old days of Motorola Motoronga MotoFAIL Milestone (TM) there were a bunch of Black Magic Recipes like this in order to save battery and none of them worked, unsurprisingly, of course.
Please, don't get me wrong, I'm not here to troll you or your thread, but just to know how people find these "steps".
Anyway, very interesting.
Thanks.
Regards.
These fixes will help your battery only if you have wakelock problems, they don't do anything otherwise.
I also resent black magic recipes. Some time ago I read that many common battery saving apps and tips don't help the battery, sometimes even causing more battery drain. It was an independent research where they regularly tested the battery itself with ampermeters.

usually turning off touch sounds and screen lock sounds should solve the "AudioOut_1" problem, at least it worked for me

You neet to find out which wakelock are draining your battery when the screen is off before you trying out some "Black Magic Recipes".For instance ,if you installed some instant message app which keeps pulling something from the server and prevent your phone from going to deep sleep, disabling sound will not help you get better battery life.

I had issues with reboots and poor battery life after upgrade. I went back to gingerbread and done factory reset. Once booted I immediately went to kies and upgraded to uk ics. I have no issues now with reboots or battery. Very happy now and speed is great. Remember to factory reset in gingerbread and not ics. Just reinstall apps from the play store after.

Thanks!! It worked for me when my Galaxy Note was running ICS and now again when I have downgraded to GB.
CPU Spy showed 200 Hz to be the lowest state touched and there was no Deep Sleep. After these steps, it goes to Deep Sleep when not used.
